The electronic power steering rack is binding internally, causing a highly dangerous sticky steering condition on a 2025 Honda HR-V (VIN: [XXX]). [XXX] Honda previously replaced the steering gearbox assembly under warranty on XXX(Invoice #XXX) due to this exact manufacturing defect. The replacement component has failed again in less than a year. On XXX, under RO# XXX, Service Advisor [XXX] officially certified on the repair estimate that "ELECTRIC RACK IS BINDING INTERNALLY" and noted "SAME CONCERN WAS PRESENT BACK IN XXX. CASE #XXX." The Honda Regional Case Manager called me directly and officially refused to take responsibility or assume the $5,005.81 repair cost due to the vehicle having 60,272 miles, completely denying coverage under Safety Campaign #24V744000. Furthermore, they forced me to pay a $239.73 diagnostic fee under protest just to release my keys. American Honda is acting in bad faith, ignoring a documented, repetitive manufacturing safety defect on an active lease they legally own. I request an urgent federal investigation into American Honda's refusal to remedy this critical safety hazard and demand a full corporate waiver for the $5,005.81 repair and full reimbursement of all out-of-pocket costs. To Whom It May Concern, I am requesting assistance with a serious steering issue involving my 2025 Honda HR-V, which I purchased on XXX, from Coral Springs Honda in [XXX]. While driving northbound on XXX toward [XXX] with my daughter in the vehicle, the steering began making a loud noise and felt as though it was about to lock. I was unable to steer properly, creating a serious safety concern for my family and other drivers. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and was told I may have to pay for the repair because I exceeded the mileage limit. However, I understand that similar steering problems have been reported with HR-V vehicles, and I believe this issue should be investigated as a possible manufacturer defect or safety-related issue. I respectfully request that Honda investigate my vehicle and determine whether it is affected by a recall, known defect, or other steering-related issue, and consider covering the repair. Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious safety matter. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My 2025 Honda HR-V experienced an apparent braking/ABS/VSA system malfunction and is currently at the Honda dealership. The dealership has not released the vehicle back to me, and it is available for inspection. I was completely stopped at a traffic light with my foot firmly on the brake when the vehicle unexpectedly began moving forward while my foot remained on the brake. I did not press the accelerator. The vehicle moved forward and contacted the stopped vehicle in front of me at very low speed. I was unable to keep the vehicle stationary despite applying the brake, putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. The car i hit did have damage and they are filing a claim against my insurance. I took the vehicle directly to the Honda dealership after the incident. Their diagnostic scan found trouble code C1000-94 stored in the vehicle. The dealership is continuing to inspect the vehicle and has not released it to me. There were no warning lights or messages immediately before the incident. However, for several months I have repeatedly brought the vehicle to the dealership with concerns about the brakes. I reported that the brakes feel “gummy” or abnormal and make grinding and high-pitched/shrieking noises. The dealership replaced brake-related clips, but the symptoms continued and the issue was not resolved. I repeatedly told the dealership that the vehicle did not feel safe. I have also reported that the vehicle sometimes pulls while driving. Despite multiple service visits, these concerns persisted. This incident was the first time the vehicle unexpectedly moved forward while I was fully stopped with the brake pedal depressed and resulted in contact with another vehicle.

The 2025 Honda hrv will stall and cut off after pumping gasoline. It will stall out at a red light and not crank back up. It says emissions problem on the dash. I believe it is the fuel pump but there is no recall like the others i have seen online. It’s a brand new car it shouldn’t be having problems like this!

I got in my car and started driving home from work then I heard something just shatter and when I looked back my rear windshield was completely shattered. I pick up my nieces and nephews and drive other peoples children to their appointments. This could have caused a serious injury should I have experienced it during a time I have little kids in my backseat. I am taking it to Gardena Honda first thing in the morning for an inspection. I have seen other people report this issue on 2023-2025 Hondas and after comparing my windshield to theirs its literally the same. There were no warning signs that flashed it was so crazy.

My front windshield developed a crack starting at the base near the wipers, and nothing hit it or caused any obvious damage. It started off really small but has gradually gotten bigger over time. The car is available if anyone needs to inspect it. The crack is a safety concern because it can affect visibility, especially with glare from sunlight or headlights at night, and if it keeps spreading it could weaken the windshield. The issue hasn’t been reproduced since it just seemed to happen on its own, but it’s easy to see and confirm by looking at it. It hasn’t been inspected yet by the manufacturer, police, or insurance (you can adjust this if needed), and there were no warning lights or signs before it showed up. It just appeared one day and has been spreading since.

