Risk and remedy
Risk
Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.
Remedy
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, inspect the BTSI, and, as necessary, replace it, free of charge. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T79.
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 trucks manufactured March 27, 2009, to September 5, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the electrical connectors of the diesel fuel heater may overheat.
Risk and remedy
Risk
If the connectors overheat, the fuel heater may leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the harness side connector with a silver plated beryllium copper terminal service kit, and inspect the fuel heater for leaks, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. Chrysler issued interim notification to owners on December 8, 2014. The recall began on April 27, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P65.
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 RAM 2500 4X4 and 3500 4X4 trucks, 2008-2012 Dodge RAM 3500 4x2 Cab Chassis, and model year 2008 Dodge RAM 1500 Mega Cab 4x4. The left tie rod assembly may break.

Risk
A failure of the tie rod assembly may result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Chrysler notified owners on January 16, 2014 that dealers would inspect vehicles and replace the steering linkage assembly, if necessary. On or about February 27, 2014, Chrysler ceased its recall remedy program due to parts quality concerns, and then re-initiated it on or about April 14, 2014. In July 2015, and under a consent order with NHTSA, the company agreed to offer owners three options for remedying their vehicles: perform the original remedy, offer to repurchase the vehicle at the fair market value plus 10%, or offer an additional incentive offer towards the purchase of a new Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, or Fiat vehicle. Chrysler will notify owners of the new recall options in a letter expected to be mailed on August 31, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N49.

The contact owns a 2010 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle was driven over uneven pavement, causing the ignition key to fall out of the ignition. The contact coasted to the side of the road and placed the key back in the ignition and continued driving; however, the failure reoccurred several more times. The contact found information of NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V200000 (Electrical System). The contact called the dealer about the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact called another dealer, R C Bliss Inc (901 Lyndale Ave N, Faribault, MN 55021) and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

This is the 3rd time this happened to me. The first time I was driving around 55 and the truck started to shake so bad I could not actually hold onto the steering wheel, and I made it to the side of the road. I thought was a flat tire and I pulled over to find nothing wrong. The second was bad as it shook so violently, I was unable to make it to the side of the road, so I hit the brakes in the middle of traffic to stop. This 3rd time I happen to be traveling 65 mph on the interstate in PA and hit a small bump and all of the sudden the truck felt like it was bouncing off of the road. I hit the brakes to slow down and drove to the side and into a field. I purchased tie rods and actually the entire front suspension. This was the worst shaking I have ever felt in 45 years of driving. This is going to get me killed when this happens on the road. Please help. I had the recall performed on 1.27/2021 at razzari dodge, merced. they installed a new cat converter and exhaust manifold. when I got my truck back, I had an cel error code p2271 O2 sensor. I had to pay $707.74 and $978.98 to get the truck running. I had no previous cel. I think they broke the wiring harness or O2 sensors when they performed the recall. . I think the VE5 recall repair, should make the entire emissions system function, including the control electronics.

I took it to the dodge dealer for a recall notice I received, the recall was for the catalytic converter and the exhaust manifold to be replaced. The work was completed, I took the truck home and assumed things were fine. In january of this year I went under the truck to see about a oil leak I was having a problem with, I noticed the catalytic converter was dirty looking and had scratches on it. It had a brownish kind of light film on it. I did not look like a new one. I took it to another repair shop for their opinion. They couldn't be sure but they said it looks like an old one also, they inspected the exhaust manifold and told me it has rust stains on it and does not look like a new one. I am in need of someone to refer me to an expert so we can determine if weather or not the dealer actually replaced the the parts or not. Can you help please.

It's a random occurrence. While I'm starting it, I have to restop when I'm driving no warning, it's a manual transmission. That adds a huge danger when your truck dies in motion it's a big truck it's a work truck which makes it even more horrifying.!! Please take this seriously this IS a huge danger I can't stress how important this IS and I'm sure all the all of them are

After a few weeks, the light just stayed on and remains on. when my truck was in for service, I was informed the ocr module had failed and was quoted approximately $750 to repair. Seems to me this IS a non-serviceable safety component that has failed. I hope this system failure IS a recall issue.

Ive had to roll to the sie of the road on mutiple occassions until I can get it restarted, luckily I havent had an accident yet. I googled the issue and it seems to be a common problem with the win module on the dodge vehicles yet there hasnt been a recall initiated. It's turning into a daily occurrace with this.

