The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

Risk
A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V270. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 8, 2025.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2018 F-150, Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The brake master cylinder may allow brake fluid to leak from the front wheel circuit into the brake booster.

A brake fluid leak can cause reduced brake function and extend the distance required to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder. If the master cylinder is leaking, the brake booster will also be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 25, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S37. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 22V-150.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The LED logo lights on the exterior mirrors may short circuit.

An electrical short circuit in the exterior mirror increases the risk of fire.
Remedy
Dealers will disconnect the LED light wires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 27, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S08.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The front blower motor located behind the glove box may fail.

Front blower motor failure can increase the risk of a vehicle interior fire.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the front blower motor assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 4, 2023. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the second quarter of 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S56.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2017 Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, and 2016-2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with 3.5L Ecoboost engines. The brake master cylinder may allow brake fluid to leak from the front wheel circuit into the brake booster.
Risk and remedy
Risk
A loss of brake fluid may result in a change in brake pedal travel, increased pedal effort and reduced front brake function, requiring greater effort and distance to stop the vehicle. These conditions can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder. If the master cylinder is leaking, the brake booster will also be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. An interim owner notification letter notifying customers of the safety defect were mailed on April 29, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2022. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall number 20V-332. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S11.

NHTSA Complaint — 2017 Lincoln Navigator Output Speed Sensor / Lead Frame Vehicle: 2017 Lincoln Navigator 4WD Transmission: 6R80 6-speed automatic Component: Transmission — Output Shaft Speed Sensor / Internal Lead Frame Current Mileage: 219,000 Complaint description: I am filing this complaint regarding a recurring transmission-related problem with my 2017 Lincoln Navigator. The vehicle has experienced intermittent loss of the vehicle speed signal, and the speedometer will suddenly drop to zero while driving. The vehicle has also experienced intermittent wrench/limp-mode symptoms and abnormal transmission behavior. The vehicle was diagnosed with diagnostic trouble code P0722, Output Shaft Speed Sensor “A” No Signal. The output speed sensor is incorporated into the transmission’s internal lead-frame assembly rather than being a simple externally accessible sensor. This problem is concerning because the loss of the output speed signal can affect transmission operation, shifting, vehicle speed information, and potentially cause the vehicle to enter a failsafe/limp mode while driving. The problem has occurred while driving and can create a safety concern, particularly when traveling at highway speeds. I am concerned that the internal lead-frame/output-speed-sensor design may be prone to failure and that owners may be required to perform a significant transmission repair to replace a sensor that can cause a loss of vehicle speed information and transmission control. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate complaints involving the 6R80 transmission output speed sensor/lead-frame assembly in 2017 Lincoln Navigators and other Ford/Lincoln vehicles using this transmission to determine whether there is a safety-related defect or pattern of premature failure. I am submitting this complaint so that the problem is documented and considered as part of any investigation or safety action involving this component.

The contact owned a 2017 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that while traveling at 40 MPH, the vehicle struck the front passenger side of another vehicle that made an illegal U-turn at a higher rate of speed. The vehicle spun out and came to a stop after crashing into a bus occupied by children. No air bags deployed, and the contact believed the air bags should have deployed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. Two individuals were injured. The contact was driving and sustained injuries to the head, neck, shoulders, knees, legs, chest, right elbow, right arm, and internal bruising from the seat belt. The other person sustained unknown injuries. Medical attention was required for the injuries sustained. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that upon start of the vehicle, both the "Hill Start" and "Service AdvanceTrac" warning messages appeared on the instrument panel. The steering wheel had become stiff as a result of the failure and the contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle home. The contact initially assumed the failure was related to battery; however, after replacing the vehicle's battery, the failure persisted. The contact then called the dealer who informed him the failure was likely related to the steering rack. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 162,000.

The vehicle has a severe brake fluid leak. There is a recall for the issue. I called the local Lincoln dealership Ford Mill Lincoln SC and they said there was nothing they could do. I explained to them that there was a safety recall. They refused to fix the vehicle under the recall. The car is very unsafe to drive and the manufacturer is not offering any assistance to fix the defect.

