Seemed to help but still had a problem with brakes not releasing complete one or one wheels appling brake pressure at times. Has gotten worse but intermittent. Reporter to the dealer right front wheel got so hot it was smoking friday 9/2/20. Has been about a year and 5000 miles later took back to dealer could not duplicate the problem. Recommend flushing power steering fluid which I did. Not sure if problem fixed. Also reported severe frame rust dealer said must have been up north. Contacted chevrolet said while the dealer had the truck would inspect and advise. No response after 3 days. Will include pictures. Appears frame has no rust protection.

Power steering lines rust through and spray down motor compartment. gm also has a known issue with the throttle body switches not functioning correctly causing serious loss of power immediately and has a service bulletin, but only honored if less than 120K miles and that put my truck out.
Takata recall. it's been 2 years since I received the first notification. at that time, I contacted the dealer and they said that the recall was active but they were running out of parts to fix the problem. So, I contacted gm customer service and they said that takata was working on it and they would send a notification once the parts available. I saw the alert on dash board a few times but I was waiting for the notification until today 02-12-18. I was checking my correspondence and I found a notice from tk holdings inc. about the bankruptcy proceeding in japan. so, I contacted again the dealer and they said the same. No parts to fix it!! what else should I do? I don't want to be at risk if my vehicle IS not safe in case of an accident.
TL* the contact owns a 2010 chevrolet silverado 2500. While driving various speeds, the transmission coolant lines leaked oil onto the exhaust. Takata recall this recall was issued 5/27/2016. no remedy has been made yet. the recall says that the nhtsa granted them until august 2017 to have a remedy, yet none exists.
I was notified of the recall but gm has failed to make the parts and labor available. Now I have been notified that tk holdings are in chapter 11 and I doubt if anything will remedy this defect.
Major cracking in the dash of my truck. started on the of the passanger side airbag and has since spread. also cracking in front of the driver above the steering wheel.
Check engine warning light came on then immediately lost all engine power completely stalled), electrical (except headlights), power steering, power brakes. engine would not restart after vehicle stopped (went into walk home mode), not even the horn would work! after about 20 minutes, the engine would restart and I could drive home, but with the check engine light on. I took the truck to the dealership the next day. the reprogrammed the main computer. after a few days, it happened again! took the truck back to the dealer. they said they would need to order a new computer, they reprogrammed the defective computer again and said they would call when the new one was in. the same condition repeated itself a few more times before the new computer came in and they replaced it. no problems since. I consider loosing all power in a turn onto an interstate rather dangerous! the dealership confided my experience was not at all unusual with these vehicles.
I have a 2010 chevy 2500 HD when I put the car I park it sounds like the doors unlock but they don't it started on my drivers door now its happening on passenger door. I've tried to unlock manually it wont work I've unlocking from the remote and the door lock switches on both doors it takes multiple times with both and then able to get out. Tried to put gas into my fuel tank and it took 20 min to put in 10 gal! Took my truck to dealer and they put in a revised evap vent valve solenoid! On the web I see that this IS a common on 2006-2013 chevy trucks! Why does chevy not fix this as a recall! *tr
While towing a 2010 forest river wildcat 5TH wheel rv on I-75 10 miles north of atlanta, ga a tire blew on the trailer. the tread had separated on the tire. the tread blew up into the trailer, breaking all the kitchen pipes and blew a hole in the kitchen floor. per insurance adjuster it did $3,000 in damage. we had to replace all 4 tires at a cost of $510 and pay $500 deductible on insurance policy. tire were trail express dot1kmm16a with less than 5,000 miles on it. *tr
When it rains or when the temperature IS below 32F all the windows steam up and the defroster will not clear them up. This condition makes it vary hard to see out the windows. I have 2 of these 2010 silverados and they both do the same thing. The dealer ray skillman 3891 south post road indianapolis in told me they know they have a problem and chevrolet has no fix for the problem. I feel that this condition could cost my family and myself and other people their lives. *tr
115,000 both front wheel bearing assemblies require replacement cost of $1300 as evidenced by low rumbling on wheel movement and slight side to side movement of both wheels. Bearing IS sealed and cannot be lubricated. *Tr
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in US vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced. In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004L that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All Takata inflators produced with propellant 2004L contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated PSAN inflators. It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- Takata (now known as TK Global), the Independent Testing Coalition, and Exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of Takata desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004L (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004L is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L.The Office of Defects Investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated PSAN frontal inflators manufactured by Takata. This investigation will require extensive information on Takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated PSAN inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=EA21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). This investigation does not supersede EA15-001, which remains open.
