Risk
Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N212329050.

The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing bolts.
Risk and remedy
Risk
Missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission oil leak and may progress to a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the start-stop transmission accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, free of charge. The recall began December 15, 2020. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick Customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. 2020 Chevy Blazer LT 3.6 L V6 I'm filing this complaint regarding multiple concerning mechanical and safety related issues with my 2020 Chevy Blazer LT that I purchased brand new and currently have 54,224 miles . Without warning, My vehicle developed several problems simultaneously. The check engine light came on, The engine cooling fan started running continuously at high speed, the AC stopped blowing cold air and is warm air, the steering assist reduced came on and my chevy app notified me that I have an engine cooling system malfunction and to service now. It's showing a P0128 code when I had it checked. After doing some research, I discovered GM issued a thermostat special coverage program for certain vehicles 2021-and newer models. Mine isn't part of it because of the year and isn't covered by the power train warranty for the same reason even though they all have the same engine. I only have 54,000 miles! I'm very concerned over the steering assist being reduced! What if the steering goes out while I'm driving? I have my grandchildren all the time. I need my car! There are several other complaints on here for the same vehicle and the same problem! Why isn't the 2020 Blazer covered under this special coverage program? The dealerships all say it's a well known problem! I believe this issue deserves investigation !

My 2020 Chevrolet Blazer experienced severe mechanical problems, including stuttering, loss of power, and the engine shutting off unexpectedly while I was driving. The vehicle subsequently would not operate normally. On February 25, 2026, Rick Hendrick Chevrolet Duluth performed a diagnostic inspection and recommended nearly $20,000 in repairs, including transmission-related repairs. However, the dealership did not identify or disclose any alternator fire damage or related electrical safety concerns. In October 2026, an independent mechanic discovered significant burn damage on the alternator. The damage was visible externally, and further inspection of the alternator’s interior revealed additional evidence of burning. I believe this condition may have contributed to the vehicle’s sudden loss of power and shutdown. This presents a serious safety concern because an unexpected engine shutdown while driving can increase the risk of a collision, and an electrical failure involving burning components may present a fire hazard. The vehicle has not been driven since the dealership’s inspection. The damaged alternator has been preserved, and photographs were taken documenting its condition. The component is available for further inspection upon request. I am requesting an investigation into this alternator failure and the associated vehicle safety risks.

The thermostat is malfunctioning along with engine temperature coolant sensor. This causes the temperature gauge on the dashboard to be completely disabled and not moving off cold, it disables the air conditioner, makes the engine cooling fan to run extremely high nonstop, and places the vehicle into an unpredictable limp mode or fail safe mode. This was identified as faulty by GM and they have issued a special service bulletin that they will repair it up to a 150,000 miles or 15 years or reimburse customers up to $1200 on 2021 models. The 2020 models use the same engine and parts but they refuse to include them which is an unfair exclusion since they admitted to a faulty part. 2020 should be included with the same 150,000 miles and 15 year coverage or reimbursement.

The radiator and thermostat on my 2020 Blazer had to be replaced at less than 35,000 miles. It was out of warranty and the Chevy dealer charged me $3,500 to replace them. Internet sources state that this is a common problem with this car. I complained to Chevy corporate and they refunded $1,000. I do not feel this was a fair settlement due to the fact that it is a common problem.

This happened back in May and the dealership couldn’t find anything wrong and it happened again today. I am driving and the car will shut off. A message pops up saying shift to neutral and press start again. It’s very dangerous and frustrating.

Additionally, while operating the vehicle, the engine temperature rose to HOT. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and the thermostat was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 119,000.

