Dealers will replace the driver's seat cushion frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 10, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are ONC, KND, BNE and ZNF. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 5, 2026. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V859.

Vehicle began making loud chainsaw noise. Took to original location of purchase (Nissan Dealer - bought as used at 42k, no issues), was told that alternator, drive belt and tensioner were needing replacement as that was the location of noise. Took to Honda Dealer where I was originally told just tensioner, now they are stating alternator is faulty along with tensioner. Car only has 72k and most of miles are highway miles. No warning signs other than loud chainsaw noise that was constant while car in drive and idling (no noise in reverse).

I own a 2024 Honda HR-V. Since I purchased the vehicle, I have experienced recurring warning messages stating: "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem - See Your Dealer" and "Road Departure Mitigation System Problem - See Your Dealer." I brought the vehicle to the Honda dealer and reported these problems. The dealer scanned the vehicle and told me that no fault codes were found. Despite this, the problem has continued. On one occasion, while driving at approximately 5 mph, the vehicle unexpectedly applied the brakes on its own. There was no vehicle, pedestrian, cone, rock, debris, or other obstacle in front of the vehicle. I did not intentionally apply the brakes to cause the sudden stop. I am concerned that the Collision Mitigation Braking System or another Honda Sensing safety system may be incorrectly detecting an obstacle and applying the brake hen there is nothing in front of the vehicle. This is a safety concern, it could save lives and stop accidents from happening if this safety issue gets investigated and find a solution.

*The vehicle exhibited a profound and worrisome vibration under the driver's seat ( I was also told by a Honda Serviceman in the passenger seat during the pre-service test drive, that he felt it, also), when accelerating at speeds of 53 mph and above on the highway. This systematic issue was replicated by the dealership across multiple model years (2023 and 2026 HR-V's), suggesting a fundamental mismatch between the heavy SUV body and the lighter Civic chassis platform. The vehicle is NOT available for inspection upon request because I was forced to trade it in for a competitor's vehicle due to structural concerns. *The safety risk was two-fold: structural unpredictability and driver distraction/anxiety. The profound vibration directly beneath the driver's seat felt fundamentally unsafe and unstable at highway speeds, creating a constant fear of a catastrophic mechanical or structural failure while driving at 53 mph+ speeds. Dealing with this profound, undiagnosable vibration caused considerable psychological stress, heartache and anxiety every time I entered the freeway, severely impacting my peace of mind and distraction levels while attempting to navigate high-speed traffic. *Yes, the issue was brought to a Honda dealership's Service Department, where they dismissed the shaking by stating "that is just how the HR-V drives." To confirm the systematic nature of the defect, comparative freeway test drives were conducted with a member of the Service Department and a salesman, using both a separate 2023 HR-V and a brand new 2026 HR-V on the exact same route. Both vehicles exhibited the identical, unsettling vibration at 53 mph, confirming it is a widespread engineering defect across the vehicle line. *Yes. My independent mechanic of 20 years did a full inspection but incorrectly blamed "the road". This delayed my dealer visit, where staff also refused to inspect it, saying "that's" just how the HR-V drives". Both facilities failed to address the risk. *No.

Rear liftgate window spontaneously cracked no signs of damage to the rear of vehicle rear glass was mostly intact but had tempered glass fracturing throughout while car was parked. In terms of safety, glass breaking spontaneously can cause damage to eyes/ect. Police report filed, Dealership denies that it is an issue for the 2024 HRV model only 2023. No warnings, or symptoms just the rear window cracking.

Components of concern: collision mitigation braking system - while driving with no car in front of vehicle, car slammed on brakes - could have caused an accident. Yes, available for inspection. Also, lights went off and said to see dealer (have picture that I'm having issues attaching). Lights that went off were : collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, some driver assist systems cannot operate (clear front windshield or poor viewing distraction) - all at the same time, even when it's no visible windshield issues. Yes, available for inspection. Want to take to Honda dealership but I'm being charged $80 for a diagnostic when this is a system issue. Not yet

Honda Corp has in their possession all documents and all notices needed under the law, since November 2025. Honda Corp is not responding. Hello, who holds them to the law? Who is above Honda? I own a 2024 Honda HR-V. During the second winter of ownership, the windshield cracked under normal conditions without any known impact, collision, or external force. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Honda dealership for inspection. The dealership did not document any cause of the crack and did not identify any impact damage. Instead, they only provided an estimate for replacement. Despite the lack of documented external cause, the manufacturer has classified the damage as “external” and declined responsibility. I am concerned that this may indicate a potential defect in the windshield or structural stress issue, as the crack occurred without any identifiable external trigger. I am submitting this report to ensure this issue is documented in case similar incidents occur with other vehicles.

