Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2022 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, and F-450 SD vehicles. The 360-degree view camera system may not display a rearview image properly in certain lighting conditions.

A rearview camera image that does not display properly can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will update the image processing module software, free of charge.This will be a phased campaign, with the remedy becoming available in different phases based on model years. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on October 30, 2025. Additional letters will be mailed once the remedy is available on each phase. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2022 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty vehicles equipped with gasoline engines and aluminum driveshafts. Underbody heat and noise insulators may loosen and contact the aluminum driveshaft, which could damage the driveshaft and cause it to fracture.

A fractured driveshaft can cause a loss of drive power, or a loss of vehicle control if the driveshaft contacts the ground. Additionally, unintended movement could occur while parked if the parking brake is not engaged. Any of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy

Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

The contact stated that while driving and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle lurched forward, and the brake pedal was depressed with more force for the vehicle to respond as intended. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission shifted hard and downshifted with reduced power. The Forward Collision Avoidance alarm sounded after the vehicle downshifted. The contact pulled over to the side of the road before continuing to drive. Additionally, the vehicle rolled backwards while in park(P). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 20V365000 (Power Train) and 22V256000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recalls. The dealer reported the failure to the manufacturer, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle with the ignition key, the vehicle failed to start as intended. The check engine warning light was illuminated. In addition, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel); and the VIN was included. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the fuel pump failure. The vehicle was not repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000(Fuel System, Diesel); because there was no metallic debris found in the fuel system. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and the recall repair was denied. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.

The backup camera on the tailgate fails about 50% of the time when shifting into reverse. The screen is black. When it fails, I can sometimes get it to work by opening, then slamming the tailgate. I suspect that there is an intermittent open circuit in the camera system. This presents a dangerous situation when trying to back this very large dual rear wheel vehicle. This is not related to the current recall for another issue with the camera when backing into a darkened area.

The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH and towing a dump trailer, the vehicle entered LIMP Mode. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the contact's storage yard, where an independent diesel mechanic performed a diagnostic scan and retrieved diagnostic trouble codes indicating a fuel system failure. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was disassembled and diagnosed with a CP4 pump failure resulting from a water separator failure. The contact was informed that the CP4 pump replacement was not covered and needed to be replaced at the owner's expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and contacted the dealer, but no further assistance or information was available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

While towing any trailer with electric brakes it appears the integrated trailer brake controller is briefly applying trailer brakes unexpectedly. Very brief but very hard, resulting in an extreme rearward pull on the truck. It happens at exactly 60 minute intervals, at any speed, uphill, downhill and level flat road. I've had the trailer 7 way plug and wire inspected, no problem found. Next step will be to have Ford dealer inspect truck electronics.

The transmission began malfunctioning by having hard shifting issues and losing power in some gears. An indicator on the dash lit up resembling a mechanics open-end wrench. Research online showed that the vehicle should not be driven and taken immediately to a mechanic or dealership. If driven especially pulling a heavy load like the fifth wheel that I bought the truck to tow the transmission could fail causing a serious safety issue. I immediately took the vehicle to a certified Ford dealership. At the dealership they informed me that parts in the transmission had failed and that it was the same exact condition as shown in recall 20S33. The noted recall was for trucks manufactured in January and February of 2020. My truck was manufactured March of 2020. The time warranty had expired for the vehicle but the mileage warranty was for 60,000 mi and the truck failed at $29,800. The transmission failed due to a manufacturing defect but I was billed over $9,800 for the repair. I have attached photos of the work order and receipt.

The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V626000 (Steering). There was extreme damage to the underbody of the vehicle, and several parts were separated from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot and was deemed a total loss by the Insurance Company. The contact sustained a concussion and neck injury and was taken to the hospital for medical assistance. The dealer was not contacted. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he had a loss of motive power and check engine warning light was illuminated when driving, almost causing an accident due to not being able to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed to have metal shavings in the combustion system. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL); however, the SSSC (Special Service Center assistance request) was declined by Ford agency (SSSC), due to the issue not having metal shavings although the dealer technician stated there were shavings. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,136.

