  The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving, approaching a traffic light, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), rear collision warning, service assist, front collision warning, check engine light, and multiple brake warning lights illuminated. The emergency brake failed to function. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer, where the master cylinder failure was diagnosed, and the part was replaced. However, while driving after the repair, a complete brake failure occurred alongside the same warning lights. The contact lost control of the vehicle and traversed two intersections. The contact attempted multiple times to stop the vehicle, and the contact's daughter exited the moving vehicle before the contact stopped the engine by depressing the ignition button. The police were contacted, and a CAD report was generated. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, where a second master cylinder failure was diagnosed and repaired under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 19,357.

Press hard to break. Speed limited." I was already driving in traffic while I received this warning.

The primary warning stated: "BRAKE ASSIST FAILURE. PRESS HARD TO BRAKE. SPEED LIMITED." Additional warnings included: - Service ESC (Electronic Stability Control) - ABS warning light illuminated - Traction/stability control warning - Forward Collision System Unavailable - Red BRAKE warning illuminated - Check Engine light illuminated These warnings appeared during the same startup event while the vehicle was stationary. SAFETY CONCERNS: I am extremely concerned that a vehicle with fewer than 36,000 miles is reporting a potential failure of its power-assisted braking system, along with simultaneous malfunctions involving ABS, stability control, and forward collision protection. The dashboard specifically instructed me to press harder to brake and indicated that vehicle speed was limited. This raises serious concerns about braking performance and the ability to safely stop the vehicle, particularly during an emergency. I am aware of NHTSA investigation EA26006 concerning potential electronic braking-system failures in certain General Motors vehicles, including the Chevrolet Traverse. The symptoms reported in that investigation appear similar to the warnings displayed by my vehicle. The underlying cause has not yet been confirmed. Brakes make horrible squeaking noises- Dealer advised this is a known issue with the type of brakes installed on these cars and nothing can be done. Taking car in for service for all these issues.

The ABS, traction control, check engine, collision avoidance, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. An audible alert chimed erroneously without a pedestrian nearby. Due to the failure, the contact’s chest struck the steering wheel. A passenger seated in the front passenger’s side seat experienced mental distress. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and DTC: P053D, C055F, P25A2, and 25NA240 were retrieved. The vehicle was repaired under warranty; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer and scanned with an OBD2 scanner, and the failures were confirmed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,188.

  Two issues have been occurring with my car amongst many others, but these are the most recent my vehicle has all seatbelt sensors go off despite no one else being in the vehicle, but me the driver my sensor does not go off. It will not stop beeping or screaming at me until I have to pull over turn off my car turn it back on and essentially reset the system. The other thing my car intermittently when I shifted into park at a full stop for example like in my driveway my foot is fully pressed on the brake, and my car will completely shut off and jerk the car forward and backwards when I shift into park, the engine shuts off but the car was never turned off just shifted in to park. and then resets my entire car all the electrical panels, the dashboard everything goes off-line, then comes back online and I get a message that says to reset driver window, lower window all the way down and raise it back up to which I later found that this meant the entire car program was just reset and started over… This is really frustrating and I fear of something like this happening while I’m actively driving It is not letting me upload the video

Its impossible to do this even if your keys are in your pocket as you have to hit 3 different buttons to do this.   Sudden slamming on the brake automatically when in reverse and there is nothing around the car to cause this. Has happened many times The car will alert that something is too close when turning right by there is nothing there. It is intermittent. When you start the car it the motor reves up very high and will stay there until you push the gas and then it quiets down. This is usually the first start of the day. High and rough idle Super hard intermittent transmission shift or down shifting while normal driving. It jerks really hard and sometime it’s so hard it throws you forward like the brake is being applied. Symbol intermittently shows up on dash. Then goes away after the car has been turned off and restarted. Brakes squeal bad. Acceleration reduction message then check engine light came on 8/30. Roaring loud noise before the light came on. Put 1 gallon coolant in it and light went off. Now runs and idles high.

  Vehicle had large puddle of antifreeze under drivers front of vehicle. Antifreeze reservoir was completely empty upon opening the hood. There is an active drip of antifreeze under the car as displayed by placing a clean piece of cardboard under the vehicle. There were no indicator lights displaying a problem on the dashboard. Upon using an endoscopic camera, there is an active leak at the hose on the radiator. If I had not noticed the active leak, I would have driven the vehicle and overheated the engine with the possibility of seizing the engine. Vehicle is in service currently at Superior Chevrolet. There is a known issue under Special Bulletin N262546590 for the seal at the quick connect inlet on the radiator.