On the evening of may 1ST, 2020, I pulled my 2010 dodge RAM 2500 trx 4WD into my sons? Driveway and dropped off my granddaughter. I went to back out of the driveway turning my wheel to the right as I backed out I heard what sounded like I ran over a large rock, as I pulled forward I turned my wheel to the left and proceeded forward only to have the truck go right back in the yard where I had just pulled out. I realized that there was an issue with the steering. I climbed under the truck to discover that the tie rod had sheared off at the pitman arm. This caused a complete loss of steering. I had a front-end alignment about 2 years ago with no issues. Prior to that I had a recall issue with the drag link about 3 or 4 years ago with no other known issues. I do not drive the truck off road just on paved roads. The parts are the factory sealed tie rod with no grease fitting. I have been repairing vehicles for over 40. I have never seen this type of failure. The normal failure mode for this part should have been lots of slack in the joint from loss of grease. This failure mode IS not acceptable! If I had been traveling at highway speeds and this part had broken I would have had total loss of steering and you know as well as I do when you hit your brakes the vehicle tends to pull to the right due to the slope of the road which IS designed for water runoff. This could have resulted in a catastrophic crash resulting in serious injury or death. This IS something that needs to be address immediately before someone dies! *tr

I've replaced the bulbs 4 times to no avail, it appears after some research that this IS a common problem with these 2500 trucks. After spending hundreds of dollars I am courious as to why chrysler has not issued a recall. I for one feel this issue IS a major safety concern

Original tipm failed at 151000 miles causing front turning signals to malfunction. The tipm controls all electrical components and sensors throughout the entire vehicle including fuel pumps and air bags. I was driving my vehicle on a city street when an alarm displayed on the instrument panel noting a front right turn signal lamp needs replacement. I replaced the bulb per replacement bulb number specified in the owners manual. Also, replaced the turn signal multi switch which both items did not resolve the issue. Made the decision to have a certified mechanic to diagnose the problem.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this investigation to determine if the failure of airbags to deploy during severe crashes, in certain vehicles, was the result of a safety related defect. During the investigation a complex failure was studied that can result in non-deployment of subject vehicle air bags and other restraint system devices in severe crash events. The subject vehicles may be equipped with an airbag control unit (ACU) for the supplemental restraint system (SRS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) manufactured by ZF-TRW. The ECU receives signals from crash sensors mounted in the vehicle and deploys the vehicle air bags and seat belt pretensioners in accordance with manufacturer design specifications. The ECU in the subject vehicles contains a model DS84 application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) which controls the communication of the crash sensor signal, firing commands (i.e., when to deploy the airbag(s) and/or pretensioners), and fault information (e.g., diagnostic trouble codes). In September 2016, FCA announced recall 16V-668 for certain model year (MY) 2010 to 2014 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep products manufactured with the subject ZF-TRW ACU. In this recall, FCA discussed an EOS condition that resulted in a failure of the subject DS84 ASIC, which caused air bag non-deployment. FCA noted that the defect condition had only been observed in vehicles equipped with sensor harnessing routed across the front of the vehicle. Other FCA vehicles that also used the subject ACU, but were not equipped with cross-car harnessing, had not experienced EOS failures, despite similar time in service. During the course of this investigation, ODI sent two separate Information Request (IR) letters to six vehicle manufactures (including FCA, Hyundai, Honda, Kia, Mitsubishi, and Toyota) and one IR letter to ZF-TRW. These IR letters resulted in ODI receiving comprehensive data from these manufacturers and suppliers. Studies of this data found that the DS84 ASIC does not have sufficient protection against negative electrical transients or electrical overstress (“EOS”) that can be generated in certain severe crashes. An electrical transient occurs when the electrical power supplied to a circuit changes momentarily over a short duration of time. In these severe crash cases, the crash sensors and other powered wiring can be damaged and short circuited so as to create a negative electrical transient of sufficient intensity and duration (that are outside the vehicle manufacturer's specification) to damage the ASIC before the restraint device deployment signal is received by the SRS ECU. This damaged signal can lead to incomplete or nondeployment of the air bags and/or pretensioners. Airbag non-deployment and/or lack of pretensioner operation can increase the risk or severity of injury in a crash.A total of 8 fatalities and 14 injuries were associated with known EOS events. The common element in all investigated manufacturers vehicles is the SRS ECU containing a DS84 ASIC manufactured by ZF-TRW. The risk associated with the ASIC is equally shared among all OEMS involved in the investigation. The actual real-world risk can be mitigated by other factors which were assessed by ODI during this investigation. The first mitigating factor involves protections built into the ACU design which protect the DS84 ASIC from damage. There are multiple strategies and levels of protection employed by different OEMs that provide effective EOS mitigation. The two most common strategies at the ACU level are circuit protection diodes on the remote senor signal lines, and current limiting resistors that protect critical components. The second mitigating factor is found at the vehicle level and involves the location and routing of the wires leading from the crash sensors to the SRS ECU. If the wires are well protected in a crash and are not routed with other power wires carrying large currents, the risk for an EOS event is significantly reduced or eliminated. These design specific factors combine to produce a spectrum of risk for the vehicles equipped with ACUs using the DS84 ASIC. Given the many of years of field exposure, it is possible to divide the subject population into two groups; vehicles which have experienced EOS events, and vehicles which have not experienced EOS field events. Four of the six OEMs involved in this investigation have experienced EOS field events on at least one of their models equipped with a DS84 ASIC. All vehicle models (including the Toyota models identified in the Failure Report Summary of the opening resume for this investigation) with field events have been recalled. In an abundance of caution, ODI kept this investigation open five years to monitor field performance and did not identify any field events on vehicles not included in existing safety recalls. Given the spectrum of risk identified in this investigation and that all vehicles with a demonstrated unreasonable risk have been recalled, ODI is closing this investigation. ODI is closing this investigation with the following manufacturer safety recalls: 16V-668, 18E-043, 18V-137, 18V-363, and 20V-024. With the recall actions taken by the subject vehicle and equipment manufacturers, this investigation is closed. - 10223854Service - Four Piece Oil Pan Gasket All Cummins Equipped Vehicles ONLY - The replacement oil pan gasket can be a four piece gasket rather than a single piece gasket. This applies to Cummins 5.9L and 6.7L engines only. Installation: 1. Clean the oil pan T-joints.~ 2. Fill the T-joint between the pan rail/gear housing and pan rail/rear seal retainer with sealant. Use Mopar Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant or equivalent. 3. Apply a 2-mm [0.063-in] bead of Mopar Engine Sealant RTV Silicone Rubber Adhesive, to the oil pan flange.~ 4. The four piece gasket will need to be assembled to make a complete oil pan gasket. 5. Lay the oil pan gasket(s) onto the oil pan flange.~ 6. Ensure the oil pan gasket segment joints are properly aligned. 7. Apply a 2-mm [0.063-in] bead of Mopar Engine Sealant RTV Silicone Rubber Adhesive, to the top of the oil pan gasket.~ 8. Install the oil pan. Starting from the center and working outward, tighten the oil pan bolts to 28 Nm [21 ft. lbs.].

