These records cover every 2004 Nissan 350Z. To see whether one car still needs a recall repair, decode its VIN or check it with NHTSA.
3 recalls name the 2004 Nissan 350Z. Newest first.
Zf service IS recall certain clutch kit assemblies, part number sx: k70358-01, shipped to wholesalers as service parts between september 1, 2010, and march 8, 2011. these service parts are intended for use on model year 2003-2006 nissan 350Z and infiniti G35 vehicles. the sx: k70358-01 clutch kit contains an oversized clutch disc.
An oversized clutch disc could cause the vehicle to move unintentionally on the initial start-up, if the driver does not follow the installation instructions and fails to use the service brakes while the hand brake IS not applied. unintentional movement of the vehicle could result in a crash or possible injury to persons outside the vehicle.
Zf service notify wholesalers to return any affected clutch kit assemblies still in inventory for free replacement kits. this condition will correct itself after the first start-up and usage of the clutch kit. however, if an owner IS not satisfied with its performance, zf services will reimburse the owner for the cost of the replacement clutch kit and a reasonable amount for its installation. the safety recall began on july 13, 2011. owners may contact zf services at 1-800-321-0784 ext. 6748.
Certain ck motorsports combination headlights, clear corner, bumper, and side marker lights sold as replacement lamps for use on the passenger vehicles listed above. some combination lamps that are not equipped with amber side reflectors fail to conform to federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.
Without the amber reflectors, the vehicle will be poorly illuminated, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash without warning.
Ck motorsport will notify owners and replace the noncompliant lamps free of charge. the recall began on july 1, 2006. owners may contact ck motorsport at 1-909-610-7211.
On certain passenger and sport utility vehicles, the fuel filler hose may crack and result in fuel leakage from the hose while refueling.
Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.
Dealers will replace the fuel filler hose. recall began on february 27, 2006, for nissan owners, and on march 13, 2006, for infiniti owners. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.
My 350Z was overheating so I took it to Sun Devil Auto in Sun City West. Sam Malone inspected it. He said I needed a new radiator, hoses, gaskets for a price of $1400.00+ .I went to the Firestone dealer in Surprise on Meeker, he told me to go put antifreeze in and check ot out. I did and no overheating now? Mr. Malone lied to me and I want him fired.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan 350Z. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, after stepping away from the vehicle, the contact was alerted by his passenger that there was a fuel leak underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the passenger was alerted by the odor of gasoline. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump filler neck needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000.
The airbag light came on for no reason, has never come on before. No accidents, fender bender, no bumps. Shop read an error code of B1129. Checked right passenger SRS seat connections as code suggests and reset the light. Light came back on in two days. Shop says airbag may not deploy and can not determine the exact cause. could easily cost over a $1000 to fix depending on issue. Airbags should not have issues like this. Nissan already has a service campaign for the same issue on later model 350Z. Please encourage Nissan to include the 2004 model as well. From all my research into resolving this issue, I can see there are a lot of other 350Z owners affected as well. Please help us. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact's girlfriend owns a 2004 Nissan 350Z. The contact stated that upon refueling the gas tank, a large amount of gasoline began to leak out from the gas tank and underneath the vehicle. The contact also stated that upon entering the vehicle, a strong fuel odor began to emit from the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home. The contact called the dealer and they informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 05V555000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
I purchased 4 new tires for my 2004 nissan 350Z, they are the falken pro G5 sport a/s tires p225/45r18 on the front. 245/45/R18 on the rear on 2/06/19 the mileage in was 16,292. On 1/15/20 I took the car out and the car was bouncing all over the road, I took it back to discount tires in las vegas nevada on that same day and they said it was the balance of the tires. When the technician tried to balance the tires he said they are off by over 1 ounce. Another tech came and tried to balance the tires and found a bulge on all 4 tires and opted to replace them all,i only had 69 miles on the tires! I have to say in all my years I have never seen tires develop bulges like these and all 4 needing replacement with only 69 miles on them! I am very nervous with these tires being that they are installed on a nissan 350Z with the power the vehicle has.
Hello, I was leaving a stop sign barely moving and all of a sudden it sounded like a gun going off in my car. Before I could grasp my next thought my car flipped completely over on its side no tires touching the ground! I had to crawl out passenger window . Upon inspection of vehicle this IS what was found.
I bought a 2004 Z350 and I bought it on mother's day last month and I got the car in the abarat was already on the car the light was already on when I purchased a car from a dealership and I was told that it was against the law to sell a car with the airbag light on.
My car light just came on. I never had an accident with my car since I purchased it from palm springs nissan. In 2004
350Z recall. 2004 350Z . Original owner of car. a couple weeks ago, while driving car hesitated, then resumed but check engine light tcs off light and slip lights on, and remained on. this week while driving 40mph without warning the car hesitated but actually stalled. I was able to somewhat safely pull to right side of road. after 15 minutes of making several phonecalls the car just started as if nothing was wrong and I drove it home. today it started fine. while enroute to nissan dealership service garage 1 mile to go when at 70mph stalls while in nearing five oclock traffic. thankfully able to somewhat safely get out of driving lane onto shoulder with steering wheel and brake pedal increasingly becoming harder to operate, put on flashers and waited. I was able to start after 15 minutes without any accidents and shakily took to dealership.
Service engine warning light IS on. Car turns of without warning while operating. Cam shaft sensor warning. Car IS currently parked outside home.