The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer on several occasions; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,853.

On March 8th 2026 I noticed a shudder or vibration from my steering wheel while pulling up into my parking spot, this does not happen when the vehicle is moving faster. I even turned my steering wheel fully to the right and left when I am parked and the vibration is there. I took the car to Future Honda at Citrus Heights CA and the first time they’ve told me the car was perfectly fine. Before I got off from work that day I asked the service manager if it was possible for the Shop Foreman to sit with me inside the car so I could show him and address the issue since nothing like that was happening while the car was moving and as stated by them over the phone. Shop Foreman finally got to see what I was talking about and service advisor asked me to leave the car for another day. Next day service advisor came back to me with a quote of $4,597 for a replacement of the steering rack. Recall 24V-744 states those related issues with the steering components. I was denied a full repair on my vehicle from Honda Corporate even when I stated the NHTSA 24V-744 recall. The dealer said the recall was done on November 13, 2024 and nothing else was needed to be done. The report from the dealer even states that they found a vibration on sharp turns which I know it does not happen to me at all, so I don’t think they are being completely accurate on their report. I have all that paperwork if needed and also Honda Corporate.

It frooze entirely, wouldnt go up, wouldnt go in reverse, just stayed on but would not move. after several attempts I was able to go back a little and move to a side and then I was able to drive up the road. This was the 2ND time this has happened so I asked the service shop at the dealer to check in driving the same road. the situation did not replicate, therefore they say theres nothing they can do or check, although I have read that this vehicle has been know to do this, but they did not even look at the printed evidence I took to them.. there were suggestions on what had to be checked but the manager refused to even read the information. The mechanic suggested I step on the gas up to the end, although the manual says you should hit gas slowly when stoping on a hill. Either way I tried both ways....it still freezes.

I own a 2024 Honda HR-V. The vehicle developed a steering problem where the steering wheel becomes unusually stiff and difficult to control. Honda issued NHTSA Recall 24V-744 for defective steering gearbox components affecting 2023-2025 Honda HR-V vehicles. My vehicle was manufactured during the same production period referenced in the recall. However, my VIN is not included in the recall even though the symptoms match the defect described by Honda. A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and indicated the steering system requires repair estimated at approximately $4,000. Because the defect matches the steering gearbox issue described in Recall 24V-744, I believe my vehicle may have the same safety defect but was excluded from the recall. This creates a potential safety risk because steering control can be affected while driving.

The contact's daughter noticed that the steering wheel had almost seized, and the vehicle's speed abruptly decreased. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Another vehicle was making a turn and crashed into the contact's vehicle. In addition, the "Brake" message was illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact mentioned that the failure was a known failure with the vehicle. The contact's daughter was taken to the local medical center. The contact's daughter sustained muscle pain in the back, neck, both shoulders, both jaws, and severe headaches. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

I have had a Supplement Restraint Problem light on since I bought they vehicle. It was on and off intermittently for the past year or so, however now it will not go off. Upon inspection the wiring is damaged and there is not cover to the ground according to the honda mechanic that looked at my vehicle. I have not had any service work done in the area where the SRS box is located and they did not perform any further inspection on the system. Again, this was on when I bought my 2024 honda HR-V. The dealer was made aware and they advised me that it should be covered under warranty however nobody will fix the issue at this time. Please review and look into this issue as it has been noted in prior service bulletins for the SRS system light to have issues.

12/7/2025 at about 7:20pm and about 17518 miles: grandparent were driving home and brakes failed as grandpa was parking in the driveway. He said after applying the brakes the car keep rolling forward and hit the garage door then rolled backwards, brake did not stop backward movement for over a minute. No injuries. Inspection from insurance and collisions repair center found no cause for brake failure. 01/4/2026 at about 8:16pm and approximately 18122 miles: as my mom was approaching a main road with 55 mph traffic to turn left the brakes failed to bring the car to a complete stop at the intersection causing the car to roll into on coming traffic. She said when she applied the brakes they seem to engage at the start and slowed the vehicle a little bit but did not seem to apply “full braking” to actually stop the car. Oncoming traffic did manage to swerve around car as mom maneuvered it into the middle lane, while it continued to coast down the road for a short distance the brakes failed did come back enough to drive home. Will be sending to Honda deal for though inspection.

