Ford has a recall for 2015 and up 25s89 rear-view camera inspection, my camera has exact same issue in fact these parts involved in recall are the same!!! How IS it that ford starts recall with 2015?? And doesnt go back to 2013??? Makes no since whatsoever!! I've worked for ford for 35 years as a tech and im a 26 year senior master technician!!!! Can't explain stupid!!!

Rear view camera went blank and displayed "request service" also when it did work, display was blurred.
I kept smelling a burnt plastic smell. Eventually my driver side rear door did not lock. Upon inspection of the wiring the wire harness from the door to the truck showed the wires on the truck side had burned/melted the sheathing off the wires and leaving them exposed and touching.
Back up camera not working and showing a blank screen. Says to contact dealership.
LT265/70R17, I received a recall notice from Amazon where I purchased a set of 4 tires. I only use these tires for winter driving and the notice states I should remove them immediately. They do not say for me to purchase new ones at the same time or if I will be reimbursed for any (all) cost. I still have around 70% of wear on them and am in the mid-winter season of McCall ID. I can't see any fault at this time and will keep trying to contact Prinx Chengshan Tire North America, INC. Notice: NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 24T014000.
2014 ford f250 super duty 6.7 diesel. Coming down mountain in Arizona (bumblebee pass) hit small bump. Truck began violently shaking in the “death wobble mode”. Later I was just driving on the freeway and hit a small bump at 70 mph (75 mph zone), again violent shaking that did not stop until I was driving 50 mph. Since I’m leaving on cross country trip soon, I opted to take vehicle to mechanic. It is there now. This is because there is no recall on 2014 ford for this issue and I don’t have weeks available to fight with ford. have learned today that this is very common across the county and has been reported to ford motor company but the company is denying their liability to fix this very dangerous issue! My vehicle symptoms are exactly what there have been numerous complaints about. I will be sending the bill to ford.
vehicle shakes uncontrollable on the front passenger side when driving over 50 mph. took to the repair shop and was diagnosed with the death wobble. told it's unsafe to drive until repaired and repair will be over 1,600.00
Vehicle wobbles violently on highway when it hits a bump. Had several near collisions. There were no warnings, happened suddenly.
On November 26, 2024 we experienced our third incident of the death wobble. During this third incident it threw the truck into oncoming traffic. After the second incident of the death wobble, we had the steering stabilizer fixed that was November 11, 2022. There was also damage to one tire due to truck leaving road. There was no warning lights or anything else prior to the uncontrollable shaking.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed hauling a trailer, the exhaust manifold dropped raw fuel into the exhaust and it caught fire. The contact was able to extinguish the fire. The exhaust filter over maximum limit message was displayed. There were no reported injuries, crash , police report or air bag deployment. The fire department was on the scene. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that cylinder one was down and the engine and transmission needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that the EPF may be damaged and not work. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000.
Death wobble at speeds greater than 46 mph. I have to come to a complete stop to make it stop. I almost got rear ended by a semi before I could get off the interstate on the shoulder. My vehicle is a 2014 but I have experienced this several times since I bought it new. Took it to my local ford dealer to see if they can do anything to fix it. It’s really dangerous when it happens on a busy interstate. The front end sounds like it’s coming apart and steering is impossible when it happens.
I have had this truck for 7 years and bought it with 35k. It now has 150k.This week ([XXX])I finally experienced the notorious “Death Wobble” at 60 mph in Atlanta, GA with my wife & daughter in the truck. This is a very scary situation when you’re going down the road with traffic behind you at 70 plus mph and the steering wheel starts shaking violently after going over a bump on the highway. I feared that we were going to be in an accident at that time. I was defenseless at that moment and in the middle lane of a major highway. I don’t understand how long this has to continue until a recall is considered or FORD is held liable for a problem they have been aware of going back as far as the 2011 model year. I would love for you to see the dash cam footage I have , so you could see what my family and I experienced. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving over bumps in the roadway, there was a loud clanking noise coming from the vehicle and the cabin of the vehicle shifted and became unstable. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the cabin mounts and cabin mount bushings had rusted and deteriorated. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 79,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted to 1st gear. The contact stated that the RPM gauge climbed into the "RED" zone and the vehicle almost stalled. The contact stated that the shift indicator on the instrument cluster was flashing and then showed that the vehicle was in 1st gear. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 188,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a message displayed informing the contact that the vehicle was limited to 50 MPH, after which the vehicle entered LIMP Mode. The driver was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the failure persisted. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the exhaust gas recycling (EGR) system. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21M04. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 147,000.
