I have been getting grinding noises from my transmission since the fall of 2016. Took the car into the georgesville nissan shop in columbus, oh where they stated they can't recreate the noise or hear it even though the noise IS noticeable when the car starts to move after sitting still for at least half an hour. It sounds as if someone isn't pushing on the clutch before changing gears, the problem IS though this IS an automatic transmission. I have gone to the shop a few times where I've been given the same thing, they can't recreate it. My car was under warranty at the time and now it's not. I feel as though this was them trying to not replace my transmission under warranty. The car was around 90K miles when the problem started and I've been there two or three times. Now my car IS at 123K miles and I am no longer covered by the warranty. I am currently at work and can not upload my receipts from my visit but will send pictures when need be. I'm sure I have a video I recorded of the noise to, if not, I have a dashcam that I'm sure has recorded the sound many times over.

My vehicles transmission warranty ended at 120,000 miles. my vehicle has about 145,500 miles. I've read online these vehicles with cvt transmission have issues with repair code p0744. They have a service bulletin for older vehicles except mine to replace transmission valve body assembly. I called nissan consumer affairs and was told they cannot help because warranty expired and vehicle IS old. All I'm asking for them to cover most of the repairs or all of it. In this case vehicle car was being driven. Vehicles rpm fluctuated? Jerked and lost speed, then speed would increase. Repairs IS going to cost me over $1200.00.

My car was stationary. I had just drove through a parking lot and stopped to make a left hand turn across two lanes of traffic. Once traffic cleared I accelerated through the first lane but my car would not go faster. My foot was all the way down on the accelerator. At a few seconds and near miss collision my car decided to finally go. It felt like it stalled and I had no control. This only happens in the summer and all I can think of IS that the car IS getting to hot.

I have gone through 5 batteries in 6 years one blew up under my hood. I changed the positive battery cable assembly after that happened. it hasn't helped in keeping batteries for more than a year in this car. I have had the system checked everything comes back normal. I can charge anything in my car while the car IS off and no key in the ignition. I would think that there would be something wrong with that. My doors lock/unlock inconstantly when using my fob to perform either function. I have to do it manually. The gas tube has pulled away and IS unstable. My vehicle has shut off too many times to count unexpectedly while in motion and stationary. It happened in a supermarket parking lot, on an on ramp to get on a freeway, in the middle of a street. Aaa knows me well. this has been going on for years I have written about it before on another website, but this IS the first time I have seen this website.

This IS a 2009 nissan sentra purchased new from reed nissan in 2009. in january 2016 the horn failed completely. for some time before that the horn was working only intermittently, and for approximately 6 months before that the car would make a clacking sound when turning. on january 28, 2016 we brought it in to reed nissan to investigate. the technician diagnosed the condition as "technician finds that the steering column assembly IS faulty causing noise and binding." we were concerned that since this IS an electronic column not replacing it might lead to steering failure, and the lack of a horn made the car unsafe. reed nissan indicated the entire steering column had to be replaced. the cost of this service was: parts$1,956.48 labor$ 289.88 freight $ 80.00(to replace steering column).

