Certain sport utility vehicles and trucks fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 110, "tire selection and rims." these vehicles have an incomplete tire rim designation on the certification/tire label located on the driver's door edge. in addition, the label may also be missing the tire load rating on the label.…

If a customer replaces a wheel and only relies on the rim size designation that IS indicated on the label, a wheel that IS of a different rim contour designation may be installed. it may be difficult or impossible to mount the tire on a wheel with the wrong contour. if the tire IS mounted on the wheel with the wrong contour, the wheel and tire may not perform as intended, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
A label that will correct the label originally installed will be mailed to consumers along with installation instructions. the customer will have the option for dealers to install the label. the recall begaon on november 7, 2006. owners should contact cadillac at 1-866-982-2239, chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, and GMC trucks at 1-866-996-9463.

The contact indicated that the crack had extended to the passenger's side air bag housing. The local dealer haley buick GMC airport located at 5500 s. Laburnum ave, richmond, va 23231 was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000.

I called again today, 2/20/29 about the same issue. both times I have been told they do not have any parts to correct the problem. When I went to register my vehicle for the upcoming renewal period maryland dmv wrote "please contact your local manufacturers authorized dealership to resolve at no cost." so, I am pretty confused as what to do. it had been exactly 2 years since my first notice of this problem and I am still being given the same answer while I am also still being told to contact a dealership to get this repaired. What am I supposed to do? am I just being given the runaround? please advise as I do not want to endanger my family or anyone else should this explode unexpectedly. thank you. Dashboard IS cracked in several places near the passenger airbag and instrument cluster. it may eventually crack enough that big pieces will pop loose and chunks of my dash will be gone. ABS glue IS the only thing that works to join the seams together to stop the dash from shaking and making tons of noise. the shaking likely caused the cracks to grow more also prior to me finally through lots of trial and error successfully gluing it. hopefully it will keep the current crack from growing. but only time will tell. and new ones will likely appear if the old ones do not spread. also, the air vent cover has broken in a long crack, and even worse most of the tabs that hold it down have broken off. thus, it sticks up looking ugly and rattles. this too IS likely to break up more from all the rattling.

Takara recall. to whom it may concern, I received a notice from gm two years ago identifying my vehicle as affected by the airbag recall and was also informed I would be notified when my local dealership would be able to make repairs. I have called my local dealership since receiving the notice and I am always told that there are no parts and I will be notified when repair IS available. My complaint IS that I have no idea when, if ever, gm plans to repair my vehicles airbags. I feel that gm IS taking it's time in hope that affected vehicles age out and are no longer on the road. What are my options of having my vehicle repaired by gm?

TL* takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet avalanche 1500. The contact stated that there was a constant loss of speed and premature motor failure. The motor was replaced by an independent mechanic, but the electronic stability control (esc) warning indicator kept illuminating. The contact stated that the manufacturer issued four tsbs on the esc. The dealer (williams chevrolet, 2600 US-31, traverse city, mi 49684, (231) 946-1111) was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted to determine if the remedy and part were available for nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags). The approximate failure mileage was 140,000.

Defective dashboard deck area surrounding passenger airbag IS heavily cracked with sharp edges which pose a hazard if airbag IS deployed. Sharp dashboard crack edges on drivers side and passenger side may be struck by driver or passenger in an accident or may become air born resulting in sever injury and/or blindness in an accident situation.

"Takata recall" takata corporation ('takata') has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2011 cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, chevrolet avalanche, silverado 1500, suburban, tahoe, GMC sierra 1500, yukon, yukon XL, and 2009-2011 chevrolet silverado 2500/3500 and GMC sierra 2500/3500 vehicles. This IS based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to gm are defective. Gm has submitted to nhtsa a petition for inconsequentiality and nhtsa has granted gm until august 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. If the petition IS denied, gm will conduct a recall of the airbag inflators covered by takata's defect information report. For more information visit www.regulations.gov and search for docket no. Nhtsa-2016-0124. this IS there remedy to the problem. The necessity of a remedy IS dependent upon nhtsa's decision on gm's petition for inconsequentiality. Additional information will be available following that decision. In the meantime, you can also check the status of this recall at my.gm.com/recalls. Gm considers your vehicle safe to drive. Nothing has happen and I don't want anything to happen. Instead of being reactive, I'm trying to be proactive.

In a letter dated august 27, 2008, general motors corp. (Gm) notified nhtsa that it will conduct a safety recall (nhtsa recall number 08v-441) to address a safety relateddefect that can result in engine compartment fire in approximately 850,000 vehicles equipped with a heated windshield washer fluid option.the subject vehicles of this investigation comprise over three-quarters of the recall population. According to gm, a short circuit on the printed circuit board for the windshield washer fluid heater module may overheat the control-circuit ground wire. This may cause other electrical features to malfunction, create an odor or cause smoke and in rare cases it may cause a fire.as a remedy, gm dealers will install a wire harness with an in-line fuse. In addition to the subject vehicles, several other gm models with the heated windshield washer fluid option are included in recall 08v-441: my 2006-2008 buick lucerne (manufactured august 2005 through november 2007); my 2008 buick enclave (manufactured february 2007 through april 2007); my 2006-2008 cadillac DTS (manufactured may 2007 through november 2007); my 2007-2008 saturn outlook (manufactured august 2006 through april 2007); and my 2007-2008 GMC acadia (manufactured august 2006 through april 2007) vehicles.gm IS instructing owners to take their vehicle to a dealer for service if they experience symptoms of windshield washer heater module short circuits. In response to an information request letter sent by the office of defects investigation(odi) during preliminary evaluation pe08-010, gm provided odi with 41 allegations of non-crash engine compartment fires including 16 allegations of fires originating with the ignition in the off position.one of the fires was determined to be caused by an arson event.odi has also received 5 reports, 4 of which are of duplicative of reports provided by gm, alleging non-crash engine compartment fires in the subject vehicles.in total, odi IS aware of 41 non-crashengine compartment fires in the subject vehicles that are unrelated to arson.eight of the 41 fire allegations also allege property damage as a result of the fires.this preliminary evaluation has been upgraded to an engineering analysis (ea08-010) to further assess the scope, frequency, origin and cause of the alleged non-crash related engine compartment fires in the subject vehicles.
