  Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2020 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and 2017-2020 Lincoln Continental vehicles equipped with the 360-degree camera system. Degradation of the camera's anit-reflective lens coating can lead to a foggy or cloudy rearview camera image.

  Risk and remedy

  Risk

  Lack of a clear rearview camera image can reduce the driver's visibility of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy

  Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 14, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S51.

  Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Lincoln Continental vehicles. The door latch pawl motors may not function properly, possibly resulting in a door latch not fully engaging.

  A door latch that is not fully engaged may result in a door opening while driving, increasing the risk of injury.

  Remedy

  Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the latch assemblies on all four doors, free of charge. The recall began October 14, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S03.

The failure had gotten progressively worse. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V077000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the repair was no longer covered by the recall.   At issue is the on board display “Park Brake Limited Function Service Required” sometimes followed by flashing brake light. When this happens vehicle needs to pull over and stop and release the parking brake to go back to normal. . Also, there are times when light flashes ithe alarm goes off. Multiple times to shut off. The diagnosis was a faulty ABS-Module, which is now obsolete by Lincoln. We have tried many venues to find one and major parts house said he found none available in the U.S. Talking with Lincoln they had no answers. Question not answered by Lincoln are we at risk driving this vehicle. At the time vehicle drives great, since the ABS-Module affects other main parts of the vehicle, we are worried if another function is disrupted will it cause an issue. Such as an accident. Question, can we continue to drive this car safely. All information I’ve included can be verified by Korum Lincoln in Puyallup, Wa. 253-845-6600. The obsolete ABS-Module is the problem. Our safety is a concern!

  When rotating tires 12/22/2023, upon removal of the right front tire, it was discovered that the inner sidewall had split open about midway between the tread and the wheel rim, for a distance of about one foot. There was no advance warning of this, and no warnings or messages displayed on the vehicle prior. As this was the first wheel removed, I am not sure what the condition of the other tires may be. As all tires are original equipment to the car, which is 4.5 years old and has approximately 18,000 miles on the odometer, I suspect that all tires will likely need to be replaced as they are all the same date code and DOT number. I have tried to upload pictures, but the webpage doesn't let me.

  On July 09, 2022 I delivered my vehicle to Heller Ford 700 Main Street El Paso, IL, (309) 527-6050 to have my original Cabin Air Filter eeplaced with a unit which I supplied. Their technician performed a commendable removal of the original unit. He found the original Motor Craft Cabin Air Filter had deteriated to a black fragmented crust which had clogged the blower motor to the extent the motor had to be removed and bown out, and reinstalled prior to the instillation of the new filter! I have no reservations against Heller Ford and it Service Facility Staff, mine is with Lincoln My car had 56,687 miles at the time of the service, The service manual recommends changes be made at 20,000 - 30,00 miles. My vehicle is highway driven no city stop and go traffic, I asked the sevice staff if they ever seen a cabin air filter in such shape- they said no I Purchased my vehicle from Sutton Lincoln/Ford in 2018 new off the lot and this vehicle is used for 100% pleasure driving. I feel the Cabin Air Filter was defective when it was installed at the factory! I contacted Lincoln Way - Case # 37545937 c/o Joan Turetsky Claim Service MGR.   The electric door latching mechanisms fail to fully latch the driver's door shut when pulled to the first detent. In order to fully engage the door latches, it was necessary to slam the door. The first occurrence coincided with unusually cold weather (34 degrees f). These door latches had previously been the subject of a recall which first delayed the dealer's ability to sell the car to me. Then, suddenly, even though the parts were reportedly still unavailable, the dealer claimed to have been able to use company connections to obtain parts early and claimed to have carried out the recall before selling me the car in April 2019. About a year later, the latches malfunctioned, draining the car's battery over the course of about two days, after which, the same dealer "reprogrammed" the latches and replaced the battery. Now trouble with the same door latches emerges again.

They turn on by themselves, usually after starting the car and will empty the washer fluid reservoir. The wipers do not respond to the controls. They too may turn on at anytime on their own. But they do not turn on when you operate the switch to turn them on. These occurrences happen regardless of the car being in park or in gear. After 2 weeks in the dealership, they have been unable to solve the problem and have been replacing various parts, trial and error, to no avail.

Lincoln tells me that I am not driving it enough and the battery IS going down. That then makes the computer to malfunction. The latest attempt to remedy this IS the installation of a tricle charger. The connection to it hangs out a hole in the grill where I suspect it will beat my bumper to pieces. They now tell me that I must store the fob no less than 50 feet from the car so that the fob talking to the computer will run the battery down. *tr

Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.

