I had some warning lights come on for the asc and ABS systems being disabled. I took it to the dealer and they said the ABS pump was faulty and needed to be replaced for over $3000. I looked online and found several other people with the same issue of the brushes in the ABS pump sticking. That same ABS pump IS used in some BMW and jeep models with numerous people reporting the same issue. The asc and ABS systems seem like critical safety systems that should be covered for repairs due to the failure of a defective component. I would appreciate someone looking into this obvious safety issue. Thank you.

Luckly I stop the fire took it to a delaership to verify the cause of the damage but the technicinas told me that theres nothing they could do because the battery die there for it reset the computer module erasing all the data with the probable cause and nothing was done after that.. Bought a new engine and now after 20,000 miles I get the same issue but mitsubishi dose not wanna be resposible for a replace engine to which they replace.

On-dash warning light of "4WD system service required" came on. This warning IS indicative of a active center differential (acd) pump failure, generally due to corrosion from treated winter road surfaces and/or the inability to handle cold-weather climates. Car was previously serviced under a technical service bulletin (tsb) to delay activation of the acd pump for this exact reason 2 years prior to failure. Mitsubishi has yet to correct this manufacturing defect and IS currently refusing to honor warranty service of failed pumps under their 5-year / 36,000-mile powertrain warranty, stating that the pump IS not required for the vehicle to operate safely and properly. In contrast, a working acd pump directly effects the vehicle's handling, traction & steering - and all 3 driving parameters immediately behave differently when the pump shuts down in self-protection mode or has failed completely. This vehicle has a driver-selected setting for tarmac (pavement), gravel/rain & snow conditions - these settings are completely disabled when the acd pump has failed, or IS failing (on-dash warning with pump in self-protection mode). This issue effects several models (lancer, lancer evolution, ralliart, etc.) from model year 2008 to 2014, and hundreds of instances of this issue have been documented in online forums (and probably several-fold that amount that haven't been discussed online). Please look into this issue immediately, thank you.

Transfer case in this car omits a loud whining noise when driving forward. Noise increases in volume the faster the car IS going. This whine IS due to the wearing of the gears because of a faulty design. When the transfer case whine happens, it has a high probability of locking up which will cause all wheels to stop spinning potentially causing a serious accident and possibly death. *tr

Ayc/acl pump failure. Error code c161e. Seems to be a large number of these issues from other owners.

While driving normally the message "4WD system require service" came up. I bought the car used 40K miles and now it only has 43K miles. I have driven mildly since I bought it and have never abused the car. I heard it's caused by ayc acd pump failure, acd c161e. *tr
- Power train
Acd c161e was read in the ecu. It's ayc acd pump failure. I didn't drive hard. I drove normally which I usually do. And 4WD service required comes on. I searched a lot about the issue. Mitsubishi should have a recall about this its a common problem for evo I read. *tr
- Power train
Active yaw control pump that IS part of the car's all wheel control system IS failing. Pump IS not covered by manufacturer power train warranty even though it's part of the power train. Due to location of the pump, it gets sprayed with water on the road. This caused the pump to fail prematurely due to corrosion. *tr
- Power train
The acd / ayc pump failed. Can be dangerous to lose AWD system. Not covered under warranty. *tr

While driving the vehicle in warmer weather, a warning (4WD system service required) IS displayed on the dash and the s-awc AWD system IS disabled. The active center differential and torque biasing rear differential are disabled, which greatly reduces handling and causes the vehicle to react differently than normal in emergency situations. this IS the result of a failing acd/ayc hydraulic pump. Mitsubishi will not cover these pumps under the power train warranty, even though it IS a very common problem. The pumps corrode internally and are unable to build and maintain pressure. *tr

Indicated possible clutch failure/clutch pedal sticking issues to local dealership. Clutch went out before I was able to bring the vehicle in for service. I was charged $2700 out of pocket for a component that should have been covered under my warranty. I was issued a safety recall just recently for faulty clutch master cylinder issues for mitsubishi motors. During my arbitration with the dealership back in november 2012, the dealership had deemed there was no manufacturer defect, when in fact there was a component that was affecting the proper engagement and disengagement of my clutch. I am currently exercising all avenues in seeking a refund for repairs. When I spoke with mitsubishi they told me that its IS not part of the same assembly when indeed it IS; sharing the same fluids and lines this component was the sole failure point resulting in my power train damage. *tr

The s-awc (super all-wheel control) light came on and was taken to the dealership that same day. Mitsubishi flashed the ecu and the problem was fixed. I recently noticed the light blinking while the vehicle IS being operated. I contacted my local dealership and they informed the part IS not covered by drive train warranty and my vehicle IS not covered because it older than 3 years. The vehicle was purchased new in january 2010; this makes it 3 years 10 months old at time of incident with less than 36K on the odometer. *tr

4WD service required light appeared. Lights stays on for a few days. Went to mitsubishi dealer service and awc pump has failed. Im at 50,000 miles and car IS 4 years old, so im with in the 5yr/60k mile drivetrain warranty, and warranty will not cover it. It IS obviously a drivetrain problem. Let alone it has happend frequently to these cars. *tr

Caused by the acd/ayc pump being faulty which IS apparently a known problem with these cars as corrosion happens to the exposed pump. Options include a $2000-3000 replacement of the pump or rebuild one and hope it doesn't happen (which might since it IS exposed) again. Really hope mitsubishi recalls this item since it IS a common problem with all evolutions. *tr

