Loss of brake fluid can lead to a decrease in brake line pressure and an increase in stopping distance, which can result in a vehicle crash.
Remedy
Affinia (brake parts, inc.) will replace the subject brake hydraulic master cylinders free of charge. the recall began on march 20, 2006. owners can contact affina group customer service at 1-800-323-0354.
On certain MINI vans, condensation from the instrument panel air conditioning ducts may drop through vent holes in the top of the radio and result in a short circuit that subsequently sends direct current to the rear speakers.

Dealers will add a special tape to the top of the radio to prevent the potential of water intrusion. the recall began on january 31, 2005. owners should contact daimlerchrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
On certain minivans equipped with 3.3 or 3.8L V-6 engine, the upper power steering cooler hose may split and cause a fluid leak.

Certain aftermarket replacement fuel filters, models wix filter part numbers 33576, 33577, 33734; napa filter part numbers 3576, 3577, 3734; and carquest filter part numbers 86576, 86577, 86734 used on 1996-2000 daimlerchrysler town & country, dodge caravan, and plymouth voyager vehicles, can cause the fuel lines to leak.

Aftermarket replacement fuel filters for 1995-2000 short wheelbase chrysler town & country, plymouth voyager and dodge caravan minivans part no. 18232 and date code 0237, 0249, or 0252. replacement fuel filters for 1995-2000 long wheelbase chrysler town & country, plymouth voyager and dodge caravan minivans part no. 18230 and date code 0237, 0249, 0251, or 0304. replacement fuel filters for 2001-2004 chrysler town & country, plymouth voyager and dodge caravan minivans part no. 28871 and date code 0249. these part numbers and date codes appear on the gold-tone filter. distributors and retailers will be notified to isolate and return affected inventory. owners who have had the fuel filter serviced on one of the applicable vehicles after september 17, 2002 should return their vehicle to the service facility to be inspected to see if the fuel filter that was installed IS one that IS involved in the recall. if so, the owners should have the filter replaced. to receive a full refund plus the cost of postage, owners should cut the connectors from the hoses, rinse the connectors and return them together with proof of the amount paid for the replacement part and labor, to intercontinental at intercontinental auto parts, inc., p.o. Box 861, mahwah, nj 07430, attn: fuel filter recall. intercontinental will mail a full refund to the owner.
On certain MINI vans, the fuel tank control valve weld joint could separate resulting in a possible fuel leak.

Vehicle description: certain MINI vans fail to comply with requirements of fmvss no. 225, "child restraint anchorage systems." the owner manuals supplied with these vehicles do not indicate which seating positions are equipped with tether anchorages and child restraint anchorage systems as required by the standard.

The contact owns a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, an abnormal sound was heard coming from the vehicle, and a fuel odor was detected. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the serpentine belt had fractured and severed the fuel line, causing fuel to spill onto the engine. The mechanic replaced the serpentine belt and trimmed the fuel line; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the mechanic, and the mechanic bent the clamps on the serpentine belt and reattached the belt. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

Also, the speedometer failed to operate as needed. Additionally, while depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to immediately stop with the pedal extended to the floor. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,346.

And just about every thing to keep the vehicle running IS new. the fuel pump, the fuel filter, the power steering pump water pump tcm , the crankshaft sensor all are new with spark plugs wires and tune up. So why won't my 2002 chrysler town & country start? I am ask you to replace this for free or give me another vehicle at no cost. My vehicle IS fully paid for and I don't want to hear that it IS due to age. There are many vehicles with this same issue with less mile.

I have had the drive belt, power steering pump, tension idler replaced and nothing helps. I have taken it to john greene chrysler dodge in morganton nc, and other repair centers. No one has been able to fix the problem.