This occurs when the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SOC) drops below 50%. A warning may also set if the telematic control unit (TCU) has received an over the air update. The TCU powers down all communication when in this mode and app features are disabled. Manually start the vehicle to wake if from mode. More information is located in the app under: Account > Help > search 'Deep Sleep' in the entry box. If the condition remains, check the BCM 12v SOC. If the SOC does not change after charging the battery or after BMS reset is performed, continue with normal battery and/or BMS sensor diagnostics.
• 10214832Some 2017-2022 Ford and Lincoln vehicle owners may experience a condition of missing authorization, command and control, battery charging details or phone-as-a-key setup buttons/selections in their FordPass or LincolnWay App. This condition is due to an error within the FordPass or LincolnWay App and not due to a concern on the vehicle. Verify that the customers FordPass or LincolnWay App is at the latest version. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM)/remote function actuator (RFA) will not resolve this condition. • 10212957Some 2013-2023 Ford or Lincoln vehicles with modems activated through FordPass or LincolnWay may experience 12 volt battery drain symptoms when the customer uses non-Ford/Lincoln phone applications as an alternate channel to access vehicle commands such as door lock/unlock, remote start, vehicle location, etc. The battery drain may be caused by excessive calls for data through the vehicle network keeping it in an activated state. Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.
• 10210816Some 2017-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a TCU may exhibit inoperative remote features via Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization and/or no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed. To correct this condition prior to programming, remove the TCU fuse for 5 minutes then reinstall. Delete all previous session files for the vehicle. • 10205694Some 2016-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may exhibit a condition where the navigation voice prompts are inoperative after a SYNC map update. This may be due to an incomplete installation of the SYNC map software. If possible, using the original USB that installed the update, reperform the update and verify the navigation voice prompts have returned. Multiple reboots are expected when this update is being performed. Verify the Installation Is Complete message displays in the touch screen. • 10201062Some 2017-2018 Continental 2.7L/3.0L equipped vehicles may exhibit a fluid leak from the engine mount, engine vibration, and/or various powertrain diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), including but not limited to P0A14, P0A15, P0A16, P0AB6, P0AB7, and/or P0AB8. This may be due to a leaking switchable engine and/or transmission mount. To correct this condition, replace the switchable engine and transmission mounts with non-switchable mounts and reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM).
• 10201050Some 2015-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. • 10201034Some 2013-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00.
• 10201013Some 2016-2021 Ford or Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 or SYNC 4 may exhibit a blank screen or other various SYNC symptoms only when the vehicle is in transport mode. This is considered normal due to the power saving features enabled while in transport mode. It is beneficial for battery life to keep the vehicle in transport mode until the vehicle is prepped for sale. To prevent a SYNC system lockup during transport mode deactivation, follow the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure exactly allowing time for the SYNC system to complete its tasks such as fully booting up or powering down and shutting off before moving to the next step of the procedure. If the vehicle has been driven within 14 days and the battery state of charge is above 9.5 volts when the deep sleep message set, this is an erroneous message. Starting and running the vehicle will clear the message and allow the remote commands to function again. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that will be released via an over the air (OTA) update that is expected in June 2021. Replacement or reprogramming of the telematics control unit (TCU)/gateway module (GWM) will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
• 10189773Some 2017-2020 Continental vehicles may experience driver seatbelts locking up and difficult to extend. This may be due to the seatbelt retractor contacting the B-pillar sheet metal causing the seat belt retractor to sit on an angle. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to add clearance between the seatbelt retractor and B-pillar sheet metal.
• 10189580Some 2017-2020 Lincoln Continental vehicles may exhibit a concern where the belt minder is difficult to activate/deactivate. This may be due to the procedural timing. The Workshop Manual Section 413-01 has been updated to reflect the corrected timing required for this procedure.
• 10189560Some 2017-2018 Lincoln Continental vehicles equipped with easy entry/exit seats may exhibit a concern where the driver seat only moves 1 inch (2.5 cm) during easy entry/exit instead of the full 2 inches (5 cm). This may be due to the software in the driver seat module (DSM). To correct the condition, connect a battery charger and reprogram the DSM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. • 10187930Some 2018-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with TCU and WiFi Hotspot, May display Vehicle Hotspot feature not enabled on this vehicle when attempting to enter the Hotspot menu. When using the FordPass/Lincoln Way application, the customer may receive a message saying Wi-Fi has been disabled from this vehicle. Check the vehicle specifications or vehicle build information for the mfal code on the PTS website (Detailed Vehicle Specifications). If mfal = WAFAC or WAFAB do not replace the TCU, engineering is currently investigating this condition. Inform customers Ford is developing a software fix that is expected in early March. In the interim, let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment with the customer for early March. Monitor OASIS for updates.
• 10187827Some 2017-2020 Continental vehicles may exhibit a noisy or inoperative rear window blind. This may be due to corrosion within the rear window blind mechanism and/or poor engagement between the rear window blind motor and the mechanism. To correct the condition, floow the Service Procedure to install a shim kit and clean the rear window blind cables.
• 10186620Some 2015-2021 F-150, 2016-2018 MKX, 2019-2021 Nautilus, 2015-2021 Edge, 2017-2019 Fusion, 2017-2020 MKZ And 2017-2020 Continental vehicles equipped with a 2.7L/3.0L EcoBoost engine may appear to have a low engine oil level if the proper procedures are not followed. Refer to the Owner's Manual > Maintenance > Engine oil check section. When checking the engine oil level after shutting off the engine wait at least 15 minutes prior to checking in order to allow the oil to drain back to the oil pan. The engine oil level can be checked immediately if the engine has not been started. When changing the engine oil the engine needs to be at normal operating temperature and the oil filter removed before draining the oil. Allow the oil pan to drain completely for up to 5 minutes. Check oil level after filling by following the oil level check procedure.