  This started happening about two weeks ago. My check engine light came on and my OBD scanner said a NOX sensor code showed. I told the dealership and I guess they cleared the code and it hasn’t reappeared but the reduced acceleration has maintained. It was [XXX] I had just go of work and needed gas. While traveling to the gas station I got notification that my acceleration was being reduced and it was very noticeable. After arriving and pumping gas, I started the car and got 3 additional messages. The car aside my brake assist and ESC needed service, my ABS system was off, and my forward collision system was off. While driving, I noticed that the brakes were still working but acceleration was still being reduced. This is an everyday use car and I have a 6 children who I don’t feel are safe anymore in the car. Not being able to utilize the brakes and the reduced acceleration is very concerning especially when in traffic. I have a little over 27500 miles on the car. It just came from the dealership to get the telematics module replaced last week because it went out about a month ago. I’ve only had this car a year and it seems like the issues are becoming more common everyday. I will be taking care back to dealership tomorrow. If the wife needs ABS or front radar, she will not have it resulting in a more serious accident.

  While driving on vacation approximately five hours away from home with my family, I suddenly heard a loud popping sound followed immediately by increased outside wind noise coming from the panoramic moonroof. Based on the sound, I suspected the moonroof glass had shattered. Because my family was in the vehicle, I intentionally did not open the interior sunshade, as I was concerned that broken glass could fall into the cabin and seriously injure my passengers. After safely pulling over, I inspected the roof from the outside and confirmed that the panoramic moonroof glass had completely shattered. During the drive back, the shattered glass panel completely detached from the vehicle and flew off. Fortunately, it landed in the grass and did not strike another vehicle or person, which could have resulted in a serious accident or injuries. Because this occurred over the weekend, I had no immediate access to repairs. To safely transport my family the five-hour drive back home, I had to temporarily cover the opening with a trash bag and tape to protect the vehicle’s interior and reduce exposure to the elements. After returning home, I contacted the dealership, provided photographs of the damage, and explained the circumstances. I was informed that the failure would not be covered under the vehicle’s warranty and that I would be responsible for the repair costs. I am extremely concerned that the moonroof shattered without any apparent impact from road debris or object. Had the interior sunshade been open at the time, pieces of broken glass could have fallen into the passenger compartment, potentially causing serious injuries to my family, including eye injuries or cuts. Additionally, when the glass panel detached from the vehicle, it could have struck another motorist or pedestrian, creating a significant safety hazard. I believe this incident represents a serious safety concern and request that this matter be thoroughly investigated and reconsidered for warranty coverage.

  Approx 5/19/26 Forward Collision Detection check light randomly came on when driving home and showed notifications showing "Service ESC" "Service Traction Control" then started showing notifications for the collision sensors unavailable and continuously flickering them across the dash. The Fwd collision symbol would come on and off randomly. Finally was able to take it to the dealership on 6/8/26. Dealership found 6 codes and updated the image processing module. The Fwd Collision symbol is back on and off, notifications are flickering across the dash more frequently and now the check engine light is constantly on as of 6/14/26. Car is currently back at the dealership. Pictures and videos were taken of the issue happening to provide extra proof and given to the techs. These sensors failing at any time could cause the vehicle to randomly brake, not brake, and possibly not register a potential accident and avoid it. This vehicle is our daily driver and is the vehicle my son's car seat is in so it's not just my safety, it's the safety of my wife and baby. It's the safety of anyone else who has this type of vehicle with these issues. Understandably it's always the drivers responsibility to pay attention to the road and surroundings but there's nothing the driver can do if the vehicle randomly shuts off or stops or slams on the brakes or another type of malfunction while out on the road. This vehicle has been in and out of the dealership 5 times now for three different things, every time it's picked up, the problem is still there or comes back within days. It's a pain moving all the baby gear back and forth, on top of the rentals we have been given have been so small, you can't even fit a stroller and groceries per-say in the trunk.

  Our car one day showed several illuminated dash lights regarding brake system, along with several pop up warnings. We took it to a Chevrolet dealer for service. They’ve had it for 54 days. They’ve confirmed widespread brake system and electrical system failure, but even after escalating to corporate tech assistance, there is no progress nor resolution available. We were told they have at least a dozen others with this same issue. It is wildly inappropriate that there has not been a recall issued as this is a serious safety defect. We demand a buyback from GM for putting this death trap on the market knowing they had these issues with 2024 models but continuing to roll 2025 and 2026 models with the same issues.

