Airbag light came on while we took a trip to big bear with friends, technician discovered the connectors under the front passenger seat were melted, got the connectors changed, airbag module replaced, airbag light IS still on. I own a rental company and I'm not able to rent the vehicle due to the passenger airbag recall for the past year, and gm won't do anything about it. This recall needs to be performed.
Faulty bearings on camshaft failing causing inadequate oil pressure resulting in "limp mode", subsequently leading to engine failure and illumination of stabilitrak, ABS and parking assist icons. "Limp mode" cuts engine off and driver loses ability to control the vehicle, 1 fatality and 3 injuries have resulted because of this.
Takata airbags, waiting for years now to get replace. Will not help me solve this issue. Called 4 times about replacement parts and tell me there IS nothing wrong with them.
Waiting to get airbags to get part to fix since 2007 and no help to solve issue since may 2016, when it was recalled and they will not give me a discount to get a different SUV or fix the air bag.
TL* takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade esv. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor remained illuminated and "service air bag" was displayed. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer (crest cadillac, 12800 west capital dr, brooksville, wi) were notified of the failure. The contact stated that he received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags) in june of 2016. The contact was informed that the parts to repair the failure were not available. The failure mileage was 84,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
I have the "service traction control" , "stabilitrak", "low oil pressure" lights keep coming on and engine IS consuming quite a large amount of oil and IS now knocking. After eliminating other areas, the mechanic has came to a conclusion that the knocking IS from the result of a faulty push rod. I believe that I am the 3RD owner of the vehicle and the vehicle currently has 160,000+ miles. I am a [xxx] driver with 4 juvenile children and use the cadillac primarily for family trips as I have a company vehicle to commute to and from work. Some of the reviews that I have read about the engine say that the engine IS designed for high performance and longevity. And even though the miles that are currently getting high, I don't think that this engine has achieved it. The warning lights that I have listed have only came on when the vehicle was in motion. parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(B)(6). *An
TL* takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade esv. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer (lavery cadillac, 1096 w state st, alliance, oh 44601, (330)-823-1102) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact to call nhtsa to file a complaint. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available. **tr the original gm-cadillac notice we received if dated july 2016. Recall #49151. If this problem IS a danger, I would have hoped the problem would have been resolved by now. This IS 2 years and 3 months later. We do drive the vehicle and would prefer not to be included in a crash!! Updated 10/29/18*jb
Takara recall: in 2015 my cadillac escalade was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which the airbag deployed and exploded with a bunch of smoke and awful smell in the air and some debris. The vehicle was in motion in hit a midsize honda accord head on. I was traveling straight on a city street. I was faulted since I was reaching for my gps navigation device that had fallen on the floor. The cause for the malfunction to me IS unknown. I was definitely injured in the accident but I only had liability insurance at the time and it only covered the other party since I was faulted. recall date:may 27, 2016 manufacturer recall number:2049151
Takata recall. Service stabilatrak check engine code P011 had everything done and now dealer says must replace engine. I have replaced camshaft crankshaft and also the s noses. Still P011 code!!this IS a major issue with this model car oil presses issues. There needs to be a recall on this vehicle!!i received a recall notice for the air bag in september 2016 I have been in contact with the dealer and have no parts to the recall yet almost 2 years
Takata recall. it's been 2 years since the recall notification and no solution has been obtained. I've exhausted all efforts to resolve this dangerous recall. in 2016 & 2017 I attempted to trade in my vehicle at the cadillac dealers. according to the cadillac sales person, they are not taking any trade in with that recall and if they did it would be at a considerable value reduction. basically giving the vehicle away. I'm forced to keep this dangerous car and it's bad workmanship.
Airbags have been recalled and we have been unable to get it fixed at the dealership as they continue to tell us that there IS no fix. we can not sell the vehicle as their IS an active recall on it currently and we can not drive it as it doesn't feel safe.
The dealer states they have no information or parts for this recall. earnhardt cadillac, 7901 e frank lloyd wright blvd, scottsdale, az 85260. I received a notice in the mail regarding the chapter 11 case no. 17-11375 for tk holdings inc. on this notice, it advised to file a complaint with you if the dealer was unable to repair. please advise.
"Takata recall
Abnormally high oil consumption: even after completing the valve cover replacement as recommended in the gm technical service bulletin 10-06-01-008m, the high oil consumption continues to occur. From full oil level completed at the dealershjp service center to the point that the computer screen indicates "low oil level", the car had only been driven 1,000 miles (verified by gm service center). as an side, the vehicle IS driven about 5,000 miles per year and IS serviced and cared for religiously. this issue was initially noticed in 2012 as was thought to be a normal characteristic of the make/model. only after further research into similar instances with the same make/model as reported by other owners, did this become a larger issue. it was then reported to gm resulting in a case number being created. the next maintenance step as recommended by gm service center IS to replace pistons and rings.
Stalling some times in stop sign or red light no codes stabilytrak on and off
Air bags recalled about a year ago and still not fixed.
Takata recall - gm issued a recall for our vehicle in may, 2016 and to this date, dealers are still reporting no parts available to fix the defective air bags. we contacted cadillac customer service about this and we're told it may be several more months before parts are available or nhtsa closes the recall without repairs. the problem IS we've been trying to trade the car in on a new vehicle, however no dealers want the vehicle as they cannot resell them with a pending recall and no parts are available to fix it. what IS our recourse in making a claim with gm against the amount they have devalued our vehicle?
