Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle jerked and lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was restarted; however, the vehicle drove at a reduced speed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that metal shavings were found in the fuel filter. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

Truck has about 65K miles on it. It has had 2 major diesel engine malfunctions that left me stranded on the road. The first time I barely made it off the travel lanes. The second time at least I was able to get fully off the road. Both times we were on the highway. It already has had the fuel pump go out causing major problems and having a new fuel system put in. Now something else internally of the engine has blown up and now it has metal shaving all thru the engine. The first time it took over 2 months to get fixed and this time its been in the shop 8 weeks and the ford extended warrentee still hasn't approved the repairs. I've read many on line posts saying that these 2011 diesel engines are exploding and ford won't cover the repairs or make good.

A fuel injector clamp broke leading to raw fuel pouring down the side of the motor as well as vaporized fuel spraying around the top of the motor. After ordering the replacement clamp I realized they have changed the design from a piece of cast metal to stamped steel ( much stronger). If the fuel ignited it could be catastrophic. Luckily the clamp broke in my drive way and not while towing a heavy load. This could lead to the vehicle shutting down or worse catching fire. Enclose find pictures of the broken clamp and the redesigned new clamp. There are 7 more clamps on this motor waiting to fail. This vehicle only has 57,000 miles on it and has never been abused.

Had just checked for correct inflation. Blow out occurred on a straight clear level section while during the speed limit in cruise controll. Could have been fatal in other situations. bought four new cooper tires to replace the granadas. Found the right rear was also in the process of delamination and could have blown out soon. Severe damage was done to the left rear wheel well are and exterior truck bed. We were traveling on US23 in wise virginia, down a mountain. A signal at the bottom turned red; when my husband applied the brakes, the engine experienced total failure. There was no advance indication from the vehicle safety system that anything was wrong. With no engine power, my husband had no brakes or power steering to control the vehicle. Due to driver skill and luck, we were able to bring the vehicle to a safe stop. The vehicle IS now at freedom ford in wise, and their technician says the failure was due to excessive water in the fuel, and the fuel system IS contaminated and needs to be completely replaced. This indicates to- various outside mechanics- that the water and fuel separator wasn't working; thus allowing the engine to become overwhelmed. This suggests faulty parts- a faulty separator-which should be covered under our warranty. However, ford IS claiming that the fuel system failure IS what caused the complete loss of power.

I was passing a transport truck and just as I got even with the door of the truck my ford F350 super duty motor quit, just shut down. A bus was coming in my lane as I was passing, the truck slowed down to let me by but I had no power, no power brakes or power steering. The bus slowed down and I braked enough to get in back of the truck and over to the side of the road. The bus went on by and the truck continued on his way and I tried to start my truck. It fired up and we drove to a tractor supply and bought some diesel oil and when we checked the oil to see how much it was down we were surprised to find it was full. We drove 200 miles home and didn't have another problem. There were no codes on the computer screen in the truck. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet but will to see if their equipment will show a reason.

Truck goes into a death wobble when driving 60mph or faster. usually happens when you go over a bridge, cattle guard or bump in the road. cause the cehicle to shake uncontrollably and you have to come to almost a complete stop. No knots or damage noted and all tires same temperature. Thought a balance weight had come off and tires needed to be rebalanced. Began driving on interstate with no change in vibration. About 15 minutes later there was an explosion and the truck violently veered to the right. Pulled back into my lane and then pulled over to right shoulder. Right front tire destroyed. Called aaa and highway patrol. Described incident to trooper and he looked at the tire and said the belts separated. Significant damage to vehicle - bent right front bumper forward, blew a 7 foot factory running board off of the vehicle and destroyed the right front quarter panel. Right front tire changed and stayed overnight at motel. Obtained new tire replacement next morning. I bought this truck to pull a trailer but have not bought a trailer yet. Luckily I was not pulling a trailer and there was not a vehicle next to me in the right lane when the explosion occurred. There were no vehicles nearby or they may have had some major debris flying their way. The tire IS a capitol h/t tire not capitol precision trac II (but form would not allow me to add this tire to complaint)

No impact point, not hole, no sign of anything hitting (which would be next to impossible from the side with no traffic around). it was an extremely loud bang like a gun shot when it occurred. 2011 ford F350. googling online indicates this IS not a rare event.

I lost steering in the truck. The steering wheel turned left to right and vise versa with a lot of play. It happens randomly. The front end will shakes because of no steering making the truck uncontrollable. It IS very random when it happens and has happened at interstate speed. The dealer says there IS nothing wrong and have replaced tie rod ends along with brakes.

Upon starting the vehicle, I noticed that the check engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it has been diagnosed with a bad def pump, heater and sensor. These are for emission control and I have been told that these parts are not a warrantied item. Seems that this should be covered as it for the safety of the environment.

No injuries and no other vehicles involved. No road hazard hit. Tires rotated as required. In for dealer service that morning and correct inflation verified.

Later lost power on a major highway going up hill. Truck was towed to ford dealer where I was told the truck had a recall, 14e03. I was told egt sensor #2 was replaced and the 14e03 recall was done but the two were not connected. I leaned this problem was addressed in a nov.2013 recall for ambulances but this was not addressed for the hundreds of thousands of privately owned trucks. Why? I leaned of the jan.2015 recall 14e03 when my truck was towed in to dealer. This IS not only a costly but also dangerous game ford IS playing with it's customers. I was blessed! *tr

I had to hit the button for a signal to be sent to ford every time my engine lost power (went momentarily dead) finally ford installed a 2013 ecm to correct the problem, which it fixed it. It has happened several times. On two occasions, the shaking was bad the tread separated from the tire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, and nothing was done, except rotating the tires and checking the air pressure. In february 2014, the dealer replaced the steering damper. The problem went away for about five months. the dealer informed the consumer, the vehicle needs new tie rods, front drive link, a front track bar and an alignment. *Jb

The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate and the front passenger side tire had malfunctioned. While changing the tire the contact discovered that the inside section of the tread had separated from the tire. The contact indicated that 3 days later while driving approximately 65 mph, the front end of the vehicle began to vibrate and the contact stop the vehicle. Upon inspection the contact discovered that the outer section of tread on the driver side tire had too separated. The contact continued to drive at slow speeds for a short distance before tire experienced a blowout. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure but no solution was offered. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 47,000.

