10247503DESCRIPTION Van Hool has been informed about a harmless phenomenon regarding the front entrance door when the air suspension raising system is activated. Investigation has shown that when the raising system is activated, air is pulled out of the front passenger compressedair circuit causing the quick release valve in that circuit to a momentary switch. This can be noticed by a short soft sound of escaping air. This service bulletin gives step-by-step instructions how to install an additional singlecheck valve to prevent this phenomenon from happening.
10244199DESCRIPTION: Van Hool has determined that some of the seven fasteners securing the automatic belt tensioner base plate are subject to slackening. Tests have shown that these fasteners must be installed with Loctite 243 and tightened to a torque of 90 10 Nm (65 7 ft.lbf). To address this issue, Van Hool is conducting a field change program whereby the seven fasteners must be removed and checked one by one for length and thread pitch (1.75 mm). What to do next is explained in this service bulletin
10242220SUBJECT : Engine overheating due to an open or not properly closed access door with electric cooling fans CONDITIONS : This service bulletin does not entitle to any reimbursement. Your vehicle is equipped with electric cooling fans located at the inside of the access doors of the radiator and charge-air cooler compartment. To prevent personal injury due to running fans, a safety system with proximity switches prevents the cooling fans from running when the access door is open or not properly closed. The cooling system will in that case not operate causing possible overheating of the engine when this situation continues for a longer time. To prevent this from happening, it is important to follow the guideline below:
10237604Van Hool has introduced in production a lower value resistor in the defroster fan speed control circuit to improve windshield demisting. Customers who want to install this resistor can follow the step-by-step instructions mentioned in this service bulletin.
10235083Incorrect position of high-pressure switch and test connection on refrigerant compressor discharge service valve Van Hool has determined that the position of the high-pressure switch and the test connection on the refrigerant compressor discharge service valve has been incorrectly placed during the assembly process. The result is that the high-pressure protection system of the refrigerant circuit is not working when the discharge valve is in its normal running position (refer to figure 3 for service valve positions). To address this issue, Van Hool is conducting a field change program, the terms and conditions of which are explained further on under Warranty. Owners and operators of the affected units should first check the position of the high-pressure switch and, if necessary, modify the placement.

10174983Service Information: he purpose of this service bulletin is to inform you about the innocent traces of lubricant at the bottom of the transmission bell housing on new vehicles. They are caused by the protective anti-corrosion coating at the inside of the bell housing which becomes liquid at transmission operating temperature. This phenomenon is temporarily and no indication that there is a sealing problem! The lubricant can easily be removed with ordinary cleaning product.
10174982Service Information: This bulletin is being released as a reminder of the importance of wheel bearing preventive maintenance. Check the wheel bearing end-play every 50,000 miles*, and when having any work done on the brakes or any other component on the axle end.

The new oil filler pipe removes possible stress on the grommet (part #11147825) that seals the oil filler pipe assembly to the transmission housing due to vibrations of the oil filler pipe assembly. The grommet prevents moisture and foreign material from entering the transmission housing and, in this way contaminating the transmission fluid. New parts are supplied as a kit. This service bulleting gives step-by-step instructions to install the improved oil filler pipe assembly.
10129230Introduction of new transmission oil filler pipe assembly on vehicles with Detroit Diesel engine. The new oil filler pipe removes possible stress on the grommet (part #11147825) that seals the oil filler pipe assembly to the transmission housing due to vibration s of the oil filler pipe assembly. The grommet prevents moisture and foreign material from entering the transmission housing and, in this way contaminating the transmission fluid. New parts are supplied as a kit. This service bulletin gives step-by-step instructions to install the improved oil filler pipe assembly.
10127074Transmission routine inspection on leaks. Van Hool has issued this bulletin to advise customers of specific areas to include in their routine inspections for the Allison WTB500 transmission. Filler tube/dipstick tub mounting. If broken or loose brackets are found it is necessary to tighten or replace the bracket. Loose or broken brackets can cause unnecessary vibration. This will cause abnormal wear on the seal at the base of the transmission filler tube and can damage componetns causing them to crack or separate. Seal at base of transmission dipstick tube. If damage or leaking seals are found, it is necessary to replace the seal.
10118765Change weather strip mounting lip of luggage compartment door.
10118133Service Information: Bevel gear of front axle steering system Service records have shown that the grease in the bevel gear could affect performance at very low temperatures (below -20C/-4F). If the grease in the bevel gear becomes hard enough to affect drivability, additional manual force could be required to turn the steering wheel. This would be especially noticeable when the steering wheel is turned the first times after an initial start-up. The phenomenon could disappear later as a matter of course due to the warming up of the grease in the bevel gear. Additionally it has been determined that in some cases water has penetrated the bevel gear via the sealing thereby contaminating the grease. The penetrating water will start corrosion of the bearings. This problem shows a gradual, but continual increase of the steering forces and will not disappear at higher ambient temperatures or when the bevel gear is in use. Checking the bevel gear rotation torque will help in determining if the bevel gear needs to be replaced. If either of these conditions are observed, it is necessary to replace the bevel gear by the corresponding ZF bevel gear. Old and new bevel gears are interchangeable, but note that two different types of bevel gears are used. Also note that the new bevel gear has a mid-position which should be taken into account during the installation of the bevel gear.
10110137Field Change Program: Condenser fan relay failure Field reports have determined that there is a frequent failure of the 50 Ampere condenser fan relay K21M located in the junction box EKV. To address this issue, Van Hool is conducting a Field Change Program. Owners and operators of the affected units should follow the procedure laid out in this service bulletin to replace the condenser fan relay. From vehicle 48925 onwards, the vehicles are factory equipped with the new 150 Ampere relay (VH11374693) for the condenser fan control.

VAN HOOL trailing axle with DANA hub (TD925US 10-wheeler only) The change is NOT related to DANA drive axles with ordinary wheel bearings.
10110130Field Change Program: To check anchorage of passenger seats On affected vehicles it can be possible that too short Tee-bolts are used to secure the fixed seats. To address this issue, Van Hool is conducting a Field Change Program. Owners and operators of the affected units should first check the anchorage of all passenger seats (except rear bench seats) and, if necessary, change the fastening system.
10110122Field Change Program: To change preheater of Fuel Pro filter The above-mentioned units have left the factory with a Fuel Pro filter equipped with a 12V preheater instead of one for a 24V system. To prevent damage to the 12V preheater Van Hool has switched off the circuit breaker (Z069) of the preheater on these vehicles. To address this issue, Van Hool is conducting a Field Change Program. Owners and operators of the affected units should follow the procedure laid out in this Bulletin to change the Fuel Pro preheater.
