Van is throwing P219A error code, this seems to be a known issue but Honda says my VIN isn’t covered, though I see other 2019 odyssey owners have had the same issue and issue with extended warranty coverage.
The front ADAS camera fails to work about 80% of the time, which gives me many warning alerts. My Honda mechanic said that it has a U3000-49 error code, which disables all primary driver-assist safety functions (CMBS braking, Adaptive Cruise, and Lane Keep Assist). This is clearly a safety hazard due to unexpected loss of active crash-mitigation tech. This problem has not caused me to be in an accident yet. However, because of this failure, the vehicle does not perform many of its expected crash-mitigation functions, which may contribute to a future collision.
When starting the vehicle there is a cascade of sensor warning errors that will keep popping up intermittently even pressing the ”enter “ button to dismiss them. The Crash Mitigation sensor has been reported several times to the local dealership and they have said that nothing is wrong with it. This behavior began when the van was still under warranty which has since ended. The main reason for this report is that I have no idea if there’s going to be any issues with it automatically braking and causing an accident or anything else such as not being able to dim my headlights, have no indication of other drivers being in my blind spots, lane assistance not working properly and the emergency brake not working properly. Aside from these issues is the fact that the errors keep coming up on my speedometer screen, blanking everything else out that is necessary information, to safely drive the van. The tire pressure sensors are also malfunctioning which is also a concern I brought up with my dealership and they refused to admit there were any problems with it. The crash mitigation sensor will create an error just from being in the heat according to the mechanic with the Honda Dealership and they wouldn’t repair it. This same issue has been happening to multitudes of other Honda owners who purchased their vehicles because of the promise by Honda that the multi sensor system was safe. This issue has, in fact, created an extremely dangerous situation for drivers and their families who rely on it each day. I’m therefore concerned about this situation and respectfully urging for an immediate recall of the affected Honda vehicles before people are killed by their products.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. While driving 45 MPH, the rear driver's side door failed to properly latch and unexpectedly opened while the contact's [XXX] child was in the rear seat. The contact pulled over and attempted to close the rear driver's side door, but the failure persisted. The failure mileage was 106,778. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

In addition, the passenger's side sliding door failed to latch as intended. The failure was intermittent. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The contact referenced a recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall for the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
UNKNOWN. The Honda dealer ( Arrow Head Honda, 8380 W Bell Rd, Peoria, AZ 85382) is not repairing the recall, even after multiple follow-up, putting the driver at risk. This has been more than 60days since the recall is announced. Every time, I contacted the dealer, They say that There is no parts available.
This is a follow-up to Complaint 11769813. On October 16, 2026, American Honda corporate officially denied repair assistance for a failed power sliding door latch assembly that refuses to cinch shut on my 2019 Honda Odyssey. Honda corporate stated that a primary door safety latch failing to lock a door shut is "normal wear and tear." This vehicle routinely transports children. The manufacturer is actively refusing to remedy a severe, documented safety hazard that mirrors the exact behavior of NHTSA Safety Recall 18V-795. The manufacturer's refusal to act leaves children at risk of the door opening while in motion.
While driving multiple alerts pop up on the dashboard distracting driver. Had 6 alerts that kept beeping while driving. Took to honda and they say forward facing camera has issues so affects all of these systems. Causing all the safety systems to not work. This car only has 55,000 miles and is only a few months out of warranty. With all the other rear camera recalls, this seems like a way bigger safety concern!
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at 41 MPH, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted into Neutral (N) and failed to shift into any other gear. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder of the road, where it required to be restarted before shifting into Park (P). The contact also stated that on multiple occasions while driving uphill and downhill, the transmission attempted to shift into Park (P), and a grinding sound was heard coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but no diagnostic trouble code was found. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by telephone, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 94,046.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V423000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to complete the recall repair was not yet available. A local dealer was notified of the issue and informed the contact that the recall repair could only be performed if another maintenance service was scheduled on the vehicle. The dealer also stated that servicing the recall could not be guaranteed even if an appointment was scheduled. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall remedy.