**2011 F350 sd 4X2. First noticed this phenomenon at 65mph on the thruway. When hitting certain rough road surface, or bumps, or concavities etc., front wheels "hop" to one side, steering the vehicle into the shoulder, if "hopping" to the right, or into the left lane of traffic if bump causes a left side "hop". can "hop" either way dependent upon which wheel strikes the rough surface. If both wheels strike the rough surface then it can go either way. This happens at lower speeds as well. Can hop 12" or more. I am frightened by this vehicle as I could easily strike a concrete barrier or concrete curb or a pedestrian or another vehicle. I have driven other manufacturers vehicles of similar gvwr, over the last 35 years, and this problem IS particular to this make and model only. I compared with a 2015 ford, same vehicle, and that does the same thing. Ford claims its normal. ford claims it IS normal until you "load it" to capacity, just over 2 tons. "Once its loaded, you will be ok", says ford. So their theory states its ok to be an unsafe vehicle while you're traveling to pick up your 4000lb load, then once you're loaded its ok. So if you have no load for 50% of the time then its ok to have a vehicle that IS unsafe 1/2 the time you drive it! this IS obviously an engineering problem and I doubt ford will admit it, but it certainly IS unsafe and somebody had better look into this before someone IS killed. **incidentally, this IS a 2011 that I bought brand new in 2014. It sat on the lot for 3 years. This has no bearing on the issue however since the 2015 displays the same tendencies. *tr

Ford manufactured approximately 555,985 subject vehicles between February 22, 2010 and January 30, 2015 that may be affected by defective EGT sensors and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software calibration. The subject vehicles are equipped with four (4) EGT sensors to monitor engine operating conditions. An EGT sensor fault may produce false exhaust over-temperature signals. If these signals are produced, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) implements a Failure Management Effects Mode (FMEM) and the driver receives a Stop Safely Now (SSN) system warning on the instrument cluster message center. The FMEM triggers a 70% reduction in available engine power over a period of no more than 45 seconds, during which it may not be possible to accelerate or maintain vehicle speed. The PCM then commands the engine to shut down when vehicle speed reaches approximately 1 mph. There is no immediate restart capability. Depending on the PCM software calibration, ignition key position and ambient temperature conditions, the engine may not restart until the end of a 10-60 minute cool down period.Ford and its component supplier(s) made numerous changes to the PCM software calibration and the design, material and manufacture of the EGT sensors over the period of subject vehicle production. This continuous product improvement affected vehicle performance regarding the alleged defect. Ford acknowledges the defect condition in the subject vehicles but argues that an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety is limited to Ambulance Package and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles where commanded shutdown could impact emergency response and patient care. Ford also argues that the defect trend is in decline. Ford also initiated a new safety recall (15V-175) to address the 13V-535 remedy concerns in the Ambulance Package vehicles and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles. The 15V-175 remedy reprograms the PCM with a new software calibration that stops a single EGT sensor fault to cause the vehicle to enter the FMEM shutdown mode.Ford also initiated an EPA emissions recall (14E03) for all subject vehicles that reprograms the PCM with the software calibration employed in safety recall 15V-175. Finally, Ford initiated a Customer Satisfaction Program (15M01) providing extended warranty coverage of 8 years or 80,000 miles for the the EGT sensors on certain MY2011-2012 subject vehicles.Due to the EPA emissions recall, that had a 66.6% completion rate in Ford's December 2015 progress report to the EPA, the defect trend is in decline. ODI is not aware of any crashes, deaths or injuries related to the alleged defect.ODI believes the alleged defect poses a safety risk but notes that the EPA emissions recall is addressing the safety problem.Compelling issuance of a duplicate recall would not represent a wise use of agency resources.Accordingly, this Recall Query is closed.This action is not a finding that no defect exists and NHTSA will take further action if such action is warranted.

- 10164598Some remanufactured 6.7L diesel engines recently installed in 2011-2014 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a lack of power with engine oil temperature (EOT) exceeding 125C (257F) under loads. This may also be accompanied by REDUCED ENGINE POWER being displayed in the message center and the coolant temperature gauge indicating H. This symptom may be due to a missing metering cup plug in the upper oil pan causing reduced oil flow through the oil cooler. Remanufactured engines built on 1-Mar-2019 and through 13-May-2019 may be affected. If a vehicle exhibits this concern, use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of the OASIS tab and submit a report. Include the engine serial number and engine build date in the report. The dealership may be contacted for further details and possible repair direction.
- 10164508Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.
- 10162082Some 2011-2019 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may come in for scheduled maintenance on the engine mounted fuel filter. When reconnecting a fuel line quick connect fitting back onto the engine mounted fuel filter housing, push the connector all the way onto the fuel filter connection port. For some vehicles, you may need to depress a retainer clip to lock the quick connect port into place. Once the fitting is latched fully onto the connection port, pull straight backward on the fuel line to verify it is fully latched onto the connection port. Do not bend the fuel line connection when pulling to verify it is connected. Refer to Workshop Manual sections 310-00 for details on quick connect fittings.
- 10160931On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.
