The driver's seat side leg bolster broke. Upon removing the seat from the vehicle it was found that metal had broken which allowed the bolster to break. Seems dangerous to me considering the cars capabilities and that it IS something that can affect the driver in a turn.

2012 evo x gsr - from jba mitsubishi (glen burnie, md). at 31,651 miles - I was in a fast-food drive thru line ordering breakfast. that IS, 0MPH. All of a sudden, I hear a chime and see my instrument panel flash. my driving-mode/status light (which shows tarmac/snow/gravel) had turned off. another light illuminated, saying '4WD service required'. my evo IS 100% bone stock, no mods/tune. I call around and do some research. I check my fluids, tires (all 4, brand new, properly balanced), etc. a little while later, I discover that it IS my ayc pump. this IS a known issue with evo's and needs to be recalled. luckily, mine went out just before warranty. otherwise, it'd cost between $2500-$3k to fix on my own dime. I live in md - we get snow every single year. Apparently, the salt and weather changes can cause corrosion and damage to the pump. Mitsubishi offers a replacement (with 1YR, 12K mile warranty). But I've seen folks in canada who burn thru 3-4 pumps a year. Meaning just because of this 1 part, an evo IS a terrible car to have in cold-weather states. mitsubishi needs to recall this part - or offer to repair free whenever the pump goes out. even with proper preventative maintenance - I do not want to pay $2500+ every time the pump goes out. *tr

The car IS very difficult to shift. From stop to about 40 mph, the shifting feels like doesn't want to go into gear. I was told this IS normal. The car seems to shift a lot better at higher rpms; probably due to less of a synchronization problem. Miss shifts cause delay in acceleration. *Tr

• 10174066A service campaign will be launched December 19, 2013 to update the ECM software programming in certain 2008 - 2014 Lancer Evolution, 2009 - 2014 Lancer Ralliart, and 2009 - 2011 Lancer Sportback Ralliart built before September 25, 2013. This service campaign will be conducted in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. A Service Campaign Bulletin outlining the reprogramming procedure will be available December 19, 2013 on MEDIC and MDL. In certain affected vehicles, normal Electric Throttle Valve (ETV) fluctuations may cause actual torque to exceed Permitted Torque at low engine speeds. An improper Permitted Torque threshold may then cause false MIL illumination. A software update optimizes the Permitted Torque threshold value to minimize false MIL illumination.
• 10174064This Service Campaign Bulletin provides field fix procedures for reprogramming the ECM with new software to address false MIL illumination with torque monitor P1241 (2008-2010 models) or P061A (2011-2014 models) stored in memory.
• 10173900In cold weather, false MIL illumination may occur on some affected vehicles during turbocharger operation below 3,000 rpm engine speed, due to improper intake air volume judgement parameter. DTCs P1235 (2008-2010 vehicles) or P0068 (2011-2014 vehicles) - Boost/Air Flow Sensor Plausibility may be stored in the ECM. This TSB provides field fix procedures to reprogram the ECM with new software to address false MIL illumination with boost/air flow plausibility monitor DTCs P1235 (2008-2010 models) or P0068 (2011-2014 models) stored in memory.
• 10172523This TSB supercedes TSB-09-42A-015, issued October, 2009, to update affected vehicles, add Outlander Sport and add FAST Key case part numbers. Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) integrated key case and FAST Key Transmitter case repair kits are now available. If the plastic parts of the key are broken or missing, but the key functions properly, use the appropriate service parts kit instead of replacing the entire key assembly. When replacing only the key case, it is not necessary to program immobilizer, RKE and OSS functions. For integrated RKE keys, once the electronic components are transferred to the new case, the key can be cut to the vehicle's key code.
