  Vehicle lost power with no prior warning at highway speeds. Vehicle then displayed "Stop Safely Vehicle will shut off soon" message. In order to attempt a reset, driver must turn off, leave vehicle with FOB and secure vehicle. Then return to vehcile and start up in an attempt to reboot. Check engine light remained, but functioned nromally for a day. Vehicle did the same on another freeway at 70 mph, and continued with the same events above several times, some producing immediate repeat message, or other times getting a half mile down the road. Depending on availability of a shoulder or center divide, this is extremly dangerous to fail unexpectedly on the highway. In California there are freeways with over 6 lanes, try getting across 6 lanes of traffic with no power, in limp mode. Vehicle is now at dealer awaiting diagnosis and repair. I continued with the vehicle when the tow truck service via Chrysler corporate stated 60 -90 min response. My saftey was more of a concern if I had to wait that long.

  This is the second time we received an alert that our 2023 Pacifica Hybrid minivan while driving sends an alert message to STOP SAFELY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF SOON. A green Turtle and Red Hazard Triangle image accompanied the message. First time it occurred was Friday 3/7/2025 and again after servicing on 3/14/2025. Both times the vehicle was traveling at a lawful speed of 65 to 70. The first time it lost power and in order to get to side of road safely the gas pedal had to be pushed to floor to get a reaction and any power. The second time the power seemed to stay until we got to side of road. After turning vehicle off and then on- them message was off but the check engine light remained steadily on. Then upon restarting a second time after driving to dealer it turned off and stayed off. Dealer stated they could not get vehicle to demonstrate any issues and found a stored code that showed only P06DE and No Active Faults. Car appeared to drive fine until the second incident on 3/14 when it occurred again. We have video of codes

  Vehicle had been operating less than 5 minutes. When I was on an on-ramp for a left entrance to a highway, several warning lights illuminated in addition to messaging on my dash. The car entered "turtle mode" which extremely limited the speed of the vehicle. I immediately pressed the button for my hazard lights to come on, but they did not operate correctly. They flashed so rarely that they did not warn vehicles behind me that I was having an incident. During this incident, the vehicle speedometer was inoperable, displaying "-- --" instead of a speed. I was lucky to be able to pull to the shoulder, but with the narrow shoulder and my child in the car I felt safer limping off the highway using primarily the shoulder. I was terrified and had some cars nearly hit me/honk as I was going approximately 10 miles per hour on a 55mph roadway. I have seen similar reports on online forums for chrysler pacifica minivans, so I am not the only one to encounter the issue. The vehicle has also at times refused to go into gear while in Park, which is a related problem but I don't deem it a safety issue. The problem is intermittent and the service center is able to see 'codes' when they examine the vehicle but as the issue is intermittent they have returned the car to me twice with no repairs performed since it didn't occur while they had it. The warning lights and turtle mode occurred simultaneously or within a few seconds. I have a video during the incident. I can see the fuel gauge needle rising and falling wildly, turtle mode, a picture of a wrench, check engine, parking brake, brake, collision avoidance, ABS, and others. Each time the vehicle has gone in for service they have seen and cleared codes but they did not come back immediately, so no repairs were attempted. It is in the shop again currently and I have escalated to the manufacturer to hopefully get greater assistance.

  We were driving on the freeway, 65 MPH, 0% battery life. Warning came on the dashboard stating something like “ Pull over safely, engine will stop”. Engine had already stopped and we luckily avoided impending doom and pulled off to the side of the highway. Turned car off, waited a couple min, and started the car again. Car turned on with check engine light. Able to slowly get to the next exit. Next morning, took to dealer. After two days, they said it needed a NEW transmission?! Still waiting after 2 weeks. 2023 Chrysler Pacifica. 17,000 miles.

