For the 4th time the motor seems to die while driving down the road with no warning. Charging warnings pop up and the car does not start. Has been to dealership multiple times and never gets fixed. Chrysler told to me sue them. I don’t have the money to sue them and the cars is in drivable. Been in the dealership many times with me being left without a car for months. They won’t take it back and I still have 6 months of payments.
The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving, the center display screen intermittently froze and became inoperative. The HVAC system was inoperative in cold weather, there were intermittent abnormal sounds, the Hybrid Mode intermittently deactivated, and intermittently stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated and the message "Service Charging System" and several other unknown messages were displayed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The failure mileage was approximately 300.
Both the driver-side and passenger-side door window glass spontaneously shattered due to severe internal structural stress originating from the side-view mirror mounting brackets and window frame assembly. The passenger-side window completely failed while rolled down and housed entirely inside the steel door cavity, confirming that external impact or outside influence was physically impossible. This sudden structural failure creates a severe safety hazard, posing a risk of sudden distraction, glass fragmentation, and loss of visibility while operating the vehicle. The servicing dealer and manufacturer (Stellantis Case #98256295) were notified, but improperly refused warranty coverage and declined to perform a physical teardown of the door panels to inspect the internal mechanical binding. No warning lamps preceded the failure, and the damaged components are available for inspection upon request.
I am reporting a recurring loss/reduction of expected electric propulsion in my 2025 Jeep Wrangler Willys 4xe after FCA Safety Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 was completed. Before 68C, I routinely drove my normal route, including sustained uphill/high-load portions, in Electric mode for the full trip to/from & expending the full battery capacity. After the recall software update, electric propulsion frequently is sluggish with no acceleration. additional accelerator input does not immediately produce the expected increase in propulsion, and the vehicle then transitions to Hybrid operation with abrupt/jerky gasoline-engine engagement. After this occurs, it does not return to Electric mode until I stop, then intermittent electric. This is not simply reduced EV range. It is a loss/reduction of available electric propulsion followed by delayed gasoline-engine torque substitution, creating unpredictable acceleration during hills, merging, passing, and other situations where immediate propulsion may be safety-critical. My post-68C symptoms are materially similar to other NHTSA complaints involving Wrangler 4xe vehicles, including 11747685, 11765613, 11767648, 11768376, and 11768812. Those reports describe staged electric-power reduction, approximately 43–45 kW available output in one case, 10–15 seconds of deteriorating propulsion despite accelerator demand, Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable, delayed ICE engagement, abrupt high-RPM engine operation, and similar behavior despite substantial battery state of charge. I am not asserting my vehicle has been independently measured at 43–45 kW or that a fixed 10-second timer exists. I am reporting a substantially similar post-68C operating pattern. I request NHTSA investigate whether the 68C BPCM/HCP/AHCP/powertrain calibration can reduce allowable HV-battery discharge and delay gasoline-engine torque substitution, and whether this condition is related to Wrangler 4xe loss-of-motive-power issues evaluated under ODI RQ24012.
My complaint with Jeep/Stellantis goes far beyond dissatisfaction with a buyback amount. My family leased a new 2025 Jeep Wrangler expecting a safe vehicle, and instead we have been placed in a worse position after dealing with serious recall and safety concerns. FCA has agreed to repurchase our vehicle, yet the process requires us to continue maintaining and driving a vehicle we no longer feel safe using while waiting weeks for the repurchase to be completed. A potential vehicle-fire condition is not a cosmetic defect or minor inconvenience—it is a legitimate safety concern involving the driver, passengers, surrounding vehicles, homes, and property. My three primary concerns are: **(1) Safety:** Jeep has vehicles in customers' possession subject to serious safety recalls involving potential fire hazards, yet customers may still be left waiting for repairs or resolution. **(2) Remedy:** Even after FCA agreed to repurchase our Wrangler, the proposed financial resolution leaves us in a worse financial position and without sufficient funds to reasonably transition into a replacement vehicle. We were offered substantial compensation to keep the vehicle, but keeping a vehicle we are concerned could present a fire risk is not a reasonable solution for our family. **(3) Process:** Once a manufacturer acknowledges a serious safety issue and agrees to repurchase a vehicle, there should be an expedited process to remove that vehicle from the customer and provide a fair resolution—not weeks of additional payments, paperwork, uncertainty, and continued possession of the affected vehicle. What concerns me most is that this is bigger than our individual case. Safety recalls involving potential vehicle fires can have serious consequences, and manufacturers should treat them accordingly. Customers should not have to choose between continuing to drive a vehicle they do not feel safe in or accepting a resolution that puts them in a worse financial position. Jeep/Stellantis needs to
When I drive the in electric mode, I sometimes get a sudden loss of power and the system falls back to hybrid mode. Normally this is expected transition that is part of a plug in hybrid. Electric to Hybrid to Gas... As a alert driver, I plan for this not passing semi-trucks if I am low on electical until hybrid or hybrid to gas... The Jeep 4xe, seems to swtich AFTER I ask for more power.... this delay and hesitation is dangerous. Once example, with 35% battery, at 30 miles an hour, my neighbor was backing out of her driveway, I needed to swerve and accerate to get out of the way. When I stepped on the accerator (in electric mode)... the system seemed to stop- then the gas engine started, then it moved... This delay is dangerous and repeatable.
