open recall for paint peeling on the gas tank, could cause a fire. No Ford dealers in my area can take care of the problem.: I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a Ford dealership’s failure to properly support and address a safety recall on my vehicle. As you know, safety recalls are issued to protect consumers and ensure that potentially dangerous vehicle defects are corrected promptly and at no cost to the vehicle owner. When a dealership fails or refuses to properly handle a recall repair, it raises serious safety and compliance concerns. Despite bringing my vehicle to the dealership regarding the recall, the issue has not been properly addressed. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and that appropriate action be taken to ensure the recall repair is handled in accordance with federal safety requirements. For reference, my vehicle information is as follows: Vehicle Make/Model: Ford VIN: [XXX] ___________Recall Number (if known): ___gas tank peeling______________Dealership Name & Location: ____5 dealerships in my area_____________ Date of Visit: __called all dealers so did ford customer support_________________ I respectfully request assistance in ensuring that the recall repair is completed properly and without further delay. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

On August 2, 2024 I was driving my 2022 Ford F-350 7.3L on the interstate when I experienced sudden loss of power, engine was sputtering, obviously not getting fuel in my opinion. Engine eventually quit, and I came to rest on the side of I 20/59. No check engine light or other warning lights were ever illuminated during this episode. After 10-15 minutes of attempting to start, the engine finally restarted and I continued approx. 50 miles to my home with no further issues. On Aug. 14, I took my F-350 to Town and Country Ford in Bessemer, AL. Their Service Dept ran several diagnostics, tested fuel pressure, ethanol content, checked for misfire issues and road tested. No problems were found. Odometer at the time was 26,183. In July 2025 I received a Recall Notice from Ford (NHTSA Recall 25V455) for possible loss of fuel pressure due to fuel pump failure. Today (December 8, 2025) I attempted to contact Ford to get an update on the Recall, was provided no updated information (automated system only, live person was not an option). Also contacted Town and Country Ford Service Dept. for any knowledge they may have, which was none as well. I do not drive the truck every day, primarily due to not wishing to get stranded far from a repair facility (current odometer 38,000). I am filing this complaint to hopefully expedite Ford's response to a problem they have been aware of for over a year if not longer, and certainly since July 2025. The absence of any updates is infuriating for an issue that could become catastrophic.

Received a notice on a "Customer Satisfaction Program 24N03" Instead of issuing a recall for the Hydroboost power steering pressure and jumper lines they instead extended the warranty. People have had their braking and power steering go out while driving and this is simply unsafe and unacceptable. They need to replace their faulty "quick connector" to a hard connector before people are injured. My dealership refuses to do this as it is not a recall. Thank you for your consideration

Hello, when I start my vehicle and leave it in park and idle the transmission makes a mechanical clicking noise. I went under the truck to try to find the source of the noise. When I was underneath I found that when the clicking noise is active the drive line coming out the rear of the transmission is trying to turn. It is rocking back and forth. This is what the clicking noise is. I tried it with the vehicle in Neutral also. Same result. The transmission is sending power to the driveline while in park and neutral. I have a video I can submit but this form won’t let me include a video. If you response to me through email I will attach it there

