If this occurred at a time when minimum stopping distance was required, a vehicle crash could occur without prior warning.
Dealers will replace or repair the 4-wheel/2-wheel drive switch.
Severe corrosion due to road salt at the joint of the stamped steel center section and the cast outer section can cause the sections to separate.
Separation of the rotor sections can cause loss ofbraking ability in the affected wheel. This could result in increased stoppingdistance and/or loss of vehicle control and an accident.
Replace the front brake rotors with new rotors with a corrosion protection coating. However, if replacement of brake linings are necessary, it will be done at owner's expense since brake linings are normal maintenance items.
02/01/2022 Windshield wiper fails to function unless the circuit board is replaced. GM refused to replace the board for 1992 vehicles even though that same board was recalled for 1994 and later vehicles. Simply said it was not part part of the recall so I had to buy a replacement myself. Was GM recall #98043 expanded to cover 1992 & 1993 year vehicles as well? ABS breaking ( or lack there of) is another matter. Upon entering my Blazer's VIN number into the NHTSA recall system, it revealed six recalls had been issued for 1992 Blazers. Unfortunately my VIN was not recognized other than that it was in fact a 1992 Blazer of some sort. Chevrolet simply said 1992 Chevrolet VIN numbers were not in their records. When GM/ Chevrolet fails to supply the data for my vehicle, does it have an obligation to inspect my vehicle to determine if it in fact has a problem that should have been resolved? Or has already been resolved? Or wasn't even a recalled vehicle at all? I would appreciate a reply to these questions and/or a reference to a site, providing this kind of information. Campaign Bulletins stated Dealers should confirm vehicle eligibility through GMVIS or DCS Screen 445 before beginning campaign repairs. How is this information accessed today? Really appreciate the ongoing effort to minimize avoidable accidents! .

I received a recall notice from chevrolet approx 3 weeks after my daughter's accident. they have performed testing, but said the tests are inconclusive and deny responsibility. the 4-WD test indicated no prob. But the veh. Was not in 4WD at the time of the accident. good weather and road conditions, skip marks indicate to me that the ABS did in fact failed or malfunctioned. product liability person IS very difficult to contact, but finally got back with me and told me to have the damages repaired, then they will do the recall work on the brakes. if there IS no problem with the brakes, then why would they do the recall work? I feel we are being deceived and need help resolving this with chevrolet. the recall notice clearly states there IS a problem and it may result in longer stopping distances and possibly a vehicle crash. it sure did. I thank god that my daughter was not seriously injured or killed because of their delay in getting a recall notice out on a 1992 vehicle!!!*ak