Airbag warning light illuminated on dash on 2004 350Z nissan. this vehicle IS not listed for nissan airbag recall. within warranty period the airbag was previously replaced by planet nissan (dealer las vegas, NV) in 2004 or 2005, not sure of specific date. dealership said it wasn't covered under warranty but they would take care of it.
Happened in the driveway, fortunately. When the clutch pedal was depressed, it stayed down, and in gear. it was difficult to force the car out of gear. I was then able to manually lift the pedal, and pump it softly to make it stay up. This has not happened since. it IS a hydraulic clutch' no leaks, and clutch replaced 2 years ago. the car has been well maintained with only 55K miles on it. looking on the internet I see this IS a common problem, and very unsafe if you are driving and can't get it out of gear.
I have had a problem with the neutral safety switch causing the car to periodically not start. A mechanic made a previous diagnosis but said there were no safety concerns. the car eventually would start all, requiring downtime for repair. Sometimes after sitting over night and sometimes after several errands the car won't start but never this sudden stall. Today, the car stalled while I was in the middle of slowing down to make a left hand turn. It was a two lane mountain road. cars were able to get around me without incident and I was able to coast backwards to a place of safety. I let the car sit for about 10 min. Which IS my usually what I do when it won't start. put it in neutral after releasing the locked gear shift, with foot on the break, started the car. I am thankful that I hadn't yet merged onto the freeway. *tr
TL* the contact owns a 2004 nissan 350Z. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer reset the air bag sensor, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was brought back to the dealer who stated that both the driver and passenger side air bag modules needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 111,000. Jcc
On 2004 nissan 350Z the convertible top will stick in the half open half closed position. Nissan will not help fix this costly repair $2200-$3000. The motors that control the top called the (fifth bow motor) will go out without notice. No way to manually close the top. Many others on nissan forum site have reported this same issue. I paid nissan to fix this problem cost me $2800.00. Now it IS doing the same thing less than 3 years later. (i can supply the part number IS needed). *tr
Air bag fault light for passenger seat stayed on. Investigation by nissan determined it to be a faulty sensor. Another incident occurred on 3/05/14, with same problem. Appears to be the same problem as recall of 2013-2014 nissans. I think recall should be extended to include my 2004 Z350. *tr
My daughter was driving in orlando when her check engine light and the slip control light came on and the engine lost power and stalled. we had to have the vehicle towed to an orlando nissan dealer. they diagnosed it as the camshaft and crankshaft sensors and we had to have it fixed at a cost of $815.65. I recently contacted nissan about this as I saw there was a nissan recall (no. R2022) on the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. however, nissan informed me that my car was not included in the recall as the recall was for 2003 vehicles. they stated the recall was vin specific. I believe it should be symptom specific as the symptoms of the vehicle in this incident were exactly the same as what was described in the recall. *tr
The gas gauge does not show full when the tank IS full. This IS caused by faulty sensors in the two tanks which nissan refuses to admit. I along with hundreds of others on online forums have had this issue and have to spend money out of our pockets although this IS clearly a defect. It seems to be with the 2003/2004 models. It causes the drivers to not know how much gas IS in the tank and at times leaving them stranded because the gas has ran out. *tr
The car's fuel sensors will not allow me to fill up the gas tank completely. It stops about halfway every time. *tr
TL* the contact owns a 2004 nissan 350Z. The contact stated that the air bag sensor warning lamp illuminated. In addition, the water temperature and fuel level gauges continuously fluctuated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 68,500 and the current mileage was 71,755.
The driverside power window motor had to be replaced within months of purchase after window became stuck in the open position, the dealership where I purchased car replaced at no cost of course due to it was still under warranty. The same problem happened again on 2/19/09 and dealer informed me no longer under warranty my cost to replace driverside power window motor $372.58. The same problem occurred again 12/09/10 did not bother to go to dealer my cost to replace driverside power window motor $269.58. The driverside window IS again stuck in the open position as of 7/25/12. Car has 19,831 total miles as of 7/25/12 has been garage kept, IS in almost perfect condition, driven by mature woman. *tr
Thousand of reported cases of not being able to fuel up the nissan 350Z. the problem source IS the filler neck shutter valve. Nissan IS aware of the issue for years and have been making customer foot the $400-$500 bill instead of taking action on the faulty part. The faulty shutter valve causes fuel to spew out while filling the tank covering the car and operator in fuel. The risky part IS people are changing the way they fill to try to bypass the action of the shutter valve but also works against the safety features of the gasoline nozzle causing it to not shut off when fuel reaches max. I personally cant only get 7 gallons in my car before it sprays out which IS very annoying since I have to fight to add 7 gallons of fuel everyother day. I fought with this issue in my 2003 350Z and my 04. It IS extremely common and should have been recalled years ago. *tt
TL* the contact owns a 2004 nissan 350Z. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated upon starting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The contact also stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle surged forward and accelerated to 70 mph. The vehicle eventually stopped on its own. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the throttle body was repaired. The failure continued. The failure mileage was 100,000.
The fuel gauge doesn't accurately reflect the amount of gasoline in the fuel tank. examples include when the fuel tank IS filled to the point of overflowing, the fuel gauge randomly reports, 3/4, 1/2 1/4 and sometimes empty. the fuel gauge randomly reports different fuel levels each time the ignition IS turned on. further research of the described matter on various online 350Z forums indicate the same problem exists for many other 350Z owners, which indicates a product defect. the forum that follows IS one of many examples: http://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/501507-fix-for-gas-gauge-fluctuations-hard-to-fill.html. *tr
