7 recalls name the 2006 Nissan Titan. Newest first.
Nissan IS recalling certain model year 2004-2006 armada, titan, infiniti QX56 and model year 2005-2006 frontier, pathfinder and xterra vehicles. the intelligent power distribution module (ipdm) assembly contains an engine control module (ecm) relay that has a diode for electrical current noise reduction. The ecm relay may allow silicon vapor to form and…
This could cause engine stalling increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the ecm relay inside the ipdm assembly. This service will be performed free of charge. the safety recall began on december 6, 2010. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
Nissan IS recalling certain front and rear lower links, p/nos. 54501Zq00a, 54500zq00a, 551a1zq00a, 551a0zq00a , 54501ea00a, 54500ea00a, 551a1ea500, 551a0ea500, 54501zr00a, and 54500zr00a, sold between november 25, 2009 and may 14, 2010 as replacement parts for model year 2004 through 2010 titan, armada, and QX56, and model years 2005 through 2010 frontier…
If the collar weld separates, the vehicle handling will deteriorate, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
Nissan will notify owners and dealers will replace any affected lower link free of charge. the safety recall began on july 12, 2010. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
Nissan IS recalling certain model year 2005-2009 titan, armada, and infiniti QX56 vehicles. the instrument panel fuel gauge may inaccurately display that the vehicle still has some fuel, typically about one quarter tank, when the fuel tank IS empty.
This could cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall on the highway, which could cause a crash.
Dealers will replace the fuel sender unit inside the fuel tank with a new improved sender card. this service will be performed free of charge. the safety recall began on march 22, 2010. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
Nissan IS recalling 180,664 my 2005-2006 titan, armada and infinity QX56 vehicles manufactured after march 17, 2005, that are equipped with a visteon air conditioning condenser fan motor. The fan motor may not be properly sealed allowing excessive water intrusion and inadequate drainage of moisture.
This could cause corrosion in the motor leading possibly to overheating and a fire.
Dealers will install a 'thermal protector kit' and test the air conditioning condenser fan motor and replace it if necessary. the recall began on august 2, 2008. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
Certain hopkins aftermarket trailer brake control connection harnesses sold for use on certain models of nissan vehicles which are listed above. the internal part numbers within hopkins are: 1010476025, 1040376025, 1110476025, 1170376025, 1290376025, 1010476035, 1040376035, 1110476035, 1170376035, and 1290376035. a wire may have been placed in an…
This harness would result in power from the trailer brake controller going to the towing vehicle dash light circuit rather than the trailer brakes. this result would be the lack of trailer braking when the towing vehicle brakes were applied. it would also result in the towing vehicles dash lights being activated when the vehicle brakes were applied. the failure of the application of the trailer brake could result in reduced ability to stop and contribute to a possible crash.
Hopkins will notify owners and replace the original harness with a revised harness free of charge. the recall began august 17, 2007. owners can contact hopkins at 800-835-0129.
On certain king cab trucks, the wires in the harness were routed through the rear doors and into the body. these wires may break due to over bending of the harness as the door IS opened and closed. the harness contains wires for the driver seat belt pretensioner and for the front passenger seat belt which IS part of the occupant classification system.…
If the wires for the seat belts and speaker wires break and make contact, there IS a possibility that the pretensioner may deploy. if this happens when the seat belt IS retracted, it will not be possible to use the seat belt. if one of the wires on the right side harness for the seat belt tension sensor breaks, the passenger side front air bag will not deploy as designed in a frontal collision increasing the risk of a crash and personal injury.
Dealers will replace the wire harness cover with a different type that prevents over bending of the harness and the harness will be rerouted free of charge. the recall began on february 19, 2007. owners may contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
Certain light trucks fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 206, "door locks and door retention components." an arc weld IS missing on some right side rear door upper latch assemblies.
This may result in the right side doors coming partially open increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
Dealers will replace the upper latch assembly free of charge. the recall began on april 3, 2006. owners may contact nissan at 800-662-6200.