The Jeep 68C Recall fix severely hampered the output of the electric motor. When driving in Electric mode, or Hybrid mode after charging the electric battery, the Jeep works fine up until a point and as the driver you can feel it will reach a point where it cannot output anymore power from the electric motor. I most often hit this when trying to merge into traffic, or when going up hills. This is extremely unsafe because the Jeep will cease to output additional power and will without warning turn on the gas motor to make up the difference. This causes the gas motor to rev up to 5000+ RPMs nearly instantly with no warm up. This is unsafe because the gas motor turning on suddenly causes the overall acceleration to go from not enough to too much in the span of less than a second, often jerking the vehicle. Not only is this bad for the gas motor, it means the vehicle cannot predictably be controlled in some of these situations I mentioned (merging, hills, etc). The lack of power in the electric motor happened AFTER the 68C recall fix was applied to my Jeep. As the driver, you get to know the character of the vehicle and how it handles and accelerates. Before 68C, I never had any issue using the electric mode to merge into interstate highway traffic, now I try not to do it without first warming up the gas engine because it is extremely unsafe and unpredictable as I have explained. Before the 68C recall, this did not happen and Jeep has not explained what they did, or how they might fix this. I want the vehicle's power back which I purchased before 68C, because this is unsafe!!!
While driving the car in electric mode The car has very bad lag/hesitation while driving on the highway And when at a stop pulling out into traffic. After driving it in electric mode for approximately 8 miles. It will also feel as though it is not as powerful. I feel as though this could cause an accident from lack of power and hesitation.
My vehicle has an ongoing serious problem when in electric mode. As the battery level falls below 50% the vehicle’s fails to accelerate properly. While on the highway this causes the vehicle to reduce speed and endangers me and my family as you cannot keep up with the flow of traffic when merging or changing lanes. There are also some issues when starting the vehicle it sometimes skips the warmup cycle and idles extremely high from a cold start.
I had only been driving for maybe 4 or 5 miles on back roads. All flat, not highway speeds, most of those miles at speeds from 35-45. Encountered a small hill that is really nothing. The first symptom is that I will feel a slight hesitation in the gas pedal. You could almost mistake it for a transmission gear switch. Then shortly thereafter it's a full on hesitation and a nearly dead gas pedal. Finally it becomes the electric mode unavailable error and super high Rev on the internal combustion engine when it starts up. Ev battery has approx 75% charge. This happens almost daily and it often happens when merging on to highways too. Sudden loss of power in electric mode and suddenly an error on the dash saying "electric mode unavailable"
Windshield has developed a structural damage crack from the top center of the windshield down and across in front of the driver side.
The contact called for an acquaintance who owned a 2025 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in the driveway, a neighbor saw black smoke coming from the vehicle. The neighbor called the authorities first and then called the contact, who was not at the residence during the failure. The vehicle caught on fire, and the neighbor alerted the occupants inside the residence about the fire. The Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. The fire burned several trees in the yard and damaged the concrete in the driveway. A fire report was filed. The remnant of the vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and deemed a total loss.
My Jeep is in limp mode and won’t go further than a mile before the power steering shuts down and the vehicle won’t move. I bought the vehicle used in March 2026 and took it to a local dealership to have the blind spot monitor system looked at and I was never made aware of any recalls. & now I will probably have to tow my vehicle out of pocket to the dealership to have it fixed.
