Had the oil changed and did everything I and the mechanics could do and it IS still there. The key keeps getting stuck and hard to start. At 9:00 pm et on 20-nov-2012 I was driving 20 minutes to my home from my in-laws at ~30 mph in monroe, ohio when my airbags malfunctioned. the car was towed to camargo cadillac's body shop for repairs the morning of 21-nov-2012. both a specialist from state farm (my insurance) and the inspector hired by gm declared that the airbags malfunctioned. gm?s representative inspected the vehicle on 03-dec-2012 and the report was received at gm on 12-dec-2012. it was not until 19-dec-2012 that gm approved paying for the repairs. Gm would not state what error occurred that caused the airbags to malfunction. My car was under warranty until 100,000 miles and had ~ 76,000 miles on it at the time of the accident. It took ~2 months for the repairs total. no apologies were made by gm for stress or for putting my life at risk. I am thankful no one else was affected by the accident, as I was driving alone and did not lose control of my vehicle. representatives from gm and camargo stated they are unaware of previous airbag malfunctions in gm vehicles. below are links to 2 articles which report about gm airbags malfunctioning. http://www.9wsyr.com/content/news/real_deal/story/gm-settles-with-couple-after-random-airbag/akku26vghuolxiw-3pjzzg.cspx http://extreme.mobile.msn.com/autos/blog/gm-owners-startled-by-sudden-airbag-deployment-while-driving/250030472 thank you again for taking time to review my concerns on the safety of gm vehicles. *tr

The chain in the transfer case of my vehicle became loose. at first the chain was skipping on the sprockets only when I let the car roll and then accelerate, it gave a jump until it got tight again, but after few hundred miles of driving like this it started to skip whenever I try accelerate and it's under load for example on a ramp to a freeway or uphill, this becomes really scary to drive. I'm afraid that one day it will start to roll backwards uphill while trying to accelerate. this issue IS discussed online on forums in length by the cadillac community and everybody IS wondering how cadillac has avoided this from getting a recall since it such a common problem! here are some links for proof how common this problem IS. http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-srx-first-generation-forum-2004/212418-diy-transfercase-chain-replacement.html http://www.carproblemzoo.com/cadillac/srx/transfer-case-problems.php https://www.bing.com/search?setmkt=en-us&q=cadillac+srx+transfer+case+chain. *tr

The chrome overlay on the inside door handle separated from the base metal of the door handle exposing a sharp edge on the inner side of the door handle, which cannot be readily visible until you pull on the handle when trying to open the door from the inside. The chrome overlay peeled up slightly exposing a sharp edge of the chrome that could cut the hand. The part IS not a very expensive part, and the incident IS not a major incident, but the separated chrome overlay could cause slicing of the hand or finger when trying to open the door. It seems to be a quality issue. *tr

I am writing regarding the cadillac SRX vin # [xxx] I purchased in 07/09 from massey cadillac. we have a serious problem with this vehicle and the number of times it has been in the cadillac repair shop since it was purchased. the most egregious defect IS the passenger airbag. the vehicle has been in the repair shop a total of nine times for the same issue. the passenger airbag does not activate when a passenger IS seated in the passenger seat. there IS a safety concern & and a potential negligence claim for cadillac because if a fatal accident were to occur and the airbag failed to deploy and the passenger was either injured or there was a fatality, cadillac has been on notice for months that there was an issue with this vehicle. the vehicle goes into the shop, stays for a few days, IS returned to me and the same issue happens again -- a passenger IS seated in the passenger seat and the airbag sensor does not register that a person IS seated there. note: as of 4/29/13 the vehicle IS sitting in the service department of massey cadillac orlando waiting to be repaired. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *Tr

Have had my SRX into the dealer twice for the same reason that upon acceleration of vehicle looses power and hesitates due the stability traction system . It will hesitate and then kick in. This IS very bad when trying to take off from a stop and into traffic and the car just looses the ability to accelerate. The engine IS gong but your not and then it will finally kick in. The dealer replaced a sensor the last time but this time said that they had the code but was unable to duplicate it when driving it. So they reset it and erased the code but unsure if that will work. They claim that they have never heard of it but upon researching this on the internet have found several people have had the same issues happen to them too. *Tr