See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192727SERVICE INFORMATION The purpose of this bulletin is to give Nissan dealers guidelines to help determine if windshield breakage is covered under warranty or is the customer?s responsibility. Nissan North America (NNA) is not responsible for damage to glass that is a result of objects striking or scratching the glass. However, NNA is responsible for manufacturing issues such as distorted glass and cracks that are due to improper installation or damage to the glass during vehicle assembly. NNA typically does not find any type of cracks in the windshield due to stress after the dealership PDI. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192677SERVICE INFORMATION Windshield "foreign material" that is on the surface of the glass in some cases can be cleaned off with a very particular type and grade of steel wool. * Most any foreign material on the surface of the Windshield can be cleaned off by using #0000 super fine steel wool. >The #0000 grade super fine steel wool can be found in most hardware stores. Please see this bulletin for further details.
- 10192638SERVICE INFORMATION This bulletin has compiled Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) and Low Tire Pressure Warning System (LTPWS) information for: - Basic diagnosing of TPMS/LTPWS systems - Radio frequency interference causing a "No Data" (C1708, C1709, C1710, C1711) condition - Sensor leaks - Moving TPMS/LTPWS wheel assemblies from one vehicle to another and TPMS/LTPWS sensor registration - Air pressure changes with altitude and ambient temperatures - Aftermarket tire sealers - Aftermarket wheels - Inflating/deflating tires with TPMS/LTPWS sensors See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192615SERVICE INFORMATION The information in this bulletin is provided to help ensure correct diagnosis and repair of fluid leaks. All fluid leaks, when properly diagnosed, should be repaired (whether under warranty or customer pay) to ensure proper vehicle operation. However, certain normal operating conditions can be misdiagnosed as a leak requiring repair. Unnecessary repair or replacement of parts in connection with incorrectly diagnosed "leaks" can negatively impact customer satisfaction, be time consuming and costly, and if not performed correctly can lead to future repairs. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192604IF YOU CONFIRM: The vehicle speed is, or was, reduced by the CVT fail-safe (reduced vehicle speed) after continuous operation under the following conditions: * High RPM and/or high speed driving (4000 RPM or more, and/or 65 MPH or more for 1.0 - 1.5 hrs or more) * Driving in ambient temperature of 96 degrees or higher * Climbing steep or extended hills for 6 miles or more * Whine or rattle type noise occurring during reduced engine performance (vehicle speed decrease) NOTE: Before applying this bulletin if the vehicle has any DTCs, they should be checked and repaired first. ACTION: Install SERVICE KIT-COOLER ASSY. See this bulletin for further details.
- 10192597SERVICE INFORMATION When servicing run flat tires or low profile tires: - Special equipment and procedures are required to avoid damage. - Specifically, Tire Pressure Monitor transmitters (TPMS sensors) can be damaged when improperly dismounting and mounting tires. - TPMS sensors becoming damaged during mounting or dismounting tires are not covered under warranty. - To avoid such damage, ensure that the tire changer being used and the operator of the tire changer is capable of servicing run flat and low profile tires. - Operator?s manuals for such tire changers must be followed. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192591SERVICE INFORMATION After ECM reprogramming, the Calibration Verification Number (CVN) needs to be automatically calculated prior to State emissions testing (also known as Inspection Maintainence, I/M, or SMOG testing depending upon location). Allowing the vehicle to idle for 22 minutes will allow for faster CVN calculation. It is recommended that customers utilize this method if the vehicle needs to be tested for emissions soon after ECM reprogramming. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192532SERVICE INFORMATION NOTE - Failure to follow the procedures in this bulletin may result in the denial of a warranty claim. In an effort to protect the paint finish, Paint Guard Film (PGF) is applied on many new Nissan vehicles. Paint Guard Film is a temporary white plastic protective film that is applied by the factory to the horizontal painted surfaces of the vehicle. The PGF protects the paint finish during vehicle handling, transportation and storage from harmful elements such as acid rain, iron particles, bird droppings, tree sap and other environmental contaminants. NOTE - Paint Guard Film CANNOT remain on the vehicle for more than six months after the vehicle's manufacture date. PGF must be removed at the end of six months. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192513SERVICE INFORMATION Changes or modifications to the front seat assembly trim materials may affect the proper operation of the Front Seat-Mounted Side-Impact Supplemental Air Bags and Passenger Occupant Classification Sensor and could result in serious personal injury or death. Nissan STRONGLY RECOMMENDS AGAINST making any change to seat trim materials from the factory equipped condition. This specifically applies to replacing the seat trim with non-factory materials; adding leather/cloth seat covers, seat pads, or seat storage pouches, etc. around or over the seat back and the passenger seat cushion. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192474SERVICE INFORMATION If a customer describes lack of power or poor acceleration, perform the following checks before attempting any repair: * Check for stored DTCs. * Check if the driver is resting their left foot on the brake pedal while accelerating. Advise the customer not to rest their foot on the brake while accelerating. * Use CONSULT-III plus in Engine Data Monitor to check operation of the brake lamp circuit signal. Monitor the brake switch during the incident; it should be "OFF". Please see this bulletn for further details.
- 10192394SERVICE INFORMATION Related to communication codes U1000, U1001, U1002, U1010: - Always diagnose the communication codes first. - When a module reports a U1000 code, it is typically operating normally; however, there is a communication error external to that module on the CAN network. - U1000 indicates an error. V-CAN diagram or CAN Diag Support Monitor provides data to determine the location of the error. See this bulletin for more information.
- 10192305SERVICE INFORMATION Information necessary to service the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) safely is included in the "RESTRAINTS" section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for each vehicle. IMPORTANT: Turn the ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery terminals, and wait at least 3 minutes before performing any service on the SRS. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192293SERVICE INFORMATION Replacement Engine Control Modules (ECMs) for many newer Nissan vehicles are now "Blank" ECMs. Blank ECMs come without software and must be programmed (not reprogrammed) before they will function. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192266SERVICE INFORMATION If one or more of these EVAP leak DTCs are stored (P0442, P0455, P0456) on a 2007 through 2011 Nissan vehicle, a loose fuel fill cap may be the cause. Use the following resources to perform diagnostics and confirm the cause of stored DTCs. ASIST: - Appropriate Service Manual diagnostic procedures - Applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSB). Leak Test: - With CONSULT-III plus - WORK SUPPORT >> EVAP SYSTEM CLOSE. NOTE: Use Essential Tool J-42909 or equivalent to pressurize the EVAP system. - With a "Smoke" leak detection machine. Refer to the machine's Operator's Manual for proper use. Make sure the customer is informed of the proper fuel filler cap installation.
- 10192233Nissan Original Equipment or Genuine Accessory Alloy wheels, along with their finish coating (clear, chrome, titanium, etc.), are specifically developed to achieve Nissan design and performance standards. These Original Equipment or Genuine Accessory wheels are subjected to testing to ensure they meet Nissan's standards. Nissan Original Equipment Alloy or Genuine Accessory wheels subjected to aftermarket chroming may no longer continue to meet these standards and may be seriously damaged. Therefore, Nissan most strongly discourages, and recommends that these wheels NEVER be subjected to, aftermarket chroming. See this bulletinfor further detail.
- 10192231SERVICE INFORMATION This TSB is for troubleshooting of CAN Modules with "Diag-On-CAN" Diagnostics. The flow charts below are meant to troubleshoot current CAN DTCs. The flow charts are intended to diagnose one module at a time; repeat the process as needed for additional control units. Please see this bulleitn for further details.
