Issue with the oxygen sensor. there IS a known issue with the knock sensor sending wrong information to the ecu causing the engine to adjust timing. I've gone through 3 catalytic converters due to this issue. nissan says they're unaware of the problem and know of no fix. going through forums, it appears the only way to stop engine from over compensating the timing IS to isolate the knock sensor from the engine with a rubber o ring. I have done the repair, but can only use premium fuel or risk catastrophic engine failure. it only appears to happen to the 2007 to 2012 se-r spec-v (manual transmission). I have replaced all wiring harnesses, ecu, sensors and everything else associated with the fuel system. it tends to happen after a few minutes of turning car on. goes away sometimes and reappears suddenly. Engine bucks and converter turns bright red. has been happening since I bought the car in 2018 and IS recorded online forums as far back as 2008. one example: https://www.nissanclub.com/threads/2010-sentra-ser-spec-v-bogging.335872/

My 2010 nissan sentra (was stationary each time) failed to start so I replaced the battery and it began starting for a week.then one morning it failed to start again. I cleaned both the cable ends on the battery and each post. I was able to get the car started and lasted a few days and the same problems arises again. This time the engine would turn over but would not start. Put a code machine on the car and received a code for camshaft position sensor or the crankshaft position sensor. I have discovered there was a recall for the positive battery cable that would cause the car to not get good connection and create failure for the engine control module. I entered my vin number but the nhtsa system IS not responding. Could please respond to see if my vehicle IS on the recall list?

TL* the contact owns a 2010 nissan sentra. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, and slowing to make a turn, the car was still in motion when the engine completely turned off, and put the car in park before it would restart. The contact shifted the gear shifter to park and restarted the vehicle. A few days after the issue mentioned above, the car started for a brief second, then would not restart and nissan found the issue to be the ecm that was damaged by the positive battery terminal. This also made sense as to why we have always had to buy new batteries every 1-2 years, which caused issues when trying to start the car multiple times.the vehicle was taken to gainesville nissan located at (3915 n main st, gainesville, fl 32609) where the vehicle was diagnosed with an ecm failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was referred to the nhtsa for assistance. The failure mileage was 110,668. *Ln*jb