  Hello. Writing to you about a serious safety concern on my 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. Overnight, I had it parked in my driveway, and this morning, I found it had rolled down the driveway. In addition, because it was plugged in charging overnight, the movement of my van rolling, caused it to pull on the cord and ultimately snapping my charging port. Fortunately,no one was walking at that time as you could understand the concern this would be if this had been the case and my van would’ve harmed someone. I checked my cameras, and it shows the van beginning to slowly roll on its own around 9:40pm until it reaches the end of my driveway. I believe the only reason it did not go any further is because our sidewalk is a bit raised where it meets the end of the driveway, which stopped it from sliding even further than it did. I would like to see if this is a known issue and if not make it aware as this is a serious concern to the public. Also what steps can I take to Chrysler to fix this issue, I don’t feel comfortable now with the car sitting idle in the driveway with kids playing. Also corrected steps to repair the damage to my car. I contacted the dealer and have an appointment scheduled for Friday 12/27/2024.   While driving on the interstate, we heard a warning chime and a warning about the engine shutting off was displayed, along with the check engine light and a turtle icon, and the vehicle lost engine power. It was just coasting, which made it difficult to get to the shoulder in multiple lanes of heavy traffic. We called emergency roadside assistance who told us it was in limp mode and called for a tow truck. According to the dealership, a sensor in the transmission has malfunctioned and the entire transmission will need to be replaced. This appears to be the same issue for which these vehicles were recalled, so whatever repair Chrysler has done is clearly not effective. Our vehicle was purchased new, after the recall service had been done.

The contact stated it felt as if the hydraulic fluid was low despite there being no leak. The backover prevention camera failed to display the image from the rear of the vehicle due to there being an unexplained fracture. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired for the brakes and gear shifter. The back-over prevention camera had been replaced but the failure persisted. The vehicle was returned to the dealer however had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,600.

  Fourth time! Car suddenly shut down on highway with message to stop safely soon. I retrieved codes which were PAO78. I do this every time since these codes will clear when power is removed from the vehicle. The dealer says there is nothing they can do since codes are no longer there when I bring it in.   Part number 68324912AC on both 2nd row seats has failed. The plastic housing encasing the spring broke on top for one seat, and on bottom for the other seat. Now the seat back does not lock in position. When the seat back tilts far enough forward, the seat slides freely forwards and backwards. I have called a few dealerships and no one has the part in stock. It is on back order due to the number of vehicles that have had this problem. Luckily the the parts broke before we were driving and we noticed the issue before someone sat in those seats. Otherwise, they could have been injured just from normal braking, and would not have been safe in an accident.

  I bought a new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid in March 2024. In April 2024, mileage 2,301, while driving on neighborhood roads, this warning message appeared: "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" and the Engine Check/Malfunction Indicator Warning light illuminated. I had about 15-30 seconds to pull over and then the vehicle lost all power. All warnings were gone the next morning so I hoped it had been a glitch. 3 days later it happened again (mileage 2,559). I didn't think it was a glitch anymore so I had the vehicle towed to an authorized Chrysler dealer. STAR (Chrysler) advised them to check PIM connectors and return the vehicle to me. I had been unable to drive the vehicle for 15 days. Less than a month later, mileage 3,933, it happened again. I had it towed again to the same dealer. This time STAR advised and approved replacing the transmission. This incident added 28 days of being unable to drive the vehicle, for a total of 43 days. 23 days later, while driving on an out-of-state highway, mileage 5,012, it happened again. This was extremely dangerous since we were driving at highway speed and did not have much time to pull over before the vehicle shut off. I had it towed to an authorized dealer near where I was staying out of state. That dealer performed repairs even though I didn't authorize any. I have no reason to believe that Chrysler can fix the problem.

  Vehicle was purchased new on [XXX]. 360 surround cameras and Connect box malfunctioned and vehicle was brought in for service on July 10, 2024. I was told by the service advisor that the camera was a poor connection and simply plugged back in but they were unable to reproduce the UConnect issue and that it was currently working. On [XXX] I started the vehicle in my driveway and it immediately entered "limp mode" with a large red turtle appearing on the dash and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle would not drive greater than 5mph and posed a safety risk on the road so was towed to the dealer. The hybrid battery coolant hose was replaced and I picked up the vehicle on [XXX]. The diagnostic code relayed to me was P0C44-00. On [XXX], I started the vehicle in a family member's driveway and it again entered limp mode with the red turtle and check engine light displayed. The vehicle was again not able to be driven and was towed to the dealer. Chrysler engineers are now involved in the repair.   I bought a new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle from the dealership with 20 miles on it. The next day, I was driving the car and exiting the highway when it said “rear safety alert, vehicle will shut off.” The car turned off and my kids and I were stranded on the highway exit blocking traffic. I called the dealership and they picked it up to try to see what was wrong. I was told it needed a new battery from sitting in the dealership for months . We considered trading in the car since I know longer felt safe, but I trusted them to fix it and make it safe. Once I got the car back, within 24 hours it did the exact same thing and shut down while entering the highway this time. The car is currently at the dealership again. I do not feel safe that it will not randomly keep turning off.

