Takata recall - it's been over a year we've been waiting for toyota to provide parts for this recall - at least ventura toyota reports they are still not available. this IS a very dangerous situation. we need to get this repaired. note - recall number 16v340
Takata recall. Nhtsa recall no. 16V-340. can you help speed up when the remedy will be available? on may 23, 2016 toyota issued a recall notice for our vehicle. They recommend we do not use the passenger seat until the recall work IS complete. But they still have not made a remedy available!! It IS january 2, 2017! I believe they have already exceeded a reasonable time frame to make a remedy available. The recall notice recommended submitting a complaint on the nhtsa website if toyota IS not completing the remedy within a reasonable time. can you help speed up when the remedy will be available? Thanks very much.
Takata recall, repair not performed, no parts avail.
My complaint IS that toyota gives me different answers each time I have called regarding passenger airbag recall. Recall #16v-340. Even if the passenger airbag explodes it can shoot metal parts across at driver or in back at passengers. I live in zone a and also drive to arizona which IS a lot hotter than ca the last call I made to toyota I was told they hadn't decided the best avenue to go!!! That tells me that they have not started on the problem!!! Maybe if things were made in the USA we wouldn't have all these recalls!!! Thank you.
Takata recall, I was traveling down a side road and a car was pulling out of the driveway and I was struck on the passenger side of my vehicle, the airbags on both driver side and passenger side did not deploy. Car was deemed a total loss by the insurance company.
Takata recall. This has not been dealt with in a timely manner.
Takata recall. Toyota will not move forward and fix our airbag issues.

Brakes are scrubbing harshly when weather IS damp. Had it inspected at leith toyota in raleigh,nc and was told that was normal for this car. Two months ago in wet cold high altitude there was extreme scrubbing of front wheel brakes, again was inspected and told that brakes were good and would probably need new pads at next inspection. This scrubbing started about 6-8 months after we purchased it new. *tr

2010 toyota corolla. Power brake assist. Delay or lag when applying brakes*cw when applying the brakes, the pedal would have a soft spot with no reaction and then become responsive. *Jb
My car wanders when I am driving it. There have been too many instances to narrow down the date when it happens. When I am driving my car seems to wander from its lane. At highway speeds and in town. If the wheel IS held straight the car tends to wander to one side or the other, usually it seems to the passenger side. Sometimes when I am on a gradual curve I must make constant corrections just to stay in my lane. I have yet to bring this to toyotas attention. I am bring my car to the dealer I bought it from 9 months ago and have them look at another problem with my brakes failing, so I will also have them inspect this problem as well. *Tr
I was driving through a parking lot with a friend of mine as passenger. I was coming up to a stop sign with 2 cars waiting at the sign. I applied the brakes to begin slowing my car and when I hit the brakes they did not engage for at least a second or so. When the pedal was hit it moved towards the floor very easily and after a second or so the car jerked and began to slow down as it should have. I was able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop without incident, but it was a close call with the car ahead of me. If I had not developed a habit of early braking we would have hit the car in front of us. This was the first time that it happened but the car only has 8000k on it. I am taking to the dealership tomorrow where I bought it 9 months ago to see if they can find a problem. *Tr
Two problems, 1) accelerator IS hard to modulate when starting from a stop, will go at higher speed than wanted. 2) once in a while when coming to a stop, the brakes feel like they pulse, or the vehicle just hit a small patch of ice when there was no ice. a weird feeling. I don't know if the car actually goes a few feet further than I wanted it to or if there IS just a pulse that makes you feel that way. *Cw
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in US vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced. In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004L that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All Takata inflators produced with propellant 2004L contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated PSAN inflators. It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- Takata (now known as TK Global), the Independent Testing Coalition, and Exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of Takata desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004L (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004L is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L.The Office of Defects Investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated PSAN frontal inflators manufactured by Takata. This investigation will require extensive information on Takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated PSAN inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=EA21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). This investigation does not supersede EA15-001, which remains open.
On February 18, 2010, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE10-008 to investigate complaints of steering wander or drift in model year (MY) 2009 and 2010 Toyota Corolla and Matrix vehicles. The complaint descriptions indicated dissatisfaction with the on-center steering feel in the subject vehicles. Some drivers (~25%) related the feel to driving in a strong crosswind and others indicated that the effort and attention required to maintain heading increased driver fatigue on long trips. These complaints all relate to the system operating as designed and do not involve failure of any steering system components. The subject vehicles are equipped with an electronic power steering system that was introduced in the MY 2009 vehicles. The power assist, including on-center steering feel, is controlled electronically and is part of the system calibration.Toyota responded to steering feel concerns from some customers by issuing a technical service bulletin (TSB-0140-10 STEERING ON-CENTER FEEL) that released an optional EPS electronic control unit that has a re-calibrated on-center feel.Accordingly, this investigation is closed. The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that a safety-related defect does not exist. The agency will continue to monitor complaints and other information relating to the alleged defect in the subject vehicles and take further action in the future if warranted by the circumstances. For further details see the attached VRTC and ODI Closing Reports.