The contact previously received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available, and the rearview camera intermittently displayed a blank or distorted image. The contact stated that when the part for the recall repair became available, the vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, after the dealer inspected the rearview camera, no failure was found. The rearview camera was not replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the rearview camera would be replaced as necessary. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

problem is when you go to check the oil do you think you’re gonna find a low oil situation and what happens is the oil is actually overfilled however it’s not overfilled because you put too much oil in it. It’s overfilled because gasoline is leaking into the oil pan. So the oil is diluted and it actually doesn’t even seem like oil. It seems like dirty gas. That’s how much gas gets into it. Supposedly this is a known issue after searching it on the Internet, this is known, and it happens with this making my vehicle. The manufacturer should be responsible for fixing it. Supposedly the fix is either changing the fuel pump or fixing the valves or maybe a combination of both either way the consumer should not be stuck with this. This is a design error or defect. It says there’s also a problem with the gasket I feel I should not have to pay to get this fixed. This is a designed defect and they sold the car this way knowing afterwards that there’s an issue with it. My crank case is filled with gas when I pull the dipstick out. It drips like water. If you look at the full line on the dipstick it’s about 1 inch over the full line and the oil is virtually useless. The car also runs an idles rough and it’s constantly idling up and idling down and that’s probably because the gas is leaking into the engine. Please look into this and I appreciate anything you can do. This is definitely a Ford issue. They should be responsible there’s nothing I did to this particles this problem. I maintained my vehicles. I did everything I was supposed to do and this problem arose because it’s defect in the car quite frankly if I would’ve known it, there’s no way I would’ve bought it. I feel the public should know about this and I feel that they should be responsible to fix it. Thank you very much. I appreciate all your help in time. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The throttle body went bad while driving 55mph and 35mph. Over 5 times I could not accelerate while stepping on the gas peddle and it would stall out trying to get it to ford on the same road for 5 miles. I had to quickly stop and turn it back on with my flashers going less than 35mp on a 55mph road. This happened at first going around a corner you can not stop on due to no visual on the other side which would cause a wreck stopping there. The problem was confirmed by Coughlin of Heath Ford and they were the ones that fixed it. There was no warning of the throttle body going bad until it happened at that moment and repeated to happen as I tried to get it to ford on the same road it was happening on into town. The check engine light did come on but it it would go on and off during the situation until it finally stayed on after a few minutes. There is a photo of the report attached to this document.

Back-up camera quit working about 3 months ago, 2025. There is a recall for the 2018 cameras but this is a 2017. Please include the 2017 year in the recall list. This issue poses a safety hazard when backing. Driver can not see what is behind the vehicle or if it is in a dangerous position. Since this is a SUV sized car the side mirrors are not adequate to safely see what is behind the car when backing. We have had a few close calls but no injuries yet.

Recall number 25S08 for side mirror lighting, the disconnect remedy is unacceptable. These side lights provide safety measures for exiting and entering the vehicle. As older adults seeing the fold out step in the dark is necessary. If these lights are disconnected due to the recommended remedy from Ford then there is a fall hazard for owners who don't see well at night. The steps could be missed resulting in a fall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed that the contact that the recall remedy called for the dealer to disconnect the LED light wires. The contact expressed dissatisfaction with the recall remedy, stating that she believed simply disconnecting the LED light wires did not constitute a repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed the recall remedy. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

I’m a snowbird and in the past 18 months, of which I was in Iowa for 12 months of this time, the dealership has replaced the fuel pump five times. I’m scared to take this vehicle out on the highway. The module that controls the fuel pump has been replaced once. The third replacement I didn’t even get off the dealers lot before it quit

Had to stop car and restart. Happened several times. Found out it is a problem with the 6R80 Transmission lead frame which has a recall with Ford F-150s but not on Lincoln.

The brake booster on a 2017 Lincoln Navigator does not work properly, causing increased force to brake, a brake pedal that does all the way to the floor, and increased distance to come to a full stop. A recall was issued (22V-150/22S11) on the master cylinder and brake booster. The master cylinder was replaced in November 2022 (prior to my ownership) but not the brake booster. The brakes have been an issue since I purchased the car in January 2023. I tried several times to get the dealership to assist me but was never able to get the help that I needed. I recently took the car in to have the brakes addressed and now have to pay out of pocket to have the brake booster fixed. I was told that the warranty for a recall is only good for 12 months which I was never informed of at the time of the vehicle purchase.

The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the contact depressed the brake pedal due to traffic ahead; however, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The contact stated he was forced to swerve into the next lane to avoid a crash. The contact stated that the "Check Brakes" warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and advised the contact that the brake master cylinder was leaking and needed to be replaced. The contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V150000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and informed to take the vehicle to a local dealer. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced; however, the contact was informed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

My vehicle is a 2017 Lincoln Navigator. The Backup Camera works maybe 50% of the times that I attempt to back up. I understand that Lincoln has a recall on other Lincoln vehicles for this issue, but not for the Navigator. The Cross Traffic Alert does not work. In combination, attempting to back up has a real potential for a vehicle crash or pedestrian injury, especially in parking lots, for drivers of the Lincoln Navigator. Thank you.

Driver side sideview mirror caught on fire twice. Once 30 min after the car wash with the engine running. Second time immediately after the car wash upon using a power seat button and turning engine off. Mirror replaced after second incident. Wires insulation melted inside of the mirror.