The component/system that failed or malfunctioned is the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) NOx Catalyst Efficiency system, triggering DTC P20EE – SCR NOx Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). This issue began immediately after Ford Recall 24S78 (PCM software update) was performed on April 29, 2026 at Ferman Ford of Countryside. The truck had zero emissions or check-engine issues prior to the recall flash and was perfectly maintained to Ford standards with Howes diesel treatment every tank. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed multiple times by the dealer: After the May 4 PCM reprogram per TSB 21-2248 After replacement of both NOx sensors on May 5 (code returned in under 17 miles) After replacement of the DEF injector (code returned again) The dealer only performed one manual DPF regeneration instead of the two required by Ford SSM 49202 and pinpoint test RD15, and they did not complete the SCR Parameter Reset. They are now quoting an additional ~$2,000 out-of-pocket for a DPF replacement after partial goodwill assistance was approved. The vehicle has been repeatedly inspected and repaired by Ferman Ford. No independent inspection yet. Ford Customer Service has been contacted and partial goodwill was approved, but significant out-of-pocket costs remain. Warning lamps/messages (Service Engine Soon light + “exhaust emission control system is not operating as expected”) first appeared immediately after the April 29 recall PCM flash and have continued ever since. Safety risk: A loss of motive power, entry into limp mode, or reduced power while driving could result in a crash or inability to maintain highway speed. This appears to be a direct consequence of the Recall 24S78 PCM software update tightening emissions monitoring. All repair orders, photos of warnings, and supporting documents are attached for your review. There is 12. I was not able to upload the last of the documents.

My 2020 F-350 VIN [XXX] was built at Kentucky Truck Plant in March 2020 — within the exact production window of Safety Recall 22S22. My transmission has failed with the exact defect mechanism described in 22S22. My VIN was excluded from the recall FSA list despite matching build date, plant, and identical failure mode. I am requesting this complaint be reviewed in the context of Ford's consent order obligations regarding proper recall scope. Ford Customer Care Case Number: XXX-XXX." Vehicle was unable to maintain gear selection and would unexpectedly lose drive power. These failures match the exact defect described in NHTSA recall 22V256000

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it remained for two months. The contact was then informed that parts to repair the vehicle were unavailable, and the contact was informed to retrieve the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and provided the same information as the dealer. The contact had not experienced a failure.

I am the owner of a 2020 Ford F‑350 equipped with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel engine. My vehicle is subject to an open safety recall, NHTSA 24V957, involving the high‑pressure fuel system. I have been informed by an authorized Ford dealer that there is currently no effective repair remedy available. While I have not experienced loss of power, my vehicle has exhibited abnormal transmission shifting behavior beginning around 40,000 miles. This concern was documented by the dealer and described as normal operation. The condition persisted and was documented again around 60,000 miles, although the dealer stated they could not replicate the issue. Given the unresolved safety recall and ongoing powertrain behavior, I am concerned about vehicle safety, drivability, and long‑term reliability, and I am submitting this complaint to document the risk before a safety‑related failure occurs.

Vehicle produced symptoms over time: Loss of Ford Pass connectivity, Inconsistent turn signal function, occasional dashboard alarm for Open Driver Door while driving, unwarranted security alarm triggers when still at home. Second to last incident was an unwarranted security alarm that triggered, and was unable to be stopped by use of the security controls (lock/unlock, alarm key button). Horn "wore out" as if fuse burned. Disconnected battery to stop. Two days later, after reconnecting the battery I drove the vehicle, Horn was not functional, and I was unable to stop the engine. Once started, the vehicle did not turn off, even with key completely removed from ignition switch. This was repeatable, every ignition cycle, thereafter. I drove to the dealer, that morning. The dealer mechanic was required to shut off the engine. Dealer mechanic diagnosed failed Battery Junction Box. After Repair, Mechanic diagnosed faulty Body Control Module. Dealer mechanic also recommended replacement of full "Main" wiring harness, interconnecting the two. The cause for all failures was corrosion and electrical shorts due to water ingress. I am aware Ford has issued numerous TSBs and recalls for faulty BCMs, in the same age range as this vehicle. Also, TSBs for water intrusion into the BCM. The mechanic took photos of corrosion on both the BCM and main wiring harness. My prior vehicle was a 2011 Ford F-150, with the same 6.2L engine. No such faults were experienced up to Nov. 2023 sale. Photos of the corrosion on main wiring harness and BCM attached. Dealer has possession of the vehicle. Repairs in progress. Ford has declined support for faulty components; Recalls not associated with this vehicle. Estimated repairs to date on 6 year old vehicle on critical electronics in excess of $7,000.

