Certain fabtech aftermarket replacement pitman arms, p/nos. Fts71000 and fts71001, installed for use on certain 2001-2006 gm c/k 2500 pick up trucks and sport utility vehicles. the pin located inside the pitman arm can shear off due to a reverse bending fatigue condition, resulting in a total loss of steering control.
Loss of steering control could lead to a vehicle crash with potential injury or death.
Fabtech will notify owners and replace the pitman and idler arms free of charge. the recall IS expected to begin during february 2006. owners may contact fabtech at 909-597-7800.
On certain crew cab pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles, the 2ND row center occupant seat belt routing may make it difficult to position the lap portion of the safety belt low around the hips of occupants, especially smaller occupants, seated in this position. appropriate use of a child seat or booster seat, as recommended for small children, does…
A lap portion of the seat belt routing that IS not low and snug on the hips can allow the lap belt to ride up on an occupant's abdomen instead of fitting low around their hipbones, and therefore, can expose them to more risk of abdominal and internal organ injury.
Dealers will cut open the guide loop, remove a portion of the loop, and then the remaining two sides should be folded over and secured with a retainer free of charge. the recall began on july 21, 2005. owners may contact cadillac at 1-866-982-2339, chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, GMC at 1-866-996-9463, or hummer at 1-800-732-5493.
Certain trucks, sport utility vehicles, and vans equipped with bosch hydro-boost brake assemblies, the hydraulic brake booster pressure accumulator may crack and separate from the hydro-boost assembly during normal operating conditions.
If a separation occurred and the hood of the vehicle were open, fragments from the accumulator could cause injury to people in the immediate area. the presence of this crack or fractured surface could allow the hydraulic fluid to leak from the accumulator circuit of the booster assembly. the loss of fluid would cause increased steering and braking effort and a crash may occur without prior warning.
Dealers will test the hydro-boost assembly for functional operation of the two-function valve. if the hydro-boost assembly fails the test, dealers will replace the assembly free of charge. The recall began on march 23, 2005. owners may contact chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, GMC trucks at 1-866-996-9463 and hummer at 1-800-732-5493.
Certain sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks, and passenger vans fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 135, ?passenger car brake systems.? some of these vehicles were produced with an out-of-specification brake hydro-boost housing relief valve bore.
Consequently, the valve o-ring seal may fracture. steering efforts may be slightly increased while braking or parking. under certain driving conditions, a fractured seal may require a slight increase in the applied brake pedal effort to achieve the same vehicle deceleration rate as prior to the seat fracture.
Dealers are to replace the hydro-boost relief valve. the recall began on june 18, 2004. owners should contact cadillac at 1-866-982-2339; chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438; GMC at 1-866-996-9463; or hummer at 1-866-486-6376.

Yesterday I turned off the alarm and unlocked the doors via the keypad. I opened the driver door and my wife opened the passenger rear door and the Hummer H2 started. No key in the ignition and the fob does not have a start button. I then got in the car and inserted the key and turned the key to ON then to off and the vehicle would not shut off. Only after cycling through the gears was I able to shut off the vehicle. I have now disconnected the battery to prevent another unwanted start.

As I was driving on I 5 in oregon I experienced a complete failure of the electrical system and brake systems. The vehicle was on cruise control and when I disengaged it all of the safety warning light appeared on the dashboard. I pressed on the brakes and they were a complete failure also. At this time the dashboard lights and controls went off and I loss power. I was able to get to the side of the road when I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. I got my daughter out of the vehicle to a safe distance and opened the hood and the main fuse relay panel was fully engulfed in fire. I called 911. In the approx. 5 min. My 2004 H2 has a serious rusting issue with the brake lines. On 2 separate occasions I have been driving along at approximately 30 mpg and hit the brakes only to have them go all the way to the floor. Luckily I did not an accident. In both occasions the line burst due to rust. My veh. Has 103,000.00 lightly driven. Gm needs to come out and admit they have a problem with rusting brake liens before someone gets killed
I was driving home at night and about a mile before I got home my transmission didn't seem to shift as smooth as it usually does and when I parked in my garage I got out and transmission fluid was dripping out from under my H2 very quickly and by the next hour it had every bit run out and huge puddle of transmission fluid was all over my garage floor. I took the skid plate off my H2 and the transmission line had a hole rusted through it. Had I been another few miles away from getting home this could have destroyed my transmission and possibly caused me to wreck.

Gm IS recalling 13,358 my 2003 hummer H2 vehicles. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which water can enter the windshield wiper motor module. If a sufficient amount of water enters the module, over time, the front windshield wipers may work intermittently or they may become inoperative. read more at http://www.cars.com/recalls/hummer/h2/2003/#85k348wcjdlbcqxu.99
I was pulling out of my driveway in my hummer H2 when the brake pedal went to the floor. I got out of my H2 and noticed a large amount of brake fluid running out from under the rear end near the left rear wheel. I looked under the vehicle and noticed a brake line was rusted in two. I checked under the hood and saw that the brake fluid reservoir was completely empty. *tr
I feel that this key problem falling out of the ignition, key will not turn on or off making it hard to control when the key IS in the ignition and causing it not to start. I had this same problem on a 2003 isuzu ascender. Also the "driver information center" has quit working right which controls a lot of things on the vehicle. I think it IS a defective switch from gm who also built my 2003 isuzu. *tr

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
Odi upgraded this investigation at the conclusion of pe04-080.the alleged defect involves the failure of the steering knuckle at the lower ball joint boss, resulting in a separation of the lower ball joint from the knuckle.a lower ball joint separation could result in a loss of steering and/or a disabled vehicle. It appears that the fractures of H2 steering knuckles can be attributed to wheel/tire collision forces being transferred directly to the steering knuckle.the original knuckle design appears to be sufficient for the H2 application.evidence from inspected vehicles, photographs, police reports and edr data indicates collision impact events placed stress on the steering knuckle causing it to fracture.further use of agency resources does not appear to be warranted.the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that no safety-related defect exists with regard to the subject component.the agency reserves the right to take further action on this issue if warranted.
During the pe, odi investigated the hummer H2 for fractures which were occurring at the front steering knuckle lower boss.when the knuckle lower boss fractures, the lower ball joint stud IS released and the entire knuckle and wheel/tire assembly separates from the vehicle.odi IS upgrading this investigation to gain a full technical understanding of the factors which contributed to these failures.
