The car stalls. The power steering no longer works when the car stalls. I have been in traffic, multiple times, when the car stalled. It creates an unsafe situation because the traffic behind me has to apply the brakes or swerve around me. Long ago took the car to infiniti and they did a $300+ 3 point fuel injection clean, etc. They could not duplicate the problem and there was no code, so they said they couldn't help but the 3 point service might resolve the problem. They also told me I needed some updates, 3 I thing at $165 each!? When I asked if that would resolve the problem, they couldn't say. I see this issue on infiniti forums but no recall. This problem does not produce a code and no warning signs/lights. I really like the car but these issues don't make it fun or safe to drive. I'm hopeful to get this problem resolved. Thank you.

This Item is called the rear cross member that attach's the rear shocks, drive axle and brakes. The sway bar on the driver side has already dislodged from the vehicle therefore when you apply the brakes, the rear axle seems to be shifting because the sway bar is used to supply a stationary support to the rear drive shaft. I discovered this when braking I noticed that the vehicle dived to the right as if the rear axle had shifted. This vehicle is not safe to drive now.

In november of 2019, while driving my son to school. The passenger door locks wouldn't allow the door to open. He had to climb over my seat in order to exit the vehicle. The door has not opened since. I've called several infiniti dealers since last nov and they all have referred me to a body shop to fix the problem. All 3 body shops I've contacted had no idea how to fix the problem or how to get the door open without doing major damage to the vehicle. I ha e filed a complaint with infiniti customer relations, they told me that since the car IS out of warranty they will not help w any repair cost. I have also spoken with a design engineer from nissan about this issue. He confirmed that this IS a major safety hazard that needs addressed immediately. Upon research in the infiniti forums and other websites I notice that I am not the only one with this issue. Several people have experienced the same issue. Today I was finally able to contact a head tech at louisville infiniti. He said the only way to open this door IS to take a let bar and destroy the inside of the door in order to break the latch. This will break the window as possibly damage the internal frame structure. There IS also no guarantee of the fix nor could he estimate the cost of getting the door to even open. *tr

Cracking dashboard in multiple areas: around entertainment center, around each air vent, where knee touches dash (near steering wheel). and now I'm feeling the driver's side arm rest begin to crumble. I believe there IS an inferior product behind the fancy dash material and it IS now crumbling. Vehicle IS parked at home in garage or in shade.

Hi. My car has a sticky smelly dashboard. I contacted infiniti but I was told that my car IS not under warranty. It smells like burnt rubber and it hard to see threw the windshield. How can I get this fixed?

I was driving my car on the expressway today and my sunroof exploded. I did not experience any falling debris or other issue that would cause this to happen - the roof simply exploded. Glass went everywhere. The sound of the explosion sounded like a gunshot and I immediately pulled to the side of the highway to determine what had occurred. There was no visible damage to tires or the body so I slowly began driving on the shoulder to reach a exit near by. As I began moving I could hear the infiltration of air overhead and opened the inside door panel of the sunroof, the entire window was missing and the frame for the sunroof was mangled. The highway IS 65 mph and at that rate of speed, an unexpected explosion on the car could have led to a significant accident. Furthermore, anyone in the back would have at a minimum been covered with glass. I have contacted my insurance company and am in the process of having my car towed to a facility to have it repaired. I will be able to provide photos and insurance evidence of the event if needed.

- Power train
While driving on the highway, the gears stall on the 2ND gear and power cuts off from the engine. This has occurred 3 times on highways. Turned off the car and restarted with no engine response. Did this 2 more times and engine restored power. Engine stalling IS common with daily driving and cuts off when in 2ND gear. Infiniti dealership has attempted to reflash the transmission but nothing has been resolved.
- Power train › Transfer case (4-wheel drive) · Steering
TL* the contact owns a 2009 infinti FX35. While turning the vehicle, it vibrated and the steering made an abnormal clicking noise. This was the second time the failure occurred. The dealer diagnosed that the transfer case needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 53,000.

