Air bag front impact sensor are no longer available from manufacturer. Airbag system in inoperable.
Front air bag sensor part is not available. Part number 85597996 has been discontinued without a replacement. As such, I have no airbag system on my truck.
Odometer Fraud. The contact considered purchasing a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500 from a local dealer. The contact stated that vehicle mileage was listed as 159,000, but the Carfax report listed the mileage as 400,000.
my 2007.5 GMC Duramax has been parked for 1 month, had to barrow a truck to go to work, just not willing to pay the 1600-4500 dollars that suppliers or private sellers are asking for the TCM, tried a private seller on EBAY and it turned out to be a scam, local Dealership has no clue on ETA, I use my truck 6 days out of the week and now sitting not being moved may cause other issue when I do finally get it going again, the problem with my durumax is the TCM Transmission Control Module, I was already at home when issue started.
I left my vehicle for service (19 April 2023 - approximately 8:30 am CT) for an urgent safety recall to Bommarito West County GMC dealership located at 15736 Manchester, Ellisville, MO 63011 (Phone: 636-391-7200). When I drove the vehicle in the dealership and had not issues driving and steering. And when I picked it up at approximately 12:30 pm the same day the service consultant (Joshua Delanoix) did not bring the vehicle to me the same as I left it. Joshua asked that I pick it up in the parking lot, instead. I drove off the lot and noticed that the steering wheel would pull severely off to the right side when breaking causing the car to become unstable and steering towards oncoming traffic. I slowed down until I could retain better control of the vehicle to get home. Then, at approximately 4:30 pm, I drove back to the dealership and spoke to the same service consultant. He then referred me to the service manager (Pat Roberts). I explained to service manager that I could not drive the vehicle safely and requested a safety check. Pat refused to check the service work or the vehicle safety and disregarded my concerns. Afterwards, I spoke to the sales manager (Larry Buchhorn) and explained again my safety concern and he followed up with the same service manager and told me that there was nothing they could do and that the service manager's supervisor (Mike Simms) would contact me. Finally, I was allowed to drive out of the dealership with the same safety issue for the second time.
The steering wheel air bag deployed when parked and rear windows were going up and down by themselves. There was no impact.
The vehicle IS used as a plow truck on private property(farm). It IS not registered or insured. GMC refuses to tow it to the nearest dealership for its airbag recall. They are telling me I have to pay for the tow there and back(18 miles). they have sent out emails stating they will give me a $50 gift card, also they will give me a loaner car. I should not have to pay for there bad airbag. please help. Thank you for your time i. This matter.
Clutch peddle broke out in may 2019. plastic clutch master pushed out of clutch peddle because of poor design. *tr
I had started the truck, connected a landscape trailer and started out of the yard, I stopped in the driveway to check the safety chains. While I was outside the vehicle I heard a bang. when I got back in the truck the airbag light was on and both front seatbelts were locked.
TL* the contact owns a 2007 GMC sierra 2500. The contact noticed numerous cracks in the dashboard around the passenger side air bag area. Larry stovesand buick GMC in paducah, kentucky and royal oaks chevrolet in paducah, kentucky were made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.
I own a 2007 GMC sirrea 2500hd slt truck and it has cracks in the dash board.which from my research these gm trucks and more have a history of cracking and gm refuses to correct the problem. It would be great if gm would admit to this problem and fix it at their expense.the truck was just sitting when I noticed the cracks. The cracks are located above the gauge panel and on the corner of the passenger airbag.
Brake lines failed on my 2007 GMC 2500 and my 2007 GMC 1500. it appears to be a common problem with GMC vehicles from 2003 to 2009. Why wasn't these vehicles recalled for this. I was told that GMC was offering a discounted price for failed brake lines, but the dealer charged me full price. $1,667.00. The discounted price was supposed to be $500.00.
My truck has a defective dash that has cracked in multiple places for no reason and no rough treatment or anythig that would cause it to break, it cracked and broke all on its own... And GMC should be responsible for replacing because it IS a safety hazard. This IS a defect happening to thousands of these trucks and all the cracks and breaks and in the same exact spots which would seem to be a manufacturer defect not a consumer issue...if I were to get into an accident the defective broken dash could seriously injure someone. My truck IS also part of the takata recall and I can not go in to get the air bag fixed because it will further break my dash. This dash issue IS a major safety issue that needs to be addressed and a recall needs to be made for this issue
August 19, 2016 truck was in an accident when the vehicle went out of control.. a bracket on the left front of the truck broke and there appeared to be a crack on it. we believe the accident was caused by the bracket braking and then made it so that we could not control the vehicle
TL* the contact owns a 2007 GMC sierra 2500. While driving 55 mph, the seat belt independently unbuckled. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently on several occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was provided gm case number: 8-293255-7588. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
TL* the contact owns a 2007 GMC sierra 2500. The contact received a recall notice regarding the air bags and was repaired. In addition, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer, but the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
The dash of my 2007 GMC 2500hd pickup truck has cracked in several places including around the passenger side airbag, up and over the instrument cluster hump, and in the middle of the dash. these cracks have expanded over the past year and have become quite large. I am concerned that the cracks at the airbag cover may impede the proper function of the airbag system as well. this seems to be an ongoing problem with many GMC truck owners with model years 2007 - 2011 and my truck displays cracking very similar to others posted to websites on the internet.
