This condition may cause inadequate sealing and loss of engine oil, possibly resulting in a fire.
Remedy
Honeywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. the recall began during november 2007. owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075.

This condition may cause an inadequate seal at the connection, potentially leading to a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, a fire could occur.
Remedy
Honeywell will notify owners and replace the fuel filters free of charge. the recall began on october 18, 2006. owners may contact fram customer service at 1-800-890-2075 (option 1).

These vehicles can experience extended stopping distances during ABS stops on certain multiple surfaces, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will modify the computer program which operates the ABS unit on some vehicles, or replace the computer on others to improve the performance of the ABS on these surfaces.
Vehicle description: light duty pickup trucks, vans and motorhomes equipped with electronically fuel injected 6.5L diesel engine. this IS not a safety recall in accordance with federal regulation part 573. However, it IS deemed a safety improvement campaign by the agency. the campaign will improve the overall driveability of these vehicles.

Certain vehicles can exhibit some driveability concerns such as poor throttle response, stalling, misfire, poor hot or cold starting, extended cranking of a hot engine, or stalling after start. trucks with manualtransmissions can exhibit poor acceleration from start or could stall during deceleration.
Remedy
Dealers will install some recently developed enhancements which will improve the overall driveability of these vehicles.
The front driver and passenger seat back height does not conform to the requirements of fmvss no. 202, "head restraints."

Consequence of non-compliance: seat occupants are subject to increased risk of injury in the event of a sudd stop or accident.
Remedy
Sherry designs will provide an attachable headrest for the dealer or customer to add to the seats.
The transformer used to power the neon center lightbeam can overheat and catch on fire.

Risk
The overheating and fires caused by the neon transformer can result in damage to the lightbeam assembly, the roof of the vehicle, and could result in a vehicle fire.
Remedy
Mark III dealers will modify the assemblies to eliminate the neon lighting fixture in the vehicle and replace it with incandescent lights operating directly from the vehicle 12-volt battery.
The manufacturer's certification label and/or the driver air bag advisory label may be missing from the vehicles, which does not conform to the requirements of 49 cfr 567.

Consequence of non-compliance: owners of vehicle would be unaware of the load capacity of the vans, the van build date, and would not have any assurance that the vans meet the federal motor vehicle safety standards.

While driving approaching stoplight brakes would not engage. Pressed brake pedal to floor and drive van up and over curb while using emergency brake. Contacted dealer where van was towed. Said brakes needed to be bled again. Brakes bled and pedal still felt the same-spongy. Told this IS normal. Driving home on winddy road,applied brakes nothing happend released brakes and tried again and the front brakes locked up. Dealer said to bring back. They inspected system said bad master cylinder. Replaced master cylinder and still spongy brakes. Dealer said this IS normal. They still do not grip as strong despite all brake components replaced except for the vaccume booster and ABS module. I also no longer hear the ABS module come on like it used to before all of this, the ABS light does come on and goes out after starting van. The owners manual states you should hear the ABS pump come on when starting van then come on again at about 7MPH. It does not. Told dealer this and they said the manual IS wrong and that the brakes are fine. Yeah, right. When going 55 mph down hill van would not slow down unless I hold the brake pedal almost all the way down or use the emergency brake and come to a very fast stop. As this being a family van we a scared to drive it. Other mechanics came to conclusion the ABS IS at fault. Possible air in chambers and has to be serviced by dealer computer. Dealer says the ABS IS fine. We have also found recall on ABS, but our van IS not included according to g.m. please help us get this resolved!! thank you *tr

Dt*: the contact stated while driving less than 10 mph on an icy road, a vehicle stopped short in front of the contact's vehicle. in an attempt to brake, the ABS on the vehicle did not engage. the contact's vehicle collided with the vehicle in front of it. there was a drill-like sound when the brakes are depressed. the vehicle does not normally engage on wet or icy surfaces. the vehicle was taken to a private mechanic. there IS a nhtsa recall, 99i006000, regarding the service brakes. the vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it IS not included in the recall due to the vin.

I was told I need to replace the brake pressure modulator valve to correct this problem. this will cost approximately $1100.00. I feel this should not happen at this low mileage.*ak

Axle seal of rear brakes malfunctioned, causing rear brakes to fail. all of braking was being done by front brakes. also, emergency brake was not operational. GMC denied any defect.*ak

Once the anti-lock brakes have been activated in an emergency stop it take a few stops before they go back to normal but it still takes a good distance to bring the van to a stop. nlm

Both times failed with winds and heavy rain. lifted wiper off glass and heated motor until overload protection came on. first time had to cool down for 12 hrs. And began working again. second time stopped working all together. installed wind reflectors and wiper boots to hold wiper on window but still lifted. very dangerous situation with no wipers in rain storms.
