Driving down the freeway, transmission gave out as we were pulling into the exit. Were able to cruise to a read. Cvt complete failure at 95,852 miles. Have always loved nissan but have had two major issues in the last few months that have left a bad taste

I was driving and unable to accelerate. The vehicle judders at low speeds. There IS a winning sound that comes from the engine. I have had multiple sensors replaced for the cvt but nothing has fixed this issue.

Cvt (transmission) began slipping/jerking and disengaging at approximately 121,000 miles. upon initial start up the slipping/jerking can be noticed. once vehicle reaches normal operating temperatures (driving conditions), its ability to engage IS hit/miss leaving vehicle relatively motionless in middle of intersection after a stop/slow down. this condition leaves vehicle/occupants in a serious hazardous situation, especially attempting to turn through cross traffic.

I was driving my 2013 nissan quest, when without any warning it stop accelerating, it would nit go forward or backwards. I was stuck in the middle of traffic with a car full of my family this IS very dangerous. I noticed that when the a/c IS on the car will move forward or backwards. This IS dangerous and when moving and you turn right or left the van stops accelerating with out anywarning no check engine nothing . This problem needs to be fixed before a hole family losses there life due to faulty warning and the transmission not working like it should, it sounds like this IS an issue with a lot of the same model vans. *tr

We purchased our 2013 nissan quest minivan six years ago, and the cvt transmission failed while driving home from church on sunday, may 5TH. after getting gas, I tried to accelerate and the entire front started vibrating and very minimal acceleration ability, 0-10mph. I went from parking lot onto city streets barely able to move forward/accelerate. once I was on bigger street, speed limit of 40mph, I still couldn'tt accelerate over 5-10mph. parked in the driveway;later in afternoon, independent mechanic came to our house to test control panel with code reader, he confirmed it was the trans. we test drove to determine if we could drive 20-30 minutes to nissan dealer, but we barely got a half a block from our house before we lost total acceleration - could not move forward at all. we shut the van off, restarted it which allowed us to go 5MPH & get home. the cvt transmission needs to be replaced in all nissan models. 6 year old van, still owe 10 car payments w/limited warranty valid until april 2020, however we have 118,000 miles, surpassing 100K limit. we've read online 1KS of consumer complaints on cvt trans failure, sentra, rogue, murano, altima, quest. nissan refuses to recall for cvt trans replacement because it IS not deemed a safety issue. being unable to accelerate above 10mph in heavy traffic with our kids in the vehicle IS a safety issue. nissan us cust service rep gave us the run around: tow van to dealer for nissan test then the case would be reviewed (shell out $300) however there IS no guarantee of replacement of cvt transmission by nissan. I am a teacher, this minivan IS my transportation to/from school. my husband works part-time as warehouse laborer, so we cannot afford to replace the cvt trans for $5000. nissan corporate needs to address this safety issue involving the cvt trans & replace all cvts & develop new trans. Lives are at stake.

This issue IS happening on a city street, both at a stand still and in motion. Also going both straight and turning. Extremely dangerous!! Out of nowhere I will have my foot on the gas pedal, and it almost seems like no gas IS getting into the system. My foot will be on the gas, and nothing will happen. The rpm gauge won't even move. It's especially scary when this happens mid-turn.
- Power train
I'm experiencing whining noise while accelerating and decelerating. I did some research and lots of people complained about the same issue. nissan did extend the warranty on the earlier models. however, it doens't include my model and year.

While taking my van out of parking lot, the van wouldn't accelerate despite the fact that rpm guage showed proper rpm. I tried to back the van, but same situation. I checked any warning sign such as check engine but there was no such sign. Eventually the van started accelerating very slowly and picked up some speed. I straight reached to glen burnie transmissions shop and their master technician conducted the diagnostic and a drive test. He then informed me that antifreeze from radiator has mixed into transmission and caused the transmission totally damaged. He told me that it need a new transmission and radiator. The estimated cast IS $4595 plus tax. I then checked with the local nissan service and theirik service technician said that it IS a very common problem in pathfinder and quest even without warning. He gave me the repair estimate of $ 7500. I am truly upset with this manufacturer major defect that cause so much economic loss to the customer. I would realy want nissan to repair this for free. While driving to the transmission shop the van wouldn't pick up acceleration at the traffic lights after stop and all the vehicles behind me were jumbled up and it made a safety hazard for motorists as well as for the pedestrians in the crossing.

We purchased a 2013 nissan quest in november 2015. It had around 48-49k miles on it and currently has 99K miles on it. While driving it yesterday, it began to violently shake upon acceleration between 0 and 45mph. It felt exactly like driving over rumble strips. We took it to the closest mechanic, who test drove it before pulling it into the garage to check the axels. When he went to put it in reverse to back it out of the garage, the transmission completely quit. The mechanic informed us at that point that nissans with the cvt transmission were notorious for having these types of issues. No check engine or transmission lights ever came on.

Tires are now showing white 'wire' and must be replaced! Once again, dealership says alignment issue when I took it in! And again, alignment IS perfect! Tires have been rotated every 3-5K mikes at oil change.these tires should not be doing this with only 21K miles on them!