The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) warning light illuminated, and the vehicle independently decelerated. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle warned the driver of the vehicle proximity to another vehicle, or of driving out of the intended lane erroneously. The contact stated that while attempting to roll down the passenger’s side window, the window failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer on several occasions and was diagnosed with an engine oil leak, debris in the window module, and the battery needed to be replaced. No additional information was available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The driver side wiper does not spray fluid through the top of the blade only the nozzles at the bottom spray deicer/fluid. On highway driving especially in frost freeze conditions this limits the drivers ability to see forward as road dirt and frost/ice are not able to be removed. That the fluid only comes out the bottom means that the part of the windshield the driver needs to see out of is not completely cleaned or de-iced limiting specifically the drivers vision to the front. This has caused multiple near misses on highway and around town driving especially at night.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Honda HR-V Sport (VIN: [XXX] , mileage: 45,000). The driver’s seat lowers unexpectedly while driving. This happens without warning and creates a serious safety hazard, especially when operating the vehicle on highways. I commute daily in New Jersey (Elizabeth to Union City, approx. 40 minutes on highways), and this defect places me and other drivers at risk. Despite multiple visits to Honda of Route 22 and Honda Service Center (Hillside, NJ), Honda has refused to repair or replace the defective seat under warranty. A technician even admitted this is a known issue with this model. Honda has denied coverage and left me driving a dangerous vehicle. This unresolved defect is a direct safety concern and I request NHTSA / NJDCA intervention to investigate and compel Honda to act. Case reference with Honda: #[XXX] (filed September 12, 2025). Two cracked have mysteriously appeared on my FRONT windshield. My vehicle was not involved in any accidents, nor have it been hit by any objects. The cracks are not on the outside, if you feel the windshield it is from the INSIDE, which indicates a factory defect since I'm the only driver of this vehicle, I can state this with 100% certainty. I purchased this vehicle brand new. It's barely one year since I've purchased it. 2024 Honda HR-V. I've seen 3 other Honda HR-V in my neighborhood with similar FRONT windshield cracks in the same area as mines. Their vehicles are similar models, except one is a sport HR-V. This is not a coincidence.

I was driving normally, and a car was coming up to a stop sign from my right side on a completely different road and the car jerked and the brakes automatically applied to the car and the dash blinked “BRAKE” for a brief moment. I’ve had the car for awhile and it has never done anything like that. Some days the blind spot doesn’t work either, when I know there is a car next to me the light on the mirrors and the beeping does not activate.

Honda issued recall 23V-782 on November 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (MY) 2023-2024 Honda Accord…
On April 4, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ24006 to investigate American Honda Motor Co.’s (Honda’s) proposed remedy for recall 23V-782 as well as scope of the vehicles involved. Honda issued recall 23V-782 on November 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (MY) 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda HR-V vehicles. Recall 23V-782 states that the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner assemblies may have been manufactured without a rivet that secures the pretensioner quick connector and wire plate. Recall documentation states that seat belt pretensioner assemblies that are missing the rivet will not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.Subject defective seat belt assemblies are installed as original equipment for both the driver and front passenger positions for the HR-V, but only for the driver position for the Accord and Accord Hybrid. The recall remedy for 23V-782 instructs the technician to inspect both front seat belt pretensioner assemblies and, if necessary, replace them. The inspection procedure requires the technician to utilize a pull force gauge to determine whether the subject component is missing the subject rivet and requires replacement. Parts requiring replacement are determined by whether the pretensioner quick connector separates from the pretensioner assembly while the technician is pulling on the seat belt. If no separation occurs, then the part is determined to be not defective and not require replacement. There have been no reports alleging a failure of seat belt pretensioner assemblies after the inspect and replace remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed. Additionally, no comparable failures have been observed in field data for similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall. As of the 4th quarter of 2024, the recall completion rate is at approximately 84% of the total recalled population. In view of the lack of failures after the remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed, and the lack of failures in similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall, ODI is closing this Recall Query (RQ). The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