Did the software update and it got extremely worse not wanting to shift into gear. Take the truck to ford in November to have fixed said I needed a new tranny. My extended warranty approves a used one they put it in same thing happening. Send that one back and put another one in same issue with that tranny. It is now March and they cant find another used tranny to fix my truck. After reading many things online it comes down to the CDF drum the bushing/sleeve moves inside the drum. Ford is aware of this issue and has upgraded/revised a drum. Why is this not a recall issue?

The contact had not lost control of the vehicle. The contact was unsure if any warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the dealer at slow speeds. The dealer determined that the steering column upper shaft had separated. The dealer informed the contact that the recall repair stated that the upper shaft would be repaired or replaced. The contact was informed that replacing the steering column was not part of the recall repair and the contact would be responsible for additional repairs. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied assistance in covering the cost of the additional repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

The Office of Defect Investigations (ODI) has received 27 complaints alleging diesel fuel leaks due to a fracture in the secondary fuel filter housing in model year (MY) 2015-2021 Ford Motor Company (Ford) F-250, 350, 450, and 550 Super Duty vehicles equipped with 6.7L diesel engines. Of these complaints, 12 describe an engine compartment fire. The proximity of the secondary fuel filter to high heat sources creates a potential for autoignition thermal events and fires. ODI has contacted the vehicle manufacturer, Ford, and the filter manufacturer, Allevard Sogefi USA (Sogefi), and learned that the low-pressure fuel system is capable of a maximum operating pressure of 8.5 Bar, while the secondary fuel filter is only tested to seven (7) Bar during the manufacturing process. Additionally, changes starting in 2022 by both Ford and Sogefi align with a lack of similar complaints on MY 2022 and newer vehicles. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation (PE) to evaluate the severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related problems. On September 23, 2020, Ford Motor Company (Ford) filed a noncompliance recall report under 49 CFR Part 573 (NHTSA Recall No. 20V-575), recalling 620,246 Model Year (MY) 2020 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, Explorer, Mustang, Transit, Expedition, Escape, Ranger and Edge, and Lincoln Nautilus and Corsair vehicles for a noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 111, Rear Visibility. Ford's recall described the noncompliance as insufficient electrical conductivity within the printed circuit board (PCB) internal to the camera leading to intermittent rearview camera operation. The supplier of the cameras was Magna Electronics.According to Ford's chronology in the Part 573, during the period February-April 2020, Ford identified and monitored warranty claims pertaining to intermittent or inoperative rearview cameras. Ford reviewed supplier product changes, focusing on changes introduced by the supplier in the October-November 2019 time frame. The Part 573 stated that the issue was brought to Ford's Critical Concerns Review Group (CCRG) for review on May 12, 2020.On July 7, 2020, NHTSA's Vehicle Research and Testing Center (VRTC) informed the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) of a trend of MY 2020 Escape vehicles with rearview camera malfunctions. ODI contacted Ford the next day, providing five Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) alleging inoperative rearview cameras. On July 15, 2020, Ford met with NHTSA to discuss the rearview camera issue. In a subsequent August 24, 2020 meeting, ODI and NHTSA's Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance (OVSC) met with Ford to discuss the recall status and additional VOQs. In January 2021, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened a Recall Query (RQ21-001) to assess allegations of post-recall remedy uncommanded tailgate openings in model year (MY) 2017-2019 F-250/350/450 Ford trucks. Besides the recall remedy launched in January 2020, Ford also implemented a production update in November 2019. At the time of the RQ opening, ODI had received eleven (11) Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs). ODI sent an Information Request (IR) to Ford in February 2021. In numerous meetings after receiving their IR response, Ford highlighted the drop in claims since the recall and production update and communicated how they were unable to verify the owners’ complaints or replicate the concern. Despite this, Ford began developing ways to prevent uncommanded tailgate openings from various human, mechanical or electrical causes. Based on testing, Ford issued a Customer Satisfaction program, 21M05-S1/S2/S3, to further address the potential of unintended tailgate openings. This work was applied to vehicles being produced as of December 20, 2021. The program began for already delivered vehicles on July 22, 2022. The covered models include 2017-2022 F-250, 350, 450, 550, 650 and 750 Super Duty and 2020-2022 F-600 Super Duty trucks. ODI has received 39 VOQs between February 24, 2020, and December 15, 2023, alleging uncommanded tailgate openings. In a detailed analysis, none of the vehicles in the VOQs were found to have received the Customer Satisfaction update. Since ODI has not received any complaints of post-Customer Satisfaction program tailgate openings, this office is closing this Recall Query. The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by NHTSA that a safety-related defect does not exist. The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. Depending on the outcome of the pinpoint test, a repair validation code (RVC) may be generated eitherin the pinpoint test or Guided Routine. If the vehicle concern still exists after following the pinpoint tests orguided routine, then a manual RVC can be generated using the RVC Assist Form. A manual RVC can only begenerated once the above process has been followed.

Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.

Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.
- 10250852Some 2020-2023 Ford and Lincoln SYNC3 equipped vehicles may experience an inaccurate notification in the FordPass/LincolnWay app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode message is expected if the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SoC) drops below 50%. If the vehicle is going into deep sleep due to one of these conditions, follow normal Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 414-01 procedure to correct the concern. If the vehicle is going into deep sleep outside these conditions, this may be due to the telematics control unit (TCU) software. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the TCU to the latest software. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
- 102491752024 F-Super Duty vehicles are equipped with XL-22 (WSS-M2C184-A1) high temperature power steering fluid that looks like clear hydraulic fluid. This fluid is an improvement in high temperature and thermal oxidative stability compared to Mercon LV. This power steering fluid is also compatible and highly recommended to use when filling or topping off power steering systems of all 2012-2023 F-Super Duty vehicles originally equipped with Mercon LV.
- 10245672Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may require a long block replacement of the engine for various reasons. The replacement long block may be equipped with an updated upper oil pan. If the oil filter adapter from the original engine does not mate with the new upper oil pan, service parts PC3Z-6881-A (oil filter adapter), W503277-S439 (package of 6 bolts, 4 bolts required), W718564-S450 (stud), W520101-S442 (nut), and PC3Z-14A206-A (starter cable retaining bracket) will be needed to complete the repair.
- 10244822When replacing the transmission case on a 2020-2022 F-Super Duty equipped with a 10R140 transmission, the new service case may not come equipped with the transmission fluid leveling plug. To achieve proper transmission fluid level, a new transmission fluid pan and gasket must be installed (service part PC3Z-7A194-A). Refer to the 2023 F-Super Duty Workshop Manual, Section 307-01B to properly set the transmission fluid level when using the newer transmission fluid pan.

This may be due to the SYNC Software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the SYNC module (APIM) software.
- 10243609Some vehicles equipped with power folding mirrors may exhibit power folding mirrors that are inoperative or exhibit a clicking sound. This may be due to the mirrors being manually folded in, during transportation, going through a car wash, bumped in a parking lot, or found during pre-delivery inspection (PDI). Prior to the replacement of any components, attempt to synchronize the mirrors by following the Power Mirrors Synchronization procedure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 501-09 Rear View Mirrors - General Procedures - Power Mirrors Synchronization.