  I purchased a brand-new 2025 Chevrolet Traverse and have been dealing with a loud brake squeal that makes the vehicle sound like it has worn-out brakes. I’ve taken it to two different Chevrolet dealerships, and instead of fixing the issue, I’ve repeatedly been told that this is a common problem with the 2025 Traverse and that many owners are experiencing the same thing. I’ve been given multiple explanations, including weather conditions and the vehicle needing to warm up, but no actual solution. I was even told there is currently no fix available through GM and that replacing the brake pads will not resolve the problem. What is most frustrating is that everyone seems to acknowledge the issue while also telling customers to simply live with it. This is a brand-new vehicle, and customers should not be expected to accept a known brake defect as normal. Very disappointed with both the dealership experience and GM’s response to what appears to be a widespread issue.

  NHTSA Defect Report (Initial Portal Filing) Manufacturer Target: General Motors (GM) Filer: [XXX] Classification: Mechanical Defect & Administrative Evasion Narrative for Submission I am filing this formal defect report regarding a catastrophic, systemic safety failure present in the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse architecture (VIN: [XXX]), manufactured by General Motors. The vehicle was originally purchased at AutoNation Timonium. THE SAFETY DEFECT AND TELEMETRY PROOF On March 18, 2026, the vehicle suffered a total failure of the transmission and drivetrain systems. It was immediately surrendered to Preston Chevrolet, where it remained completely out of service for 34 consecutive days. GM's own OnStar Diagnostic Telemetry automatically dispatched critical fault alerts while the vehicle was stranded, explicitly logging the following irrefutable failure codes: DTC U1962 (PCM - Engine and Transmission System): Warning stated: "System transferring power to the drive wheels not performing as expected." This indicates a catastrophic decoupling or failure to transfer motive power. If this failure occurs at highway speeds, it results in a total loss of propulsion, creating an extreme rear-end collision hazard. DTC U0452 (VIU - OnStar System): A simultaneous failure in the Wireless Communication and Safety system, meaning that when the drivetrain catastrophically fails, the vehicle's automated emergency SOS and crash-reporting telemetry is actively blocked or compromised. ELEVATION TO ADMINISTRATIVE EVASION General Motors and its authorized dealer network were provided with formal written notice of this defect. The 30-day statutory right to cure window fully expired without any mechanical resolution. Rather than deploying engineering solutions to rectify the severe safety defects they released into the public domain, GM has instead deployed aggressive legal maneuvers designed to evade accountability.   I go to turn on the car on a Friday night and it won’t turn on. I got multiple failures and it said fatal errors take to dealer immediately. I brought the car to the dealer and they said the control panel needs to be replaced and they’re estimating at least a month. I’m one of four cars on a lot that need work for the same exact issue.

GM has stated that in the event of a spindle fracture, anti-lock brakes (ABS), stability control, and traction control remain functional until the vehicle comes to a complete stop. At this point, ABS, brake assist, stability control, and traction control functions are lost. The loss of these functions causes the vehicle to set one of three Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) based on failed performance criteria for the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). These DTCs, in turn, activate several driver alerts: an audible chime, a visual “Service Brake System” message in the display, and multiple illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lights (MILs) for the ABS, Traction Control, and Brakes informing the driver of loss of functionality. The vehicle speed will also be limited to 70 KPH (43 MPH). Since opening PE24011, ODI has continued to receive reports of loss of brake assist. Some of these reports describe symptoms inconsistent with GM’s description of a spindle failure. These reports allege an immediate loss of brake assist functionality as opposed to the loss occurring after the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The sudden loss of brake assist during a braking event could result in extended braking distance, which increases the risk of a crash or injury. ODI believes further analysis is necessary to assess the potential for failures in GM’s eBoost system to resulting in safety-related outcomes. At this time, ODI is aware of the following vehicles that are equipped with this eBoost system: 2023-2026 MY Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon; 2024-2026 MY Buick Enclave, Envision; Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV, Traverse; Cruise Origin; and GMC Acadia; 2025-2026 MY Cadillac Celestiq and Optiq. ODI is also aware of 2024-2026 MY Acura ZDX and 2024-2026 MY Honda Prologue vehicles that were built with this system. The Acura and Honda vehicles were manufactured by GM in a joint venture with Honda, and will be included in the Engineering Analysis as peer vehicles. ODI is opening this Engineering Analysis to further assess the safety-related consequences of a failed eBoost system. In addition, ODI is expanding the scope of the investigation to encompass all GM vehicles that share this eBoost system.
