This is the second set of sunvisors on my Murano definite safety hazard when hitting a slight bump in the road, they fall down blocking your vision all of a sudden. While driving, I have to push it back up and most of the time it falls right back down. This is something that Nissan should be held accountable for as $200 a set is very expensive when they keep breaking. If I get hurt because of them in a car accident, I will be suing Nissan.

brakes/ ABS brake system: Still in use currently. Not reproducible, very erratic; once every few days of operation. No outside inspections to date. No warning lights of messsages/ error codes before or after the brake failure. Event: Brake will fail on rare occasions randomly. No particular event precedes the failure: (corner; speed; trip duration; road vibration; etc). When brake is pressed, pedal drops to near the floor before giving some back pressure. No noticeable speed reduction here. If brakes are pumped they will begin to delevope pressure with some reduction in velocity. After several more pumps the brake activation returns and car can be stopped. No accident from this problem yet. Brake reservoir is full and has been full during these problems. This seems very similar to the 2009 murano recall for ABS system failure. NHTSA Campaign Number 18V916. Murano did a prior recall repair around 2020ish, and changed to DOT4 I think. That is the indicated fluid for this system. Very dangerous, and completely unexpected failure; luckily the emergency brake still works.

I am reporting an ABS/braking safety issue with my 2010 Nissan Murano. My vehicle was included in Nissan campaign P0A08/NTB21-047 involving brake fluid and the ABS actuator. Before the campaign, I had experienced an intermittent braking problem during a loss-of-traction/ABS event. When Nissan performed P0A08 on 8/8/2023 at 191,017 miles, I specifically reported the problem. The Nissan repair order states: “CUSTOMER STATES IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING TO FLOOR.” The ABS actuator passed Nissan’s campaign inspection, but because of my complaint, the service manager contacted Nissan/WCC regarding actuator replacement. The repair order states: “SERVICE MANAGER CALLED WCC TO VERIFY COVERAGE OF ABS ACTUATOR AFTER IT PASSED INSPECTION FOR RECALL.” Nissan case J0003385169 was opened. The intermittent condition could not be duplicated during a test drive, so the actuator was not replaced. On 8/20/2026, ABS, BRAKE, SLIP and VDC OFF warning lights began illuminating while driving. Nissan diagnosed ABS code C1140 – ACTUATOR RLY. After further testing, the Nissan repair order states: “CIRCUIT GOOD… INTERNAL CONCERN WITH ABS ACTUATOR.” Nissan now recommends replacing the ABS actuator. My safety concern is that this is the same actuator that passed the P0A08 inspection and remained in service despite my documented brake-pedal-to-floor complaint. I ask NHTSA to review whether the P0A08 inspection/remedy adequately identifies intermittent ABS actuator failures and whether similar vehicles may remain at risk.

As I was driving my children to school the wheel became very hard to steer which I ended up in a ditch after 10 minutes I was able to start the car up again and drive out of the ditch. As I make tight turns the lights inside the car turn on the seatbelts in the back do not work my kids sit back there it’s a problem they both still have to be in car seats

The radio volume knob has an electrical defect. If you touch or use the volume knob the volume will automatically increase unexpectedly. This is a problem when driving. It will turn up so loud and unexpectedly that I have all most crashed my car. At this point the stereo is inoperable. Also was told the steering column has a crack. I bought this car brand new. That feels like a defective part and not something that the owner should have to replace, but should be the responsibility of the car maker.

Vehicle will not accelerate. I will drive it a few miles, and it will be just fine. I drive it more, and it will stall and not accelerate. In fact, on 6/30/25, I was getting on the highway and it wouldn't accelerate and 8 warning lights came on. It has a brand new battery, alternator, idle sensor, and throttle position sensor. My dad and grandpa both know a lot about cars, and they are at a loss.

I began hearing a rattling sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. I believed it was possibly the suspension, as the vehicle would also bounce more often than expected when going over any irregularities in the road (potholes, speed bumps, normal wear on roads, etc). I brought it to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, and they found no issues. I had previously replaced all 4 tires and brakes before hearing this sound, and nothing was brought to my attention then, either. The noise continued, and I brought the vehicle to another mechanic, where the damage was found immediately. The frame had corroded to the point where the mechanic advised me to not even drive home, rather have the vehicle towed to the dealership to be assessed and checked for a recall. Multiple incidents similar to mine have been found - all starting after 100k miles - but none have resulted in an official recall notice.