Window regulator and window assembly keep failing
My vehicle, which I bought used with about 140,000 miles on it had cracked exhaust manifolds, which I replaced. Both were cracked and one actually fell to pieces when unbolted. One replacement cracked after about 15,000 miles, but was able to have it braised. Now, at about 180,000 miles they a spewing carbon monoxide into the cab again. This is a serious health and safety issue, and from checking Titan club web sites, it seems to be a widespread issue. I DO NOT DRIVE OFF ROAD OR SUBJECT THE TRUCK TO ABNORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. I appreciate your time and consideration. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

So back in October 2023 ,I noticed a lot of things go wrong at once lime the radiator had to be replaced because it was leaking everywhere. The steering went bad and started leaking. The rear main seal started leaking. The clock spring went bad. there isntons of water always in the passenger floorboard and passenger door. The fuel gauge is all over the place and never reads right. The oil pressure gauge always has been on high. The engine light, air bag light slip light, and abs light have always been on. The right rear window stopped going up and the controls on the drivers door sometimes work and sometimes don't. The Manuel shifter has never worked and I cannot put the transmission in 2,3, or 4th gear from a stand still. Always been weird knocking sound in the suspension
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23E012000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available for older vehicles. The local dealer was contacted and stated that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Truck stalled in the middle of the road due to fuel gauge sending unit failing to send correct info on how much gas was actually in the tank. It shows approx 1/4 tank of gas no matter how much gas it actually contains. Recall id: 10V074000
Noticed electrical burning smell outside the previous day but could not find the source. In the morning found that the front, passenger door had caught fire and smoldered all night long burning to a crisp. Not sure the cause. The truck was last driven on Friday and sat all weekend until the problem was discovered Monday morning. The truck still runs and as far as I can tell everything except the speaker in the door is working and the passenger power seat which was also slightly burnt.
These units are being sold at various retailers and deceptively marketed. I purchased one with the warning label defaced. The listing stated it was a bStock item due to cosmetic damage otherwise fully functional. It was only after receiving it did I find the truth of the 2 NHTSA recalls in 2019. https://bigjeffaudio.com/products/open-box-ioxus-12v-group-31-smart-power-bluetooth-car-audio-ultra-capacitor After I brought it to their attention and a little convincing, did they add the disclaimer at the bottom of the listing. To be transparent I purchased the same item, through that specific vendor on eBay. I did capture the listing before they added the disclaimer. Ultimately they refunded the purchase and I sent the item back. The photos explicitly omit the "warning" that has large print ultracapacitor and small print, "follow this link to the the actual warning" Going further the manufacturer went as far as to post a video of an employee throwing the battery, showing that it is completely safe and instructs the viewer to hit up a distributor and go buy one now. I have captured that as well https://youtu.be/-EMm-z_WcPY As I understand it these have been sold for over a year. Big Jeff audio just added a disclaimer. It is one thing to inform the customer and quite another to sell to an unsuspecting person.
The contact's son owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while his son was driving approximately 35-45 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The contact was unsure whether there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact's son was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to Pep Boys and diagnosed the failure as a vehicle dynamic control switch, acceleration, and power train systems failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the instrument cluster had failed. The dealer was not notified of the failures. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in any recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 153,000.
The part that failed was the delta stroke sensor i was coming home from the store and suddenly I noticed the brake light came on and when I pressed the brakes it made a grinding noise like it was trying to lock the brakes so it was almost impossible to stop
I have had to replace my transfer case 2 times, my front drive side hub assembly 2 times in less than 2 years. I have replace front axle and and rear. Now my passenger side leaks out from under the glove box every time it rains into my floor keeping it wet. Just yesterday my transmission went itno limp mode and I know it can be a number of things . I look at the 04 thru 07 titans and they have a lot of issues like have but haven't listed them all, but the issues iam having are not on recall list for my 2006, but are for the other years??? this IS my only vehicle and I can't afford to keep dropping $ into it. Back driver window motor stopped and window fell and broke, manifold ticking IS a recall for the 2005, but not my 2006. I could keep going but I am getting so frustrated. I was going down the road at about 45 mhp when it just went into limp mode, so I pulled over turned it off and back on then it would work for about 3 min. Stop do it again to get home. It will go into gear, and the rpm's rev and go up ,but I am not getting very far at all. My trans fluid IS good. I have also replaced the throttle position sensor. All fuses are good and codes reset and it still goes limp mode.
TL* the contact owns a 2006 nissan titan. The contact stated while idling, the front of vehicle caught fire. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to extinguish the vehicle with a fire hydrant his neighbor provided at the moment. A fire department did file a report. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The vin was associated to nhtsa campaign number: 10v517000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Airbag light IS constantly flashing and nothing on the steering wheel works. Cruise control, volume for the radio, mode select and etc. This seems to be a common issue after looking at other forums with nissan titan owners complaints.
Rear axle seal fails and causes differential oil to leak out causing a major safety issue while driving.
Brake light will come on and brakes will grind and crunch when trying to stop. After shutting of and restarting vehichle the problem will go away temporarily.
