10244945The following information is provided to clearly explain Isuzus policy for control module (engine, transmission, antilock brake, instrument panel, body control, power interface, etc.) reprogramming. Control module calibrations are regularly updated for many reasons. These reasons may include, but are not limited to: model year change, software corrections, certification compliance, product improvement and specific application requirements. However, the mere existence of a newer control module calibration does not necessarily mean that warranty coverage exists or that the calibration must be installed. It is not our policy to update control modules, under warranty or after warranty, based solely on the availability of a newer calibration file. Below are our guidelines for reprogramming control modules.
10244943SPECIAL POLICY ADJUSTMENT: In some 2018-2021MY Isuzu F-series vehicles equipped with 5.2L (4HK1) diesel engines, the diesel particulate filter (DPF) fuel injector may fail, setting Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0420 in the Engine Control Module (ECM). If this occurs, the Check Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will illuminate. This Special Policy covers the condition described above for a period of ten (10) years from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership, or 150,000 miles (241,000km), whichever occurs first. Diagnosis and repair of conditions other than the condition described above are not covered under this Special Policy.

10233458What is IDA? IDA is a diagnostic program that provides: 1) DTC Analysis: IDA analyzed DTCs (currently 35) and then provides quick and easy-to-understand repair solutions 2) DPF Early Regeneration Warning: IDA also reviews the three latest DPF regeneration odometer readings in the Health Report of the applicable VIN on IDA. IDA then analyzes the distances between the three regenerations. If the average of these distances is less than 55 km for a 4HK1 (5.2L) engine, or less than 70 km for a 4JJ1 (3.0L) engine, an alert will be shown on the IDA page in the form of a red regeneration icon. This is an early warning indication that a problem may be forming in the DPF regeneration cycle. However, if the enabling criteria shown above are not met, a regeneration icon will not appear on the IDA for that particular VIN. Detailed instructions on how to use IDA are included in this bulletin.
10225521We have received reports of the front turn signal lenses cracking on Isuzu vehicles. These lenses are cracking from the effects of being washed with alkaline detergents. Alkaline detergents are typically used in industrial settings and are reactive with the paint, metals, and other materials used to make up the exterior components of Isuzu vehicles. Isuzu recommends that only neutral detergents be used when washing Isuzu vehicles. However, if alkaline detergents are used to wash an Isuzu vehicle, it is crucial that all traces of the detergent are rinsed away with water or wiped off as necessary. Allowing alkaline detergent to dry on the turn signal lenses will cause them to crack. Each Isuzu vehicle is originally equipped with an Owner's Manual that includes guidelines for the proper exterior maintenance of the vehicle. The following guidelines are typical of those found in an Isuzu Owner's Manual concerning the use of detergents on a vehicle's exterior.

10208791Isuzu Motors Limited has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in 2019, 2019, 2020 and 2021 model year F-Series vehicles. The jam nut for the steering stopper bolt on the left side may loosen and allow the bolt to back away from the steering knuckle. This could result in an increase in the turning radius of the vehicle in left urns, which could make it difficult to make sharp turns. If the vehicle's turning radius is increased, there is an increased risk of a crash. A prior recall (19V-467) was conducted to address this issue, but we have identified this condition on vehicles that were remedied in that campaign as well as those that were produced after a change in production intended to prevent the condition.
10206061Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc. is proud to introduce the redesigned Isuzu Vehicle Health Report (VHR) program. Beginning October 2021, Isuzu dealers are able to access, through www.isuzutruckservice.com, all of the Isuzu Vehicle Health Report Data (MMU Data) associated with 2011MY and newer vehicles serviced by their dealership in a new, user friendly VHR. Look for the VHR tab after you log in. n contrast to the previous design, the new VHR exists in a central database easily accessed by dealership personnel at any time from any PC with internet access. Users will be able to quickly select vehicles by entering a VIN (partial or all 17 digits) or select from a list of the VINs most recently downloaded by their dealership to create a VHR.