The fuel injection wiring harness length IS apparently too long and it can drop down near the exhaust manifold where the heat will melt the insulation on the wires causing them to short together causing severe misfire and possible damage to the catalytic converter. the vehicle had run fine a couple of days previously and on starting the vehicle it seemed to idle a little rough. driving on the road it ran very rough and was randomly misfiring on multiple cylinders. the mil light began to flash on and off on acceleration. On investigation the wires in the fuel injection wiring harness were found to be melted and shorting together. I suspect in the ensuing two days that the temperature changes exacerbated the problem and temperature change induced movement caused the wires to short together. from researching this problem it affects many vehicles. I'm surprised that a recall has not yet been issued for it.

Over the last four years I have experienced several instances of partial front brake application when no driver input IS initiated. this results in the feeling of the car dragging. it IS subtle but if the car IS put into neutral the car comes to a stop even with no driver brake input. in several instances the front brakes get extremely hot and begin to smoke. this IS a serious fire hazard. after allowing the brakes to cool for about an hour the brakes return to normal and driving can resume. I have taken the car several times to the chrysler dealer and other mechanics. they can find nothing wrong. there does not seem to be any recalls or alerts concerning this problem. I would estimate that this problem has occurred about seven or eight times, the most recent one on july 8, 2017. weather does not seem to be a factor nor does highway or local driving.

The town and country van that we own continues to have multiple issues with intermittent stalling and various speeds. The van usually has problems most after refilling with gasoline. This problem has been happening for a few months and continues despite efforts to remedy the problem. I feel this IS a safety issue that needs to be addressed by chrysler and the nhtsa to avoid a major casualty incident since these vans are having documented problems at all speeds including highway driving at 70 plus mph. We are not sure if the problem exists due to electrical issues, fuel pump issues or evap system issues due to the fact that no reportable codes are being thrown when the vehicle has this problem. *tr

My wife was turning into our driveway an collided with a snowmobile. The driver side airbag deployed. There was a problem with the inflator (sealed over) and the airbag exploded putting shrapnel into her body. Because of the location of the air bag and the body most of the shrapnel went into her chest, with the airbag plate breaking apart striking her in the chin breaking her jaw in three places. if it hadn't been for a great ambulance crew she would have bled to death. She was in a trauma hospital for 3 and 1/2 months. She has permanent muscle and nerve damage, the jaw IS not aligned correctly so he has problems eating.

By letter of april 5, 2005, dcc has notified the agency that it will conduct a safety recall of 70,235 model year (my) 2003 chrysler town & country and dodge grand caravan vehicles equipped with the plg option.dcc has identified a problem in early production my 2003 plg control modules that can prevent the plg door from latching closed in a power open/close cycle.in this condition the plg can rise (not power open) during vehicle operation.dealers will install a revised plg control module to remedy the affected vehicles.see safety recall 05v134 for details.

On july 7, 2004, the office of defects investigation (odi) opened a preliminary evaluation based on consumer complaints alleging an interior vehicle fire starting in the area of the driver side rear speaker.daimlerchrysler corporation (dcc) informed odi that condensation from the instrument panel air conditioning ducts may drip onto the radio and into vent holes on top of the radio.this can result in a short circuit sending direct current to the rear speakers and cause a speaker fire.the condition IS present only on subject vehicles equipped with the base radio.subject vehicles with other option radios contain circuit protection that prevents sending direct current to the speakers and are not affected.all nine complaints pertain to vehicles with the base radio.by letter dated november 1, 2004, dcc notified nhtsa that it will conduct a safety recall (nhtsa# 04v531) covering model year 2001-2002 dodge caravan, grand caravan, chrysler voyager, and town & country models with base radio only (est. 238,000 vehicles).dcc dealers will install a protective tape to the top of the radio assembly to prevent water intrusion.the action taken by dcc IS sufficient to resolve the issue raised by this investigation.accordingly, this investigation IS closed.

Mopar offers an alternative product (82213192) which is a water based product approved for sale in the aforementioned states.~ ~ Please inform the customer & your prep dept that spraying excessive amounts of the fabric protector on load floors will result in the breaking down of the adhesive (glue) that is used to create the bond between the fabric (carpet) and the load floor. This will apply to any vehicles equipped with rear load floors such as WK, WD, PM, MK, KA, KK. The carpet will appear to be loose, wrinkly, or bunch up~
