American Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2007 XL-7 vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas; and manufactured June 13, 2006, through December 22, 2006. Some of these vehicles have a condition in which the plastic supply or return port on the fuel pump module may crack, which could cause a fuel leak.
Risk and remedy
Risk
Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire.
Remedy
American Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed on March 7, 2013. Owners may contact American Suzuki Customer Relations at 1-800-934-0934.
Certain vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 212, "windshield mounting." an incorrect primer may have been used when installing the windshield.
Risk and remedy
Risk
In the event of a crash, the windshield may not be retained to the extent required by the standard, increasing the risk of personal injuries to the vehicle occupants.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace any glass (windshield, liftgate glass, or the side stationary glass) that was installed incorrectly.the recall began on july 10, 2007. owners may contact suzuki at 1-800-934-0934.

I have this airbag light on problem stated below. It seems it should be a safety recall. Possible solution for Airbag light on Seat Sensor Ok, I'm going to ask a couple of questions and hope that [XXX] or someone with knowledge chimes in. I originally had this problem in my wife's car a couple of months ago, airbag light on, clock flashing after going over a bump with my 240lb ass in the passenger seat. We got home, turned the car off, restarted it and it went through the power-up self test I guess and the fault cleared itself. The other day it started up again, no bump but still had the fat guy in the seat. I noticed that I only saw this issue referring to 2004 model xl7s. I've looked and haven't seen 2003s, or 2005s. The TSB for this issue ONLY refers to 2004 models and says that this is the updated part number 86605-53JA1. If you look at this site that has them in stock: [XXX] It says that part fits 2004-2006. I found the published date for the TSB somewhere online as 12/2004 so they apparently knew the problem early, made an update/change and moved on. Probably changing the design sometime mid-year 04? I don't like the idea of spending $1400 for a part. So, I checked [XXX] and found a nice passenger seat from a 2005 locally for about $75 in a boneyard. Does anyone have any advice why swapping in a 2005 seat (or just the base if the color is wrong, whatever) is a bad idea? Does anyone know if there has to be any special dealer magic/ calibration/ etc done if I put this in myself? I haven't yet had the time to pull the seat out of the car, flip it over and check things out. But I'm not super hopeful that I can fix whatever this sensor is since nobody else has posted anything in the last 13 years. Thanks for your interest. The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki XL7. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer after she discovered that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V597000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that after the vehicle was retrieved from the dealer and the recall was presumably completed, the vehicle was driven to the residence and parked. The contact then stated on the same day while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal fuel odor throughout the cabin of the vehicle before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The contact then notified the dealer of the failure, but the contact was denied service. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the crank shaft position sensor was faulty. The contact stated that she previously had the vehicle diagnosed by a different independent mechanic and was informed that the engine was not getting fuel when the vehicle was started. The contact was informed that the fuel pump module assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the recall was completed, and further repairs would be at the expense of the owner. The failure mileage was approximately 215,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Suzuki XL7. The contact stated while approaching the vehicle, the contact became aware of gasoline fumes outside of the vehicle. Additionally, while attempting to start the vehicle, several attempts were needed to start the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact stated that the failure was with the pressure line attached to the fuel pump which leaked and cracked. The mechanic installed a seal into the crack of the fuel pump to temporarily repair the failure. The mechanic recommended that the fuel pump be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 194,000.

Water appears to be leaking from area around the sunroof. When it rains heavily or if I were to go through an automated carwash water pours in from around the sunroof areas into the car cabin from the ceiling, this has happened while the vehicle IS stationary and being driven.

I purchased my XL7 luxury new in 2007 with only 368+ miles. Before I had driven the vehicle for 3 months, the stability control and traction control lights came on and I was forced to take the vehicle for service. Before my vehicle warranty expired, I had to replace the gas caps numerous times resulting in the replacement of my catalytic converter. Now before my vehicle reached 100,000 miles, I am forced to replace the electrical harness (or complete computer output). Pugmire lincoln mercury IS the only dealership in my area that provides repairs for my vehicle. After the harness repair, the check engine light IS back on, and the codes (in less than 3 months) reveal that codes: [p2099, p0157, p2272 and p2099] resulting that there IS an oil leak, an O2 sensor problem and another catalytic fuel problem again. It IS time for my 100,000 mile check-up, but I cannot get past the original problems. These conditions continue and I love my vehicle. I was using my vehicle for to and from work of less than 11 miles daily. I have driven as far west as san antonio, tx and north to baltimore md and south to jacksonville fl. My ABS light continues to come on and my oil light flashes to instruct me to cut off the motor and tighten my gas cap while in motion.

This vehicle should be recalled. It IS a lemon!! I bought my suzuki 2 years ago used and have had nothing but problems. I have had the timing chain replaced. After I get gas it sputters and struggles starting. The traction control light comes on and the engine power IS reduced. Eventually it just stops running. I could not drive my suzuki most of the winter because of that and no one knows how to fix it. The sunroof and windshield leak. I have had a mechanic look at it a couple of times and it IS still leaking. The passenger air bag light doesn't work. The turn signal doesn't work. Now my speedometer stopped working. It IS stuck at 80 when it IS parked and then goes up from there when I am driving it. Who knows what else IS going to stop working. I am so frustrated, there are too many problems with this vehicle. It IS unsafe!