My 2010 Nissan Murano incurred transmission and transfer case failure @ around approximately 95,000 miles despite keeping up with the required maintenance. This was in a form of erratic jerking, overheating, and decreased pick up speeds. However, the vehicle did not have any service lights indicating further issues on the dash. I then went to 2 Nissan service centers to request that Nissan fix their faulty parts on 11/11/22 and 12/02/22. Both Service Centers acknowledge faulty parts by Nissan, but refused stating that my car is not under warranty and therefore, Nissan would not cover the cost. Nissan has had multiple class action law suits regarding their production of these parts and yet is evading responsibility. Since then, my car has sat in my driveway undriveable as Nissan continues to avoid rectifying the situation. I now owe the bank almost $3,000 for a car I can no longer drive and bank will not settle out the debt to the worth of the car. I now have to consider a voluntary repo which will ultimately negatively affect my credit and force me into a hardship. I cannot utilize this vehicle to go back and forth to work.

While driving 70+ mph on a federal highway at night, I heard a loud explosion noise followed by glass raining into my vehicle cabin. (The shade was open.) We quickly closed the shade which caused a few more shards of glass to fall into the car. The noise caused by air vibrating the sunroof shade was nearly deafening but we were two hours drive away from home and decided to continue driving praying that no one would toss a cigarette butt or anything similar out of their car where it might land on our now-exposed roof. It wasn’t until we were able to exit to a gas station that we could see the extent of the damage and take photos.

I called Nissan to let them know what had happened with the dash cracking and the airbag warning, and that this was a safety issue that has occurred through no fault of mine. The brake pedal suddenly feels spongey out of nowhere. The car stops when the pedal hits the floorboard of the car. This has happened to me a couple of times now ever since I had my car. I have took it to my local pep boys but all they did was replace my brake pads. It fixes the problem for a couple months but it ends up happen again. There are no warning lights showing up for my ABS or any of the braking system.

When stepping on the gas after stopping at a stop light or similar situation, the car acts like it's stalling for 2 - 3 seconds before finally going forward. It's intermittent. I've been told by the Nissan dealership that when they did the diagnostic check, that the error code P0868 came up long enough to be caught for the report but did not stop at that error code. This error code says it's "Fluid pressure low". My Nissan advisor said that it is not a hard failure because it did not stop at this error. However, they do recommend that the transmission be replaced. I have been reading a lot online about other Murano owners having this similar issue or an issue with their transmission. I had it at the dealership twice before this last result I mentioned above.

• 10199177Brake Fluid Flush Voluntary Service Campaign Dealer Announcement: Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Antilock Braking System (ABS) actuator on 320,616 specific model year 2010-2014 Nissan Murano, 2011-2014 Murano CrossCabriolet, and 2011-2015 Quest vehicles identified in Service Comm. All affected vehicles will have the brake fluid replaced (DOT3 to DOT4 fluid). Dealers will inspect the ABS actuator using Consult. If needed, the ABS actuator will be replaced. An owners manual insert will be provided to customers with instruction to use DOT4 brake fluid to prevent the subject condition from reoccurring, and the brake fluid reservoir cap will be changed. A potential chemical reaction between the valve surface coating (Chromate layer) and the DOT3 brake fluid may cause a Gel to form around the normally closed (NC) valve. In some cases, it can cause the NC valve to be stuck open. The NC valve inside the ABS actuator may stick open and direct additional brake fluid flow to a reservoir inside the ABS actuator. As a result, the brake fluid pressure may fluctuate and the customer may experience increased brake pedal travel. Affected vehicles are not subject to stop sale. What Dealers Should Do: 1.Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaigns I.D. P0A08. Refer to NPSB15-460 for additional information 2.Dealers are requested to remedy any affected vehicles in dealer new or pre-owned inventory to ensure customer satisfaction. 3.Dealers should use NTB21-047 to correct any vehicles subject to this campaign. All inspections should have a technician completed form in ASIST. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number P0A08 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. • 10192840SERVICE INFORMATION Temporary tire Flat Spotting is common on New Dealer In-Stock vehicles that have not been occasionally moved. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90 (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown will prevent tire Flat Spotting. See this bulletin for further detail.
• 10192805IF YOU CONFIRM A refrigerant leak at a refrigerant pipe/hose joint location. ACTIONS 1. Inspect the metal surfaces of the pipe/hose joint for damage or contamination.