The front tires wear quickly on the outside edges. bought van new and within 5,000 miles the front tires were bald on outside edge of both tires. alignment was checked and determined to be in spec. rotated tires to back and now rotated tires exhibiting same wear pattern. tires will not pass inspection due to wear on outside edge and loose traction in wet weather. *tr

Ipod connection first went out. said "check connected device". then the display screen started going out. would either not come on at all, then come on later, or short out while driving which also caused dvd to not work as well. *tr

- 1023906012 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect Test with DCA and Replace results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. - 10199177Brake Fluid Flush Voluntary Service Campaign Dealer Announcement: Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Antilock Braking System (ABS) actuator on 320,616 specific model year 2010-2014 Nissan Murano, 2011-2014 Murano CrossCabriolet, and 2011-2015 Quest vehicles identified in Service Comm. All affected vehicles will have the brake fluid replaced (DOT3 to DOT4 fluid). Dealers will inspect the ABS actuator using Consult. If needed, the ABS actuator will be replaced. An owners manual insert will be provided to customers with instruction to use DOT4 brake fluid to prevent the subject condition from reoccurring, and the brake fluid reservoir cap will be changed. A potential chemical reaction between the valve surface coating (Chromate layer) and the DOT3 brake fluid may cause a Gel to form around the normally closed (NC) valve. In some cases, it can cause the NC valve to be stuck open. The NC valve inside the ABS actuator may stick open and direct additional brake fluid flow to a reservoir inside the ABS actuator. As a result, the brake fluid pressure may fluctuate and the customer may experience increased brake pedal travel. Affected vehicles are not subject to stop sale. What Dealers Should Do: 1.Verify if vehicles are affected by this Voluntary Service Campaign using Service Comm or DBS National Service History Open Campaigns I.D. P0A08. Refer to NPSB15-460 for additional information 2.Dealers are requested to remedy any affected vehicles in dealer new or pre-owned inventory to ensure customer satisfaction. 3.Dealers should use NTB21-047 to correct any vehicles subject to this campaign. All inspections should have a technician completed form in ASIST. Access the form at: ASIST > Tech Support Info > Bulletin Support Items > P0A08 Voluntary Service Campaign 2010-2014 Murano (Z51) 2011-2015 Quest (E52) Brake Fluid Flush Check Sheet

- 10199170VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN BRAKE FLUID FLUSH AND ABS ACTUATOR INSPECTION INTRODUCTION Nissan is conducting this voluntary service campaign, on certain specific model year 2010- 2014 Murano, 2011-2014 Murano CrossCabriolet, and 2011-2015 Quest vehicles, to remove the DOT 3 brake fluid, add DOT 4 brake fluid, and inspect the ABS actuator. This service will be performed at no charge to the customer for parts or labor. IDENTIFICATION NUMBER Nissan has assigned identification number P0A08 to this campaign. This number must appear on all communication and documentation of any nature dealing with this campaign. DEALER RESPONSIBILITY Dealers are to repair vehicles falling within range of this campaign that enter the service department. This includes vehicles purchased from private parties, vehicles presented by transient (tourists) owners, and vehicles in a dealers inventory.

- 10194184Fuel Filler Cap tether clip service information
- 10192840SERVICE INFORMATION Temporary tire Flat Spotting is common on New Dealer In-Stock vehicles that have not been occasionally moved. Flat Spotting can occur after the vehicle has been parked (not moved) for a few days, or longer. In most cases it is temporary. In extreme cases it can be permanent. Vehicles should be moved every 30 days, in one direction only, enough to rotate the tires 90 (see Figure 1). Moving vehicles as shown will prevent tire Flat Spotting. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192805IF YOU CONFIRM A refrigerant leak at a refrigerant pipe/hose joint location. ACTIONS 1. Inspect the metal surfaces of the pipe/hose joint for damage or contamination. NOTE: Do not replace a refrigerant pipe, hose, or other A/C component if an o-ring seal will solve the leak incident, if it should occur. 2. If no damage is found to the joint metal surfaces, replace the O-ring seal. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192801SERVICE INFORMATION Because of collision damage or other vehicle repair, a replacement "Certification Label" or "VIN Plate / Label" may be needed. These items may be available from Nissan by request if certain criteria are met. This bulletin lists the criteria and provides an application form for such replacements. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192787SERVICE INFORMATION If the clip for the fuel filler cap tether becomes lost or is detached for any reason, it is no longer necessary to replace the fuel filler cap. The clip or "pin" is now available as a separate service part. NOTE - Do not replace the fuel filler cap if only the pin is needed. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192750SERVICE INFORMATION Occasionally customers may notice water vapor or fog in the headlamps. The information, illustrations, and flow chart in this bulletin are provided to help you in determining if an incident for water/condensation in the headlamps is normal or not. Nissan?s new vehicle limited warranty does not cover physically damaged (cracked or broken) headlamps. All current headlamp assemblies are vented to the atmosphere (not sealed). - This is necessary to allow for expansion and contraction of air from temperature "variations" (warmer or colder) without damage to the headlamp. - Moisture in the air sometimes "travels" into and out of the headlamp assembly through these vents. - Certain environmental conditions may cause moisture to condense. - The fogging/cloudiness should disappear over time when the headlamp is in a dry environment. See this bulletin for further detail.
- 10192727SERVICE INFORMATION The purpose of this bulletin is to give Nissan dealers guidelines to help determine if windshield breakage is covered under warranty or is the customer?s responsibility. Nissan North America (NNA) is not responsible for damage to glass that is a result of objects striking or scratching the glass. However, NNA is responsible for manufacturing issues such as distorted glass and cracks that are due to improper installation or damage to the glass during vehicle assembly. NNA typically does not find any type of cracks in the windshield due to stress after the dealership PDI. See this bulletin for further detail.
