The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving approximately 60-65 MPH and coming up to a bridge, the contact stated that the roadway was a bit wet from ice and rain, and the contact stated that the vehicle ahead entered the bridge and started skidding, so the contact let up off the accelerator pedal; however, when the vehicle entered the bridge, the vehicle started sliding and the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed head-on into the concrete barrier surrounding the bridge and broke the two picking eyes that was welded unto the front sub frame of the vehicle. The contact stated that the front bumper was severely damaged, and he was concerned that that the air bags had failed to deploy. The contact stated that his chin struck the steering wheel, and his neck was hyper-extended. The contact sustained neck and shoulder injuries. The contact had not received medical treatment at the scene and was not transported to the local medical center for treatment. The contact stated that a Police report was filed and he received paperwork to request a copy of the Police report. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was later towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 228,000.
Vehicle stalls while driving and wont start again suddenly while operating. Fuel injectors won’t feed fuel line to restart or operate. Occasional start but then stalls continuously until battery dies from trying. Will start when priming the carburetor however will not stay running and stalls out.
Twice today, traveling at 75mph on highway [XXX] (northbound and then several hours later southbound) just north of Ardmore OK, I experienced a violent shaking of the steering wheel/front wheel shimmy. The vehicle was difficult to control due to the violent shaking that did not stop until the vehicle slowed to approximately 20mph. Once the shaking stopped the vehicle was okay to drive. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My 2005 F350 Diesel Pick up has suffered from the Ford death wobble on and off for the last 15 years. While navigating a left hand corner at speeds over 40 it begins to shake uncontrollably after hitting a small bump or pot hole until speed is reduced to 30mph or less. I have replaced bearings, uppper & lower ball joints, torque arms and other suspension parts without finding a cure.
Multiple times driving the truck at speed limit and hit small bump or a little bumpy part of road triggers the death wobble. Have to almost come to complete stop on highway to stop wobble.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle started to shimmy. The contact stated that at the time of failure the steering wheel was very difficult to turn. The contact stated that after slowing down the vehicle operated normally. The contact stated that the brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that she received notification in the mail of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20E090000 (Steering, Suspension, Equipment) however, her vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact stated that neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The all very common issues with the year f350 and the 6.0 l. Engines, are as such. The malfunctioning FICM. THE high and low oil coolers, the inter coolers and head studs. Also leaking break fluid .
Oil leaking from more than 4 parts of the engine and was told it’s normal for this model. Also, when driving over a bump or uneven pavement the trucks steering and suspension drives out of control.
Once I get up to 55-60 mph it just shakes really bad, I have had ball joints replaced bought new tires and it still shakes
[XXX], [XXX] approx age 40 lives and works at [XXX].[XXX] can also control the computers to cancel out and delete the use of catalytic converters, delete the use of DEF intake, delete the use of DPF particulate filters, and not react to controls such as manual braking or acceleration because the computer is controlling when and not the driver. [XXX] strictly states that he cannot have any emissions controls such as EGR, DEF, DPF, catalyst, or any pollutant controls. [XXX] intentionally set it up to have flaws and be dangerous for one reason: to get the customer to keep returning again and again with vehicle problems, wiring electrical problems, performance problems, overheating problems, and never ending engine problems not to mention transmission problems because the transmission could not handle the increased output of the engine. The hydroboost and ABS module and master cylinder that controls the brakes can be easily rigged so that when the driver stomps on the brakes, there is no braking action whatsoever for a 3-5 second delay before skidding the tires and locking the brakes. [XXX] altered the hydroboost and ABS module and master cylinder and the electronic controls to the braking system. [XXX] [XXX] partner admitted the hydrobooster and master cylinder was the problem because he admitted what [XXX] did as sabotage to the customer’s truck. [XXX] deletes the DPF and DEF and the electronics rewiring the truck. [XXX] has a pattern of keeping customers vehicles for excessively long periods of time: 42 days to change batteries, change fuel pump change PCM fusebox and rewire truck. [XXX] has removed the all the catalytic converters and he has removed all the EGR and emissions pollutant controls on [XXX]. [XXX] has sabotaged this truck’s braking system, electrical systems, fuse box wiring, electronic braking wiring, accelerator electronic control. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
