TL* the contact owns a 1995 dodge RAM 2500. The contact searched online for recalls pe vin and found nhtsa campaign number: 01v037000 (vehicle speed control) as an unrepaired recall per the nhtsa vin search. An unknown dealer was contacted and stated that the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was then taken to landmark dodge chrysler jeep RAM of marrow (6850 mt zion blvd morrow, ga 30260, 678-251-2270) and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The truck has experienced the phenonomen known as the death wobble. Extremely violent shaking of the steering wheel and front suspension to the point that the vehicle IS almost out of control. Today it happened at 70 mph on the freeway. It has happened as slow as 40 my in the past. I had to pull over very quickly on the freeway today in a very dangerous scenario with semi trucks coming up behind me. twice I have taken it to mechanics that have replaced the track bar and the steering damper. It IS a recurring problem even when you take preventative measures. I am afraid to drive the vehicle. It was extremely dangerous today.
Headlight switch, socket and associated wiring burnt up, causing loss of lighting function. I was only doing 30 mph and was able to pull into a parking lot without any danger to other motorists. I had to purchase and replace the switch, socket and about 8" of wiring.
TL* the contact owns a 1995 dodge RAM 2500. While driving 40 mph, the front suspension and wheels began to bounce and shook uncontrollably. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the track bar needed to be replaced. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Driving down road, tire developed a vibration. Loud explosion, tread separated and sidewall has a vertical tear in it. Damaged rear of truck bed. Truck has a second tire that IS exhibiting the same vibration, but has not blown yet, with a vertical depression in sidewall
Vehicle experienced loss of lights due to electrical damage to headlamp switch and wires, which was documented and repaired in recall #99v024000.
TL* the contact owns a 1995 dodge RAM 2500. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to accelerate independently. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop and the engine continued to rev without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I purchased this truck this past summer. I found recently that several safety recalls had not been performed on the truck. I took the truck to the dealer. they refused to complete the ignition switch wiring recall until I paid them to trace all of the wiring that could be affected because one of the wires on the ignition switch harness had melted. they did not know how much this might cost me. the dealer contacted fca to see if the factory would "contribute" to the cost. fca declined. I contacted fca and they told me on a vehicle of this age they were no longer responsible for anything beyond the extent of the recall repair. I said that was fine - just do the recall. they refused to authorize the recall repair unless I agreed to allow the dealership to trace all of the wiring they suspected could be damaged. I'm at a loss here. who can I contact for help? fca knows the wiring for the ignition switch will melt and possibly cause a fire. it IS quite evident the wiring has melted - even burnt off. how IS it that they are not responsible for the complete repair of damage caused by this known defect? they seem to be saying they are no longer responsible due to the age of the vehicle. they are calling the service adviser at the dealership their "trained expert". And he cannot confirm that the failure IS not just "wear and tear". IS this true? does nhtsa allow manufacturers to use this as an excuse to not perform a recall?

Nhtsa # ea198010 headlight switch recall excluded the b1500 and b2500 series stating that the power draw IS not as great as the b3500 series. this IS in error. my 1995 b2500 burned out this same light switch and left me with no headlights. (i have not added any additional lighting). I request that ea98010 be reopened to include the b1500 and b2500 series trucks as this IS a safety hazard which IS the same problem as the b3500 series. I replaced the switch at my expense and can send you the old one if you need it. *tr

Death wobble. I have been having constant problems with the front end of my dodge RAM 2500, most recently after replacing the steering knuckles, tie rods in the stabilizer bar, bushings in the stabilizer arms, all the ball joints, and track arm, and constantly balancing tires it has developed what all the blogs are calling the "death wobble" I'm getting sick and tired of replacing everything in the front end of this truck with no decent fixes available on the part of dodge. this shake and wobble IS so violent that if there were ice or water on the road, I am sure someone could easily be killed at 70 mph. *Tr
Pep boys futura adventurer LT 265/75r16. I had two delamination events with severe vehicle damage on two totally different dates and sets of tires of same brand and size. *Tr
The dashboard in my 1995 dodge RAM 2500 has all but fallen completely out of the truck... It started as a small crack, and now has sharp edges, and any time I have a passenger I feel as though im putting their life in danger in the case of an accident occurring... The dash has a hole in it almost a foot long in it, and all the edges are extremely sharp... You can tell the plastic IS defectively fragile... There are numerous dodge owners from RAM 1500's up to 3500's all complaining about the same thing. This IS a problem that defiantly needs to be looked into. Thanks. *Tr

