K2 motor IS recalling 1,921 aftermarket headlamps of various models sold for use on the above listed vehicles. these headlamps are missing the amber side reflex reflector which fails to conform with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Focus. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at an undisclosed speed and turning, the steering wheel became stiff, and the contact heard scraping sounds emanating from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the residence and inspected. The contact observed condensation on top of the power steering pump and the ground underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected, and a power steering fluid was added to the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to three independent mechanics where it was diagnosed twice that the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 198,000.

The driver airbag light keeps going off and on. I went to ford dealer shop to fix it. Only shortly after it came back on. I tried different tricks online and they dont last long. This is a common issue among ford focus owners. The connection plug from airbag to the steering wheel is bad and it just loses connection from time to time. Focus owners cant just DIY sensitive parts like airbag to temporarly fix it nor can we spend big bucks to visit dealersshop everytime. They charged me $140 just look at my car. And told me $700 for airbag replacement, when all that needs replacing is the faulty connecting plug. Ford knows this but is getting away with jeopordizing with customers lives for money. Please make this recall issue so ford will fix for all focus owners before people dies from this well known focus issue because the driverside airbag failes to deploy. Please.

The contact stated that while her mother-in-law was driving at an unknown speed, the front passenger’s side wheel detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure as a control arm failure. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that 2 weeks later the driver’s side wheel detached. The vehicle was towed back to the independent mechanic who stated that the control arm had detached from the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that 3 months later while stopped at a traffic light, the driver was unable to control the vehicle as the front passenger’s side wheel detached from the vehicle as well as the transmission slid into the engine. The transmission observation was by the tow truck company. The vehicle was towed to the owner's residence. The failure cause was not diagnosed by the dealer or an independent mechanic. The contact stated that the tow company informed her that the vehicle was unable to be towed on the flatbed due to the fact that the front end of the vehicle might detach. The contact stated that the headlights would also flicker on and off while driving. The contact stated that the independent mechanic replaced the light bulbs however, the failure continued. Console transmission shift lever detents not noticeable in any positon including Park (mushy shifter) and I am unable to remove ignition key in any position, on, off or lock. Therefore the car can be easily stolen by anyone (minor or adult) by simply breaking the window, reaching the unlock and driving off. Shifter, steering column, and key removal malfunction.

I got my vehicle from an auction site, so I do not have any history on it before 2016. The engine light comes on and goes off at regular intervals, especially, when the car IS in extremely cold or hot temperatures. The gas pedal, also, gets stuck, regularly, I would have to be very careful with my pressure on the gas pedal to avoid hitting anything. I have noticed this, over the years, with the car in stationary mode and while the car IS in motion, city or highway driving but, especially, after having to perform a hard brake in traffic. I would have to keep pressing on the gas petal to get it to release itself from whatever it IS allowing getting stuck to, then the performance of the car IS better, until the next time of it having to be unstuck. I have taken the car in for this issue but, the mechanics do not understand what I am describing. Of course, when these persons test drive my car they do not experience the problem, like I do, so there IS no documentation in my possession on any of these issues. another issue IS the key ignition switch system, the key gets stuck in the ignition switch coil thingy. I had to get it repaired because of an issue of something new happening with the battery and electrical systems being drained because of the key not being able to come out of the coil, after the engine light came, again, in highway driving speeds of 70 miles per hour. The dealership that I have been going to has not been able to give me any feedback as to what to do, other than to just say buy a newer vehicle. I have been hearing a sound, recently, when the key IS about to come out of the switch that sounds like a clicking release system click. I was just wondering if a spring IS bad in the system. These are all unknown components parts, by the technical name, however, the issues are real important for the safety of myself and others on the roads that I drive on.

On an icy road I braked and the ABS system engaged slowing the vehicle. After that, the brake pedal travels much farther before braking occurs during normal everyday driving. If I pump the pedal a couple of times the brake pedals engages the brakes like it used to. A local automotive repair business could not find anything wrong with the brake system. I did an online search and found my exact symptoms listed in ford recall 19s54. I also watched a youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0r46_unyyk8 describing why my brake pedal IS acting differently after the ABS event. My ford dealer told me there are no recalls active for my vehicle and that I would have to pay for any repairs.

Love my ford for the most part; however, there seems to be a multitude of sensor problems ... The engine light keeps coming on and has to be rest again and again. The "open door" light stays on when headlights are running. Trunk opening button does not always work. The window closing button only works part time on front passenger side. The knobs for the heating/ac no longer work. The air directional button has also stopped working. Recently, the windshield wipers suddenly stopped working but it sounds like the motor IS still working. I purchased my 2007 ff in 2011, paid it off in 2016. It now has over 235K miles on it. While all these issues have been a nuisance to contend with it has been a pleasure to own. I currently am working on getting the gasket changed for a second time, but that IS work my son takes care of. I have reluctantly began began looking for another vehicle, as this one IS finally wearing out.

The dust smells bad irritating eyes throat. As a couple days went by. Throat very sore coughing off and on. ? the chemicals ? Toxin,, can they cause problems later. inside both nazal passages very crusty and dried blood. Small skin burn on mid nose. Also headaches , feel dazed, hair and face had a weird smell , also severe ringing in ears. I am extremely concerned if this vehicle has had issues with toxic chemicals and what help can I get to resolve this and I am concerned. The police came rescue came we a grateful we were able to walk away but sometimes problems occur a few days later. I am extremely concerned about the respiratory impact and irritation if the chemicals can cause problems later. On 12-25-19. I just dont feel right. headaches also respiratory and throat concerns.