[XXX] who performs automotive work out of his residence [XXX] and [XXX] of [XXX] have worked on this vehicle to spite the customer and to gouge the customer in unnecessary fraudulent repairs. They have deliberately set this vehicle up to fail with the braking system, the 6.0 engine being rebuilt to no avail, and constant driving problems such as pulling to the right and the left when brakes applied, constant overheating, constant oil temperature overheating, shuttering at highway speed, transmission failure, air conditioning failure, coolant system failure, electrical system failure, and every system that they have repaired, continues to fail. They specifically performed work on the electrical wiring and truck keeps blowing fuses. They performed work on the transmission and the transmission failed shortly after. They performed work on the engine and deleted illegally all the emissions EGR pollutant controls. They installed faulty wiring for the electric trailer brake controls and the electronic speed controls. They tampered with the air conditioning system causing the compressor to blow out, send metal through the a/c lines, and the belt stopped turning causing the serpentine belt to break, tear the fan shroud apart and shred. They also installed a trailer brake controller that was aftermarket and it caused brake loss and intermittent failure with the service brake system and speed control. Domingo also tuned the computer to make the truck output 550 horsepower which caused the new engine to fail prematurely and the transmission to fail as well. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
When driving 50 mph or above and hitting a bump in the road such as a bridge apron the truck develops an uncontrollable shimmy in the front end. It requires a firm grip from both hands to control the steering and lasts until the truck is slowed to under 20 mph and often until it is completely stopped. Luckily there hasn’t been another vehicle in the lanes next to me when this has occurred. If there had been it may have caused an accident. Tires are relatively new and the alignment is spot on. It feels like the same problem I had as a teenager in my 1959 Ford F100 when the king pins were worn.
Death wobble. Truck shakes violently when traveling +50 mph, empty, or towing or hauling load in truck bed. Downhill braking IS extremely dangerous. Turning while braking IS the worst.
TL* the contact owns a 2005 ford F-350. The contact stated that the vehicle misfired and caused the steering wheel to seize. Also, while driving various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to immediately stop. The vehicle was taken to formula ford lincoln (4318 middle rd, rutland, vt 05701, (802) 773-9168) where the cam phasers were replaced; however, the failure recurred after 176 miles. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 63,000.
While driving down the highway(45-55mph) vehicle dash lights, radio, windows all stop working. They come back on randomly. No change to little change when re-starting. Vehicle also loses power and the engine seems to pause and go, over and over like it's struggling. I've taken it to several ford certified mechanics who are baffled.

Ficm and icp sensor. I would be driving down the road and my vehicle would cut off on me while on the street. It would take about fifteen minutes or more to start back up(hot start). I've only had the vehicle for a year.
TL* the contact owns a 2005 ford F-350. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. After, restarting the engine, the vehicle operated normally; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (matthews ford, 1101 west sw. Express dr., broken arrow, ok) where it was diagnosed that the electrical wire harness was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed by the manufacturer that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 05v270000 (electrical system), although it experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 45,000. *Tt *js
The instrument cluster and radio cut out frequently while the vehicle IS running. This causes the speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, thermostats, and odometer to show there IS no power to them and the needles rests as they do when the vehicle IS off. the radio also cuts out during this time. this happens when the vehicle IS stationary, moving, on city streets, and on highways. there IS no warning when this happens. it will stay off for seconds to minutes. currently there IS no recall from ford. there IS information on the internet concerning others with the same problem so this IS not a single vehicle issue. I am currently unable to get a state vehicle safety inspection due to the instruments not functioning properly.