10190781The check trans light may illuminate in the affected vehicles without any apparent transmission concerns. The transition control module (tcm) IS programmed by allison to predict the need for transmission maintenance relating to the oil life monitor, filter life monitor, and transmission health monitor. In order to protect the transmission assembly, the check trans light will illuminate when service intervals exceed allison's recommendations. Note: the most common diagnostic trouble code associated with the illumination of the check trans light IS dtc p088b-transmission filter deterioration. If the check trans light IS going on without any apparent transmission concerns, please refer the customer to their closest allison authorized repair location, please go to (or recommend the customer go to) www.allisontransmission.com/sales-service-locator this condition IS maintenance-related as recommended in the allison transmissions operator's manual and IS not covered under isuzu's new vehicle warranty.
10186931Some customers may complain about wind noise and/or water intrusion into the cab from the driver and/or passenger doors of the affected n-series and ftr trucks. To correct this condition isuzu commercial truck of america, inc. (Itca) IS offering a new door weather strip to improve sealing of the driver and passenter doors.
10178754Isuzu diesel engines available in the above affected vehicles meet the california air resource board's (carb) optional idling emissions standard of 30 grams per hour of oxides of nitrogen (nox) with no increase in the emission of other regulated pollutants. As a result these vehicles have been approved as "certified clean idle" and are "exempt" from the engine shutdown system (ess) requiremnet pursuant ot section 1956.8 of title 13, california code of regulations. As required by the ess regulation, for "certificed clean idle" vehicles, isuzu has introduced a tamper resistance "certified clean idle" label located on the driver's side door panel. It IS important that this label remain, permanently, on the vehicle to identify it as "certified clean idle." carb requires this label as evidence that, at hte time of manufacture, the engine installed met the applicable emission standards. Should the label be found missing or damged during an inspection, a citation and penalties may be issued. If the vehicle IS operated in california with a damaged or missing clean idle label, isuzu recommends vehicle operators follow the 5 minute ess requirement by manually turning off the engine. Following this ess requiremnet will keep the vehicle operation compliant until a replacement label can be installed. "Clean air idle" labels are printed with a serial number and registered to an individual vin. As a result, a replacemnet label will also include a new serial number which must be registered to the vehicle's vin by the manufacturer. The below information IS provided to assit in acquiring, replacing and registering a replacement label.
10178751Some customers may experience a whistling or whining noise coming from the engine in the area of the exhaust manifold. Additionally, a check engine light with dtc's p0402 exhaust gas recirculation (egr) flow excessive and/or p2457 egr cooling system performance may be set. If you determine that an exhaust leak exists at the egr duct flange where it attaches to the exhaust manifold (see figure 1) perform the following service procedure.
10176679Some customers may complain about wind noise and/or water intrusion into the cab from the driver and/or passenger doors of the affected n-series and ftr trucks. 10172506Ida IS a pilot diagnostic program that provides two functions: 1) dtc analysis 2) dpf early regeneration warning it IS vital for isuzu to be able to evaluate the performance of this pilot tool. Therefore, ida also includes a feadback process. The feedback provided during the pilot program will demonstrate ida's level of effectiveness and also help improve the ida program. Completing the feedback portion of the ida process after repairing a vehicle IS an integral part of utilizing ida and must be done for each ida suggested repair. The pilot program's initial one year period has been exteded. Please continue utilizing ida as much as possible until further notice. Isuzu commercial truck of america (icta) IS requesting isuzu dealers to use ida for all dtc-related repairs on vehicles that are still under warranty. When making a repair suggested by ida, please print a copy of the ida-suggested repair and attach it to the repair order. If the ida recommendation does not repair the vehicle, icta will reimburse the dealer for performing the suggested repair. Complete the feedback process within ida before submitting a claim. Submit all documentation with the claim. Failure to provide details will delay claim payments. Note: do not use ida on vehicles that are "out of warranty"
10171726In an effort for continuous improvement, isuzu has a need to obtain mimamori ecu (health report) information. It IS critical to obtain mimamori ecu information during the repair process. This information will be used by isuzu engineering to help determine "root cause" for customer's concerns and develop/validate a field fix. Isuzu recognizes that the success of gathering this mimamori ecu information IS dependent upon the dealer technician. Because of this need, isuzu will compensate the dealer/technician for their time and effor to provide critical information. When a vehicle IS presented to a dealer for repair and a dtc IS stored in one or more of the control modules listed below, isuzu engineering requests the mimamori ecu information be downloaded and synchronized. Important: perform the mimamori ecu download before clearing the dtc and before diagnosing the vehicle. Be sure the information IS synchronized before claim submission. Isuzu engineering will be reviewing all claims for this data. -Engine control module (ecm) -transmission control module (tcm) -diesel exhaust fluid (def) control module
