  Dealers will replace the hazard switch carrier. owner notification will be conducted in two phases. the first phase began april 15, 2002, with mailings to owners of 2000 and early 2001 vehicles. the second mailing phase will be to remaining 2001 and 2002 vehicles. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020, GMC at 1-800-462-8782, or oldsmobile at 1-800-442-6537.

  Fuel sensor problem that's been going on with a lot of 2000 chevy blazer also trail blazers and also the distributor there IS no seal under the distributor cap cause it to have moisture and cause it not to run and you have to replace it this IS to the company or whoever's in charge now the fuel system itself IS called a spider sense or what I call it not to run it all the time they must be some type of filter besides the one on side of the vehicle itself because they go out within a year or maybe two years or so this must be addressed so hopefully I get some information to help fix the vehicle that I don't think you I hope I could get some information about it because the fule sensor IS a big deal wen they last for about a year and then to buy one for about 400 dollars and then pay another 1000 dollars for labor I think that the injection for the fule sensor should be addressed hopefully have a re call thank you for taking the time to read this and hope you can help god bless

I asked my customer if the involved vehicle (2000 chevrolet blazer) had any dealer or after market accessories installed, customer adamantly replied: no, "bone stock gm." my customer was not aware that the involved vehicle had a theft deterrent system, manufactured by "karr" and distributed by audiovox with installers nationwide. I have been actively involved with gm dealerships for over forty years and possess a wealth of experience in parts and service experience. I removed the suspect security system and repaired the damaged wiring which resulted in the improper installation. In the past week I have been confronted with four customer complaints which resulted from security systems, aftermarket radios and including aftermarket headlamps. These aftermarket components are the direct cause of system failures involving engine management systems, lights, and numerous electrical failures. I sincerely request immediate and thorough investigation which I remain confident will result in massive recalls of these inferior products. *tr

I have searched on google and their are many people having this same issue. I have taken it to 3 different shops and no one can figure it out I am very frustrated. Their IS code that shows up when tested. The car has broke down many times with my daughter in it. I never know if I turn the car off if it will start back up. at times in the morning it wont start at all and my daughter IS late to school due to the car not starting and having to find her a ride. For the past 4 days the car will not start at all. Their IS no power getting to the fuel pump. I am so frustrated!! *js

  On november 30, 2001, general motors (gm) conducted safety recall 01v-364 for the subject vehicles built between september 16, 1999 and august 28, 2001 to remedy a defective hazard switch that would cause a loss of hazard and stop lamp illumination.the hazard switch IS contained within the vehicle multifunction switch.odi opened this investigation based on reports that some consumers were not notified of the original recall or that they had repairs done under 01v-364 but experienced subsequent multifunction switch failures.the multifunction switch supports the operation of cruise control, windshield wipers, exterior lighting and turn signals in addition to hazard and stop lamps. On may 21, 2008, gm notified the agency that it erroneously missed identifying 5,862 vehicles that should have been included in recall 01v-364.gm will now notify owners of these vehicles under a new nhtsa recall number 08v-231.owner notification began on june 17.the primary cause of brake lamp failure was a design change from copper to brass contact material in the hazard switch.this change was effective for vehicles built after september 16, 1999.gm changed the material back to copper for vehicles built after august 28, 2001. The remedy part for both 01v-364 and 08v-231 contains copper contacts.gm's data shows that less than 1% of vehicles repaired under recall 01v-364 required additional subsequent repair or replacement of the hazard or multifunction switch.this investigation IS closed.