During early morning hours (approx. 2 am) of 10/09/22, while traveling westbound on I-70 through Utah at posted speed (80 mph) I hit a series of road repairs (patches) while in the right-hand lane, with the driver-side (left) front wheel. The front end of the vehicle shook violently, leaving limited control of steering which resulted in the vehicle drifting quickly into the passing (left hand) lane. Fortunately, no one was in the passing lane and control was regained, but only after rapid deceleration through hard braking. The incident was freighting to say the very least, and has resulted in driver distress when traveling over bridges with expansion joints, experiencing changes to road surfaces, and/or anticipating poor road surfaces. Driver anxiety is a direct result of this incident. The vehicle is a new Ford F-350 diesel 4WD with fewer than 2000 total miles at the time the incident took place. An internet search suggests a probable cause associated with a “death wobble”? But on a brand new vehicle? Makes no sense and is very concerning as apparently Ford has been aware of this problem for years? Ford customer service department was contacted (10/10/22) via phone, and a case number [XXX] provided. The Ford dealership through which the vehicle was purchased (Keller Ford in Hanford, CA) was contacted per the recommendation of the Ford customer service representative and the vehicle is scheduled to be left with the Keller Ford service department on 10/12/22. Why isn’t Ford required to notify owners of this phenomenon so that at a minimum operators are aware of the potential problem and are at least prepared for its occurrence? I have owned many Ford vehicles in the 45+ years I have driven, starting with a 1956 Ford F-100 I purchased in 1978. I general, I am happy with Ford products. But in this instance (my first purchase of a new vehicle) I am not. This problem needs to be fixed immediately! Without warning my brakes and steering failed on a Freedom Elite RV on a Ford Motor chassis. The vehicle only had 2396 miles on it at the time of occurrence. It turned out to be a pressure hose that broke. Luckily I was in a residential neighborhood with no traffic and driving very slowly when it happened. I shudder to think what would have happened on a hill or in traffic.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) received a petition on June 13, 2026, requesting an investigation into camshaft and lifter failures in Ford 7.3L gasoline engines used in 2021-2022 Ford E-350 and 2021 Ford F59 and F-750 vehicles. The Petitioner alleges that insufficient oil lubrication at low idle (~6 psi) causes severe wear on lifter rollers and camshaft lobes, leading to catastrophic engine failure and sudden loss of motive power while driving at highway speeds with little to no warning. The petition further alleges that Ford Motor Company was aware of the root cause and released a software calibration patch raising idle speed to ~1,000 RPM, but failed to initiate a public safety recall or notify vehicle owners. The petition itself can be reviewed at NHTSA.gov under ODI number 11764421. This defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and determine whether to grant or deny the petition.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened Recall Query (RQ) 24003 on February 27, 2024, to evaluate the scope and remedy effectiveness of NHTSA recall 24V097. On February 16, 2022, Ford Motor Company (Ford) issued a safety recall, NHTSA recall 22V089, for certain 2021-2022 Ford E-350 and E-450 vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels. According to the filing, specific hydraulic lines could leak resulting in a sudden loss of power steering and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash. The remedy involved a dealer inspection of the lines and their replacement as necessary. Only vehicles that failed the inspection received updated parts. On February 9, 2024, Ford issued a new recall, NHTSA recall 24V097, to replace the specific hydraulic lines on any vehicle that had not yet been inspected and on any vehicle which had passed inspection within the previous twelve months. However, vehicles which had passed the inspection more than twelve months ago would not be included within the scope of the new recall, as Ford deemed them to have a low likelihood of failure. ODI opened this RQ to better understand Ford's scoping of recall 24V097, specifically concerning the inspected-only vehicles not included in the new recall filing. ODI sent Ford an information request letter on April 18, 2024. Ford responded, in full, on May 31, 2024. ODI reviewed Ford's data which showed that the vehicles not included in the new recall had a predicted failure rate of less than 0.25% within 10 years from the date of inspection. By comparison, the vehicles included in the new filing have had a failure rate of approximately 2% prior to being recalled again. ODI analysis of complaint and warranty data further supports Ford's assessment that vehicles that passed inspection more than twelve months prior to recall 24V097 are unlikely to experience the defect condition. ODI is closing this RQ without a manufacturer action. The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that a safety-related defect does not exist. The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the ODI reports cited in the Opening Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.

Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.
- 10210850Some 2021 and 2022 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may experience a tire sidewall wavy/indentation appearance in the radial direction on one or both sidewalls. Sidewall wavy/indentation appearance is a common cosmetic characteristic of radial tire construction and will not affect the performance of the tire.
- 10209030Some 2022 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may need to perform A/C leak detection diagnostics. The 2022 Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 412-00 for A/C leak detection diagnosis is incomplete and is in the process of being updated. At this time, Pinpoint Test AN of Section 412-00 in the 2022 F-150 WSM can be used temporarily for the service procedure and specifications. Use the correct vehicle specific removal and replacement sections as needed. A new labor operation 19700A45 has also been released to align with the new procedure.
- 10194412Some 2021 F-Super Duty and 2021-2022 E-Series vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 7.3L gasoline engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0457 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to a loose fuel filler cap. The fuel filler cap design has changed, requiring multiple turns to seal properly. Advise the customer to turn the fuel filler cap clockwise until there is at least one audible click to seal properly. For further diagnostics, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual, pinpoint test HX.

This may be due to a loose fuel filler cap. The fuel filler cap design changed for 2021 to require three full turns to properly tighten. Advise the customer of the design change. For further diagnostics, refer to the Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual, pinpoint test HX.
- 10189583Some 2021-2022 E-Series vehicles built on or before 09-Mar-2021 may exhibit a Service Advance Trac and Pre-Collision Assist Not Available message in the cluster with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0051 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. Cruise control may also be inoperable. To correct the condition, reprogram the ABS module using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part number 2C215 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