The MyKey feature was enabled and won't turn off. I took the vehicle to the dealer and had a new key programmed. This fixed the speed regulation but the limited volume feature is still active and I can't increase volume beyond 40%. The touch screen is also not responding correctly. Depending on where I touch the screen, the area of the screen impacted is about an inch or more below where I touch. In some cases, some features can't be accessed anymore because of their location on the screen.
Gas tank/fuel line leaking. Mechanic said I have to buy entire tank.
While driving at highways speed, transmission suddenly shifted gears and slowed abruptly. It nearly caused an accident. It happened another time and was taken to dealership for service. I have since learned that other Ford vehicle have had recalls for the same issue but not my model. The existing Ford recall should be expanded to include my model.
Part Failure Motorcraft FD4615 (secondary filter on top of the engine) It is available for inspection. This occurred approximately 200 miles after installation. Failure resulted in diesel fuel saturating the entire engine compartment, firewall, and underside of the truck. Extreme fire hazard. Failure should be confirmed by mechanic today (it's pretty obvious). No other inspection performed as of yet. No warning lamps/messages/symptoms. Only sign was extreme smell of diesel in the cab. When vehicle stopped, and was inspected, there was diesel dripping from the engine compartment and underside of truck past the transmission. Was driving truck down the road when I turned off on a side road. When I did, there was an extreme smell of diesel. I stopped, and got out of the truck. There was smoke coming from under the hood, and a very substantial amount of diesel running out of the engine bay down towards the transmission. After allowing the vehicle to cool, I popped the hood. The entire engine bay was saturated. Diesel was pooled on top of the intake, as well as running down the side of the engine and firewall. Some smoke was still present. A person who stopped momentarily turned the ignition to the "on" position to see if there was an obvious leak. The center of the top of the fuel filter was spraying fuel out like a geyser, hitting the underside of the hood, and blanketing the engine.
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this RQ to investigate allegations that the scope and remedy of safety recall 13V-535 were inadequate. Recall 13V-535 was limited to a relatively small population of Ambulance Package vehicles and ODI received complaints of pickup trucks and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles being affected by the same defect. Ford manufactured approximately 555,985 subject vehicles between February 22, 2010 and January 30, 2015 that may be affected by defective EGT sensors and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software calibration. The subject vehicles are equipped with four (4) EGT sensors to monitor engine operating conditions. An EGT sensor fault may produce false exhaust over-temperature signals. If these signals are produced, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) implements a Failure Management Effects Mode (FMEM) and the driver receives a Stop Safely Now (SSN) system warning on the instrument cluster message center. The FMEM triggers a 70% reduction in available engine power over a period of no more than 45 seconds, during which it may not be possible to accelerate or maintain vehicle speed. The PCM then commands the engine to shut down when vehicle speed reaches approximately 1 mph. There is no immediate restart capability. Depending on the PCM software calibration, ignition key position and ambient temperature conditions, the engine may not restart until the end of a 10-60 minute cool down period.Ford and its component supplier(s) made numerous changes to the PCM software calibration and the design, material and manufacture of the EGT sensors over the period of subject vehicle production. This continuous product improvement affected vehicle performance regarding the alleged defect. Ford acknowledges the defect condition in the subject vehicles but argues that an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety is limited to Ambulance Package and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles where commanded shutdown could impact emergency response and patient care. Ford also argues that the defect trend is in decline. Ford also initiated a new safety recall (15V-175) to address the 13V-535 remedy concerns in the Ambulance Package vehicles and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles. The 15V-175 remedy reprograms the PCM with a new software calibration that stops a single EGT sensor fault to cause the vehicle to enter the FMEM shutdown mode.Ford also initiated an EPA emissions recall (14E03) for all subject vehicles that reprograms the PCM with the software calibration employed in safety recall 15V-175. Finally, Ford initiated a Customer Satisfaction Program (15M01) providing extended warranty coverage of 8 years or 80,000 miles for the the EGT sensors on certain MY2011-2012 subject vehicles.Due to the EPA emissions recall, that had a 66.6% completion rate in Ford's December 2015 progress report to the EPA, the defect trend is in decline. ODI is not aware of any crashes, deaths or injuries related to the alleged defect.ODI believes the alleged defect poses a safety risk but notes that the EPA emissions recall is addressing the safety problem.Compelling issuance of a duplicate recall would not represent a wise use of agency resources.Accordingly, this Recall Query is closed. This action is not a finding that no defect exists and NHTSA will take further action if such action is warranted.