This vehicle randomly and suddenly has engine failure. This alone should really not be much of an issue except this advanced technology vehicle looses steering and brakes as soon as the engine quits. I have had 3 near misses with accidents as a result. The dealership IS not able to find the problem even though there IS a service bulletin out about this problem. There are no computer codes left behind to detect why the stalls are occurring. The only thing that has saved me IS that the vehicle can be started again in neutral which restores steering and breaking power. It IS a scary and unsafe vehicle at this time and no body seems to be able to find a cure. *tr

The contact had to abruptly apply the brakes and down shift in order to correct the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who inspected the vehicle and could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was notified and an investigator was sent to further inspect the vehicle. the investigator was unable to locate a failure within the vehicle. The vin was unknown. 2009 FX35 infiniti more than 80% of the time I experience electrical shocks after exiting my car touching the door to close it. I contacted an infiniti to investigate and was told they found grounds o.k. And suggested before exiting the car I should touch the inside of the door frame to discharge any electrical current especially if I were to gas up the car. I contacted infinity USA to see if they had a solution to this problem and after checking with there technical staff they said there was nothing they could do except recommend I go to another infiniti dealer and have them investigate the problem. The bottom line IS nothing was found and there was nothing further the could do.i don't like being shocked touching the exterior of my car but even a greater concern IS the potential for a fire or worse yet explosion gasing up. Just to expand a bit on the shoes I wear at the time of these shocks it doesn't seem to matter if the souls are leather or rubber, either way it happens. Please advise me. *Tr

My car started rather violently lurching when I accelerated. This was followed by an apparent electronics failure in the car. the speedometer stopped working. Turn signals stopped working. Brake light came on by itself. Air conditioning went off. Various icon lights that I did not recognize came on. When I stopped the car it would not turn off. after a while the ac came back on and I was able to turn off the car. When I came back to the car to drive again later, after a short period of time the incident started again. I called the dealer in san antonio, gunn infiniti, and they could not help me on the phone. I called their road number and they arranged to have the car towed to san antonio. They have had the car for over a week and have not figured out what has caused an apparent defect in the car's computer affecting the electronic syster. At no time did I feel that I was in danger while driving, although without a functioning turn signal and speedometer I could not have driven for long. as of monday, march 8 they still have the car and have not been able to determine the cause of the failure and have not given me an estimated time when they think they will have the car back to me. *Tr

- Steering column separation
In a January 28, 2015 letter to NHTSA, Nissan identified a safety defect in the steering column assemblies used in certain model year (MY) 2008 and 2009 Infiniti EX35, Infiniti FX35/45 and Nissan GT-R vehicles equipped with power tilt/telescope steering columns supplied by Fuji Kiko Co., Ltd (NHTSA Recall No. 15V-054…
15V-054, Nissan R1501/R1502).The recall covers a total of 16,973 vehicles, including 15,647 MY 2008 Infiniti EX35 vehicles manufactured from June 29, 2007 (SOP) to April 25, 2008; 1,100 MY 2009 Infiniti FX35/45 vehicles manufactured from October 31, 2007 (SOP) to April 16, 2008; and 226 MY 2009 Nissan GT-R vehicles manufactured from March 14, 2007 (SOP) to April 25, 2008.The affected vehicles may have been manufactured with a steering column outer tube that is out of specification (out of round), which may result in stress at the upper bearing.According to Nissan, in rare instances, the condition caused the bearing retainer to fracture creating excessive play in the steering wheel. In this condition, if excessive axial force is applied to the steering wheel, the column may separate and cause a loss of steering control.Nissan's remedy instructs dealers to replace the steering shaft on the Infiniti EX35 and FX35/45 vehicles and to replace the entire steering column assembly on the Nissan GT-R vehicles.ODI's analysis of complaint and warranty data related to the alleged defect in the subject vehicles identified a total of 5 incidents in which steering column separation appears to have occurred, including one alleging that a crash resulted.Sixteen (16) additional incidents of loose steering were identified in Nissan complaints (1) and warranty claims (15).The 5 separation incidents identified by ODI involved vehicles built from November 7, 2007 to February 5, 2008, including 3 vehicles built from February 2 to February 5, 2008.The 16 incidents of loose steering involved vehicles built from January 19, 2008 to April 3, 2008, including 9 vehicles built from February 1 to February 11, 2008.None of the incidents involved the approximately 1,800 MY 2008 EX35 vehicles that are not included in the recall, which either were not equipped with the Fuji Kiko power adjustable steering columns (the manual adjustable steering columns were made by a different supplier) or were built after April 25, 2008.This investigation is closed based on Nissan's safety recall. The VOQs associated with this investigation are: 10350255 and 10605536.