Manifold crack
I think it was in 2009 when I took my vehicle to nissan to check engine light and light smoke out of exhaust. Ran diagnostic and found out that catalytic converters broke up and broken material went back (suckback) into engine and damaged piston rings which was causing it to smoke. Told me I needed to replace engine cause it was pretty much no good. This truck was 3 yrs. Old at the time. Warranty was out and was and cost me a fortune to replace engine and exhaust system. I had no idea til now how many 2006 titan owners have had the same issue. This has to be recalled.
My airbag did not deploy after being involved in an incident. There IS ongoing electrical issues with shorting out battery overnight when radio IS connected. Nissan removed fuse and can't locate the electrical issue. Condenser fan has gone out.
Overheated, engine would not start, transmission would not shift to go mostly sluggish. this IS my 3RD time titan overheated, had to be towed.
When in motion, vehicle brakes occasionally fail. Dynamic control off light, brake light, and slip light turn on at same time that brake pedal loses all resistance and IS easily pushed all the way to the floor. Brake power significantly reduced and need to be actively pumped to slow down and come to a stop. At a stop, vehicle can be turned off and back on then warning all lights will go off and brakes operate as normal. dangerous situation when attempting to slow down, especially at higher speeds. Occurs 6-7 times per year.
TL* the contact owns a 2006 nissan titan. The contact stated that the electrical warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 06v459000 (electrical system) by henderson nissan (295 auto mall dr, henderson, NV 89014, (702) 558-5800); however, the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the electrical warning indicator remained illuminated after the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Wire harness for the rear power slider (behind the rear seat) caught on fire. Fire marshall said it was a faulty wire harness. Caught our carseats and the entire cab, and bed on fire. Vehicle was off, parked and vacant when the fire was visible, but only for 10 minutes, so it may have started when it on, and wasn't visible right away.
My truck has been showing p0335 code issues, which IS crankshaft sensor, which has been replaced, my rpm's jump/sputter but the truck stars & runs but feels like its running rough, also I forgot to mention that my dashboards "slip" light remains on... and the biggest problem with it IS that, no "professionals" seem to know what it IS, nor have they been able to fogure it out as of yet.
Radiator fluid mixing with transmission fluid via internal cooler in radiator causing vehicle to stop moving although motor functioning properly.
Rear end locked up and had to be replaced. over the years, the rear seals would constantly leak and were replaced multiple times and was usually brought to my attention during oil changes/inspections. I guess they didnt catch it leaking and caused my rear end to lock up which was very dangerous and could have caused a major accident. I was heading to work around 4-5 am in the morning and all my lights on my truck came on kind of felt like I blew a tire and started pulling very hard. I was able to get off the road rather quickly and had it towed. I know plenty of people that have had this issues with the early model nissan titans. besides that though I have been pleased with my titan. I have over 500K miles on it currently. fyi this happened years back but I was reading a forum that we should try to get this recalled and it did cost me alot to have the rear end fixed.
NHTSA’s Office of Defects Investigation opened these reviews into vehicles including this one.
On may 30, 2008, the office of defects investigation (odi) opened a preliminary evaluation based on consumer complaints alleging that smoke and/or fire erupted in the engine compartment of model year (my) 2005-2006 nissan armada and titan vehicles.by letter dated june 24, 2008, nissan notified the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa) that it will conduct a safety recall (nhtsa #08v284) for my2005-2006 nissan titan, armada and infiniti QX56 vehicles manufactured from march 17, 2005 to august 21, 2006 that are equipped with a 90-watt air conditioning condenser fan.the recall involves approximately 180,664 vehicles.this also includes approximately 5,689 subject condenser fans, some of which may have been installed in my2004 and pre-march 17, 2005 my nissan titan, armada or infiniti QX56 vehicles as a service replacement part.nissan dealers will install a special thermal protector kit on existing fans that will eliminate the potential for a fire to occur.nissan north america, inc. (Nissan) informed odi that the 90-watt air conditioning condenser fan was manufactured out-of-specification allowing for excessive water intrusion and inadequate drainage of moisture that may accumulate in the motor as a result of water intrusion or condensation.if sufficient moisture accumulates in the motor without adequate drainage, corrosion may occur.the corrosion can cause an increase in internal friction and an increase in the electrical current draw, resulting in an increase in the temperature of the motor that could melt its wiring insulation and other plastic components and form a gas.if two wires without insulation touch each other and create a spark, this gas could ignite and result in a fire.the action taken by nissan IS sufficient to resolve the issue raised by this investigation.accordingly, this investigation IS closed.
