11011223SMOG/Emissions Test fail due to one or more Readiness Monitors not set Complaint: The vehicle has failed the State Emissions Certification because one or more of the OBDII readiness monitors are not completely set. Cause: One or more of the following Readiness Monitors are not fully set within XENTRY: Misfire Monitoring - Injection System Fuel System Monitoring - Injection System, Fuel System, EGR Valve, O2 Sensor NMHC Catalyst Monitoring - NMHC/Diesel Oxidation Catalyst NOx Aftertreatment Monitoring - SCR Catalyst System Boost Pressure System Monitoring - Turbocharger, Charge Air System Exhaust Gas Sensor Monitoring - O2 Sensor, NOx Sensors Diesel Particulate Filter Monitoring - Diesel Particulate Filter System Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Monitoring - EGR Valve and system Remedy: Please complete the required driving conditions to fully set the incomplete Readiness Monitor. DO NOT: - Erase any fault codes. If fault codes are present, process these and allow the readiness drives to clear fault codes. - Flash or SCN code the CDI or SCR control units. - Perform a manual DPF regeneration, unless instructed below. - Disconnect the main battery.
11009856Complaint: Check engine light with fault code: P300E3B the efficiency of component 'SCR catalytic converter' is not sufficient, is present in the CDI control unit CDI (N3/28). Cause: This subject is currently being analyzed for all 907s equipped with the OM642 engine. Follow the instructions related to this subject to collect information about your vehicle. After completing the checks, please open a TIPS case and at-tach the collected information.
11009855Complaint Check engine warning light active. Fault code P300CA8 or P300CA9 "Hot film mass air flow sensor malfunction" present in engine control unit. Cause These faults can be set if: 1. A leakage upstream of the exhaust gas turbocharger causing a to high EGR rate. 2. Carbonized parts, e.g., the intake module, housing intermediate flange on high-pressure EGR valve (assembly of exhaust pressure sensor P3) or the intake ports also let through too little air. 3. The air filter has been highly soiled, incorrectly positioned or has a deformation.
11009854Complaint: Noises when reversing slowly <5 km/h (squeaking) Cause: There is a seal in the electric drivetrain that seals off the coolant system from the electric motor. This seal is moistened with coolant during forward travel. As a result of the change in rotational direction when reversing slowly, it may be the case that this sealing ring is no longer moistened. Squeaking noises may occur as a result of the so-called "stick-slip effect". This behavior does not impact the function or durability of the sealing ring and electric drivetrain. Remedy: Do not replace any parts. Explain the cause of the noises to the customer.
11008717Complaint Check engine light with fault code: P300E3B the efficiency of component 'SCR catalytic converter' is not sufficient, is present in the CDI control unit CDI (N3/28). Cause This subject is currently being analyzed for all 907s equipped with the OM642 engine. Follow the instructions related to this subject to collect information about your vehicle. After completing the checks, please open a TIPS case and attach the collected information. Remedy Please complete the following inspections and tests: 1. Perform a tailpipe wipe test and document the results along with photographs. 2. Inspect the NOx connectors, pins, crimps, and harnesses between N37/7 and N37/8 to F152f59, Z7108, W105/3, and X30/81. 3. Provide actual values/sensor plausibility test results for all pressure and temperature sensors with the engine com- pletely cooled off for at least eight hours, the key on, and the engine off. Repeat the test with the engine/exhaust at operating temperature and the engine idling. 4. Perform a pressurized smoke test of the intake, charge air system, and exhaust to verify that there are no leaks. Apply overpressure (not exceeding 26 psi) from the exhaust pipe end and seal the system at the clean airline toward the air filter housing. Manipulate all components during the smoke test. 5. Provide diesel particulate filter actual values and regeneration history. 6. Inspect the SCR temperature sensor wirings and pins for electrical and physical correctness. Determine whether this sensor reaches operating temperature while driving and document the time it takes to reach operating temperatu- re. 7. Inspect the Adblue injector nozzle/s for clogging or leaking, and provide photographs. 8. With the Adblue injector/s removed from the exhaust system, perform two to three Adblue pressure tests and check for leaks. If leaks are detected, provide photographs. 9. Collect an Adblue sample, test fluid quality, and provide notes on its condition and quantity (color, clarity, separati- on, odor, etc.), along with a photograph for review. Also, provide a photograph of the spray pattern. 10. Separate the exhaust pipe downstream of the diesel particulate filter, inspect the diesel particulate filter and SCR, and note any soot, blockage, or damage. Provide photographs. 11. Inspect the SCR catalyst interior for dried Adblue residue, and provide photographs. 12. Perform several test drives at varying speeds to gather graphical illustrations (screenshots of the completed graphs in PDF format) of signals from NOx sensors. Provide three to four graphs or actual values of operational NOx sensors with XENTRY; see attachments for examples. Additionally, provide one graph/screenshot of the vehicle idling at operating temperature. Disconnect the Adblue injection valve, drive for approximately 30 minutes to exhaust all Ad- blue within the SCR catalytic converter, and provide two to three additional NOx graphs/screenshots with the sensor disconnected. (see attachments for needed graphs)
11005575Complaint T57 Electric step inoperative with warning on cluster. Cause Possible damage to end position sensors.
11005574Complaint Front door collides with fender. Cause Excessive dynamic stress results in permanent deformation of the lower hinge and causes the front door to collide with the fender. This can result in damage to the door holder and the front door at the threaded connection of the door holder.
11003187Mercedes-Benz AG, the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz Vans, has determined that on certain Sprinter and Metris vehicles, the B-pillar certification label might not contain information on the vehicle's rim size, tire size, and cold tire inflation pressure required under FMVSS 110 or, as applicable, FMVSS 120. In this case, relevant regulatory requirements might not be met. Mercedes-Benz believes this issue has no impact on vehicle safety. Mercedes-Benz intends to submit a petition to NHTSA for exemption from the notification and remedy requirements of 49 U.S.C. chapter 301, pursuant to 49 CFR Part 556, on the basis that this non-compliance is inconsequential as it relates to motor vehicle safety. MBUSA will conduct a service campaign to remedy new vehicles in dealer inventory. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will replace the Certification Label on the affected vehicles.
11003186This is to notify you of a Service Campaign to Replace the Rear Transmission Mount on approximately 76 MY 2023 Sprinter Vans. MBAG has determined that the rear transmission mount was not installed per production specifications. As a precautionary measure, MBUSA will replace the rear transmission mount and necessary hardware on the affected vehicles.
