Chevy Blazer has low milage. However, it still has several electrical issues radio at engine start goes to loudest point and car seats move backwards at awkward times which can cause an accident. Suspension very off guard, truck drifts to the sides while driving and makes an awkward sound when turning steering wheel. The complete break / steering system is off and may cause an accident if not properly take care right away. I have no money to do this big job. Please remediate.
Seatbelt randomly becomes unbuckled while I am driving.
The contact's girlfriend owns a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that fuel was leaking from the top of the fuel tank. There was an abnormal fuel odor detected. Additionally, the vehicle was slow to start. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact was concerned about the fuel odor and a possible fire. The failure mileage was unknown.
I have a 2001 blazer that keeps popping up a check engine light codes.i.e p0301,p0753,p0756,p0758. I have had these parts replaced twice in the last few months. Mechanic said it was related to the electrical system. The codes come back after driving for about 100 miles.
My hazards and brake lights don't turn on.
Just got out of my truck and came back and truck was fire.
Transmission cooler lines between the radiator and transmission are corroded and pitted. The lines are installed over the exhaust catalytic converter. There IS transmission fluid leaking from the lines, which IS dripping onto hot exhaust components and burning, creating a fire hazard. These lines appear to be stainless steel, which shouldn't be corroding. The lines should not be in such close proximity to exhaust components. When the vehicle IS not running/in motion, transmission fluid pools on the ground under the vehicle. In motion, the fluid IS being blown rearward, coating the undercarriage and exhaust.
Brake pedal soft and brake warning lamp came on ,made partial check ( it was dark already ) of brake system and one of the left front brake lines IS rusted thru and leaking checked for recall but no luck. vehicalin motion on a city street going straight.
My 2001 blazer's brake lights stopped working during a recent drive, and another driver was kind enough to point this out at a stoplight. the next day the brake lights worked again, but remained on after I shut off the engine. my mechanic was able to determine the problem was the multifunction switch on the steering column. this was a known issue (gm recall number 01073) and gm recalled a number of the same make and model of vehicles, but my blazer's vin was not included in the official recall.
2001 chevrolet blazer. consumer writes in regards to ignition switch recall issues also airbags and seat belts malfunction during accident. *smd the consumer and her son were involved in a roll over accident. As a result, her son died. *jb
TL* the contact owns a 2001 chevrolet blazer. While the vehicle was being serviced by an independent mechanic for routine maintenance, it was discovered that the brake lights failed to illuminate. The mechanic diagnosed that the multi-function switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 01v364000 (exterior lighting). The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
The driver side door striker and door latch are defective. The striker has no rust and IS not in position to latch the door tight that leaves a gap between the door and body. The door latch after opening the door remains in a closed position and need to manually lift the lock in order to shut the door. *tr
ABS and brake light continuously on and when braking the ABS will activate making braking difficult. *tr
The fuel gauge fluctuates that does not show accurate amount of fuel. The gauge goes to empty, 1/2, full, 3/4 to low. Unsure the correct amount of fuel. *tr
Both front doors strikers are broken off of the frame. no rust .no wrecks. *tr
Any time I am driving my fuel gauge goes crazy. I never know how much fuel I actually have because it constantly goes up and down. I've ran out of gas a few times because it shows I have 1/4 tank or more and then it'll just go down all the way, then shoot up 3/4 tank and so on. when I'm coming to a stop, especially in small downhills, my brake pedal starts vibrating and barely slows down. I get nervous all the time because I'm afraid my car will not stop. it also does this if I'm starting to brake, and one of the wheels hits a small bump in the road, then it's almost impossible to brake normally because the brake pedal starts vibrating, the ABS brakes light comes on, and my car will not slow down which IS very scary especially if I have my 3 year old in the car. *tr
About once a few weeks, my ABS will activate when it IS not supposed to. I will be trying to make a normal stop, sometimes an abnormally slow stop and the brake pedal will vibrate and depress but the vehicle won't stop the way it's supposed to. at that point, I usually jam the brakes down and pray. sometimes when I have enough stopping distance, I will pump the brakes and it goes back to normal. when are you force gm to do a recall? I read the blogs about this problem today, and this a frequent problem with this make and model. *tr
Fuel gauge fluctuates between empty and 1/3 full without warning. This happens in park and when driving. You never know how much gas you have. I have seen it drop form 1/4 full to completely empty in seconds. I have run out of gas on way to work when gas gauge said 1/4 full when I started off to work, only a couple of miles away. I have told local chevy dealer ( h & h ) about problem when having service but they said that was not a problem, was probably because you were on a slope. This has been an ongoing problem since I originally purchased SUV new. *tr
Brake/abs lights come on the dash, no ABS brakes at all, so now what ??? *tr

Fuel lines rusted and leaking above fuel tank. Leaking fuel lines tank area replaced both ruel lines rear of truck by chevrolet dealership at a cost of $802.69. *tr
TL* the contact owns a 2001 chevrolet blazer. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the contact crashed into the side of another vehicle. TL* the contact owns a 2001 chevrolet blazer. The contact stated that while stopped at a light, another motorist informed him that the brake lights were not illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer to be repaired under the recall associated with nhtsa campaign ID number 08v231000 (exterior lighting:brake lights:switch). After the repairs, the failure occurred a second time. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for diagnostics and repair. The contact was not aware of the repairs that were performed, but believed the hazard switch carrier was replaced. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
Fuel gauge jumps from full to empty all the time regardless how much fuel IS in the tank - making the gauge useless for displaying the amount of gas in the tank (same thing happens on wife's 2002 blazer). *tr
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
On november 30, 2001, general motors (gm) conducted safety recall 01v-364 for the subject vehicles built between september 16, 1999 and august 28, 2001 to remedy a defective hazard switch that would cause a loss of hazard and stop lamp illumination.the hazard switch IS contained within the vehicle multifunction switch.odi opened this investigation based on reports that some consumers were not notified of the original recall or that they had repairs done under 01v-364 but experienced subsequent multifunction switch failures.the multifunction switch supports the operation of cruise control, windshield wipers, exterior lighting and turn signals in addition to hazard and stop lamps. On may 21, 2008, gm notified the agency that it erroneously missed identifying 5,862 vehicles that should have been included in recall 01v-364.gm will now notify owners of these vehicles under a new nhtsa recall number 08v-231.owner notification began on june 17.the primary cause of brake lamp failure was a design change from copper to brass contact material in the hazard switch.this change was effective for vehicles built after september 16, 1999.gm changed the material back to copper for vehicles built after august 28, 2001. The remedy part for both 01v-364 and 08v-231 contains copper contacts.gm's data shows that less than 1% of vehicles repaired under recall 01v-364 required additional subsequent repair or replacement of the hazard or multifunction switch.this investigation IS closed.
