I was driving driving down the road at 45 MPH, and then the rear object sensor came on the dash. Then the Check engine light and about not reading a sensor. Then the vehicle locked up all 4 wheels squealed tires and came to complete stop, and then started moving forward again. Then I got scared and stopped the vehicle, put it in park and then put it back in drive, driving slower until the sensors flashed back on, I pulled over cut the vehicle to re start it and it would not cut back on, but never shut completely off. The AC fans were still blowing full blast, but the motor was not running and we could not get it to re start. We ended up disconnecting the ECM and Plugged it back in and it started back up. We have Driven it Since with no other issues but today the sensors started flashing today.

While going approximately 55 mph, the speedometer dropped out to zero. After a moment, the transmission dropped into first gear (it felt like) and the rear tires made loud screeching noises as if they locked up for about one second. The speedometer remained at zero and the whole thing happened again in a few seconds. I was barely able to maintain directional control and if this condition would have persisted for longer, directional control would probably have been impossible to maintain. This happened on an interstate in a middle lane with a lot of traffic and within a construction zone with no good option for maneuvering. Upon further research, I found that this has been a common problem with the Ford 6R80 transmission (which is in this vehicle) and that at least one recall has been sent out, but for a different model vehicle (the Ford F-150, I believe). I cannot believe that the same known defect in a transmission which just happens to be in a different model vehicle is a acceptable situation for safety in any case. I called the Lincoln factory hotline and they could not help me in any way. I was told to go to a dealer. I went to a dealer and they couldn't help me, either. All for a known issue with that transmission. The dealer told me to have it fixed at my own cost, even though they knew of this problem. I have since had it fixed, but I have two questions: 1. How can a manufacturer be allowed to leave a known safety hazard to persist and 2. How can the NHTSA ignore this problem?

My brake system failed while driving. I had just left a parking lot when the braking system warning light came on. Coinciding with this the brake pedal pressure got much lighter with each press. Since I was within a mile of home I drove there and by the time I got home the pedal was going to the floor. I checked under the hood and there was no fluid in the brake reservoir. I did not see any leaks. I refilled the reservoir and let it sit overnight. The next day the fluid was gone again from the reservoir, no leaks around the vehicle. I had it towed to Lincoln dealership for repair and they said the reservoir leaked into the the brake booster. I had researched on NHTSA that this was a known problem for Ford/Lincoln and there was a recall, but my vehicle's VIN# was not included in the recall. The dealership replaced the master cylinder and the brake booster.

I was travelling down an interstate highway in my vehicle when I noticed several momentary losses of engine power over the course of approximately five minutes. These moments became more frequent over the next two to three minutes, then the engine abruptly shut down with no power when pressing the accelerator and no warning lights. Only after I restarted my vehicle did I receive a powertrain fault message on the display and a check engine light. The abrupt loss of power with nearly zero warning while on an interstate highway endangered my vehicle and its occupants. Upon examination by a mechanic, it was determined that the throttle body on my vehicle had malfunctioned by sticking in the closed position. This was found by my mechanic to be a known Technical Service Bulletin issue from Ford Motor Company. My mechanic replaced the throttle body, and there have been no issues since.

I was driving down the road and the check brakes light came on simultaneously with a low brake fluid warning. I went to push the brakes and the pedal went all the way to the floor. luckily, I was driving slow enough in a low traffic area that I was able to bring the vehicle safely to a stop. there were no signs of a brake fluid leak and the vehicle received regular service (oil, fluids, tire rotation etc.) less than a month prior at a ford dealership. we had the vehicle towed to the same ford dealership where we paid over $900 for a new master cylinder and brake booster. the $900 bill hurt, but this could have been much worse. through additional research, this appears to be a common problem among f-150s and expeditions (same parts) and somebody IS going to get killed if the problem IS not addressed.

While driving the low brake fluid light illuminated and check brake fluid warning alerted me, as I was looking for a place to pull over the brake pedal went to the floor board and no brakes were present. I had to apply the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. After stopping I opened the hood to check the brake fluid level and it was completely empty. No visible signs of a leak under vehicle or inside engine bay. It appears to be a total failure of the master cylinder and brake booster as noted in hundreds of other complaints on this ford lincoln brake system.

I have had my vehicle stall when pulling out from a stop sign into traffic, on the highway when attempting to accelerate to pass traffic and on city streets during normal driving. each time this occurred there was a very significant chance for something really bad to happen... Not sure how I escaped driving this unsafe vehicle unscathed.

- 10254138All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.
- 10251934During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.
- 10244827Some 2016-2018 F-150 and 2016-2017 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may require pressure bleeding of the brake system. The brake system pressure bleeding procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-00, has been updated to add a warning to not apply the brake pedal or master cylinder damage may occur.
- 10235153For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.
- 10214754Some 2003-2020 Expedition/Navigator and 2006-2020 F-150 (non-Raptor) vehicles equipped with 4WD may exhibit grinding/clicking/ratcheting noise from the front wheel area. This may be due to partial engagement of the integrated wheel ends (IWE). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to remove and cap the vacuum supply line or to reprogram the transfer case control module (TCCM) and replace any worn vacuum and/or IWE components.
- 10205694Some 2016-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may exhibit a condition where the navigation voice prompts are inoperative after a SYNC map update. This may be due to an incomplete installation of the SYNC map software. If possible, using the original USB that installed the update, reperform the update and verify the navigation voice prompts have returned. Multiple reboots are expected when this update is being performed. Verify the Installation Is Complete message displays in the touch screen. If the original USB is not available, go to website https://syncnavigation.com/ford/home or https://syncnavigation.com/lincoln/home to download the files once more for the affected vehicle.