Front Camera has failed making safety systems not work.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a complete stop at a traffic light, the vehicle hesitated and failed to respond. The vehicle responded after several attempts and operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injector had failed and needed replacement. The contact notified the manufacturer of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 136,000.
So many warning signs on driver's side dash display. It IS related with front windsheild multi purpose camera. so I had to pay norm reeves honda dealer to repair and recaliber. it cost me around $2,500.
Fuel injectors need replaced at 130000 miles electronic touchscreen ac blower cuts out comes back on for no reason
On October 12, 2026, I contacted Gerald Honda of Countryside, IL, to schedule a repair for the rearview camera safety recall. I was informed that due to limited parts and availability, the earliest appointment they could offer was January 5, 2027. I ultimately had to push the appointment to January 7, 2027. This timeframe far exceeds the 60-day remedy window from the date of initial contact established in the safety recall notice, violating the terms provided for addressing this defect.
The vehicle experiences frequent and unpredictable loss of acceleration when starting from a stop. The issue is intermittent and difficult to reproduce under specific conditions. At times, when the accelerator is pressed, the vehicle fails to respond or moves only slightly. Even when additional pressure is applied to the accelerator, there may be little to no response, followed by a sudden and forceful surge forward, as if the accelerator had been fully depressed. I understand that fuel-pump recalls have been issued for certain vehicles of this make, model, and year; however, my vehicle's VIN is not currently included. Based on the symptoms and the severity of the issue, I believe my vehicle warrants further investigation to determine whether it should be included in the recall. This problem first began in 2020, following my purchase of the vehicle in 2019, and has repeatedly created dangerous driving situations. When attempting to cross oncoming traffic from a stopped position, the vehicle's failure to accelerate presents a serious risk of a broadside collision. On multiple occasions, my wife has been left stranded in the middle of an intersection because the vehicle failed to respond to the accelerator. Given the persistent nature of this issue and the significant safety risk it presents to the driver, passengers, and other motorists, I am requesting a thorough investigation into the cause of this malfunction and a review of whether my vehicle should be covered under the applicable fuel-pump recall or receive other appropriate corrective action.
I was driving on a parkway with my children aged [XXX] & [XXX]. No warning lamps or messages were present at any point before this incident: While driving straight ahead on the parkway my vehicle drove over a pothole causing the side airbags to deploy without warning. I immediately felt a burning sensation on my left arm & abdominal pain. My seatbelt had locked tightly, impairing mobility & making it difficult to view and judge the speed of other vehicles around me, thus making exiting the parkway difficult & dangerous. Upon stopping the vehicle I observed the left side curtain airbag & the driver's seat side airbag had deployed. My daughter and I, who are both asthmatic, had difficulty breathing as a result of the expelled airbag gas. My son, seated next to the airbag, suffered pain in his ears and tinnitus from the noise of the airbags. Upon inspecting the exterior of vehicle I observed no damage consequential to driving over the pothole. Inside the vehicle, a quick inspection revealed a damaged headliner from the side curtain airbag, a damaged driver seat from its airbag, & a driver's side seatbelt that would not retract or extend. I did not inspect other seatbelts. Front airbags did Not deploy. NYPD responded but did not take a report. The vehicle is now at a Honda Service department, Honda case#XXX. Presently, the case has been reviewed by a Honda case manager who refused repair for the damage resulting from this incident, in spite of an active recall addressing this issue. [MFR RECALL NO: UNW, NHTSA RECALL NO.:26V227- side & side curtain airbags INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY WHEN THE VEHICLE ENCOUNTERS STRONG ROAD IMPACTS SUCH AS POTHOLES]. I received no recall notice prior to this incident. I discovered the recall through my own research after this incident. I have no information on what if anything Honda has done to test or inspect any supplemental restraint system or airbag system components. Please see attached photos. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The power sliding driver-side (left rear) door latch assembly on my 2019 Honda Odyssey has experienced a complete mechanical and electrical failure. There were absolutely no warning signs, dashboard lamps, or messages prior to the door suddenly malfunctioning. The built-in closer motor now completely fails to cinch or suction the door shut, preventing it from securing safely into the vehicle frame and triggering a persistent error message on the dashboard after the failure occurred. This creates an immediate, severe safety hazard because this vehicle is routinely used to transport children passengers. An unlatched or unsecured sliding door places my children at direct risk of injury should the door open unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion. An authorized Honda dealership service department was contacted regarding this issue and flatly refused to provide a safety remedy or repair assistance, claiming my specific VIN falls outside the narrow manufacturing window of NHTSA Safety Recall 18V-795 (Honda Campaign Z33/O36). Furthermore, I escalated this critical safety issue to American Honda corporate to request assistance, but they have failed to give me an answer within their standard 48-hour response window and I am now approaching 72 hours with no resolution. Despite their refusal and lack of response, my vehicle is exhibiting the exact same dangerous component failure and defective behavior that prompted the original federal recall. The scope of the original recall is clearly too narrow, and it needs to be expanded immediately to protect families facing this manufacturing defect.