Purchased vehicle in question on 9/11/25 as a lease through the local Jeep dealership near my residence. Sometime around 4/26 to 5/26 my vehicle started to display odd operational patterns which were brought to my local dealerships attention. The first event where I was able to record any type of documentation was around 5/25/26. While driving, the vehicle would suddenly go into "limp mode" and rapidly decrease speed. Several check engine lights would appear to include: Service Electronic Throttle Control, Service Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control and the standard CEL. When this does happen, the vehicle will decrease speed suddenly without warning and becomes difficult to operate until it is pulled over and parked. Vehicle has been to my local dealership several times (4) and out of service for over 70 days with the latest stay 30+ days. According to documentation from the dealership, the listed error/issue has been recreated on their end at least one time but no data was captured with that fail. My local Jeep dealership Service Manager (CF) replied to an email of mine (7/16/26 at 1703) with the following statement: Verified customer concern of check engine light on connect to wytec and found p2173 stored in powertrain control module. Also found c121c stored in ABS module. Believe ABS code is related to PCM code, cleared codes test drove multiple times. Finally able to get customer concern to duplicate but no data was captured on this failure. We are continuing to drive the vehicle while monitoring data to catch freeze frame data while concern occurs but have not been able to do so far at this time. The condition, when it occurs presents a serious safety concern for the driver and other drivers as it will cause a sever throttle limitation and can cause the vehicle to slow down rapidly. As of 8/9/26, no fix confirmed for my vehicle and the dealership and manufacture are pushing to return my vehicle with confirmed fix. Jeep case number 97378351
As I was driving a service electronic stability control came up on my dash and I lost control of the vehicle. The brakes did not work and it was hard to steer. I almost hit a vehicle and the Jeep kept rolling until it stopped. Then I received an alert that the brakes did system, anti lock brake system, and Electronic Stability System failure. This is very scary my vehicle is a lease and they say they are fixing it but I’m very scared I will lose control of my Jeep while I’m driving.
Windshield spontaneously cracked from lower edge in an arc back to lower edge. No impact. No debris. Gorilla glass with electronics.
The 12-volt auxiliary battery and related electrical system in my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4XE plug-in hybrid (leased new 8/25/2025) repeatedly fail. The battery completely discharges after the vehicle sits plugged into a standard home charger, undisturbed, for several consecutive days, leaving the vehicle completely inoperable. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and is currently at a dealership. Failures to date (5): 11/05/2025: found dead after charging; required jump start. No warning lamps or messages precede the discharge events; the vehicle is simply dead when approached. 01/26/2026: dead after charging; would not jump start; towed. Dealer replaced the 12V battery and performed recall 68C software. 04/27/2026: check engine light illuminated while driving and the vehicle became stuck in electric mode; it would not switch to hybrid, gas, or E-save despite attempts, and a restart did not resolve it; towed. Dealer could not reproduce the fault. 05/17/2026: dead after charging; towed. 12V battery replaced a second time (same part number) and media hub replaced; vehicle was dead again at dealer pickup. 06/13/2026: dead after charging (plugged in undisturbed 6/9 to 6/13); towed. Tow operator noted the rear tires dragged during loading. Dealer/manufacturer confirmation: dealers have observed and documented the dead-battery condition multiple times, including a vehicle dead at pickup, but no dealer has reproduced the underlying failure or confirmed a root cause across five repair visits and approximately 56 cumulative days out of service as of 7/6/2026. The manufacturer's customer care team is engaged; it suspects a parasitic electrical draw, and the dealer is awaiting specialized test equipment. No police or insurance inspection. Safety risk: inability to leave electric mode while driving with the check engine light active; repeated complete electrical failures stranding occupants; an undiagnosed electrical draw in a plug-in hybrid that charges overnigh
While driving my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe in normal conditions, the vehicle unexpectedly loses electric drive power. Power is reduced in stages — to approximately 50%, then 25% — then electric mode is disabled and the dash displays "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable," after which the vehicle forces into hybrid operation after a delay. During the delay, the vehicle does not deliver the power requested by the accelerator. This has occurred at 41%, 73%, and 81% battery state of charge during normal driving, with no wide-open-throttle demand — conditions under which the manufacturer's specification states electric power should continue. This is a loss of drive power. The manufacturer's own recall A7C (NHTSA campaign 25V710000) identifies a software error that may result in loss of drive power in these vehicles, and states that a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. My vehicle exhibits this condition but is not included in that recall population, which raises a question of whether the recall scope covers all affected vehicles. Safety risk: unexpected loss of drive power during normal driving — including when merging, crossing intersections, or pulling into traffic — creates a delay in which the vehicle does not respond to the accelerator as expected. Reproduced by the dealer: dealership service personnel personally experienced the loss of electric propulsion during a test drive, and the condition was also reproduced on a second 4xe vehicle at the dealership. In all cases, no diagnostic trouble codes were present, no repair was performed, and the vehicle was returned as "operating as designed." A neutral arbitrator in the manufacturer's warranty arbitration found that a nonconformity exists with a propulsion issue on the vehicle. The condition has not been properly diagnosed because I am unable to obtain the diagnostic measurement I have requested. The manufacturer's case manager has stated that warranty coverage for diagnostic testing cannot be confirmed
Water pump failure, with 12,540
When driving on the highway the jeep would not accelerate. At about 60mph no matter how far I pushed the petal down it would only maintain speed. It happened again going much slower on local streets.