TL* the contact owns a 2005 ford F-350. While driving approximately 65 mph, the engine seized without warning. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to leif johnson ford (501 e koenig ln #1, austin, tx 78751 (512) 454-3711) where it was diagnosed that the fuel liner in the fuel tank caused the vehicle to seize. The fuel tank was corroded and clogged the injectors. The contact stated that the fuel tank, fuel injectors, and fuel filters needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer acknowledged the failure, stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall, and did not offer any further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
The gas tank has a defect it epoxy liner in gas tank corrodes and plugs up the filter ejector and shut truck down and rust out filters. the truck was been driven when it shut down , took truck to ford dealer, was told gas tank IS eroded and has plug up system including injectors, will be $8000.00 to fix, that there wasnt a current recall on item, but that for know problem exist.
TL* the contact owns a 2005 ford F-350. While attempting to start the vehicle, it failed to start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel injection control module, sensor, and turbo hoses failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. A dealer was not contacted. Also, while driving 30 mph, the engine began to rev and the contact had to brake to stop the vehicle from surging forward and colliding with the preceding vehicle. The vehicle continued to surge as the contact drove. The contact pulled over and turned off the vehicle. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the injection control pressure sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of both failures and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 05v270000 (electrical system). The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
Came up with a code to replace t.p.s. I replaced tps now vehicle IS having problems idling . I contacted ford explained to them my situation. I was told by 3 different people that whenever people with a 6.8 V10 have the code to replace t.p.s they end up replacing the whole e.t.b. IS there a recall for the throttle body ?
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
This investigation was opened based on 78 consumer complaints of severe suspension and steering wheel oscillations after the subject vehicles traveled over an uneven surface.odi was concerned about these complaints because many of them alleged loss of control and the loss of control occurredat speeds above 50 miles per hour.at the time these complaints were received, odi was also aware of the tsb 07-10-10 and early warning field reports that discussed the shimmy condition on the subject vehicles.since opening this investigation, odi has confirmed, based on consumer complaints, warranty data, testing conducted by vrtc, and odi inspection of complaint vehicles, that the owners of the subject vehicles are experiencing shimmy events on their vehicles.however, odi has also confirmed that owners typically do not maintain their tires at the pressures recommended by ford on the tire label.further, odi has found that in order for shimmy to occur, tire pressures must be substantially below (at least 20%) those specified on the vehicle tire label.odi considers these unsafe tire conditions to be the result of one of three typical situations.the tires are being improperly maintained, the owners are intentionally setting the tire pressures low to enhance ride quality, or aftermarket tires (not designed for use on the vehicle) are installed to change the appearance or function of the vehicle.the subject vehicles are intended and designed to be used as heavy duty vehicles and as such require that the tires be capable of handling the loads for which the vehicle IS designed and marketed.in order for the tires to be capable of handling these loads, the proper tire pressure must be maintained.in light of the information gathered in this investigation and ford's agreement to notify subject vehicle owners (now and every two years until the vehicles reach ten years from their production date) about the importance of maintaining proper tire pressures on their vehicles, further use of agency resources does not appear to be warranted.the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that no safety-related defect exists.the agency reserves the right to take further action if warranted by the circumstances.for additional information, see the attached closing report.
Odi has received 78 consumer complaints of severe suspension and steering wheel shimmy and oscillations commencing after the subject vehicles traveled over an uneven road surface. The majority of these incidents occurred at speeds of 50 mph or greater.thirteen of the complaints received by odi allege loss of steering control and that the vehicle changed driving lanes uncontrollably.four of the complaints received by odi allege that the vehicle left the road surface as a result of the violent suspension and steering wheel oscillations.in one case the consumer alleges that after the vehicle left the road surface, it crashed into a wooded area.additionalfactors contributing to the opening of this ea were early warning field reports, submitted by ford, describing suspension shimmy / oscillationsand a ford tsb (07-10-10) describing the suspension shimmy issue and how to repair the problem.ford has described shimmy as self-excited oscillation of the steering wheels with accompanying wheel tramp.this pe has been upgraded to an engineering analysis (ea) to determine if the shimmy condition that occurs on the subject vehicles creates a condition where the vehicle becomes difficult to control or startles the driver, thus presenting a safety risk.