If the transmission bracket to the transmission case fasteners are removed during servicing, the fasteners (Part Number 06511385A$) are one-time usage. Vehicles built prior to 10/23/2015 requires Service Kit PN 68461214AA; includes Transmission Isolator PN 68264483AA, and Adaptation Bracket 68264479AA and Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA Vehicles built after on or after 10/23/2015 will require only the Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA. 2. All 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the vehicle you are repairing has a crack in the flex plate or failed pump bushing inspect and confirm that both (2) dowel pins are present in the engine block, which align the transmission center line to the crank shaft centerline and visually inspect the dowel alignment holes in the transmission case. If the holes are damaged or elongated the transmission should be replaced to prevent further damage to the transmission/flexplate or pump bushing due to the inability to properly align the engine to the transmission during the repair. 3. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If pump bushing is scored or damaged and the dowel pin alignment holes are ok, replace the pump assembly as opposed to complete transmission. 4. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If vehicle is jerking/slipping with MIL code(s) P0740 or P2764, check TCC Solenoid operation. If TCC Solenoid is ok, the codes are indicative of a torque converter failure. Replace the torque converter.

The ITBM does not control the trailer lights. If the trailer lights are not working, do not change the ITBM.~ 2. If the Diagnostic Trouble Code(DTC) reported by the ITBM is C10C7-11 "Electronic Trailer Brake Control Output Short to Ground" or C10C7-12 "Electronic Trailer Brake Control Output Short to Battery", please verify the wiring on the trailer. The purpose of this faults is to protect the ITBM output from faulty trailer wiring.~ 3. If the customer complaint is ITBM not detecting the trailer connection. Do not change the ITBM until the system has been verified with load simulation and confirmed that ITBM is not recognizing the load. If load simulation indicates that the ITBM is operating properly, please verify the trailer wiring.~ 4. ITBM output will not be available if a trailer is not connect and plugged into the vehicle. The ITBM must detect a trailer before you will get trailer brake output.~ 5. Please follow the service manual procedures before changing the ITBM.~ This part can only be used as a replacement on vehicles with the Integrated Trailer Brake system already installed. Do not attempt to use this module for the purpose of adding the Integrated Trailer Brake system to a vehicle that was not originally equipped. You will encounter configuration difficulties. MOPAR has developed a kit, part number 82212548 to be used for installation of the Integrated Trailer Brake system on vehicles.