- 10192728SERVICE INFORMATION The purpose of this bulletin is to give Infiniti dealers guidelines to help determine if windshield breakage is covered under warranty or is the customer?s responsibility. Nissan North America (NNA) is not responsible for damage to glass that is a result of objects striking or scratching the glass. However, NNA is responsible for manufacturing issues such as distorted glass and cracks that are due to improper installation or damage to the glass during vehicle assembly. NNA typically does not find any type of cracks in the windshield due to stress after the dealership PDI. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192693SERVICE INFORMATION Windshield "foreign material" that is on the surface of the glass in some cases can be cleaned off with a very particular type and grade of steel wool. * Most any foreign material on the surface of the Windshield can be cleaned off by using #0000 super fine steel wool. >The #0000 grade super fine steel wool can be found in most hardware stores. Please see this bulleitn for further details.
- 10192475SERVICE INFORMATION If a customer describes lack of power or poor acceleration, perform the following checks before attempting any repair: * Check for stored DTCs. * Check if the driver is resting their left foot on the brake pedal while accelerating. Advise the customer not to rest their foot on the brake while accelerating. * Use CONSULT-III plus in Engine Data Monitor to check operation of the brake lamp circuit signal. Monitor the brake switch during the incident; it should be "OFF". Please see this bulletn for further details.
- 10192345SERVICE INFORMATION When diagnosing an applied vehicle for possible power steering gear (rack and pinion steering rack, or steering rack) leak issues, in some cases it may appear the steering rack is leaking when actually, it?s not. Use this service bulletin to help make a more accurate diagnosis of the steering rack. - Go to Power Steering Gear Inspection starting on page 2. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192320IF YOU CONFIRM: An applied vehicle has a fuel gauge that registers "empty" after the fuel tank has been filled up full. ACTION: 1. Remove the main fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter, and fuel pump assembly (fuel pump module). 2. Install two (2) new springs onto the fuel pump module. 3. Install the fuel pump module into the vehicle. - For repairs, refer to SERVICE PROCEDURE. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192294SERVICE INFORMATION Replacement Engine Control Modules (ECMs) for many newer Infiniti vehicles are now "Blank" ECMs. Blank ECMs come without software and must be programmed (not reprogrammed) before they will function. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192265SERVICE INFORMATION If one or more of these EVAP leak DTCs are stored (P0442, P0455, P0456) on a 2007 through 2011 Infiniti vehicle, a loose fuel fill cap may be the cause. Use the following resources to perform diagnostics and confirm the cause of stored DTCs. ASIST: - Appropriate Service Manual diagnostic procedures - Applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSB). Leak Test: - With CONSULT-III plus - WORK SUPPORT >> EVAP SYSTEM CLOSE. NOTE: Use Essential Tool J-42909 or equivalent to pressurize the EVAP system. - With a "Smoke" leak detection machine. Refer to the machine's Operator's Manual for proper use. Make sure the customer is informed of the proper fuel filler cap installation.
- 10192119IF YOU CONFIRM The customer reports any of the following: Engine hesitation at idle or very low speeds, and/or Engine speed drops lower than expected when decelerating or coming to a stop, and/or Engine stops running at idle or very low vehicle speeds (parking lot maneuvers), but can be restarted. NOTE: this incident may occur immediately after an oil change. ACTIONS 1. Refer to Step 2 in the Service Procedure to confirm this bulletin applies to the vehicle you are working on. 2. If this bulletin applies, reprogram the ECM. See this bulletin for further detail.

