Risk and remedy
Risk
Both nhtsa and gm discourage placement of a child in a front seat. nevertheless, there are individual circumstances that may require placement of a child in a restraint in the front center seating position of this vehicle that does not offer a rear seat. lack of access to the top tether anchor and a lack of instructions as to how to use it, may result in improper installation of a child restraint. improper installation of a child restraint can result in a reduction in the restraint's performance in the event of a crash and an increased risk of injury or death to the child seated in the restraint.
Remedy
Dealers will cut a hole into the back panel trim cover to allow access to the top tether anchor for the front center seat position and will provide supplemental information as to use in the owner's manual. the manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule for this campaign. owners may contact chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, GMC at 1-866-996-9463, isuzu at 1-800-255-6727 or visit gm's website at www.gmownercenter.com.
Gm IS recalling 185,903 model year 2004-2009 colorado, GMC model year 2009-2004 canyon, model year 2006 I-280, I-350, model year 2007-2008 I-290, and I-370, passenger vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of alabama, arizona, florida, georgia, hawaii, louisiana, mississippi, nevada, new mexico, puerto rico, south carolina, texas…
Risk and remedy
Risk
This condition could cause the simultaneous loss of all brake lamps or cause all of the brake lamps to stay on continuously. Both of these conditions could fail to warn others of the driver's intentions and could lead to a vehicle crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the necessary components as specified in the recall bulletin free of charge. gm anticipates that parts will be available by june 2010. A special coverage for vehicles registered in all other states will be implemented in the same time frame. In the interim, owners who experience the failure can obtain a free repair, however they will be required to return when the new design part becomes available. owners may contact chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, GMC at 1-866-996-9463, isuzu at 1-800-255-6727 or at www.gmownercenter.com.
Certain sport utility vehicles and trucks fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 110, "tire selection and rims." these vehicles have an incomplete tire rim designation on the certification/tire label located on the driver's door edge. in addition, the label may also be missing the tire load rating on the label.…
Risk and remedy
Risk
If a customer replaces a wheel and only relies on the rim size designation that IS indicated on the label, a wheel that IS of a different rim contour designation may be installed. it may be difficult or impossible to mount the tire on a wheel with the wrong contour. if the tire IS mounted on the wheel with the wrong contour, the wheel and tire may not perform as intended, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
A label that will correct the label originally installed will be mailed to consumers along with installation instructions. the customer will have the option for dealers to install the label. the recall begaon on november 7, 2006. owners should contact cadillac at 1-866-982-2239, chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438, and GMC trucks at 1-866-996-9463.

There is a recall for my year of Colorado but not my vin. The recall is for 04-09 Colorado trucks for a defective brake light switch. Defective switch=no brake lights. My 2007 Colorado brake light switch is defective, therefore I have no brake lights. The switch has been tested and found to be defective, but a search of my vin shows no recalls. It's obvious that my vehicle and likely many more vehicles are effected than what are covered under this recall.

My 2007 chevrolet colorado LS 4 cylinder 2.9 litre has always randomly won't start. I researched this and every year of the colorado has had this issue of randomly not starting, countless dollars have been spent trying to figure it out, chevrolet will not say it IS an issue and it IS a huge issue for almost every single year. Passlock issue? Just costed me 266.00 at the chev garage and my truck still IS struggling to start, been told starter and battery are fine. Alternator voltage regulator are fine. Lemon please recall for this issue it's so unfair to us consumers to waste money trying to figure out a faulty design in a vehicle. Go on you tube, countless people share the same issue. Could get me fired from my job for my truck not starting constantly. It will start countless times then not start usually when you need it the most. Estero bay chevrolet has my records.

Vehicle sat idle for a few years before my ownership, then was in constant motion on highways and city streets for 2 years in my possession. Unsure how an 11 year old vehicle could have this happen, but at some point the vehicle developed 2 large cracks in the frame (one on the drive side and one of the passenger side, both just behind the doors of their respective sides of the vehicle) causing the bed of the truck to lean into the cab of the truck. pictures included in this post are of the bed leaning into the can, and one picture at the worst visible angle of the crack on each side of the vehicle's frame.

The passlock anti-theft device keeps my vehicle from starting thinking it's being stolen.. Disabling the fuel pump.. This IS a safety issue and has also made me late for work several times and stranded. It started occurring this year july 22, 2017 with no prior incidents. It's occurring on a regular interval and it's getting to the point that I cant rely on my vehicle to start as normal. Please let there be a recall on getting the manufacturer general motors to fix this on my colorado as it's the only fault on this vehicle. The faulty passlock systems should be a recalled item since it will disable the fuel pump and having to wait 10 minutes for the the system to reset at unknown or unsafe places. I am a single mother with two kids and I rely on my vehicle to commute to and from school and work. Luckily the incidents have occurred at work, at home, at walmart parking lot.. But who knows when the system decided as it gets worst. my seventeen year old son has taken the vehicle out and I'm always worried about this safety due to this faulty passlock anti-theft device. The vehicle has 181,450 miles, no check engine lights show on dash.. Other than this issue.. It's the only reason the vehicle IS mostly parked in my driveway.. Only myself will take the drive it for short distances. I wish and hope to have the manufacturer render a needed recall on this passlock anti-theft device system... .Updated 10/04/17 *bf

On may 6, 2017, our 2007 chevrolet colorado was driven approximately 400 miles with several stops and turned off with no problems. once we arrived at destination, said vehicle was parked in driveway of relative's home. lapse time of about an hour, then the truck would not start. nothing electrical worked. after leaving the truck overnight, the next morning the truck started up and ran as if nothing ever happened. we returned the 400 miles home without incident. a month later, (6/12/17) the truck was driven about 5 miles, parked, turned off at a grocery store. approximately 30 minutes of shopping, returned to truck and it would not start. had to leave it there and hopefully it will start in the morning. I am deeply concerned about complaints I have encountered on several websites about these vehicles. it appears that this in not an uncommon problem with the chevrolet colorado. it also appears as if no problem has been acknowledged by chevrolet nor a recall has been issued. after much research I can find no definitive solution to the problem. surely chevrolet could at least give us a fix for this problem as it has caused all kinds of inconvenient situations and life threatening incidents when the truck decides to quit running at interstate speeds.
