As I was merging on freeway, I experienced sudden loss of power and it could have resulted in fatalities since it was at rush hour. as I pulled over, the engine was bucking but regained power with sporadic bouts of loss during my drive home. there was a misfire on cylinder one and I replaced and tested all related components and then found out it was the cam phaser issue that plagues the triton engine. from reading other comments from both consumer and repair shop owners, it IS simply a defective product from who else, the ford corp. of course they blame the owner for lack of maintenance.
- Air bags
While traveling 50 mph in the lincoln, another driver attempted to make an illegal left turn in front of the navigator resulting in immediate severe collision. The front impact destroyed the front end of the lincoln, and also caused it to spin 180 degress resulting in a second collision with the at fault driver. The driver airbag did not deploy and resulted in severe injury to the driver.

These spark plugs should be replaced due to defects from manufacture, and the recall only wants to pay $1,040 for the replacement of the spark plugs, why should I pay up front if they are manufacture fault and my navigator only has 60,00 miles now and I purchased it new from the dealer in 2005.

Engine starts to knock an shake very loudly while coming to a complete stop from simply driving 45mph or it completely lloses all power as I'm driving an a loud poppig explosions coming from the exhuast an they are loud enough were people hehhave pulled up next to me to let me know an afraid the car may blow up. Air suspension dose not come on when it's cold an drives very poorly an misleading to other drivers an law enforcement since I've been pulled over for possible dui because the car IS all over the place an jumpy. The radio cuts in an out as I drive, the cruise control doesn't work. I've taken it to 3 different mechanics they all say the same thing take it to the dealer because they can't seem to figure it out. So I took it to galpin lincoln in van nuys, ca on roscoe blvd an sepulveda an they just found one fuel injector needing replaced an wanted me to $2,500 for labor alone to completely open up my engine an see if it could possibly be the timing chain an realine the camshafts but they are not certain that's actually the problem with my navigator because they can completely do all that an come up to be fine an be something else but unless I pay $2,500 for labor to just see if it IS an have the chance it could not be I still lose those $2,500 because it's a non refundable. Where am I going to come up with that kind of money not alone why am I having to pay that first to see if it's a maybe the reason of all my car problems. Honestly that IS ridiculous an not going to pay that kind of money on a maybe answer not a 100 percent we are sure that's the problem. Something needs to give an heaven forbid my car does blow up with my son's in the car driving it just because I needed to pay that amount on a maybe answer IS un called for.

Our 05 lincoln navigator we just purchased about 7-8 months ago. the retractable running boards broke on the driver side rear in the swiveling bushing area. the structure cracked and would not hold it up. I got told there are no parts available for this and its $3,000.00 for a new running board. I am super upset, especially because I purchased this vehicle for my wife's daycare, and while one of the children stepped up on it, it broke; therefore they fell on the ground twisting their ankle. I can't afford to spend $3K on a new running board. I think its insane that there IS not replacement parts for this. I cant get the kids in and out on the driver side now. I am so upset. why hasn't someone fixed this. Sounds like it happens to all of them in this year range. No one can afford to fix them. *tr

TL* the contact owns a 2005 lincoln navigator. The contact stated both running boards on the left and right side of the vehicle were covered with rust and corroded. The running boards retract in and out in order to climb into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who removed the running boards but did not repair the vehicle due to the repair cost which was over $2000. The manufacturer was contacted and stated the reason for the rust and corrosion was due to the contact living in a salt state and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 72,000. the consumer stated it looked as if the metal used was a mild steel plate on 1/8 inch thick and the running boards have rusted away completely. the metal used to make the running boards was not sufficiently strong for normal use nor had it been protected from corrosion. updated 09/27/11 updated 9/19/11 *cn updated 2/23/12 *cn

Technical service bulletins and other communications the manufacturer sent dealers about this vehicle. Ask a dealer for the full document by its number.
- 11005305This article supersedes TSB 22-2219 to update the Parts List and Service Procedure to clarify applicable steps by vehicle application. Some 2003-2020 Expedition/Navigator and 2006-2020 F-150 (non-Raptor) vehicles equipped with 4WD may exhibit grinding/clicking/ratcheting noise from the front wheel area. This may be due to partial engagement of the integrated wheel ends (IWE). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to remove and cap the vacuum supply line or to reprogram the transfer case control module (TCCM) and replace any worn vacuum and/or IWE components.
- 10243490When performing any transmission fluid changes or topoffs involving MERCON SP, MERCON LV has replaced all versions of MERCON SP and can be used going forward. Mixing MERCON LV and MERCON SP in the same transmission is acceptable. After 30-Jun-2023, MERCON SP ATF will no longer be manufactured and will only be available until inventory depletes.
- 10235153For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

This may be due to partial engagement of the integrated wheel ends (IWE). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to remove and cap the vacuum supply line.
- 10177863This article supersedes TSB 19-2026 to update the vehicle model years affected. Some 2000 and newer Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles equipped with aluminum body panels may exhibit corrosion concerns appearing as bubbled and/or peeling paint with or without accompanying white dust. Panel replacement is recommended.

- 10143079Various vehicles equipped with a 4.6L, 5.4L, 6.8L modular 3 valve engine built on or before 8-Jan-2016 may exhibit symptoms that may include upper end engine noise, rough running, misfire and/or engine damage. If diagnosis leads to only camshaft/camshaft roller follower(s) requiring replacement, replace all of the camshaft roller followers on both banks/cylinder heads with part number 3L3Z-6564-A, not just the faulty roller follower(s). When replacing the camshaft roller followers, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-01.
- 10109070The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
- 10109021When ordering a 2005 to 2008 remanufactured 5.4L 3v or 6.8L 3v engine, spark plug boots may be provided in the packaging. Replace all black spark plug boots from the original engine with the 'brown' spark plug boots, as provided. The updated 'brown' spark plug boots are longer than the black boots to accommodate a running change in the spark plug length. The ignition coil bodies and spring/resistor are transferable and only the rubber boots require replacement. Failure to install the spark plug boots provided with the replacement engine could lead to drivability concerns.