- 10149806TRANSMISSION & ENGINE AUTOMATED DATA COLLECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC REPORTING SERVICE INFORMATION To support proper diagnosis and to promote Fixed-Right-First-Time ? Infiniti may review CONSULT-III plus (CIII plus) data relating to vehicle operation and function to help with vehicle diagnosis and diagnostic validation. IMPORTANT: For transmission/engine repair or replacement, retailers are required to connect C-III plus and perform ?Diagnosis (All Systems)?. Performing C-III plus ?Diagnosis (All Systems)? is also required prior to contacting any Infiniti call center (i.e. TECH-LINE, PCC, or WCC) for diagnostic support or claim preauthorization. NOTE: For additional information regarding Automated Vehicle Data Collection, refer to IWBI/18-019. To support Automated Vehicle Data Collection, your C-III plus must have the Diagnosis result reporting function-Setting turned ON. If Diagnosis result reporting function-Setting is OFF: - It may cause dealer consideration for Audit or the Anomalous Repair Control (ARC) program, where applicable. - It may result in a repair being non-warrantable. - 10149803Infiniti USA Electronic Field Communication Subject: Takata Completion Objectives for Q3 INFINITI is continuing to ask its retailers to urgently help increase customer participation in the Takata recalls to help it achieve 100% customer recall participation for the following vehicles: ? 2001 I30 ? 2002-04 I35 ? 2003-08 FX ? 2002-03 QX4 ? 2006-10 M Sedan INFINITI expects to upload the next refreshed owner list to DBS within the next week. We will also be reassigning VINs to retailers based on information changes. We didn?t reassign any VINs in Q2 to avoid any mid-quarter objective impact. If VINs were repaired out of network, the retailer/region with the original assignment received credit for the repair. This is an extremely serious safety issue and INFINITI is taking significant and unprecedented steps to increase client recall participation but it needs retailer help to achieve its remedy goals. A separate communication will be released later this month informing regional personnel of the requirements for bonus payout in Q3 and Q2 results. The Q3 objective is based on the average number of repairs in Q2 multiplied by the number of service days in Q3 (Mon-Sat minus any holidays). Retailer engagement is critical with this effort. It is a company-wide responsibility to make it a priority to replace these dangerous airbag inflators in affected vehicles. Further, increasing recall participation represents significant gross profit opportunity for our retailers.
- 10149802Infiniti USA Electronic Field Communication Subject: Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report Lists Updated The lists for each retailer?s Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report has been updated today in DBS. We made our best effort to reassign vehicles to retailers based on the most recent owner information we received. The complexity of filtering out brokers (banks, salvage yards, and insurance companies) and reassigning VINs based on updated owner information affected over 123K records between INFINITI and Nissan, so we are unable to summarize the changes at a regional or retailer level. We suggest the retailers download their lists and have their outbound call centers compare information if necessary. If you have questions, please let us know. Additionally, we will have some enhancements coming in DBS effective November 17, 2018: Owner Data Updates (NNA side): 1. VIN, Campaign Code, and Source are the unique fields 2. Compare all fields except Remove Flag and Comments to see if there is a difference. a. If there is same VIN, Camp ID, and Source and all other fields are also the same then the record will be updated without changing Remove Flag and Comment field b. If there is same VIN, Camp ID, and Source and any other field is different, then the record will be inserted, in this case Remove Flag and Comment field will be blank as this is new record. The remove flag is being removed so the retailer will understand the information they previously flagged for removal has been updated and should be tried again before reapplying the removal flag. c. The retailer benefit of A & B above is duplicate records for the same VIN, Camp ID, and information source with the same customer contact information will no longer display in DBS on the Retailed Vehicle Open Campaign Report.