Spitzer Motors performed NHTSA safety recall 68 C on my vehicle. The dealer refuses to provide HV Battery State of Health percentage. Dealer told me to go to Don Nester Autogroup instead. Jeep Wave case number 96929145 was opened. The representative refused to escalate the case and was I advised to contact the dealer. Dealer did not cooperate. Jeep Wave was contacted again and the representative suggested contacting the dealer again and to call back with the case if unresolved. Representative refused to give CSI survey. The case remained unresolved and Jeep wave was contacted again. Case number 96929145 was prematurely closed. I was not notified about the case closure. There was no resolution. A new case was opened, number 97058705 to hide history. Representative advised to take the car to the dealer and pay for proper diagnosis. Representative refused to provide the CSI survey. Sale was 26 days ago and no survey was sent. The survey window closes at the 30 day mark. Dealer appears to not have reported the sale to avoid CSI. This violates NHTSA policy that recall inspections and documentation are free. Stella it’s/Jeep Wave is telling the consumer to pay for recall compliance.
My wife took are jeep in for first inspection and the service technician found cracks between the tread on all 4 tires, the tires have 5600 miles, the service technician recommended new tires,I questioned why I should buy new tires when the nexen roadian HTX2 tires have a 70000 mile warranty,C Harper Jeep in connellsville Pa said nothing could be done even though they sent me a video of the cracks,to me it a safety hazard Roadian HTX2 my wife took the vehicle back and they took more pictures and said they sent them to you, what can be done about this 245/75/17. I can't park in my garage, and I don't even save on gas—even though I have solar panels—because I can't charge the car due to the fire risk.
On June 1, 2026, software update 68C was performed at the dealership on my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. On June 6, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., after driving the vehicle for about 25 minutes, I experienced a serious malfunction. While making a turn at a speed of less than 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly and without warning lost throttle and propulsion. It appeared to hesitate as though shifting between electric and gasoline power, and then abruptly and erratically lurched forward, accelerating to what felt like maximum speed. The Jeep struck a chain-link fence, which slowed its movement, but it continued to surge forward. I applied the brakes and attempted to maintain control of the vehicle, but it kept lurching ahead. At no point did the vehicle emit a safety warning, sound an alert, or attempt to stop automatically, even though it normally responds to obstacles when operating properly. I repeatedly attempted to place the vehicle in reverse, but it did not respond. I turned the engine off and back on several times, and only after more than three attempts did the vehicle finally recognize reverse, allowing me to back away from the fence. A man in a truck assisted me and contacted the police. Both the responding police officer and the assisting individual expressed concern about the potential danger, particularly because the vehicle is a 4xe. I am now extremely hesitant and fearful to operate or move the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection and has not been inspected yet by dealership or insurance. I have it parked outside of my residence.
I was driving vehicle on interstate when sudden loss of power took place. I immediately pulled off the road and we smelled smoke. Fire was coming out of engine compartment near passenger wheel. We immediately exited the vehicle and assisted our young children out of the back seat. Within seconds the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. If we were not able to immediately pull off the road and assist our children, we could have all been severely injured or killed.
