The Honda Dealership on 9/03/2026 executed a federal safety recall negligently and punctured my gas tank, creating an immediate fire hazard. The dealership performed the safety recall on 09/03/2026. I went to get my receipt from the lady at the front desk and she handed it to me, no one mentioned anything about what was done to the truck. As soon as I got into the vehicle the tighten gas cap showed in the dash, it has never said that before this day and time. I called a mechanic and asked him as to what it meant and he said its okay, my vehicle is doing the same thing. So i drove it 30 plus miles back home. Last night i went to the gas pumps to get gasoline and it poured out into the parking lot, and all over the place. The recall was safety recalled 2006-2014 Ridgeline Rear Frame repaired they checked the vin and repaired it
On 2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL [XXX] Has a possible fuel leak by filling up tank it leaks from the rear side of the vehicle onto the ground. The owner do smells Raw fuel inside the cab. This is a very safety hazard. I report this information to Casa Honda Dealership and Warranty Solutions. I am filing this complaint regarding our 2008 Honda Ridgeline, VIN [XXX], approximately 129,000 miles, concerning NHTSA Recall 22V-430 / Honda Campaign LCD. The vehicle has spent its life in [XXX], and Honda's VIN lookup showed this recall OPEN/INCOMPLETE. We experienced fuel leaking while fueling, and a piece of severely corroded metal associated with supporting/securing the fuel tank fell from the vehicle. An independent mechanic found extensive rear frame corrosion at the fuel-tank mounting area and stated there was no longer sufficient structure to properly secure the tank. The mechanic also observed the inadequately supported fuel tank rubbing/contacting the driveshaft and advised us of the Honda recall. Due to these safety conditions, we did not drive it further. It was towed to [XXX]'s Friendly Honda, [XXX], for the open recall. On XXX, the dealer called after inspection and stated it submitted photographs to Honda/American Honda. We were informed the vehicle FAILED the safety recall inspection, could not be repaired under the recall, and Honda would have to buy it back. Honda has not provided a written repurchase offer or valuation methodology. We are filing this so NHTSA has a record of an actual failure associated with Recall 22V-430: severe frame corrosion/perforation, loss of fuel-tank support, tank/driveshaft contact, and fuel leakage. We request NHTSA document this incident and Honda's repurchase handling. We have photographs, recall records, mechanic/dealer information, towing records and the recorded call available. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I delivered my vehicle to a Honda dealership in July 2025. They inspected the vehicle and agreed to replace the fuel tank. Since then, I have been receiving notifications that the fuel tank is back ordered with no ETA. I am continuing to pay insurance registration for this vehicle and I’m unable to use it. I would suggest that at this point Honda needs to buy it back.

Hello, I own a 2008 Honda Ridgeline. The vehicle’s rear frame is corrode after exposure to road salt. The fuel tank might detach from the truck and cause a fire. I checked open recalls and nothing is currently open. I’m afraid of driving the vehicle due to this issue. Thank you
My 2008 Honda RIdgeline has a frame rusted to the point where it has been deemed unsafe to drive by my local Honda dealership and Honda USA. My 2008 Honda Ridgeline is PA titled and was involved in recall 22V-430 (NHTSA recall number) / 22-021 (Honda recall number). I took my truck into Wright Honda (Uniontown, PA) on June 2nd, 2023 for the 2006-2014 Ridgeline Rear Frame Repair Safety Recall. The truck is available for inspection, and Honda USA has several pictures of the frame problems that they evaluated. When Wright Honda performed the recall work, they informed me that the frame rust is so severe that it is not safe to drive and it will not pass inspection; they recommended that I tow it home (at my expense, which is what I had to do). I asked them if my truck might be considered for a buyback. They told me that Honda USA did request more pictures and that someone from Honda USA would be in touch with me. Basically, after speaking to a case manager and supervisor, Honda USA told me that the frame corrosion is my responsibility because they performed their recall. The Honda USA technician Eric (4605592) agreed that the frame rust is so bad that is should not be driven on a road. So although multiple parties at Honda agree that my frame rust is so severe that I can no longer drive the truck, and there is a recall regarding frame rust on my Ridgeline, Honda refuses to take responsibility and either replace the frame or buy it back. The recall was to prevent the gas tank from falling off and catching fire. I think it is equally important for Honda to take care of frames that may break while driving, killing everyone in the truck, when it is known that the frame corrosion is already a problem because of a Honda quality control issue.
The truck frame is extremely rusted. I can push my finger through multiple locations on the frame.

The wiring harness for the blower motor melted behind the center lower dash area at a connection point.the vehicle had just been started and the a/c would not come on. The a/c came on briefly the next day and then failed again and has not come back on. Investigation of the wiring came up with melted point of contact. This could have easily caused a fire and was a known issue with the years prior to 2008.
