After a recent trip to atlanta, I noticed a crack in the dash on the passenger side. this crack IS where the airbag IS located. now I have noticed the center of the dash IS collapsing in especially on warm days. nothing has been on the dashboard that would have created this crack. I fear that the dash may collapse all the way in or became a projectile in the event of a crash, especially if the air bag IS deployed.

Takata recall. We have been attempting to have the airbags replaced by GMC since being notified of the recall and were told they were not available yet to keep checking back. On 10/25/2017 schumacher GMC stated they will never be able to repair or replace the airbags and that it decreases the trade in value by $6000-$7000 because they cannot certify the vehicle. We fear for our safety driving this vehicle and has financially restricted us from moving forward on purchasing a new vehicle.

At 80,000 miles I discovered that my dash IS cracked on the passenger side. I have also discovered that this IS a very well known and common problem with gm vehicles and that it IS potentially dangerous to passengers if the crack (that IS sharp plastic) IS to cut or rupture the airbag in the case of an accident. My vehicle has always been garage kept and never kept outside. This IS a huge gm problem and there are thousands that need this fixed. There are even facebook groups with thousands upon thousands of people that have had the same problem across multiple vehicles. This crack literally happened out of no where.

Upper dash board cracking severely above the instrument panel as well as the plastic "clips" that hold the dash board in place broken loose. This will be the second time I've had to replace the dashboard (1ST time under warranty - broken plastic clips). The crack just suddenly appeared after I heard some rattling in and around the center of the dash board. Didn't notice until there was a 6" crack. Could possibly hinder steering column if plastic pieces from the crack fall into the area. Plastic shards could pose dangerous if accident were to occur. Numerous complaints and concerns online about this issue. Others report cracks by passenger airbag.

While driving on the highway my wife and I heard a pop and shorty after that some rattling. We looked and found that the dashboard had cracked above the instrument cluster. The dash has since cracked in the middle of the dash and right at the corner of the passenger airbag. We are concerned that it would seriously hurt a passenger if th airbag was deployed. There are alot of complaints about this defect and I would appreciate if gm would stand behind their vehicles. The service writer at the dealership told me if it was his he would just pit a dash cover on it. That IS not acceptable and I dont drive my vehicles like that. I have bought about 25 gm's in my life so I have been loyal even thru the bad times. Gm should pay to fix this.

While driving, I started hearing strange rattling noises from the dashboard. We I inspected the dash board, I noticed it was cracked by the upper left corner of the passenger side airbag on both sides. I'm concerned for my family's safety. Should the airbag deploy, the cracked dashboard will most likely explode, possibly causing more injury than the airbag was designed to avoid. This appears to be a common complaint from gm customers. While I recently paid to have my dash replaced, I'm hoping gm will issue a recall to address this issue and I will be reimbursed for repairing this defect.

My dash has cracked in two places. One on drivers side the other on passenger side close to airbag leaving a hole. Nothing had been placed on the dashboard it just cracked during the summer.

My dash started cracking on the driver side in front of the steering wheel. The crack IS now about 2 inches long vertical to the steering wheel. I started contacting upholstery repair shops and found out this IS a common problem with these vehicles. I'm so disappointed because it has been so dependable but this dash problem needs to be fixed in future models as well as recalled for the 2009 yukon denali.

Dashboard IS cracking at corners of the safety bags. normal vibration has caused the cracks in the dashboard to extend over the instrument panel. I am concerned about the safety of the crash bags and the instrument cluster due to the cracks.