I have a 2007 ford focus ZX5 and have had nothing but problems with the climate control switches and cables I have replaced these several time from the control lever cable,heat control cable they have both broke several times and they will work for a while and then they break or will not work, I recently purchased the whole control switch with heat, climate control, and speed and the cables and the mechanism that it hooks up to and within a week it does not work again, when I go from vent to defrost it will not go to defrost it IS on the vents with this being said this IS very dangerous especially if your f=driving in bad weather it could cause and accident. I have looked up these issues and all of the older focuses have this same issue there are tons of videos and forms from other people with this complaint and if you call ford they advise there IS nothing they can do. That IS why there are so many accidents because of the manufactures make cars cheap and sell them and do not care about peoples safety. What happens on these cars that the flap door in the dash in front of the heater core IS so close that it melts the door so that the flap does not work properly what this should had been made out of IS a aviation type aluminum and the housing around it so it does not melt and possibly cause a fire in the dash.

The contact noticed smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. The force of the crash loosened the driver's seat belt. There were no injuries. The insurance adjuster stated that they would mail a repair estimate. The contact planned to visit a collision shop before going to a dealer. Donnell ford (7955 market st, youngstown, oh 44512) was contacted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact researched the failure online and believed the throttle body may have caused the failure. The contact found many complaints regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

I was going about 10 mph through a city street intersection when I ran over an uncovered water valve pipe in a depression similar to, but smaller than, a standard manhole well. Each left tire ran over the uncovered water valve. There was a loud pop, and I blacked out. The left rear tire had blown out after the left front tire sustained damage that resulted in a flat tire shortly thereafter. Also, the air bag in the left side of the back of the driver's seat deployed and hit me in the head, causing me to black out, and producing amnesia and other mental symptoms that lingered for several years. In addition, I suffered neck and back injuries from whiplash. The air bag should not have been triggered by an under-wheel impact at such a low speed.

Right tail light burned out, which I noticed in a window reflection as I drove away from an auto parts store. When I opened the tail light assembly to change the bulb, I saw that the bulb and its base and socket were scorched black, and the hole in the red plastic tail light assembly where the bulb has to go through was melted and warped. The red plastic had to be scraped with a knife to open the hole enough for the bulb to go through. I had to go to more than one auto parts store to buy a new socket. I had to use black duct tape to hold the socket in place. When I checked the left tail light assembly, I saw that it had also melted and the previous owner had also used black duct tape to hold the socket in place. I read online that ford has said the reason for the melting IS that the driver keeps his foot on the brake pedal too long. Since when IS there a time limit on putting your foot on the brake, especially since this IS required when you are at a red light, and often happens when you stop to consult driving directions and don't want to put your car in park with the emergency brake on! What IS the time limit? 30 seconds?

The light indicating a door IS not properly closed came on and will not go out despite all doors and trunk being checked. Safety lock does not engage when driving. I believe this IS similar to the focus recalls re the side doors in later years.

On october 14, 2008, odi opened pe08-060 to investigate allegations of cracked and leaking snap-in tire valves in model year (my) 2007 vehicles manufactured by ford motor company.the valves were supplied to ford by topseal auto-parts, a subsidiary of the shanghai baolong automotive corporation in china.valves made by topseal for aftermarket sale were the subject of two recent safety recalls by tech international (08t-018) and dill air controls (08t-028), the latter of which was investigated by odi in pe08-036 and ea08-022.the defect conditions addressed by the aftermarket tire valve recalls both involved inadequate resistance to ozone cracking due to issues with the supply of anti-ozonant chemicals to topseal for a period from july to mid-november 2006.the aftermarket valves were compounded with a blend of epdm and natural rubber, using a relatively low percentage of epdm (epdm provides inherent resistance to ozone cracking).hence, the need for anti-ozonant chemicals and the problems with cracking when those chemicals were missing or out of specification in some lots of valves.both recall campaigns involved inspection programs to identify and replace valves with visible surface cracking.although the topseal valves supplied to ford also appear to have been affected by the anti-ozonant supply issues in mid to late-2006, ford indicated that its valves were made at a different topseal production line and were compounded with a higher percentage of epdm rubber to meet more stringent specifications from ford.odi's analysis of complaint and warranty data provided by ford showed that problems with cracked tire valves were significantly higher for my 2007 vehicles produced from december 2006 through march 2007.ford responded by implementing changes in its material specifications for snap-in rubber tire valves and also increasing the quality and acceptance standards for valves imported for use in its vehicles.while the complaint and warranty claim rates are elevated for subject vehicles produced from december 2006 through march 2007, the rates of leaking valves are well below one percent of production for each of the peak months for all of the affected models.a substantial majority of the subject vehicles are equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) which warn the driver when any tire pressures drops below 25 percent of recommended inflation pressure. As outlined in a letter to odi dated april 6, 2009, ford has agreed to send letters to owners of certain my 2007 and 2008 ford, lincoln and mercury vehicles to provide information about the cracking concern. Letters will be sent to owners of vehicles built from november 2006 through may 2007.owners can opt for a free dealer inspection.valves exhibiting surface cracks or air leakage related to ozone attack will be replaced by ford under its normal warranty terms.ford expects to send the letter by approximately mid-may 2009. Based on the use of TPMS in the majority of subject vehicles and the relatively low rates of repairs associated with leaking valves and resultant tire damage, odi believes that the actions ford has agreed to take will provide effective and expeditious resolution for vehicles that were built during the period when valves with inadequate resistance to ozone cracking were most likely to have been used in vehicle production.further investigation of this matter would not be an efficient allocation of agency resources.accordingly, this investigation IS closed.the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist.the agency will continue to

- 10109070The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