5/31/2008 I purchased 4 definity dakota a/t truck tires lt265/75r16 for my 1995 dodge RAM pickup. one of them detreaded almost immediately but was replaced under warranty. december 2009, my front right detreaded at 40 mph while driving on a city road. early january, the front left detreaded driving 65 mph on the fl turnpike, leading me to suspect a defect. Last night, my left rear detreaded while driving 70 mph on I-75, nearly causing a roll-over. significant damage to my truck body occurred as the tread spun around cutting through sheet metal. *Tr

NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
Odi has identified 30 incidents where it IS alleged the seat back collapsed in a rear impact crash.these incidents are alleged to have contributed to 23 injuries and two deaths.the data presented to odi show that the seat back strength of the front seats comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 207. Seating system.according to daimlerchrylser the front seats were designed to collapse rearward in rear impact crashes as part of the energy absorptioncapabilities of the seating system to reduce the chance of serious injury to the occupant.rates of occurance were compared to peer vehicles, and it was shown that the performace of the subject vehicle was comparable to those vehicles.in view of the forgoing, it IS unlikely that nhtsa would issue an order for the notification remedy of a safety defect in the subject vehicles as defined by the petitioner at the conclusion of the investigation requested in the petition.therfore, in view of the need to allocate and prioritize the nhtsa's limited resources to best accomplish the agency's mission, the petition IS denied.for further details, refer to odi's response to the petition published in the federal register vol.69, no. 60 , dated march 29, 2004.
Mr. Larry a. Sackey submitted a petition to the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) by letter dated april 18, 2003, requesting that nhtsafurther investigate the defective collapsible steering shaft system on 1987-1995 vehicles manufactured by the daimlerchrysler corporation.in part because of 49 cfr ? 30120(G), nhtsa has decided to limit the scope of the petition vehicles to 1993-1995 models, excluding the 1993 jeep grand cherokee and 1994-1995 dodge RAM series trucks that were recalled (93v210 & 96v230) for steering column failure.if the analysis of these vehicles had identified a potential problem, the scope could have been expanded in an investigation.a review of odi's data base shows no recent complaints and a lack of a complaint trend concerning the subject issue on the subject vehicles as a whole or by individual models.therefore, the petition IS denied.for details, see federal register notice volume 68, no. 130, july 8, 2003.
Alleged that the throttle cable can fray or sever during normal use resulting in the throttle not returning to idle or an inability to accelerate.
Allege failure of the coil spring/shock absorber bracket at its attachment to the vehicle frame may allow collapse of the front suspension, and potentially affect steering or braking system performance
The headlamp switch in the subject vehicles can over-heat and fail resulting in loss of head lamps and possibly other lights.daimlerchrysler conducted a series of tests and determined that the 3500 series IS prone to generating head lamp switch temperatures in excess of the switch lubricant threshold of 100 degrees centigrade.when this occurs, the lubricant solidifies and adheres to the switch contach surfaces increasing internal resistance and therfore, temperature.daimlerchrysler informed the nhtsa that it would initiate a recall of 79,3665 model year 1994-1997 dodge 3500 series RAM trucks only based on additional testing from which it determined that the 1500/2500 series vehicles nominally operate significantly below the temperature threshold of the switch lubricant.owners of 1500/2500 series trucks were sent a notification letter advising of the proper methods for adding aftermarket lighting accessories.
