The headlights will suddenly shut off. I have to turn the dial to make them come back on. We have replaced every bulb in the headlight assembly with OEM recommended bulbs which are $75 a piece for the main headlight and this still happens. There is no cause we can find and I have read about other cases in my area. With the same year as my navigator. I almost recieved a ticket until I showed the officer my lights work that they just keep doing this. The electrical issues on this year is ridiculous and I guess someone needs to die for Ford to fix it.

Brake lines started leaking and spewing fluid everywhere leaving me with out brakes on the highway. I just put new rotors, and brake pads on and they suddenly start grinding again yet have full pads on them.

About 30 minutes prior when I used a button to open the automatic hydraulic tailgate it.kept closing and wouldnt stay open. So we used the glass window hatch upon arrival to my home it exploded and shot up into the air. The car was staionary in my driveway. TL* the contact owns a 2010 lincoln navigator. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle shook when the brake pedal was depressed, which made it harder to come to a complete stop. The contact stated that this was an ongoing failure ever since the vehicle was purchased seven years ago. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the brakes and rotors were changed several times approximately every 4,000 miles. Autonation ford fort lauderdale (1333 n federal hwy, fort lauderdale, fl 33304 (954) 644-5015) stated that the rotors was a known failure with ford vehicles. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing and repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage and vin were unknown.

She was driving at 75 mph with the cruise control on, when all four brakes locked up as to throw the vehicle into park going highway speed down interstate 35 around 30 miles north of dallas where they have major road construction. She had the where-with-all to put on the hazard lights, barely keeping the car on the road from the skid it was sent into, and barely avoiding being hit by other oncoming vehicles traveling at 70-80mph. Once the brakes let up, she was at approximately 35mph and had no acceleration when she pressed on the gas to try and get off the highway, the engine didn't rev or acceleratethere were no shoulders and she coasted forward into a small construction area. the engine then completely disengaged from the drive train, the engine was running but wouldn't accelerate, and fortunately the vehicles behind her swerved to avoid her.after diagnostics by randall reed ford/lincoln dealership, it was determined that the mechatronic had failed. To repair this part would be $2,200.00. They also told us if the transmission was corrupted due to this failure, we would have to purchase another transmission for $5,400.00 in addition to the mechatronic purchase. The care center said they would provide $2K toward a transmission. Failure occurred 2K miles past the 70 mile warranty.

TL* the contact owned a 2010 lincoln navigator. The contact stated that while the vehicle was on, there was an abnormal noise. The contact exited the vehicle and when entering back inside the vehicle, there was a loud grounding noise and immediately the vehicle started to roll backwards over an embankment and crashed into a creek. A police report was filed and there were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was hauled out of the creek by a large truck and towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was deemed destroyed by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000. The vin was not available.

The running boards of the 2010 lincoln navigator malfunctioned at 78000 miles. The automatic running boards began retracting and lowering up and down while vehicle IS in motion (at speeds from to 70 mph) and while completely stopped with engine off, making loud grinding sounds. Upon exiting the vehicle on the drivers side the running board retracted while my right foot was still on the board, locking my foot in between the running board and the lower body of the vehicle causing me to fall forward on the pavement in my driveway which IS on a semi-steep incline. The running board lowered and I pulled my foot free and it began to lower and raise multiple times making a loud grinding noise. I then had to manually raise the board and shut off the auto function of the running boards to keep this issue from reoccurring. I notified this incident to the local ford dealer and was told that the only option I had was to replace the motors. I was not informed why this may have occurred nor was I given any options for medical care or concern due to my vehicle being 5 years old and not under any extended warranty.

The contact mentioned that the steel bracket had rubbed a hole onto the auxiliary supply tube. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the auxiliary supply tube needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

The keys were not in the ignition when the vehicle crashed into a tractor with a snow blade attached, that was being used by the contact. there were no injuries. A police report was not filed. The contact stated that the snow blade stopped the vehicle. There was front end damage to the vehicle. the vehicle was checked by the dealer and they were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired but he received an estimate of $1,611.88 from the dealer to repair it. The failure and current mileages were 27,371. updated 03/08/11 *bf updated 12/19/11 *cn

- 11005305This article supersedes TSB 22-2219 to update the Parts List and Service Procedure to clarify applicable steps by vehicle application. Some 2003-2020 Expedition/Navigator and 2006-2020 F-150 (non-Raptor) vehicles equipped with 4WD may exhibit grinding/clicking/ratcheting noise from the front wheel area. This may be due to partial engagement of the integrated wheel ends (IWE). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to remove and cap the vacuum supply line or to reprogram the transfer case control module (TCCM) and replace any worn vacuum and/or IWE components.
- 10254138All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

- 10164508Some 2010-2020 vehicles may exhibit distorted glass with a subtle orange peel pattern or streaking etched into the surface. This is caused by hydrofluoric acid which is used in some car wash solutions as a cleaning agent. Hydrofluoric acid can attack the glass and cause visual distortion and/or discoloration on the outer surface which cannot be removed by further cleaning. If this type of distortion is found, inspect the area of the glass that is covered by the cowl and/or molding. The portion of glass that is covered by the cowl or molding will not be affected by the acid. Hydrofluoric acid damage is not a defect in material or workmanship and is not a warrantable condition.

Use pigtail harness service part numbers 3U2Z-14S411-ZEA or CU2Z-14S411-FA, as both parts are interchangeable. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 5 for recommended splicing procedures.
- 10160931On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.

As of an update released on 1/15/2018 Spotify will no longer be supporting their AppLink integration. No repair attempts should be attempted to correct this concern.
- 10127405Some vehicles may exhibit a no start condition with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and a DTC P161A after PCM replacement. This may be due to the parameter reset procedure not being properly completed. To clear this DTC, use the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software, select - Toolbox - Body - Security - PATS Functions - Parameter Reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure. This procedure will transfer the existing Key ID information between the modules without the need of having 2 programmed PATS keys present. There is no need to program keys when the PCM is going to be replaced. Additional information can be found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-01. Missing or lost keys are not warrantable.
- 10109070The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
- 100994632009-2017 vehicles equipped with a 6R80, 6r100, 6r140 automatic transmission have an updated main control valve body overhaul procedure. Refer to workshop manual (wsm), section 307-01 for main control valve body (7a100) overhaul procedures. Not all valve bodies require replacement. Inspect the valve body bores, springs and valves as directed during diagnosis and repair. Refer to general service bulletin (gsb) g0000093 automatic transmission main control inspection for a video clip to aid in the diagnosis of these repairs.

Starting in 2015 not all sync equipped vehicles support vhr, refer to the owners manual for vhr operation.