Bought my vehicle as a certified pre-owned vehicle with 37,213 miles on it. At 43,000 miles, vehicle began having malfunctions with the all wheel control system and electronic stability control hydraulic pump. this should be an item covered under the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty, however, mitsubishi states that it IS not covered, even though it IS part of the power-train, and required to work for vehicle stability and safety. mitsubishi has continued to refuse to warranty the pump. this IS not an isolated issue, and there have been dozens, maybe hundreds of other cars with the exact same malfunction, many of these were turned away by mitsubishi even while they were under the power-train warranty. *tr

Requested dealer to repair under warranty a problem which can cause vehicle to become inoperable at temperatures of 20 below zero as documented in mitsubishi tsb-10-13-002. was advised by dealer and later by mitsubishi customer relations that this would not be covered by warranty since the problem has not occurred on this specific vehicle. I recommend that this tsb be considered for a possible recall in those parts of the country where the temperature regularly goes to 20 below zero. having a disabled vehicle at that temperature IS a safety issue. *tr

Drove out of my driveway and within 5 seconds ABS malfunction light came on as well as stability control. After further investigation I found that the drivers side rear ABS sensor was faulty due to the sensor not being sealed correctly by the manufacturer which led to corrosion and the sensor failing. Mitsubishi would not warranty this item even though its known to be faulty, mitsubishi even has a new part number for the sensor. This should obviously be a safety recall. *tr

My car caught fire last night and burned up while turned off, parked and unattended. another similiar situation occurred: boise --- a vehicle recall you may not have heard about that could put you in danger. imagine your car IS parked in your garage and a fire erupts under the hood of it -- spreading to your home. it's a national safety recall announced by mitsubishi a few months ago that we found has affected many drivers since then and now possibly one local family. a boise home caught on fire last month and fire investigators say the cause was undetermined, but they say it started in or near a mitsubishi lancer parked in the garage -- a car that IS included in the recall. mitsubishi initiated the recall of certain crossovers and cars a few months ago and has added additional vehicles to its list since then. the national highway traffic safety administration says the vehicles contain a defective cruise control switch that could lead to a fire at any time, even while the vehicle IS turned-off, parked and unattended. across the country there are stories about the vehicles catching on fire. in minnesota, a 2008 mitsubishi lancer evolution parked in an attached garage started a fire and burned a home to the ground. in orlando, florida, a family lost everything when their house burned down because their 2009 mitsubishi outlander burst into flames. boise fire investigators say a 2008 mitsubishi lancer was parked inside the garage and they were unable to pinpoint where the fire started because the hood of the car, the engine and the front of the garage were so badly damaged. the recall includes more than 5 vehicle models built from 2006 to now. mitsubishi motors says it has contacted owners to notify them of any recalls. *tt

- 10211530This Technical Service Bulletin was sent to dealers to explain the difference between normal dew condensation, which is a natural phenomenon, and water penetration caused by improper sealing or a defective/broken part.
- 10174066A service campaign will be launched December 19, 2013 to update the ECM software programming in certain 2008 - 2014 Lancer Evolution, 2009 - 2014 Lancer Ralliart, and 2009 - 2011 Lancer Sportback Ralliart built before September 25, 2013. This service campaign will be conducted in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. A Service Campaign Bulletin outlining the reprogramming procedure will be available December 19, 2013 on MEDIC and MDL. In certain affected vehicles, normal Electric Throttle Valve (ETV) fluctuations may cause actual torque to exceed Permitted Torque at low engine speeds. An improper Permitted Torque threshold may then cause false MIL illumination. A software update optimizes the Permitted Torque threshold value to minimize false MIL illumination.
- 10174064This Service Campaign Bulletin provides field fix procedures for reprogramming the ECM with new software to address false MIL illumination with torque monitor P1241 (2008-2010 models) or P061A (2011-2014 models) stored in memory.
- 10173900In cold weather, false MIL illumination may occur on some affected vehicles during turbocharger operation below 3,000 rpm engine speed, due to improper intake air volume judgement parameter. DTCs P1235 (2008-2010 vehicles) or P0068 (2011-2014 vehicles) - Boost/Air Flow Sensor Plausibility may be stored in the ECM. This TSB provides field fix procedures to reprogram the ECM with new software to address false MIL illumination with boost/air flow plausibility monitor DTCs P1235 (2008-2010 models) or P0068 (2011-2014 models) stored in memory.
- 10173215The timing chain upper guide was eliminated from certain vehicles beginning October 1, 2009 with 4B11 (Non-turbo or Turbo-charged) and 4B12 engines. This TSB provides updated service manual information.
- 10172523This TSB supercedes TSB-09-42A-015, issued October, 2009, to update affected vehicles, add Outlander Sport and add FAST Key case part numbers. Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) integrated key case and FAST Key Transmitter case repair kits are now available. If the plastic parts of the key are broken or missing, but the key functions properly, use the appropriate service parts kit instead of replacing the entire key assembly. When replacing only the key case, it is not necessary to program immobilizer, RKE and OSS functions. For integrated RKE keys, once the electronic components are transferred to the new case, the key can be cut to the vehicle's key code.
- 10172522The Mechatronic assembly (valve body and TCM) and the clutch assembly are now available as service parts. This TSB provides instructions for transmission overhaul that were not included in the service manual.
- 10172209Procedures are now available for W6DGA TC-SST clutch assembly replacement. This TSB provides the necessary steps to complete diagnosis, clutch assembly replacement, and complete "Teach-in" procedures for the TCM. This TSB is used together with the Service Manual, TSB-16-22-003: "TC-SST Transmission and Mechatronic Assembly Diagnosis and Repair," and TSB-13-22-003: "TC-SST Diagnosis and Overhaul - Service Manual Revision," to provide procedures for the complete and accurate diagnosis and repair of the TC-SST transmission.