There were no prior cracks to the window and nothing hit my window when the it shattered. I was going 75 mph on the highway and had two passengers in my car. I ended up with glass all over me. Luckily, i was wearing sunglasses, so none it went in my eyes. I didn’t swerve or lose control of the vehicle, but myself and the two passengers could have been seriously injured as a result of this defect. I am unaware of whether this problem has been confirmed by a dealer or independent safety center in other vehicles besides my own. I did take my car to the Honda dealership in [XXX] where I bought it from, and they will look at it tomorrow during business hours. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There was no warning. It happened spontaneously. Honda hrv 2025 malfunctioning when brake hold system is activated. Brake hold system lets individuals use the brake whenever needed without your foot having to be on the pedal the entire time. You can come to a red light, step on the pedal and take your foot off the pedal and the car will remain stopped until you press on the gas. Over the course of leasing this vehicle sometimes the brake system problem message would show but it would disappear right away. I let the dealership know of this issue when I got my first oil change but since the message wasn’t currently displayed on the dashboard they did not attend to it. Earlier this week the car suddenly glitches when brake hold is activated and deactivates itself followed by All kinds of messages on the dash. I will upload them here to see. From brake system,TPMS, hill start assist all malfunction and when you turn the car off it doesn’t start back up automatically. This is a serious safety concern as the brake system malfunction and car not turning on can happen suddenly when driving causing injury to myself and those around me. A simple google search shows that this is common for this vehicle make, model and year however no recall has been filled.

While driving on highway under 40mph, the brakes and steering wheel locked simultaneously. I was unable to control the car—pressing the foot brake and emergency brake did not stop the car and I could not steer as the wheel was locked. I ended up on the side of the road alongside a wall of snow. The dashboard was lighting up throughout this time with rotating emergency messaging—TPMS, transmission, brake system, flat tire, etc. There were no warning messages displayed and complete control of the car was taken away without warning. It was 530am so I was lucky there was no one else on the road or else this could have led to a fatal accident. The car was towed to the dealer and they said it was an electronic brake booster that went bad, but are unsure if this caused both the brake and steering failure. The dealer has not been transparent or helpful. They initially said there was nothing wrong with the car and that it was safe to drive. I reported it to Honda corporate and they have not gotten back—triaged as level 1 incident due to severity.

Multiple times in the last year, I would be driving and it felt like my steering wheel would stick when navigating turns on the road, enough so that I would be turning my hands to turn the wheel and I would feel resistance like the car was slightly trying to fight me on the direction I wanted to go. Enough so that myself and others who have driven my vehicle have also noticed the random slight resistance. I can see that there is a recall for this exact problem with the same year make and model for my car, but for some reason my VIN does not come up under recall when I search it, even though I have experienced the problem that is being recalled. I’m worried that it is going to happen at a crucial moment and I would just like to know if my car should in fact be part of the recall list and for some reason is not.

We experienced two problems with our Honda HRV, which was purchased in June 2025 (less than a year ago). The first issue is that the engine started displaying warning lights and would not turn on. This was due to rodents chewing on the wires, which were apparently soy-based plastic. The second issue is that the rear windshield shattered for no reason the other day. This is apparently a known issue with 2023 and 2024 HRV vehicles that led to a recall, but it also appears to be occurring with the 2025 HRV.

My vehicle, 2025 Honda HRV EX-L is experiencing paint defects. It does not even have 3000 miles on it, and the paint is peeling. The color is Crystal Black Pearl, and even though outdoor elements are removed from the vehicle immediately, the car is still experiencing paint damage. The paint is cracking and peeling off in multiple areas where outside elements have hit it (tree sap, bird poop, pollen, etc.), the damage is still occurring even if removed immediately. Honda will not honor their paint defect warranty, as they claim this is environmental damage that would not be covered under their paint defect warranty. I was informed that their paint warranty only covers events where the paint is bubbling and cracking from under the paint, or rust is occurring. This defect is happening on a new vehicle, whereas older modeled black vehicles at the same residence, who leaves these environmental elements on the cars longer than I, do not experience the same damage in the slightest. Another vehicle within the same household that was purchased at the same Honda Dealership, about 2 months prior to my purchase, same environment/neighborhood/outside exposure, just different make (CRV) and color (blue) and isn't experiencing paint damage like this black crystal pearl color on the HR-V. Having to pay over $2000 out of pocket to fix the paint on these areas.