Since this is a fleet vehicle, it cannot access the (SYNC Connect) FordPass or LincolnWay app through the TCU Embedded Modem. If this message appears, the vehicle may be equipped with a fleet telematics module. Replacement of the TCU or TCU related repairs will not prevent this message from appearing. Refer the customer to in app FordPass Guides or LincolnWay Concierge Teams to aid with fleet telematics removal. Open app, select Account > Help > CHAT or CALL option.

- 10240719Some F-Super Duty and F-150 vehicles equipped with trailer tow mirror may exhibit various exterior rear view mirror functional concerns that require replacement after diagnosis. To properly determine if the defect is warrantable, cleaning and close inspection of the affected mirror may be required. To aid in proper warranty determination, the Rear-View Mirror Analysis general service bulletin (GSB) has been updated with a detailed cleaning procedure that should be followed prior to any inspection. New labor operations (17682ZZ or 17682ZZT) have been created that covers the cleaning and inspection process and may be used even if condition of failure is non-warrantable. Ford has inspected numerous returned parts and determined many cases are caused by damage which is unwarrantable and may be subject to chargeback. Refer to the latest version of the GSB on OASIS.

- 102377892011-2023 F-Super Duty and 2016-2024 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an elevated idle condition. During prolonged idle time, vehicles may experience this elevated idle to reduce unburned hydrocarbons from the SCR. The powertrain control module estimates hydrocarbon levels in the SCR and may increase idle speed to remove them. Idle speed will be increased to 1000 RPM for ambient temperatures near 26C (80F) and may increase to 1200 RPM at -40 C (-40F). Vehicles may exhibit exhaust smoke and diesel exhaust fluid smell during elevated idle condition. Exhaust smoke and smell condition will not affect reliability or durability of the engine. Power take-off (PTO) use and idle set point control will disable elevated speed. It is required that the operator monitor the vehicle and adhere to any Exhaust Filter warning messages.
- 10236685Some 2018-2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine, 2016-2022 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine, and 2017-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine and built on or before 08-Mar-2022 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P21DD, P20BA. P20B9, P204C, P208A, P208B, P208C, P203B, P205B, P21CD and/or U02A2 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to water intrusion within connectors C3613 and/or C4851/C3610 on the reductant harness going to the reductant pump/heater assembly and the reductant level sensor/quality module. This may also be due to movement of the wiring harness causing terminal fretting. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the reductant tank harness, the reductant pump/heater assembly and/or the reductant tank, as well as securing the wiring harness using a cable zip tie fastener.
- 10236684Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.2L or 7.3L engine and a 10R140 transmission may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P07F7 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and a loss of 10th gear. The vehicle may also exhibit harsh engagements and poor shift quality. This may be due to the sleeve in the CDF clutch cylinder shifting axially causing hydraulic circuit leaks. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the CDF clutch cylinder.
- 10236585Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may experience a lack of power due to snow packing of the engine air cleaner when operating in extremely snowy conditions. This may also be due to ice forming in the air intake while operating in temperatures below -22F (-30C). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P1548 may be present in the powertrain control module (PCM). To supplement heavy snow environment pre-filter service kit (service part LC3Z-9K635-AA), a front grill cover (service part NC3Z-19A413-A) is now available for service but is not a warrantable item. It is recommended that the front grill cover be removed at temperatures greater than 10F (-12C) and reinstall in subsequent winter seasons in order to maintain optimal vehicle performance.
- 10235153For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.
- 10235151Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a condition where the engine will not turn off and/or have various electrical symptoms including a dead battery, horn stays on and no crank/no start. The vehicle may also have an illuminated anti-lock braking system (ABS) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C0020 and U3003 in the ABS module. This may be a result of water/moisture intrusion into the battery junction box (BJB). The BJB is located under the hood of the vehicle. This water/moisture intrusion may be related to the BJB cover not installed completely or broken cover tabs/locking fingers allowing water/moisture into the BJB. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect for water/moisture intrusion into the BJB and replace the BJB and cover if water/moisture intrusion is found.