Takata recall. notice sent out july 2015. no corrective action available. repair plan should be in place and active.
Takata recall dealer sent recall letter in 2015 went to dealer 3 times over time, no parts available. Called GMC gave them same info. There answer this message IS being recorded explained went to dealer no parts there reply to me bottom line, do not have any passengers in vehicle or replace parts at my expense. This IS unexceptable they have parts for new vehicles being built this IS unacceptable for every new car built they should replace one on recall or stop production on new vehicles. Cheaper to pay death of person than fix problem. thank you

The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v324000 (air bags); however, the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
The door handles are peeling the fake chrome and it IS razor sharp. my interior handles have cut 3 people to date.
The dash around the airbag IS cracked and I'm concerned about shrapnel if the airbag were to deploy.

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. See 2016 Blomquist Report at www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/documents/expert_report-hrblomquist.pdf.Consequently, all frontal inflators using propellant 2004 that do not contain a "desiccant" (a substance that traps and holds moisture) in US vehicles are under recall. These "non-desiccated" inflators either have been or are required to be replaced. In some cases, the remedy part for these recalled inflators was, or will be, an inflator using either propellant 2004 or 2004L that does contain a desiccant. None of these "desiccated" remedy parts (which were installed in older model year vehicles) are currently under recall for a degradation concern. Certain subsets of desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004 for use as original equipment, however, have been recalled for a degradation concern. All Takata inflators produced with propellant 2004L contain desiccant, and none of these desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L are under recall for a degradation concern. There have been no reported field ruptures in any non-recalled desiccated PSAN inflators. It is understood that desiccants fully saturate at some threshold, at which point any additional moisture will not be captured. This means the degradation process observed in non-desiccated inflators using propellant 2004 may also occur in non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004, assuming additional moisture enters the inflator and high temperature cycling occurs. Based on available information, desiccant saturation can occur within the first five years in the worst environments, and the time required for full saturation is affected by multiple factors. While no present safety risk has been identified, further work is needed to evaluate the future risk of non-recalled desiccated inflators using propellant 2004.Three entities -- Takata (now known as TK Global), the Independent Testing Coalition, and Exponent -- have been studying the long-term behavior of Takata desiccated PSAN inflators using propellant 2004L (as well as 2004) in the presence of moisture and temperature cycling. The research efforts, which include development of predictive modeling techniques and field sample analysis, are ongoing. To date, none of the researchers have identified field evidence showing that propellant 2004L is undergoing a degradation process that leads to aggressive deployment and potential rupture. However, the time in service of such inflators remains short compared to that of the inflators using propellant 2004. Further study is needed to assess the long-term safety of desiccated inflators using propellant 2004L.The Office of Defects Investigation is opening this investigation to examine whether a safety defect related to propellant degradation exists in non-recalled desiccated PSAN frontal inflators manufactured by Takata. This investigation will require extensive information on Takata production processes and surveys of inflators in the field. Lists of recall actions that may have used desiccated PSAN inflators as remedy parts, as well as the makes and models originally manufactured with them, is available with the downloadable version of this document (see nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=EA21002 -- note this information is subject to change/revision as the investigation proceeds). This investigation does not supersede EA15-001, which remains open.
In a letter dated august 27, 2008, general motors corp. (Gm) notified nhtsa that it will conduct a safety recall (nhtsa recall number 08v-441) to address a safety relateddefect that can result in engine compartment fire in approximately 850,000 vehicles equipped with a heated windshield washer fluid option.the subject vehicles of this investigation comprise over three-quarters of the recall population. According to gm, a short circuit on the printed circuit board for the windshield washer fluid heater module may overheat the control-circuit ground wire. This may cause other electrical features to malfunction, create an odor or cause smoke and in rare cases it may cause a fire.as a remedy, gm dealers will install a wire harness with an in-line fuse. In addition to the subject vehicles, several other gm models with the heated windshield washer fluid option are included in recall 08v-441: my 2006-2008 buick lucerne (manufactured august 2005 through november 2007); my 2008 buick enclave (manufactured february 2007 through april 2007); my 2006-2008 cadillac DTS (manufactured may 2007 through november 2007); my 2007-2008 saturn outlook (manufactured august 2006 through april 2007); and my 2007-2008 GMC acadia (manufactured august 2006 through april 2007) vehicles.gm IS instructing owners to take their vehicle to a dealer for service if they experience symptoms of windshield washer heater module short circuits. Gm's recall resolves the safety defect concerns pursued by this investigation.this engineering analysis IS closed.
In response to an information request letter sent by the office of defects investigation(odi) during preliminary evaluation pe08-010, gm provided odi with 41 allegations of non-crash engine compartment fires including 16 allegations of fires originating with the ignition in the off position.one of the fires was determined to be caused by an arson event.odi has also received 5 reports, 4 of which are of duplicative of reports provided by gm, alleging non-crash engine compartment fires in the subject vehicles.in total, odi IS aware of 41 non-crashengine compartment fires in the subject vehicles that are unrelated to arson.eight of the 41 fire allegations also allege property damage as a result of the fires.this preliminary evaluation has been upgraded to an engineering analysis (ea08-010) to further assess the scope, frequency, origin and cause of the alleged non-crash related engine compartment fires in the subject vehicles.