Vehicle: 2020 Chevrolet Blazer V6 System: Electronic Transmission Range Select (ETRS) – Gear Shifter / Park Engagement Concern Type: Potential Unintended Vehicle Motion / Failure to Confirm Park State Description of the Issue On the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer V6, the Electronic Transmission Range Select (ETRS) system fails to confirm that the transmission is in Park, even when the physical gear shifter lever is placed in the Park position. As a result The dashboard displays a "SHIFT TO PARK" warning message in the Driver Information Center (DIC). The vehicle continues to beep after the ignition is turned off. The vehicle does not fully power down, remaining in accessory/ON mode because the ETRS system has not received a valid Park confirmation signal from the shifter position sensor. This issue presents a potential Unintended Vehicle Motion (UVM) hazard for the following reasons: 1. Vehicle May Not Be Secured in Park The "SHIFT TO PARK" message indicates the ETRS system does not confirm the transmission is in the Park state. If the park pawl has not fully engaged — even though the shifter appears to be in Park — the vehicle is not mechanically secured. On any inclined surface, this creates a risk of the vehicle rolling away, potentially injuring the driver, bystanders, or causing property damage. 2. Driver May Exit Vehicle Believing It Is Secured The persistent beeping and DIC warning are intended to alert the driver that the vehicle is not in Park. However, customers may not understand the warning, may dismiss it, or may exit the vehicle assuming the shifter position is sufficient. This is a known human factors risk — the driver's perception of being in Park does not match the system's inability to confirm Park engagement. Vehicle Cannot Be Powered Off Normally: When the system cannot confirm Park, the vehicle remains in an active power state. This means the vehicle's propulsion system is not fully disabled, increasing the risk of unintended movement if the driver exit

The car is not sensing that it is in park when it is. When I place it in park and turn the car off it dings and says shift into park however it already is in park. Therefore the car will not turn off. I had to jiggle the shift or turn the car on, reverse then go forward then park to get it to register. This has taken up to 10 minutes and it’s getting worse. This is a known issue that is referenced in GM Technical Service Bulletin 19-NA-206.

I was driving and steering reduced drive with caution notification and brake assist notification came on and then engine light and the temp gage went to cold and stayed there. My steering stiffened up making it hard to steer. This is a known problem with the Chevy blazers and it had to do with the thermostat needing replaced.

At the same time, the air conditioning stopped functioning properly and the vehicle began displaying a warning message indicating that steering assist is unavailable or reduced. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates a safety concern because the steering assist warning indicates a potential reduction or loss of power steering assistance, which could increase steering effort and make the vehicle more difficult to control, particularly during low-speed maneuvers or emergency situations. The warning appears during normal vehicle operation and can distract the driver. The ongoing failure of multiple vehicle systems raises concerns about the safe and reliable operation of the vehicle. The problem has been present continuously since first appearing at approximately 40,000 miles and is fully reproducible. The condition occurs every time the vehicle is driven and has not corrected itself. I am submitting this complaint regarding the transmission in my 2020 Chevrolet Blazer. My vehicle has fewer than 100,000 miles and has experienced significant transmission failure symptoms, including hard shifting, jerking during acceleration, RPM fluctuations, slipping, loss of normal power, and inability to safely reach highway speeds. The vehicle struggles to accelerate properly and at times will not shift correctly into higher gears. Diagnostic trouble codes related to transmission operation have been present, including pressure control solenoid and transmission control faults. Repairs have already been attempted, including replacement of transmission-related components, but the transmission continues to malfunction. Through online owner groups, forums, and discussions with other Chevrolet Blazer owners, I have found numerous reports from owners experiencing similar transmission problems in 2019-2022 Chevrolet Blazers. Many owners report transmission slipping, harsh shifting, torque converter issues, valve body failures, pressure control solenoid failures, and complete transmission replacement at relatively low mileage. These failures create a serious safety concern because the vehicle may hesitate, lose power, fail to accelerate properly when entering traffic, or be unable to maintain safe highway speeds. Drivers and passengers are placed at risk when a vehicle cannot respond normally during merging, passing, or other traffic situations. Owners are frequently being quoted between $7,000 and $12,000 for transmission replacement or repair despite the vehicles being relatively new and often having less than 100,000 miles. Additionally, the contact stated that the infotainment system intermittently displayed a blank or distorted screen, became frozen and was unresponsive to the touch commands. These complaints are widely discussed across online forums, social media, and owner groups. General Motors appears to be aware of this recurring issue, yet many owners continue to experience failures within and outside of warranty coverage. The coolant smell is concerning because it may indicate a leak within the cooling system, which could lead to overheating, engine damage, loss of vehicle reliability, and potential safety risks while driving. Owners should not be experiencing major cooling system failures on relatively modern vehicles. Engine temp gauge stops working causing the air to stop working and the cooling fan to rev to highest rpm. Also a warning that the steering assist is reduced. Eng check light comes on with a code P0208. This a known problem with an extended service # (N242484760) but only if your vin is listed. All vehicles with this problem should be covered. This seem to be a common problem, as my co-worker is having the same issue. This should be a recall as the steering is affected.
