Risk and remedy
Risk
Without an emergency exit window, there would not be a second way for occupants to exit the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy

An awning that drops or extends beyond normal operation can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2022 Keystone Cougar travel trailers, equipped with a swing up table/bed base. The base may have incomplete welds that are unable to hold the intended weight, causing the table/bed base to drop unexpectedly.

A table or bed that drops unexpectedly can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Cougar 29FKD travel trailers. Improper clearance may allow the tires to contact the outrigger, causing damage to the tires.
Risk and remedy
Risk
Damaged tires can fail, causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will notch the existing outrigger and install an additional outrigger between the two tires to provide proper clearance, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 12, 2022. Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2022 Cougar fifth wheel travel trailers. These vehicles were manufactured with Load Range "D" (2540 lbs) tires, when they should have been equipped with Load Range "E" (2860 lbs) tires.

Risk
Incorrect load range tires can allow the vehicle to become overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy

There was a bulge showing near the front of the camper, dealer inspected and said there is frame flex, possibly broken welds on the frame, which is a common problem with the lippert manufactured frames. Model years directly before this year(2022) were recalled for the same problem. This seems to be a common issue for 2022 models as well but there still is no safety recall despite the inherent risk of them being on the road.

Vehicle was taken to the RV dealer to have annual maintenance done. During inspection it was discovered that 3 of 4 brakes were covered with grease from blown bearing seals. The vehicle has less than 3,000 miles and if not addressed could have resulted in an accident due to inability to stop the…
Vehicle was taken to the RV dealer to have annual maintenance done. During inspection it was discovered that 3 of 4 brakes were covered with grease from blown bearing seals. The vehicle has less than 3,000 miles and if not addressed could have resulted in an accident due to inability to stop the trailer using the designed braking systems. The supplier of the axles and brake systems was contacted and they informed us the seals are only warranted for 1 year. Seal failures are very common on RV's and need to be addressed to provide a design which will not fail prematurely (Less than 1 trip across the country). There are no warning indicators or messages indicating brake failure.

Vehicle is a 2022 Keystone Cougar 29RLI recreational vehicle. Safety issue is with the Solara awnings manufactured by Lippert. Awning fabric appeared to only be glued to the poly cord that secures it to the trailer. While we were setup, the awning roller fell away from the trailer. If we had been in transit, it could have hit a car in an adjacent lane, causing an accident. The rear awning is also failing but is still mostly in tact.