  We are currently on a family vacation going from CA to Nebraska and our 2023 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid completely shut down on us while driving through Las Vegas. A warning came up on the dash stating “slow down, engine will be shutting down”. We were on a main freeway and almost got hit because of this. We had our two kids in the car and are so upset this happened especially because we just bought the vehicle in May 2024 and this is the second time this has happened to us. We had to pay for a rental vehicle out of pocket to continue our trip and get our van towed to a nearby dealership in Las Vegas. It is currently sitting at the dealership and we have no idea how long it’s going to take to get fixed or how we are going to get it back to CA.

  Dash displayed "no bus" at the range level along with every error message possible. All of a sudden it goes haywire. Can't tell what speed you're going, you can put gas to floor and no acceleration, power steering comes and goes, wipers turn on and off, let go of the brake and it accelerates on its own, you name it. Van will not shift in and out of gear and will not turn off even when holding down start button. We've taken it in three times second and third time was towed in, and now it's happening again. They can't find anything wrong with it (other than 60+ error codes). They reset the codes and then drive it and say it didn't happen to them so they have no answers. Third time taking it in they were able to reproduce the problem but don't have a definitive fix. Turning it on and off doesn't help, it happens each time at random points after turning back on (either immediately or a mile or two later). No idea the rhyme or reason as to when it happens that we can tell. I'm very glad it hasn't happened on the freeway! Because it's really unsafe. Last drive before the tow the hazards didn't even work.

  On July 22, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened investigation PE22-008 regarding complaints alleging a loss of motive power condition potentially due to a transmission malfunction in Model Years 2019-2021 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV).  On January 17, 2023, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) issued safety recall (NHTSA Recall 23V-010) involving 2017-2023 Model Years (MY) Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) produced between August 12, 2016, through January 9, 2023. The recall states that the loss of motive power condition in these vehicles is caused by an internal transmission wiring connector that may short circuit, resulting in an unexpected engine shutdown.  An unexpected engine shutdown can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.  In discussions with FCA on Recall 23V-010, ODI confirmed the recall was related to investigation PE22-008.  The remedy for 23V-010 is to update the Power Inverter module (PIM) and/or Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) software to provide drivers a message stating “Stop Safely - Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon” followed by a chime and MIL, PRNDL blinking (on cluster and shifter knob), low SOC (State of Charge) warning and reduced power mode.  The recall remedy does not replace the defective hardware that was described in Recall 23V-010, and the wiring connector short still exists on these vehicles. To date, ODI has received 132 reports for the population of vehicles subject to recall 23V-010.  These reports allege a loss of motive power condition that reduces the vehicles speed, followed by dashboard warning lamps displaying messages associated with recall 23V-010.  The presence of these warning lamps and messages indicates the vehicle likely had the recall remedy applied. Follow up discussions with FCA confirm their remedy does not prevent a loss of motive power, but instead limits torque to the engine and after an unspecified number of miles or period of time, the engine will shut down.  When this occurs, FCA relies on the owner to transport the vehicle to a dealership after they experience a loss of motive power condition, at which time the defective hardware is replaced.  Furthermore, the dashboard messages introduced in the recall remedy may cause the driver to pull over in an unsafe location. Pulling over in an unsafe location may expose the occupants to undue harm. In repair procedure the dealerships are replacing the CAN star block connector during their root cause process with returned parts showing no trouble found. Here is a list of steps the dealers can follow to determine if they have a defective CAN star block connector using a multimeter: Step 1: Visually review CAN star block for damage and ensure back cover has all locking tabs engaged. If a bent pin, cracked or damaged housing or locking tab is not engaged is observed then replacement is required. Step 2: Identify Connector #1 as the 3 Pin Connector cavity Step 3: Measure resistance between Pin#1 and Pin#2 in Connector #1. Acceptable values are 120.4 Ohms to 139.8 Ohms. If resistance is outside of this range then replacement is required. Step 4: Measure the continuity between Pin#1 in Connector #1 to Pin#1 in each of the other 2 Pin connector cavities. If continuity is not found then a replacement is required. Step 5: Measure the continuity between Pin#2 in Connector #1 to Pin#2 in each of the other 2 Pin connector cavities.