I was just driving normally on my way home with 5 codes suddenly appeared on my dash disable all the driver assist features.
Honda Front camera system failed causing drive assist issues. All ACC, Lane keep assist, forward collision , lane departure, automatic emergency braking, and transmission shifting are not working due to camera is failed. Dealer asked to replace the camera for car to be safe to drive
Forward facing multipurpose camera has failed triggering multiple warning lights. This occurred right after the last recall for the van was completed which replaced the rear camera.
6 months after purchasing our 2019 Honda Odyssey we got warning that popped up about lane departure, collision and cruise control not being able to work properly. When we took it in we were told it was our front camera and it needed to be replaced and recalibrated. It would come to almost $3000 total. It has started to work for a couple of hours 3 times now. We bought this vehicle for it's safety features for our large family, not sure we will get another Odyssey after our issues with this one.
In April of 2025 I had my vehicle towed to O"Donnell Honda because my car was sputtering and inoperable after getting gas a few min prior. The ran codes and got back PO300 PO3054 and PO306 misfires and unknown to me there was an active warranty recall on the fuel injectors. At this time I was withing the warranty period. The dealership told me that I got bad gas and their was nothing wrong with my car. I have spent the last 16 months taking my car back and forth to the dealer trying to figure out what this intermitent problem was with my car. I have at least three visits to the dealer and multiple phone calls with honda over this time. In addition to emails. Most times the code would disappear before I could make it to the dealer. I have also spoken to honda corporate and they have never mentioned this warranty until yesterday I had the issue again and they said it was my fuel injectors and want me to pay $2000 to repair it despite this being a known issues since 4/2025 when my car was withing the warraty period. They said they had no obligation to fix it back in May because they could not recreate the problem but that is not true according to their 21-010 Defect service bulletin. It specifically states they were to replace the fuel injectors. I have documentation to prove all of this. I have spent month and put out additional money on a situation that thye dealership refused to replace a known, warranty-extended safety defect that was officially scanned and documented prior to the 150,000-mile expiration window
The front camera all of a sudden is malfunctioning - the following has been affected because of it: auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
On October 28, 2025, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened PE25018 to investigate complaints of inadvertent deployment of the side curtain and/or side thorax air bags. These complaints concern model year (MY) 2018-2022 Honda Odyssey vehicles manufactured by American Honda Motor Co. (Honda). Honda issued recall 26V227 on April 9, 2026, to address concerns of inadvertent side air bag deployment. In the recall filing, the company stated that “[a]s of April 2, 2026, Honda has had 130 warranty claims, 25 reports of an injury, and no reports of death related to this issue from January 24, 2017 – April 2, 2026.” Honda states that the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) contains incorrect deployment parameters for the side thorax and side curtain air bags, which may cause inadvertent deployment when the vehicle encounters strong road impacts, such as driving over potholes, speed bumps, or road debris. Honda stated that the SRS control logic for the second and third rows of seating contained an insufficient deployment threshold margin, allowing signal inputs to be misinterpreted as side impacts and causing inadvertent deployment of the side thorax and side curtain air bags. Recall 26V227 states that dealers will reprogram or replace the SRS ECU with improved air bag deployment parameters. Consumers received notice of this recall in late May 2026. In view of the recall being conducted by Honda, ODI is closing this Preliminary Evaluation (PE). The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 414 reports of connecting rod bearing failures in the 3.5L V6 engine used in the following vehicles: Model Years (MY) 2018-2020 Acura TLX, MY2016-2020 Acura MDX, MY2016-2020 Honda Pilot, MY2018-2020 Honda Odyssey, and MY2017-2019 Honda Ridgeline. The subject engine failures were analyzed as part of a Recall Query (RQ24013). It was determined that these engine failures are outside the scope of Honda Recall 23V-751. Further, evidence gathered in conjunction with RQ24013 does not suggest this failure is caused by the same crankshaft manufacturing defect that is addressed by Honda in Recall 23V-751. Based on analysis of data from RQ24013, NHTSA has closed that investigation. The significant number of reports of engine failure in vehicles outside the scope of RQ24013 presents a potential safety risk that warrants further investigation. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation (PE) to further evaluate the scope and severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related issues. On June 3, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Preliminary Evaluation PE22005 after the agency received VOQs and several field reports concerning the Auto Idle Stop (AIS) feature on 2016-2019MY Honda Pilot vehicles. The complaints allege that the engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection with the AIS function engaged. The subject vehicles are equipped with a 3.5L engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission. On January 6, 2023, Honda released service bulletins 23-008 and 23-009. These service bulletins address the failure to restart issue in the 2016-2019MY Honda Pilot vehicles, as well as the 2015-2020 Acura TLX, 2016-2020 Acura MDX, 2019-2022 Honda Passport, and 2020-2023 Honda Ridgeline vehicles. The repair outlined in the service bulletins is a two-stage countermeasure to remedy the issue. The first stage is a Programmed Fuel Injection (“PGM-FI”) software update. The second stage is only deployed if the software update fails to remedy the issue. The second stage, depending on the model and model year, consists of replacement of the starter assembly, starter relays, and a valve adjustment. Additionally, Honda extended the warranty coverage to 10 years with unlimited mileage for vehicles requiring the second stage component replacement. ODI continues to receive complaints of the AIS failure to restart, with many complainants alleging the campaign countermeasures had been completed.NHTSA has reviewed Honda's Information Request Letter responses involving warranty claims, lawsuits, and consumer complaints in addition to ODI's own data. This Engineering Analysis is being opened to further consider the potential safety defect, including gathering additional data regarding Honda’s service campaign efficacy. ODI is additionally expanding the scope to encompass all vehicles addressed in Honda’s service bulletins 23-008 and 23-009 as well as newer model year vehicles, which are substantially similar to the vehicles covered by the service campaign. On November 8, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query RQ24013 to assess the scope of Honda recall 23V-751 after receiving complaints that alleged connecting rod bearing failures in vehicles that were not within the scope of recall 23V-751. In November 2023, Honda recalled 248,999 various Model Year (MY)2016–2020 Honda and Acura vehicles equipped with the 3.5L V6 engine. Honda recalled these vehicles due to a crankshaft manufacturing defect that caused premature connecting rod bearing wear and engine seizure. While the out-of-scope failures involved in these complaints appear to have a very similar failure mechanism as the recalled engines, a thorough analysis of all available data from Honda has not indicated that the same manufacturing defect exists in the out-of-scope engines as the engines recalled by 23V-751. Based on this analysis ODI has determined that Honda has properly defined the scope of recall 23V-751. Consequently, ODI will close this RQ investigation. NHTSA will continue to investigate these complaints of engine failure as part of a new Preliminary Evaluation Investigation (PE25008). The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by new circumstances.
