I recently purchased this vehicle, and within weeks it began experiencing intermittent and complete failure to start. The most serious incident happened in Phoenix at a Walmart parking lot. The vehicle refused to start at around 10 PM, and I was stranded with my daughter until 1 AM in the middle of a severe storm. The vehicle would not crank, would not click, and gave no warning lights before the failure. We were stuck inside the vehicle with no ability to move it to safety. This created a dangerous situation because we were exposed to lightning, heavy rain, and unsafe conditions in a dark parking lot late at night. If the vehicle had failed in traffic or on the highway, it could have caused an accident or left us trapped in a hazardous location. The failure is unpredictable and has happened multiple times, making the vehicle unreliable and unsafe to operate. The symptoms match known electrical defects documented in Infiniti/Nissan Technical Service Bulletins, including IPDM failure, BCM communication faults, ECM relay malfunction, starter relay issues, and CAN communication errors. These failures can disable the vehicle without warning and prevent it from starting for extended periods. I am requesting an investigation into electrical system defects for this model year and VIN because this issue poses a serious safety risk to me, my child, and other drivers.

The passenger airbag restraint system has failed. Specifically, the passenger seat airbag sensor has failed, meaning there is no current airbag functionality for the passenger in my 2010 Infiniti QX56. There was a voluntary safety recall for (R1606) for Infiniti QX56's with years 2014-2016 for the same fault. Obviously, this is a tremendous life and safety risk and should be resolved by the manufacturer.

I was driving straight down water st, upper marlboro, md on my way to work and the rear overhead console (console assy-roof) just fell on my shoulder and back seats. Apparently it was due to the heat on the roof that melted the 6 clips inside that holds it to the ceiling, I'm confident this has to be a manufacturer defect and needs be corrected before someone dies. If my two small children were in the vehicle it could have easily killed one if not both. Flimsy plastic brackets that can easily melt, should not be used in a vehicle like this. Currently, the only thing holding it up IS the main power cable. This should be a recall since there are thousands of infinity and nissan armada's with the same exact issue. And to think they want $90K for the new QX with cheap crap under the headliner. Really?!?! when I contacted infinity USA, they acted surprised and said they have never heard of such a thing, at least that IS what consumer affairs read off their script to me.

I have been the owner of this vehicle since june of 2014 and purchased it with 53K miles. the underbody has substantial rust for the age of the vehicle. this rust has seized the alignment bolts in the rear of the vehicle and it cannot be properly aligned without major repairs(in excess of $1500). a vehicle of this age should not have corrosion to the extent that a rear end alignment IS not possible. I have two other vehicles substantially older with less underbody corrosion. I believe the coating/parts used are defective and when I contacted infiniti they refused to compensate or make the repairs. this IS troublesome as the alignment can affect the stability of the vehicle and could result in a accident. *tr

Complaint: I am writing to notify nhtsa of the extremely lack of stability control with my vehicle. the lack of stability control occurs when driving over small uneven surfaces and causes the steering to be very difficult to control. dealer diagnosis: I visited an infiniti dealer on three separate occasions and presented my concerns. the service departments were not able to identify or rectify my concerns. on december 8, 2011 - sheehy's infiniti of annapolis, md - my vehicle odometer reading was at 23,539. On may 2, 2013 - jba's infiniti of ellicott city, md - my vehicle odometer reading was at 45,034. On january 20, 2014 - sheehy's infiniti of annapolis, md - my vehicle odometer reading was at 55,430. customer comments: several owners and previous owners of the 2008-2010 QX56 (via research) experienced very similar suspension and steering flaws. if this IS a flaw in the design of the vehicle, I do not feel that it IS the consumers financial responsibility to try to correct it, which IS why I contacted (via email) infiniti's consumer affairs office on january 24, 2010. after speaking to the service departments and reviewing my vehicle history, [xxx] (from infiniti consumer affairs) contacted me on january 31, 2014. [xxx] response was exactly like the service departments: she was not able to identify a problem. my wife normally drives this vehicle, but it became obvious to us that something was wrong around july or august 2010. there IS a serious flaw in the mechanical equipment and/or design of my 2010 infiniti QX56 4X4 SUV that scares the heck out of my wife and kids when driving it. this vehicle IS not safe to be on the road, but we have to drive it because it IS our only family mode of transportation. I own 2010 QX56. On november 16TH I was coming out of parking garage at chicago o'hare airport. After I pass the pay booth, with in 15 feet at the speed of 4 to 5 miles per hour, I lost control of the steering wheel because of some malfunction of the steering wheel assembly. Steering wheel moved 180 degree in one second and hit the pay-booth. Car hit the side pavements of the pay-booth and caused the flat tire, damage the body of the car and steering wheel got locked. All the power-steering fluid got leaked out. I had a fractured thumb because of the rapid movement of the steering wheel. Car was not drivable and ended up towing to the dealership. Dealer replaced the whole steering wheel assembly. this can be a major safety issue. I was just about to go on a highway. If this would have happened on the expressway. I am not sure I would be alive. *kb

The vehicle was taken to the dealer numerous times for the failure where the dealer performed a diagnosis and located the failure at the rear passenger wheel. The dealer aligned the wheel but the repair did not correct the failure. The failure mileage was 1,000 and the current mileage was 14,000.

- 10192842SERVICE INFORMATION Temporary tire Flat Spotting is common on New Dealer In-Stock vehicles that have not been occasionally moved. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90 (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown in this bulletin will prevent tire Flat Spotting. - 10192511SERVICE INFORMATION DTC B2190 (NATS ANTENNA AMP) can be stored for the following reasons: 1. Something other than an Intelligent Key is inserted into the Key-Slot. 2. An Intelligent Key issue. 3. A wiring issue between the Key-Slot and the BCM. 4. A Key-Slot issue. If DTC B2190 is stored due to 1 or 2 above, it will not erase, or go to "PAST", until a known good registered Intelligent Key is inserted into the Key-Slot.