Some 2003-2020 Expedition/Navigator and 2006-2020 F-150 (non-Raptor) vehicles equipped with 4WD may exhibit grinding/clicking/ratcheting noise from the front wheel area. This may be due to partial engagement of the integrated wheel ends (IWE). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to remove and cap the vacuum supply line or to reprogram the transfer case control module (TCCM) and replace any worn vacuum and/or IWE components.

To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software. NOTE: Ford has found some of the APIMs replaced and returned for inspection contained an outdated software level and the APIM did not require replacement. The customer concern may have been resolved by updating the APIM with latest level of software.

If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.
- 10217028Some 2017-2022 Ford/Lincoln customers may experience a notification in the FordPass/LincolnWay app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. This occurs when the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SOC) drops below 50%. A warning may also set if the telematic control unit (TCU) has received an over the air update. The TCU powers down all communication when in this mode and app features are disabled. Manually start the vehicle to wake if from mode. More information is located in the app under: Account > Help > search 'Deep Sleep' in the entry box. If the condition remains, check the BCM 12v SOC. If the SOC does not change after charging the battery or after BMS reset is performed, continue with normal battery and/or BMS sensor diagnostics.

- 10212957Some 2013-2023 Ford or Lincoln vehicles with modems activated through FordPass or LincolnWay may experience 12 volt battery drain symptoms when the customer uses non-Ford/Lincoln phone applications as an alternate channel to access vehicle commands such as door lock/unlock, remote start, vehicle location, etc. The battery drain may be caused by excessive calls for data through the vehicle network keeping it in an activated state. Recommend that the customer uninstall the app to ensure this is not contributing to battery symptoms experienced. Advise the customer that unaffiliated third-party app developers do not work directly with Ford to adhere to security, vehicle communication, and privacy requirements.

This may be due to an incomplete installation of the SYNC map software. Multiple reboots are expected when this update is being performed. Verify the Installation Is Complete message displays in the touch screen. This is considered normal due to the power saving features enabled while in transport mode. It is beneficial for battery life to keep the vehicle in transport mode until the vehicle is prepped for sale. To prevent a SYNC system lockup during transport mode deactivation, follow the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure exactly allowing time for the SYNC system to complete its tasks such as fully booting up or powering down and shutting off before moving to the next step of the procedure. - 10164497For Ford and Lincoln vehicles that require positive or negative battery terminal replacement, it is not necessary to replace the complete battery cable harness (14300 and 14301) for this concern. Positive battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-AA and negative battery cable clamp BT4Z-14450-BA are available for this type of repair. Do not cut or shorten the battery cable, instead carefully remove the affected battery cable clamp and clean the cable end as necessary to preserve wire length. Some rework may be necessary for some vehicle environments. Bend the new positive battery cable clamp as needed and crimp it to the existing battery cable. Make sure to use heat shrink tubing over the battery cable to battery cable clamp connection. Obtain the heat shrink tube locally.

For harness FL7Z-15K867-A, use 9U2Z-14S411-CC pigtail kits for C1428, C1429, C1430, and C1431 (front parking sensor connectors), use CU2Z-14S411-MA pigtail kits for C1322, C1323, C1750 and C1751 (fog lights and DRLs), and CU2Z-14S411-ADA for C110 (bumper-to-body harness). For the BL7Z-15K868-A harness, use 9U2Z-14S411-CC pigtail kits for C4009, C4010, C4011, and C4012 (rear parking sensors), use FU2Z-14S411-DB for C494 (bumper-to-body harness). For unused/open cavities, cut the pigtail wire 1" from the connector and use heat shrink to seal the wire to prevent water entry.

- 10160931On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.

- 10159494SSM 47948 - 2010-2019 Various Vehicles - Turbocharged Engines - Oil Supply Filter Replacement When Replacing The Turbocharger Or The Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube For 2010-2019 vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines, when diagnosing and/or replacing turbo related concerns, all steps within the Workshop Manual (WSM) procedure must be followed including replacement of all mandatory discarded parts. When specified in the WSM, the turbocharger oil supply filter must be replaced whenever the turbocharger or the turbocharger oil supply tube are replaced. Turbocharger bearing failure may occur if oil starvation occurs due to a restricted filter.
- 10159489Some 2013-2019 vehicles equipped with a EVDC air conditioning (A/C) compressor may exhibit poor A/C performance/improper climate function and/or a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P06A0 in the powertrain control module (PCM). To support the proper diagnosis of this compressor, the EVDC control valve tester has been developed and is available from Rotunda (339-EVDC100). A tester has been provided to each U.S. dealership free of charge with shipments completed 19-Apr-2019 (reference EFC07013 on FMCDealer.com). This tester will help reduce the potential for misdiagnosis and unnecessary compressor replacement. Make sure that this tester is used for warranty repairs and document the test results in the Technician Comments field.