- 10192840SERVICE INFORMATION Temporary tire Flat Spotting is common on New Dealer In-Stock vehicles that have not been occasionally moved. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90 (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown will prevent tire Flat Spotting. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192801SERVICE INFORMATION Because of collision damage or other vehicle repair, a replacement "Certification Label" or "VIN Plate / Label" may be needed. These items may be available from Nissan by request if certain criteria are met. This bulletin lists the criteria and provides an application form for such replacements. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192727SERVICE INFORMATION The purpose of this bulletin is to give Nissan dealers guidelines to help determine if windshield breakage is covered under warranty or is the customer?s responsibility. Nissan North America (NNA) is not responsible for damage to glass that is a result of objects striking or scratching the glass. However, NNA is responsible for manufacturing issues such as distorted glass and cracks that are due to improper installation or damage to the glass during vehicle assembly. NNA typically does not find any type of cracks in the windshield due to stress after the dealership PDI. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192707SERVICE INFORMATION The Intelligent Keys used on the various Nissan vehicles may not be interchangeable between models and years. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192677SERVICE INFORMATION Windshield "foreign material" that is on the surface of the glass in some cases can be cleaned off with a very particular type and grade of steel wool. * Most any foreign material on the surface of the Windshield can be cleaned off by using #0000 super fine steel wool. >The #0000 grade super fine steel wool can be found in most hardware stores. Please see this bulletin for further details.
- 10192661SERVICE INFORMATION: The Navigation (NAVI) SD Map Data Cards are not interchangeable between the two versions of NAVI units offered in Nissan vehicles that use this type of map data. * If the wrong SD Map Data Card is used, the NAVI will display an update screen (Figures 1 and 2, reference only) and will only accept Cancel. * If this screen is displayed, install the correct SD Map Data Card, found in table A on page 2, and the NAVI unit will return to correct operation. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192638SERVICE INFORMATION This bulletin has compiled Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) and Low Tire Pressure Warning System (LTPWS) information for: - Basic diagnosing of TPMS/LTPWS systems - Radio frequency interference causing a "No Data" (C1708, C1709, C1710, C1711) condition - Sensor leaks - Moving TPMS/LTPWS wheel assemblies from one vehicle to another and TPMS/LTPWS sensor registration - Air pressure changes with altitude and ambient temperatures - Aftermarket tire sealers - Aftermarket wheels - Inflating/deflating tires with TPMS/LTPWS sensors See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192615SERVICE INFORMATION The information in this bulletin is provided to help ensure correct diagnosis and repair of fluid leaks. All fluid leaks, when properly diagnosed, should be repaired (whether under warranty or customer pay) to ensure proper vehicle operation. However, certain normal operating conditions can be misdiagnosed as a leak requiring repair. Unnecessary repair or replacement of parts in connection with incorrectly diagnosed "leaks" can negatively impact customer satisfaction, be time consuming and costly, and if not performed correctly can lead to future repairs. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192605IF YOU CONFIRM: Customers concern of a "clicking" noise coming from either left or right front/rear CV-type axles during take-off/acceleration. ACTION: Apply Molykote M77 grease (P/N 44003-7S000) to the hub bearing surfaces. NOTE: * Do not remove the axle from the hub or transmission for this bulletin * Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for model specific torque specifications. - For 2007-2013 Versa and 2013 LEAF vehicles, see the Service Procedure torque specifications on page 4. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192604IF YOU CONFIRM: The vehicle speed is, or was, reduced by the CVT fail-safe (reduced vehicle speed) after continuous operation under the following conditions: * High RPM and/or high speed driving (4000 RPM or more, and/or 65 MPH or more for 1.0 - 1.5 hrs or more) * Driving in ambient temperature of 96 degrees or higher * Climbing steep or extended hills for 6 miles or more * Whine or rattle type noise occurring during reduced engine performance (vehicle speed decrease) NOTE: Before applying this bulletin if the vehicle has any DTCs, they should be checked and repaired first. ACTION: Install SERVICE KIT-COOLER ASSY. See this bulletin for further details.
- 10192597SERVICE INFORMATION When servicing run flat tires or low profile tires: - Special equipment and procedures are required to avoid damage. - Specifically, Tire Pressure Monitor transmitters (TPMS sensors) can be damaged when improperly dismounting and mounting tires. - TPMS sensors becoming damaged during mounting or dismounting tires are not covered under warranty. - To avoid such damage, ensure that the tire changer being used and the operator of the tire changer is capable of servicing run flat and low profile tires. - Operator?s manuals for such tire changers must be followed. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192591SERVICE INFORMATION After ECM reprogramming, the Calibration Verification Number (CVN) needs to be automatically calculated prior to State emissions testing (also known as Inspection Maintainence, I/M, or SMOG testing depending upon location). Allowing the vehicle to idle for 22 minutes will allow for faster CVN calculation. It is recommended that customers utilize this method if the vehicle needs to be tested for emissions soon after ECM reprogramming. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192532SERVICE INFORMATION NOTE - Failure to follow the procedures in this bulletin may result in the denial of a warranty claim. In an effort to protect the paint finish, Paint Guard Film (PGF) is applied on many new Nissan vehicles. Paint Guard Film is a temporary white plastic protective film that is applied by the factory to the horizontal painted surfaces of the vehicle. The PGF protects the paint finish during vehicle handling, transportation and storage from harmful elements such as acid rain, iron particles, bird droppings, tree sap and other environmental contaminants. NOTE - Paint Guard Film CANNOT remain on the vehicle for more than six months after the vehicle's manufacture date. PGF must be removed at the end of six months. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192513SERVICE INFORMATION Changes or modifications to the front seat assembly trim materials may affect the proper operation of the Front Seat-Mounted Side-Impact Supplemental Air Bags and Passenger Occupant Classification Sensor and could result in serious personal injury or death. Nissan STRONGLY RECOMMENDS AGAINST making any change to seat trim materials from the factory equipped condition. This specifically applies to replacing the seat trim with non-factory materials; adding leather/cloth seat covers, seat pads, or seat storage pouches, etc. around or over the seat back and the passenger seat cushion. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192508SERVICE INFORMATION DTC B2190 (NATS ANTENNA AMP) can be stored for the following reasons: 1. Something other than an Intelligent Key is inserted into the Key-Slot. 2. An Intelligent Key issue. 3. A wiring issue between the Key-Slot and the BCM. 4. A Key-Slot issue. If DTC B2190 is stored due to 1 or 2 above, it will not erase, or go to "PAST", until a known good registered Intelligent Key is inserted into the Key-Slot. For DTC B2190 diagnosis; first perform the Service Manual DTC Confirmation Procedure. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192478SERVICE INFORMATION Starting with 2010 Model Year, Nissan vehicles have been gradually incorporating a new type of DTC known as Permanent DTC or P-DTC. If a vehicle is equipped with P-DTCs, all emission related DTCs will also set a P-DTC if the MIL is turned ON. A listing of which DTCs that will also set a P-DTC is found in the DTC Index in the EC-Engine Control section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). If a DTC repair is performed and the DTC erased, a vehicle may fail an Emission Inspection and Maintenance test if the P-DTC is not also erased. See this bulletin for further detail.