TL* takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade esv. The contact had not yet received notification, but was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The dealer was unable to determine when the manufacturer would supply the remedy and parts for the recall repair. The manufacturer was unable to provide a specific time frame that the parts would be available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

P0011 engine code once the check engine light comes on the truck rides horrible. Gm has no solution to this problem. Its a design flaw lubricating the cam shaft. I change the oil once a month. Its not enough.. Gm knows this problem exist and covers it up.. I hope more escalade owners come forward and complain about this problem. Forcing owners to go to the dealership to clear the code isn't fair.....
Check engine , service traction control, stablilink and low oil pressure lights keep coming on. Dealer has had the truck trying to correct (or chase)the problem. They still are coming on. dealer says it maybe the motor
At cruising speeds the vehicle will display service stabilitrack, turn off the traction control, and reducing engine power. not allowing you to go faster the 15 mph. This happens on any road way.
TL* the contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade esv. While driving 30 mph, unknown warning lights illuminated. In addition, when changing gears, there was an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was undetermined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000.
TL* the contact owns a 2007 cadillac escalade esv. The contact stated that the exterior front and rear left side door handles began to separate from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the door handles needed to be replaced. No repairs were made to the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Passenger side front exterior door handle broke loose from the body of the vehicle. I contacted the dealer for repairs and was quoted $300+ for the repair. I looked online and was surprised that this IS an issue for numerous owners. So I contacted cadillac, and was initially told it was under warranty, and to take it in to the dealer for repairs at no cost to me. After taking off work, was told by the dealer that this was not true, when actuality the interior handles are the actual handles under warranty for the chrome pealing. At this point the chrome on the interior handles were not a concern of mine. After going back and forth with gm/cadillac and my local dealer for a couple of months, I bought a replacement handle and did the repair myself. About a year later the passenger side rear exterior door handle separated from the body, I contact cadillac to make a complaint, I do get a call back, the rep ask me what do I want them to do, I say " it would be great if they knowing this IS a ongoing issue that they pay for the repairs", I was told " this IS not a safety issue and doesn't fit the category of having a recall issued", I stated well if I was in an accident, and someone needed to open the door from the outside, IS this not a safety issue? I was basically told no. Again they ask what do you want us to do? I said well, this IS my second handle that has broken, at least pay some portion of it, I was told that IS left up to the dealer to decide. When my first handle broke, I tried to negotiate with the dealer to bring the cost down, with no success. So I let the rep., know just annotate this as a complaint. I again went on the internet and purchased a handle and did the repair myself. The handles can be found for less than $50 (with a warranty) and take about 30 min. To install. My interior handle were never replaced, go figure, no longer under warranty. *tr
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in US vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced. In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004L that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All Takata inflators produced with propellant 2004L contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated PSAN inflators. It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- Takata (now known as TK Global), the Independent Testing Coalition, and Exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of Takata desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004L (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004L is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L.The Office of Defects Investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated PSAN frontal inflators manufactured by Takata. This investigation will require extensive information on Takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated PSAN inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=EA21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). This investigation does not supersede EA15-001, which remains open.
In a letter dated august 27, 2008, general motors corp. (Gm) notified nhtsa that it will conduct a safety recall (nhtsa recall number 08v-441) to address a safety relateddefect that can result in engine compartment fire in approximately 850,000 vehicles equipped with a heated windshield washer fluid option.the subject vehicles of this investigation comprise over three-quarters of the recall population. According to gm, a short circuit on the printed circuit board for the windshield washer fluid heater module may overheat the control-circuit ground wire. This may cause other electrical features to malfunction, create an odor or cause smoke and in rare cases it may cause a fire.as a remedy, gm dealers will install a wire harness with an in-line fuse. In addition to the subject vehicles, several other gm models with the heated windshield washer fluid option are included in recall 08v-441: my 2006-2008 buick lucerne (manufactured august 2005 through november 2007); my 2008 buick enclave (manufactured february 2007 through april 2007); my 2006-2008 cadillac DTS (manufactured may 2007 through november 2007); my 2007-2008 saturn outlook (manufactured august 2006 through april 2007); and my 2007-2008 GMC acadia (manufactured august 2006 through april 2007) vehicles.gm IS instructing owners to take their vehicle to a dealer for service if they experience symptoms of windshield washer heater module short circuits. Gm's recall resolves the safety defect concerns pursued by this investigation.this engineering analysis IS closed.
In response to an information request letter sent by the office of defects investigation(odi) during preliminary evaluation pe08-010, gm provided odi with 41 allegations of non-crash engine compartment fires including 16 allegations of fires originating with the ignition in the off position.one of the fires was determined to be caused by an arson event.odi has also received 5 reports, 4 of which are of duplicative of reports provided by gm, alleging non-crash engine compartment fires in the subject vehicles.in total, odi IS aware of 41 non-crashengine compartment fires in the subject vehicles that are unrelated to arson.eight of the 41 fire allegations also allege property damage as a result of the fires.this preliminary evaluation has been upgraded to an engineering analysis (ea08-010) to further assess the scope, frequency, origin and cause of the alleged non-crash related engine compartment fires in the subject vehicles.
